Thai and Indonesian Cuisines
We ventured into this small restaurant in Tustin for our team lunch. The location offers good parking space, decent seating capacity, and an okay ambiance.
The restaurant features both Thai and Indonesian cuisine. The service staff was friendly and welcoming. We sampled a variety of Indonesian dishes:
- **Nasi Kuning**: The turmeric coconut rice was flavorful, paired with coconut beef that had a unique taste. However, the food was a bit cold when it arrived.
- **Nasi Bungkus**: Served wrapped in a banana leaf, this dish tasted okay, with the jackfruit curry adding a unique touch.
- **Mei Ayam Yamien**: This dish was a bit bland for my palate.
We also tried some Thai dishes:
- **Yellow Panang Curry**
- **Thai Fried Rice**
- **Pad See Ew**
All of the Thai dishes were ok and satisfying. The portion sizes for the Thai food were generous, but the Indonesian dishes had smaller portions for a similar price.
Overall, if you're looking to try Indonesian cuisine, this place is worth a visit. The variety and flavors make it a good choice for those wanting to explore different dishes.
The noodles are the highlight because how comforting it tastes but still it was nothing mindblowing or special it still taste underwhelming if you expect something to tastes so similar like back home.
The nasi bungkus was alright, not the most generous in condiments and quite lacking in flavour.
The cendol however wasthe worst, they use jelly instead on actual cendol and it tastes just like sweetmilk you cant taste any coconut milk flavour in it.
Overall the food here is pretty good. Never had Indonesian food before but was excited to try. Definitely worth a try in my opinion. We enjoyed some of the dishes more than others but would get most of them again. The Thai food was also great. The only negative was the portion size. A bit small for how much it cost.
I liked the green curry I ordered. It was just the right spice level. However, I was shocked that for the price, there were only 5 small shrimp in it.
I was happy they were able to accommodate my gluten "allergy".
However, they only offer white rice, not brown. The drinks offered were all quite sugary, and I was looking for a low-calorie drink.
My companions enjoyed the Thai iced tea.
We sat there with the dirty dishes still on the table for a long while. In fact, they never cleared them.
I guess they don't follow the protocol of clearing away dirty dishes before bringing the check.
I felt the food came out in good time, as we were a group of 7.
The atmosphere is like a fast food place.
The bathroom and tables were clean.
My friend unfortunately bit a large chunk of ginger in her Tom Kha soup, which was unpleasant.
Ok, tasting with good quality meats. They took a while for the noodles to come out, but overall not bad. The papaya salad is mediocre, which can be better tasting. The noodles and broth were better than their rice dishes or appetizers, in my opinion.
Nice place to bring family if you want Asian cuisine.
First time here. The service was friendly. Food was good. I tried Pad see ew for the first time, and liked it. I like Thai food, and this is a place I will go back to. They don't only offer Thai food. They have a lot of Indonesian food also, so there's lots of new stuff to try.
We don't have much Indonesian food in San Diego, so we were excited to try this place in the Tustin area that serves Thai & Indonesian cuisine.
We tried:
Satay Babi - the rare pork skewers that most Indonesian spots don't have because they're Muslim majority. These were really good! Really tasty peanut sauce.
Mie Ayam Jamur- noodles with chicken and mushrooms, with meatballs in broth on the side. This was delicious! Big portion of noodles, nice to dip in the broth and also add spicy sambal sauce.
Nasi Kuning- this came with turmeric coconut rice, chicken, beef rendang, sambal egg, tofu & tempeh. We love the variety and all the flavors together.
They still have other items we want to try so we'll have to go back again!
So we are Indian and like it spicy: Got take out for the first time: pad Thai, red curry, and Tom yum. It hit the spot!! Cold and tired, perfect food for the cold weather dinner!
Food was alright. Customer service was horrible. They didn't acknowledge me for more than 10 mins while I was waiting at the front cashier to be seated. Just ignored me. Didn't ask me if I needed anything or if I wanted to be seated or anything not even a hello. Nothing.

Food tastes great, but the service is sometimes slow
Says Thai but have more Indonúsian dishes. It's okay, nothing special, price is some what high.
The noodles are the highlight because how comforting it tastes but still it was nothing mindblowing or special it still taste underwhelming if you expect something to tastes so similar like back home.

