I came in on the last day of Vacaville’s Restaurant Week for their special offering: Sautéed Crispy Pork Belly w/ spicy garlic sauce, rice, fried egg and Thai iced tea for $14. Buddha Thai Bistro (Vacaville Commons Shopping Center) is a sister restaurant to Rice Barn Thai Eatery & Bar (Browns Valley Marketplace). Both restaurants have many of the similar menu items. You can see the same staffs that float between the 2 restaurants. Their food is consistently good and the staff are always nice and helpful. If you like strong Thai flavors, then come and give them a try. You can hear people talking that are regular customers which is a good sign!

Probably the best thai spot in Vacaville! Authentic thai spot and super delicious. The service is also fantastic!

I recommend trying the drunken man noodles and the mango sticky rice.

I gave the crispy pork belly a try but I wasn't a fan unfortunately.

This restaurant only has a few tables and it fills up fast. Great service and food comes out amazingly fast. Tremendous food portion size and pricing is not too expensive. We (party of 4) ordered 2 appetizers, 4 entrees and 4 drinks for $100.

They deserved the "#1 Thai Restaurant" title.
They have a way of taking traditional Thai flavors but elevating it their own way.. We highly recommend this place.

*deep fried pot stickers- came out freshly cooked. The dipping sauce was savory, slightly sweet with a spicy kick.
*avocado seafood curry-family size portion! The panang curry flavor was strong and delicious. The salmon was perfectly- soft and flaky. Dish is probably surrounded by 2 whole avocados (see pictures).
*Yellow curry chicken- great flavor & very filling
*Thai tea 👍🏽
*mango nata drink - very delicious & REFRESHING on a hot day! Kinda reminded me of a mango mojito minus the alcohol.
*mango sticky rice dessert - ripe sweet mangoes with warm sticky right and sweet coconut cream sauce. Mmmmm...

As you can see everything we ordered was delicious.

Service was fast & courteous despite being busy. Restaurant & restroom was clean.

Tom Kha soup was very tasty. I recommend it. Panang curry beef should have been chicken because the beef was tough. The sauce was yummy. The green beans needed at least 2-3min more cooking time. The carrots were perfect in it. The amber Lamb curry needed more sauce. The mango sticky rice was yummy.

My son and I popped in for a "snack" (I wasn't really hungry, but he wanted to stop in.). On a side note, I feel like they are related to the Rice Barn across the freeway. There are a lot of similarities. Both share the distinction of preparing incredible food and also nationally rated as so. This is a place you have to experience for yourself it's on another level. Taste and textures.

I picked this place randomly a couple of days ago. Top level service and food. Diana my server was so caring and attentive. This place definitely hires the right kind of people. Updated 11/2024: The food was very good. Portions were large. Appetizer, pork belly was overcooked and had very little sauce.

They reduced the heat for me on the Drunkenman, and it was more delicious than my husband, who ordered it straight off the menu

The sun can often be intense coming through the window. The couple next to us complained, and they pulled the shades, which was greatly appreciated by all dining!

We will go there again, as my daughter-in-love likes to eat there.

I love this place! I’m addicted to their mango sticky rice dessert. If you’re looking for a yummy meal, look no further. Everything is good there.

We drive about 45 minutes just to eat here once or twice a month. They have the absolute best Pad see ew and fried rice. Their cream cheese Rangoon are different, but great. Our protein go to is the crispy pork belly or the garlic fried tilapia! The tables are a little close together, but overall, great experience!

I love the drunken Noodles

I dropped in once before, but did not have adequate time to place an order due to a work commitment.

My very first time ordering here. I placed a to go order for 3 adults and young children. The order was prepared quickly and packaged. I was (verbally) told my total was $71.31, I paid by debit card and left. Days later when I checked my bank account I was actually charged $84.28. I located my receipt and it reads: $71.31.
She added additional fees (i.e. tip, surcharge, etc.?) without my consent. I have never had someone upcharge me! If she would just have "asked" me I would have been happy to give - as far as I'm concerned, her actions are on par with fraud/stealing.
The food was OK. The vegetable stir fry I ordered was quite greasy.

