This is a small neighborhood Thai restaurant that you could easily overlook if you aren’t actively seeking it out. In terms of food quality I say this place is on par with any restaurant in town and probably better than most. The Pad Thai is good and I also enjoy the Drunken Noodles with chicken (spicy please!).
Another thing I appreciate about this restaurant is that every time I come in it looks clean and organized, something I can’t say about every restaurant.
Definitely recommend for dine-in or takeout if you’re on or visiting the Mesa Neighborhood.
The staff was really friendly and our food came out quick. I started with the cabbage soup (that’s their soup of the day everyday) and my husband got a salad w carrot ginger dressing. The soup could have been a bit hotter, but it was really delicious tasting. The chicken pad Thai was super good! The ingredients were really fresh. The curry was yummy and filling.
Just like it's sister restaurant across town in Goleta, Meun Fan has delicious food. Great noodle and rice dishes and lots of appetizers to choose from. Wine and drinks are somewhat limited but the food makes it worth it.
An easy pickup from any place close to Santa Barbara's Mesa or you can sit in there fairly spacious dining room.
Highly recommend the Thai tea!
Accidentally entered from the side (street) entrance instead of the front entrance (parking lot). There was only one waitress during lunch time; however, it wasn’t extremely busy, so there was no worries. But we had to walk to the front entrance area for the waitress to seat us because she probably didn’t see us. Nonetheless, the food met expectations. The Thai tea wasn’t too sweet and not too bland, just right. The pad Thai was fine. There were no roasted peanuts, but I still tasted a peanut taste in the dish. Lastly, there were a couple fruit flies on the window, inside the restaurant. Whatever flies we were unable to kill flew around our food at times. However, the table was clean and the restaurant as a whole looked neat and sanitary.
A great little spot for Thai food, whether for dining in or takeout. The food and the service is consistently good every time. I especially like coming here for lunch for the Pad Thai, cabbage soup and Thai tea.

Had a pleasant experience at Menu Fan. We visited couple of times during our trip to SB. Service was very attentive, food was tasty (with no MSG!).
Although, the drunken noodle which we specially requested to be "Mild spicy" was quite spicy due to the chili flakes seasoning. The quantity is on the lesser end and would be nicer if it were more.
Overall, a solid 4/5
The food is delicious, from appetizer to main dish, to dessert! This is why we brought a friend along.
Still a favorite!

Great food. Great service. Seeing an old man, by himself, keeping up with everyone was amazing. Good energy and recommendations from him.
Green curry is the best, ask to make it spicy (if you like spicy). Indians will like this place for sure.
got whats called crab cheese and the chicken satay with peanut sauce for my dinner as a busy college student very easy to order and fast pickup and all the staff is super friendly
the food is to dieeee forrr its so delicious
We have loved the food here for years. The staff is always very friendly. We have eaten at the restaurant, and ordered takeout.
However, our last take-out meal was not good. The dishes we ordered were bland, but very salty! They lacked the nuances of Thai cooking. We were very disappointed.
Whether it is due to staff shortages, or something else, we hope you get back on your game quickly. At this time, I cannot recommend this place to visitors coming in to town, as I often have in the past.
I recently discovered this Thai restaurant. I’ve been to Thailand, several times and love their food. This is the best Thai food I’ve found in Santa Barbara. So far I’ve had the spicy ground chicken, basil and rice dish, the spicy eggplant with tofu, and the wonton soup. All of them were perfectly seasoned. So tasty. I’m pleased that they’re located only 10 minutes from my house! Gay

Best Thai food I've ever eaten. Best Thai in Santa Barbara. Everything is made in-house, even the eggrolls/chai. Food is well prepared, presented, and seasoned.
Food is not overly spicy but has a delicious kick, and their are house made condiments to customize flavor and preferences for everyone at the table.

This was so tasty, highly recommended. Fast service and tasty noms in my tums.
So nice to be served by a happy owner who serves amazing food. Authentic flavours brought me back to my travels in Thailand. 5⭐️
Continuous decline of food quality and taste. Every time they try to rush you telling you they close at 9 pm even if its 7:30,pm. Started sweeping and clean up at 8:30 pm right next to people eating. Won't go there again. Too many disappointing experiences
Very tasty and delicious. Great lunch specials too!