Menu looked good and authentic. Got my Indonesian fix and Thai food seemed ok. But I judge an Indo restaurant on its Rendang - and this one was too dry and hard (possibly needed to have been heated up several times?
No cendol , no rendang after ordering it then told they don't have any but another table who ordered after has it on there plates , no noodles on the thai menu it's was 5:15 they just opened at 4 pm . Very disappointed coming from la country to try this place . I tried I won't be back I am Indonesian my family flavor of things was good we had but limited options to far to drive for limited options
Been here a total of 3 times and all for taken out. The first two I ordered from the "vegetarian" menu but both times the taste was off. This time I asked if it was completely vegetarian (no fish) they said no, they use the same sauce for all dishes. A pre-made sauce that contains fish. So not really vegetarian.
Also ordered the beef pad thai and that was good.
The food is generally good, just not vegetarian.

Ordered a nasi bungkus and rendang to go. The food tasted fantastic. HOWEVER, I was charged $36.53 for two items, one of which is the attached photo of the beef rendang. (Looks to be a 16oz container, so this would be about 1¼ cups of food.) I should have specified that I wanted the NASI rendang per their menu as rendang by itself is not listed. Is 3 pieces of beef really the current inflation price? (P.S. If you order online through a food delivery service, they are priced at $15.95 (nasi bungkus) and $14.95 (nasi rendang). By comparison, I was charged $16.95 per item.)
The service was so so. The restaurant was empty, so two of the employees were on their phones. The lady became less engaging when I didn't include tip. (This was pick-up after all.)
I know this was a lengthy review, so thanks for reading. Bottom line, the food tasted great, but I will not be coming back.
An Indonesian friend recommended I come here to try Indonesian style food for the first time. I enjoyed the experience and left feeling full.
Not bad
They had karaoke and the overall place had a nice vibe. The staff were very nice and attentive. The food was good but nothing very special. They also have Indonesian food if you want to try. Good prices and normal sized portions.
Chicken curry was a hit.yummy
This was my first time and it was delicious and authentic Indonesian food. I’d highly recommend the Mie Goreng (fried noodles), fried chicken, Sate Ayam and Nasi Kuning (yellow rice plate). The portions were generous and the service was very kind.
I walked in, no hours posted on window, and employees sitting around on their phones. The one lady then tells me they’re closed but the door was wide open. If your closed, why have your door open and just sitting around if yall have stuff to do. Do better
If I could give this place a negative review, I would. The chicken I ordered smelled and tasted like they’ve got manure on them, like they hadn’t been washed prior to frying. It was the most horrible experience I’ve had in a restaurant and I’ve dined at different corners of the world. Save yourself from the horrible experience and go somewhere else
Food quality horrible. I ordered rak na seafood and they gave me no shrimp. A couple of pieces of veggies too much soup and taste very salty. Never go back to them again.
We were charging our car closeby on our way home from San Diego and saw that they have a few BOGO promos on Uber Eats, cross checked them on Google and decided to order Pad Thai and Yellow chicken curry.
We definitely got a lot of food from the BOGO. Pad Thai tasted good and the yellow curry was yummy. The only thing that was lacking in both was the amount of protein.
Very delicious food! Nice, humble and welcoming people. Highly appreciated!!

Nice place to bring family if you want Asian cuisine.
Ordered chow mein with chicken. 5 small flat pieces of chicken, some noodles and pretty much raw veggies, and a can of coke. What a joke. $ 22 in total. Never going back for sure.
The best indo food in Irvine area

This place is FANTASTIC!! They made a special "no salt" chow mein for my husband, and I had the Nasi Kuning.....so good. Taste just like my mom's cooking....the real deal..highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
I don’t know why they acted like they didn’t understand me. It’s rude when places pretend like they don’t speak English very well. Just needed to make sure I didn’t get onions
I was looking for a place that served babi sate and this place was recommended. Decided to try it out and wasn't disappointed. This restaurant serves both Thai and Indonesian food.I ordered the babi sate and pad Thai. Babi sate was tender, flavorful and the peanut sauce was very good. Pad Thai with pork was full of flavor, a good balance of sweet and savory. The noodles were cooked well and the meat was fresh and juicy which is rare! Portions are worth the price, you get 5 sticks of sate and a large plateful of noodles. Just a warning to those impatient diners...if you are in a hurry then I wouldn't recommend dining in during peak hours. This is a small family owned restaurant and there are only 2-3 people managing the tables so you may have to wait a while for your food to come out, but it's totally worth it. Food is tasty and fresh, I highly recommend you give this place a try.
The food is extremely flavorful. I always come here to dine with my family and I’ve never been disappointed. I 100% recommended coming here. Everytime I’m craving something spicy or maybe even not, this is literally the first place that comes to my mind. I wish more people came in and gave them more business. They deserve it.
the nasi bungkus was excellent. spicy, flavorful, great variety. the meat was well cooked. the beef rendang (a kind of Indonesian beef curry with special spices) melts in your mouth. the ayam goreng (Indonesian -style fried chicken with a special marinade) was crispy, flavorful, and juicy. the sambal (Indonesian chili) had a delightful zing. I look forward to coming back here to try the rest of their menu :D
Anyone craving authentic Indonesian cuisine must try the Nasi Bungkus and Nasi Rendang dishes....my absolute favorite. So flavorful, just the right amount of kick....just memorable.
Finally found an authentic Indonesian restaurant OC! Wish they would expend their Indonesian menu a lot more 👍🏻
Gracious staff