Buddha Thai is a delicious and welcoming restaurant in Vacaville. There's plenty of parking that's never been a problem, they have great customer service and the most amazing curries you'll ever eat. I also love their fresh rolls and I also love their chicken. Every time I go there which is usually once at least a month, I always try something new that I haven't tried before. I'm never disappointed in the food or the service that I get at Buddha Thai. You can also check out their sister restaurant over near the Nugget market in Vacaville called Rice Barn. Both of these restaurants have high quality food that is authentic and very delicious. Their menus differ in that Buddha Thai is strictly a Thai restaurant whereas the rice barn has some Thai food flavors but also brings in some other Asian flavors that are a welcome addition. Both restaurants feature a full selection of amazing foods, easy parking, and high quality of service. Highly recommend either of these.

Delicious food and greal atmosphere... Feels like it should be too nousy to hear others at your table, but it is not... just comfortable with feeling of privacy even though open space.

Got a tip on this place from a friend, so we decided to visit for dinner. It was just before the dinnertime rush, so we were seated immediately. By the time we left an hour later, the restaurant was packed.

Quick ordering and quick service! They obviously care about customer service. We barely spent an hour there, so that's how fast the service was!

Thai tea was yummy and sweet like it should be. We ordered the regular drunken noodles and love the spice, but some of the beef pieces were a tad overcooked for our taste. Citrus chicken fried rice was my favorite. Good crisp on the chicken, good flavor, and a big portion! We also ordered the salt and pepper pork belly. Some pieces were a little too fatty for us, but that's why someone would order pork belly, right? And then we also tried the volcano beef. Good sauce flavor and yummy tempura tasting onion rings. Again, some of the beef was a little tough and overcooked, but overall, it was a good flavor.
We took an enormous amount of food home, paid about $100 with tip for 4 dishes, 2 thai teas, and peanut sauce.😋

Little bit disappointed from my last visit. I got take out and there was something strange at the bottom of the rice in the container, so I threw it away...the new atmosphere is nice, but I think the food quality went down unfortunately.

The food is Very good. The atmosphere is modern, perfect for a date, but not so posh that you feel out of place coming in in jeans and sandals. Our favorite is their masaman curry, hands down.
They are a bit over-priced, but the food is good and the portion sizes reasonable.

Service was terrible and food was greasy. They take your order and give one glass of water with the meal. Once they dropped the food at the table, service basically stopped. Credit card device has suggested tips above 20% which was just ridiculous.

They have a new dish that has udon noodles in a yellow, mild-spice, curry topped with a bunch of fried chicken and garnished with cilantro and red onions served in a huge bowl. It’s unbelievably good. Glad my dad’s friend Roger told him about this place. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. As a family we’ve had near 12 of their dishes and EVERY ONE is great. 👍

Everything about our dinner pleased us. Service friendly and quick. Green curry and Pumpkin basil with shrimp and chicken were generous portions and very tasty.

We are salad fresh spring rolls, salmon and tilapia. All dishes are super delicious. Huge portions. The rice were served cold. Asian food must come with hot rice or at least warm. When we arrived not many tables filled. Still the wait is long. We we left the place was packed.

I really love the food at Buddha Thai. We have always had great service except for the last visit. The gentleman who was our waiter was very distracted. It was about 1:30 so the end of the lunch rush. After we got our food he never came back to the table. We had to ask the waitresses for waters boxes and my wife walked up to the waiters station to get the check and to pay. First time for poor service. But the food is always great.

Buddha Thai Bistro never disappoints. We've been fans since the day it opened. The crispy citrus chicken is incredible!

Overall it’s a really nice spot that is hidden in the open. The staff and service were excellent. And the food especially was incredible! Probably some of the best Thai food I’ve had. Especially their fried rice, that you have to work to not wanna eat all.

Best restaurants to get Thai food in town friendly staff and the best pad Thai and yellow curry around. My husband loves their duck and their Thai tea is delicious. We usually order out but are more than happy to dine in they are so quick to serve the food.

Worth the hype and reviews

I can't say enough good things about this place. The food was amazing, the service was great, and they were very accommodating with my picky toddler nephew's food/allergies. The pad see ew with tofu was so delicious. The tofu was so crispy and the sauce was perfect with it. Also, the mango nata was refreshingly perfect for dealing with the summer heat. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food and desserts.

We all agreed this was some of the best thai food we've had! Delicious, fresh, amazing! Even the spring rolls were bursting with so much flavor that you didnt even need the sauce; though you did want the sauce because it was so tasty too!

Pad Thai is outstanding when it’s prepared as advertised, but they are very Inconsistent with this order, I’ve gotten it with Chicken on the bottom and noodles on top, nothing else, I’ve also gotten it missing sprouts, nuts, and onions, this time maybe because they are closing soon, almost no Chicken and missing peanuts. This time I opened the order to check, and was given peanuts on the side. There are times I’ve ordered much more items, which my family enjoys very much, which we never have an issue. Just when I order the Pad Thai by itself. But Overall, there food is outstanding when complete.

Best Thai in Vacaville

I ordered Drunken Man Noodles customized for pick-up order and specifically requested No Spicy. I arrive home with my order to have dinner only to be disappointed that the meal is extremely too spicy. I have ordered the same dish from their sister location Rice Barn in the past and have never had this issue. This will be my first and last time ordering from the Buddha Thai location.

Great food, slow service. Mo concept of who came first. Once our order taken 3 more tables got their food. 30 minutes we got the appetizer if steamed potstickers. Very tasty. Still waiting for main course. Two others are finished who came after us. If you come the food is very good, patience will get you through

This is by far the best Thai restaurant I have been to. Fantastic is an understatement when it comes to the food. Great proportions, reasonable prices, and nice staff. If you are looking for delicious lunch, this is the place. I would strongly recommend their pad thai and chicken satey (the peanut sause is to die for)!

I discovered this gem a couple years ago when we first moved to Fairfield (just a short drive away from Vacaville), and am still so happy I did! Thai is one of my favorite foods, and this place checks ALL the boxes; Quality, Flavor, Service, Ambiance, Cleanliness and Location. This is one place I always look forward to coming back to. If you like Thai food, or if you're wanting to try it, treat yourself to a visit to Buddha Thai Bistro....

Food was tasty, service was decent and fairly quick. The environment is a little dimmer than i expected, which is nice for a relaxing for dinner. I also ordered their roti ice cream as dessert, it has waffle syrup over the roti, it was served with a skinny long plate with chocolate writings, which was a showstopper i think. If i knew it was that fancy, I’d of ask them to write a short celebration message like “happy birthday”, “I appreciate you” or whatever fit the occasion. I think they are outstanding and worth a high rating.

Massamon curry, excellent. HOWEVER, Larb salad with chicken was totally wrong. Larb dressing should be made with rice powder and fish sauce (plus other stuff). This was not. Larb salad should be served with lots of fresh herbs especially mint, cilantro, green onion. This one had nothing but iceberg lettuce and carrots and red onion, the same generic salad served as a side with the curry. When the Larb is prepared correctly I will give 5 stars.

First time eating at Buddha Thai Bistro. Food was really good but I did not like the seating arrangements, not enough room to place ordered food.

Been eating here for several years. We live in Roseville yet gladly drive almost an hour to eat here. The absolute best Thai food.

This place by far has the best tasting Thai food. I drive here all the way from Roseville because almost an hour drive is way worth it. Their lemon chicken is divine! Tom Kha Gai is amazing, and their Citrus chicken came with such fragrant fried rice! It's a small place, so if they are packed, we just get it to go and have a "picnic in the car". So glad they survived the crazy pandemic times. Support your local businesses, especially the small family restaurants.

Buddha Thai Bistro has great service, and most importantly delicious food! It is newly renovated with much more space now as well! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu here. This can also be said about their other restaurant Rice Barn that’s also in Vacaville as well!

Great food but if you order online it is not clear whether you are going to get rice with your curry. There is no check box for rice only a place to fill in $3.00 for extra rice and no option for brown rice which they have. It kind of takes the convenience out of takeout if you have to cook rice when you get home and find out it wasn’t included. Great food though!

The absolute BEST Thai restaurant in town! Staff super friendly when we walked in and throughout our meal. We ordered The Red Sun appetizer which is pot stickers in the yummiest curry. We also had the pumpkin curry and drunken noodles which were just amazing!! Can't wait to come back :-)

Went back for "restaurant week". They would not honor the advertised discount except on online orders, even though I showed them the offer without any such restriction, and the online menu doesn't include what I want to order. As if that weren't bad enough, they then inform me the prices on the menus in the restaurant are wrong and I'll even get charged MORE! Even with their good food, their prices have gone up from about $35 to over $50 for the same amount of food over the last couple years. After this episode I won't be back. Against my better judgement, tried it again because I was nearby running errands. More like $60+ for the same amount of food. Food is still good, but really?!

Food quality too low. Sodium too high most of the time I visited. This Budha place has another restaurant in same city. It's called Rice Barn. Rice Barn food is unmatched with any other thai restaurant. I love going to Rice Barn. Everything is great at Rice Barn.

However, the pricing of an entree includes a meat-based protein. I don't eat meat. So, I didn't like paying for meat that I didn't receive.
So, I received an extra stalk of broccoli, in place of beef or chicken ... It just doesn't seem fair... Oh, well .. there are other restaurants... Other choices...

Food was amazing before the rennovation. Now the place is amazing and the food not so good. Three of our dishes came out cold, the calamari, potstickers and eggplant si vous plais, cold cold. I still love you Buddha Thai and hopefully this is just a bumpy reopening

They have expanded. Which is great but short staffed during the rush. My drink never came. I had to ask for it and it was not as expectedfor such a price. My cousins food was sitting and cold. We had to ask them for it. They really cut back on good service and product such as dipping sauce and good customer service. :( i really liked them.
The salmon red curry was very delicious. The potstickers and calamari were also delicious.

The spring rolls were AMAZING! I ordered the pad Thai and my friend ordered the drunken noodles. My noodles were lacking some heat but u asked for chili oil and chili flakes. The drunken noodles were extra spicy according to my friend. Portions are large so you can share an entree with a friend.

This is not traditional Thai food. Food is overly sweet and not well balanced.
SomTam should have dried shrimp and chili in it. It should be well balanced with tamarind .and fish sauce.
Tom Yam soup also overly sweet. And why is there crushed peanuts inside?! The cook is either not Thai or doesn't know how to cook Thai food.

Ate lunch here today... plenty of diners so service was a little slow... I ordered a lunch special, which is my favorite, the Thai eggplant and tofu. It came with salad, crispy eggrolls and jasmine rice. It was delicious... husband said his seafood noodle soup was just okay. Portions were just right and not overwhelming. Reasonable price and polite service. Will eat here again if ever in the area.

The restaurant is like a hidden jewel in my opinion. Great food, reasonable pricing, and friendly/motivated staff. The interior is not fancy at all but "good enough".

We traveled from very far to come here, when we call, they say they were open, hours later when we arived they say sorry we are closing, hey didint bother to tell us they close mid day, we waited till 4, came back and they say sorry we open at 4:30... terrible experience, they came highly recomended, but their service is terrible. Never going back, never will recomend.

Excellent lunch specials. All flavors clean, intense and well balanced. Really delicious little tucked away spot!

Friendly service and we where seated pretty quickly. It did take a while to place our orders but food came out fast and delicious. Will come back again.