Fabulous food, and wonderful service. So delicious, and people so hospitable, you'll want to come back again and again! If you haven't tried Meun Fan Thai Cafe, you need to!
DELICIOUS!!
Food is tasty and served hot (temperature wise). A little crazy that they charge extra if you want your food served with rice. I haven't experienced that before. Service is fast and staff is very polite.
The Food is SO good there and the staff is so respectful and helpful and attentive. Give it a try!
Run of the mill. Not very good. All 4 of us had dishes that were OK. No real spice, overcooked veggies and chicken. Eggplant was mushy not much flavor, very few basil leaves. Disappointing. I was there a few years ago and had forgotten how underwhelming it was.
Beautifully prepared food in a very clean and tidy atmosphere! Spring rolls are a must.
no very good experience, waitress is rude, food took too long just for one person order, I order dessert to go and she didn't write down and when i finish eating i ask for my dessert and the chek, it was only the check so i walk out, with out dessert, the food was ok
Delicious food and good friendly service.
The best Thai restaurant!!! If you want real authentic Thai food, this restaurant is the choice. We are travelers from Thailand and craved the taste of our homeland. This place is Thai-guaranteed ^^
Great place for takeout - flavors are sumptuous. I've never dined in, so can't comment on that.
Great take out Thai, but I would NEVER eat in the restaurant again. I have had great take out from here and would be tempted to give 5 star based on that, but a recent experience in the restaurant would get 1 star at best! Such horrible service. Even though they weren’t busy, they got several orders wrong and overdid the spice level so much the dish was inedible. The woman who brought it seemed shocked by the spice level visible on the dish and said looks very hot. When we sent it back the other server argued with me about ordering medium spicy even though I have ordered this dish take out and the spice level was always perfect. Her attitude was so rancid I woke up the night after feeling so disgusted I will likely never eat here again and will throw the left overs out. Perhaps there are different chefs and the one who does dinner service is vindictive when specific spice levels are requested? The server was so nasty, when she brought the take out bag, my sweet friend said thank you, to which the server responded by slamming the bag down and turning to walk away without a single word. Horrible disgusting service. I always tip well, but after this experience I am ashamed to have left any tip at all! They could offer a full refund and apology but this horrible woman’s actions are unredeemable. Shame on you.
Love the curry dishes. One of my go to spots and I love that it is never crowded. Underated spot.
Perfect lunch spot to satisfy my Thai food cravings. Quick service and food is delicious with great flavor.
Exellent service. Good meal 👍👍👍
I've eaten here 3 times with various friends and family. The food is fantastic! Pat Thai, Tom Ka Gai, spring rolls, everything so beautifully plated and tasty! The "brown" rice is actually red rice, which tastes like a wild "rice." I'm hooked. This review is for the Goleta location on Calle Real.
Sometimes it's the best food you can have, other times it's kind of mediocre. Same with the service it can be stellar it also can be you're wondering where everyone is. Good food though for the most part.
Great take out.
Food was really good but service not so much. They were just busy and understaffed. We were one of only a few tables dining in but they seemed to care more about the to-go orders. We waited for 20 min at the table before they even came to take our orders. Then had to flag them down at the end so we could pay and leave.
The flavors were excellent in the curry. And the vegetables had the perfect level of crispness. Very good.
I used to really enjoy this place but then my friend and I got food poisoning. Before then I'd get it almost every week and now I can never go back unfortunately. My friend ended up having E.coli. We had both gotten pad see ew with chicken (about 6 months ago)
Personally I think this is the best Thai food in SB. I love their green chicken curry with brown rice.
Delicious Thai on the Mesa. The lunch specials are the best!
Good food - a favorite with locals
Picante
Decent thai food at an affordable price
Love this restaurant
Delicious Spicy Beef and Combination Fried Rice. Definitely have to get the iced green tea!
Clean crisp food with great service
Very good food at a reasonable price. Convenient parking.
Lunch Special deals. I would go back.
The food was delicious! The Spring Rolls were fancy looking but weren't my favorite personally. I got the beef broccoli in oyster sauce 😋👍
Awesome place to eat
By far best Thai food I've had
Good food.
One of my favorite thai restaurants in town! Great service and great food at good prices. Great lunch special menu.
Good Thai food, affordable prices, nice decor, good service.
Food is great! The atmosphere is a little outdated but very clean. Pricing is on the high side but this is an expensive city.
Really good spring rolls!
Excellent Thai food
Kinda plan, no texture in food, kinda mushy, like the rice
👌🏻 stunning
This place is the pinnacle of watered-down Thai food. I ordered the red curry which looked more like orange curry due to all the coconut milk. I should have known this place was going to be horrible when I saw the menu and the lack of interest from the wait staff. To make things worst, I could hear AND understand what the wait staff were saying about their guests! Don't waste your time or money here.
Great friendly service , the best Thai in town.
Absolutely the best Thai restaurant in town. The quality of the food is fantastic and the prices are just right it is far better than the Thai restaurant Downtown Santa Barbara State Street Galanga. The service is pretty good as well depend on who serves you.
Good food and nice place.
Love this place! Come at least 1 a week atleast.
Food is delicious here!
Salad was homemade, Pai Thai, was the best we ever had. We came Thursday at noon.
The food was delicious but it was hard to understand some of the staff because they couldn't speak English.
Good lunch special
The recipes are good but the execution is inconsistent
Very good food.
Okay, so I’ve only been here once, but I had a great first experience. The tom ka gai and drunken noodles are delicious!
My favorite Thai spot in Santa Barbara! Everyone is really nice and food is yum yum!
Visit SB most years from the UK and the take out from this place is a MUST for us when staying in Hope Ranch... Absolutely love the food :)
Tastes good, no issues.
The food here will charm you. I can handle some spicy food, but sometimes I don't always want to have a meal that eats through my stomach lining. This place packs all the flavor of Thai cuisine into every dish while balancing the spicy. It's good for people who love thai food and for people who hate it.
Food is too sweet! It is Not Thai food
The service here was good but the food was not. Had the yellow curry and was disappointed. I wanted to like this place, but the food said otherwise.
Food was great and great, friendly customer service!
Best Thai food in Santa Barbara. People are very nice and the food is excellent.
Quick service and decent food. I would say more of a fusion place than an authentic Thai food place. I like the "green tea thai tea". Never had this anywhere else.
Comfortable family run Thai restaurant. Have had most items on the menu, and always impressed with quality ingredients and preparation. Talk with chef/owners for and understand the care that goes into their food.
Yum
Fantastic
Comfortable, clean and pleasant Thai restaurant. I recommend Panang Curry and Basil Beef. The Pad Thai is surprisingly blah.
Nice people but the food is bland and not like typical Thai food.
The people are nice but I cannot recommend this restaurant. An example of what I am talking about is most dishes are largely without flavor and filled cheap vegetables like cabbage. The Pad Thai should be a stand out staple, but not here. But the staff is nice
Wonderful people, wonderful service
Best curry fried rice ever.
Dishonest business conduct. Owner knows what she's doing when deceiving customers with a Menu that reads one price but when the bill comes they slide in the extra bucks. This happens with quite a few essential dinner orders, like the pad thai, which is listed exactly as "Shrimp and Chicken Pad Thai" for $9.99, You order it. The bill comes charging $12.99 for it, because it has shrimp and chicken and this is extra!! Same with the curry dishes, etc. You will always get overcharged. Most won't even notice it.
The portions are small. You order an appetizer for 5 people and it brings a tiny dish with sauce that is only good for one person. When you call waiter for more sauce they will bring it, but then the bill will later reflect a buck extra for that tiny amount of extra sauce that wasn't enough either! It is a shame that the ownership is such a money monger and we can't believe they are still getting away with this. Many locals, including ourselves, have confronted the owner directly about this issue to have her only say that she will change the menu with correct pricing. She told us this during spring last year, but our friends dined there recently and had the exact same menu and billing problem.
To top it up, the staff is rude and short-sided. They come across as nice at first, but don't ask them for anything or question anything. The service is very lacking. The food is not bad in general. Pad Thai tastes like the rusty pan, but they can make good strong sauces. Our noodles are always very sticky and gummy as if they were sitting in water for a while, but the sauces are very good. Again, it's a shame we have a local business that takes many of us as fools and disrespects the community blatantly.
Until they decide to do better we would not encourage anyone to dine there.
Comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere. The cuisine is authentic, the service fast and courteous.
The food was excellent, including the lunch specials with salad and soup (choose one) that had an delicious and original flavor. We finished with iced Thai coffees and paid a little extra for brown rice. The meal came to $15/person before the tip, reasonable for these parts.