I had to came twice as the broccoli beef was just steamed broccoli barely had beef on it, I called and got the dish replaced and it turned out to be the same thing, definitely don't recommend, for the same money there are plenty of better options around. Don't waste your time here
Got ripped off on the sop buntut!!! Price on the menu shows $10.50 but was charged $17.50 but didn’t find out about it until we got home. Made a comment while having the meal there that no wonder sop buntut cost $10.50, all they gave were 4 small pieces (probably the end tip of the ox tail) and a half of the medium size. On top of that they charged an extra $2 for steam rice. Service was also slow, asked 3 times to wipe off the table before it gone done.
Thinking twice before going back there let alone recommending this place to others.
Very authentic Indonesian sit down place!
Fri fried rice with seafood the worst taste and deceptive food I've ever seen. It comes with two shrimps, one imitation crab meat and two some kind of dough based balls. I was disgusted by the whole experience, I ended up throwing it away. I will never go back there and certainly do not recommend it to anyone.
We were very disappointed with our experience. My husband and I both ordered the Fried noodle dish with chicken. It’s was supposed to be made with broccoli and have a sauce. There was no broccoli, but instead they put iceberg lettuce with the noodles and there was hardly any sauce or flavor. The chicken pieces were sparse. Our family ordered Pad Thai and the chicken and veggie dish. It was just okay.
I tried the food from this restaurant for the first time and I really like it. The service was quick an the sever Kartika was really friendly
Food was bland. Disgusted that also found large piece of clear plastic in my pad see ew noodles.
I’m a noodle guy, and this place has a very good Chicken Mushroom Noodle (Mie Ayam Jamur)
The food was good. The service was spotty at best. A family of 3 came and went before we were able to get all of our order. I had to ask multiple times for things like water and rice. We would consider take out again but not dine in.
great food will return
Such authentic Indonesian food! First time finding jackfruit curry outside of Indo! So amazing, thank you all, will definitely be back.
They have two menus for a reason. Order off the Indonesian menu for a really nice experience. Be warned, they do not lie about how spicy their food is, ask your server and be prepared to sweat.
Go tonight! Order something unfamiliar.
Good good with friendly staffs. We just tried the indo dish maybe next time we try the thai dish. A little pricey
Highly recommended! You got to check it out. First time to this place. I was amazed by the taste and the reasonable prices of the food. Definitely will come back again.
Worst service ever.... if you are not Asian prepare yourself to receive, rude bad service, came here Sunday night and the server was rude, took a long time to serve us, but when Asian people speaking they're language came in, they serve them nice and different, if you have no tolerance to diversity you should put a sign of " ASIANS ONLY" very bad RICE AND NOODLE, expensive food for the small portions they serve...
Awesome service, good food just need tiny kick on those sauces and perfect 👌🏼 Thank you for having us .
Ow they are pet friendly as well 😘
The food was really good but thought it was a little expensive for the portion size. Seemed like they were serving lunch portions at dinner prices.
So glad they serve Indonesian food! 😊💕👍🏼
My office is close by and decided to try them out. Ordered Beef Pad See Ew and Shrimp Fried Rice. Food was fresh out the grill and tasted excellent. Great flavors and food was not over cooked.
Customer service was great, owners are very friendly. Can't wait for them to fully open. This is the best Thai restaurant in the area and I'll definitely come back here.
Food was delicious. Great customer service . Will definitely be back.
My girlfriend was craving Thai food and I remember driving by and seeing their grand opening. Came in on a Saturday night the owners were very friendly and told us about how they started.
The food was great especially the orange chicken. The spicy basil beef was flavorful. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu
