Welcome to Sweet Lime Thai Cuisine. The word “Sawaddee” in Thai means “May grace be with you” and is used as greetings and also to extend warm welcome to guests and visitors. Having had more than two decades of experience in food service in Thailand in the Bay Area, we finally turned our labor of love into Sweet Lime Thai cuisine, where we treat you like family with home-cooked style meals with a smile.
hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance of the space felt warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. Parking was a breeze, which is a huge plus in my book.
Now, onto the star of the show—the food. Let me just say, the fish is absolutely phenomenal. I’ve never been one to lick a plate, but this time, I couldn’t help myself. The flavors were out of this world, perfectly balanced, and left me craving more with every bite. Sweet Thai has officially redefined my expectations for great food. I would pair it with a nice wine as well, I just picked the first one on the list and it was great. Also the desert is a must as well, not heavy at all.
If you love delicious meals that are crafted with care, this is the place to go. I took my entire family, and everyone was raving about their dishes hahaha. We’re already planning to come back next week—it’s that good. Highly, highly recommend! 👏
We had a large group of 10 come for a late night dinner around 8PM and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Last call for kitchen was around 9PM, but we were easily able to order by then. Our waiter frequently checked on us and food came out quickly.
I had a crispy tofu dish that was amazing. The tofu was extremely crispy and complemented by flaky dried thai basil. The sweet chili sauce was a little bit overwhelming as it pooled onto the bottom of the dish, but with some rice you could kind of eat around it. The tofu was a bit pricy at $18 for what it was, but I definitely recommend trying the mango sticky rice!
Absolutely loved Thai food at at Sweet Lime Thai in Lower Pac Heights! I came here with some friends and we had a blast trying out the different meat and seafood dishes. My favorite was definitely that Thai beef curry!
And the mango sticky rice for dessert was the perfect ending to that delicious meal. There was even a live guitarist playing while we were there. Plus a nice green backdrop with neon lights. Good vibes all around. You gotta check it out!
Pretty decent, but expensive Thai food. Very pretty and modern interior. My party came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one waitress, so the service was very slow. The Thai Ice Tea is kind of watered down here. I wouldn't recommend it for $6.
I ordered the Khao Soi and it was pretty good. They give A LOT of broth, which is rich in curry and coconut milk. Very sweet. There's big cuts of tender chicken (dark meat) at the bottom of the bowl. I wish that they gave more egg noodles though. It was difficult to finish the rich broth with the lack of noodles.
I’ve had a lot of amazing Thai food growing up in the Bay Area, but what the head chef, Jah is cooking up here packs a big punch, sending you to flavor town regardless of the dish you order…some of my highlights:
- Appetizer: Nam Tok Neua 🤯🤤
- Chefs special: Khao Soi
- Noodles: Pad Kee Mao
Guaranteed good time, better food with classy ambiance and decor
A large variety of succulent dishes, perfect for any occasion. A small business with plenty of charm.
Very welcoming environment with delicious food. Great spot!
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with great fresh food and a wonderful host. Would highly recommend
Super good! Pad kee mao, shrimp red curry, and roti were top notch. Highly recommend for anyone in the neighborhood.
Yummy food and very nice people.
Excellent food and service, delicious curries and fresh rolls. The soup and salad were very fresh. Staff was attentive and the restaurant is immaculate in terms of cleanliness. Worth the trip. Please note they close after lunch to clean and prep for dinner, always a good sign. The yellow curry is mild in terms of heat/spice level but can be ordered more spicy. The Makhur Song Krueng (whole eggplant with shrimp) is a favorite.
I’m thai and this place has legit thai food! Thai chefs in the kitchen are also thai. The ambience is super aesthetic too. They even have orange wine list (rare to find)
I love the “Pla saam rod” fried fish so so good and refreshing.
Duck noodle - hearty broth and the duck was so tender
Coconut water - so refreshing with coconut meat
Mango sticky rice - save some room for dessert because this was amazing
I came here during lunch time on sunday and there was no wait

I was hungry and arrived at 2:30pm. I was told that they only doing to go order’s because they close at 3pm. Misleading. Change your hours on google if you are not accepting customers during your stated opening time.
The online menu for Tom Kha soup says $13, but once there, they tried to charge me $18.
Excellent food! Hi, I haven’t been able to call the restaurant because the inbox is full but can I inquire if a brown Nike jacket was found there? Thanks!
Sweetlime is legit Thai restuarant, seriously good stuff. If you haven't tried it, go for their Khao Soi—it's awesome! The staffs are really nice and they make you feel like family. Plus, they spruce up the place now and then, which makes it feel extra special. Definitely my go-to for delicious Thai eats in Lower Pac Height!
The dishes were cooked to perfection, tasted delicious, and the portions were of decent size. The mango dessert was fabulous.

Portions sized for toddlers
Love this place and food is delicious 🤤
Really delicious food with wide selection of dishes and lovely service. One thing you should know is that if you are trying to get in and out quickly, it can take some time to get your bill.
Dear Diary - a friend recommended this place as I was a visiting member. I'm very glad that they recommended this place. The only thing I would say is that their dishes aren't as spicy as I'm used to getting back home, but the flavor is amazing! I wanted to try everything! I know I'll have more trips over here and will definitely try different things on the menu next time!
We're a group of 5 and my order arrived about 15 min late. No apologies or explanation 😡
Delicious pad thai and chicken satay, cute vibe
Amazing pad thai, great wine list and kind service
Authentic flavours, good service and beautiful decor. Pad Thai, fried rice and mango sticky rice are my favourite. You should check this place out!
The staffs are nice and food is great!
💯 % recomendado para mi jente latina que le gusta la comida Thai este lugar está riquísima la comida 🥘 con gusto regreso
Tbh this is actually the best meal in my entire life. Let me tell u guy that khao soi is unbelievable .There is no way this restaurant get only 4.2 star they deserve like 6 star.
This restaurant is very delicious, from the heart of Thai people who have eaten Thai food from many places.
This is one of the best Thai restaurant I ever had!!! I am 100% sure that you will love it and come regularly
This Thai restaurant cook the foods same like real Thai foods taste and it’s very tasty
The food is very delicious!!
Really good!!
Fantastic experience at this Thai restaurant! The dishes were authentic and bursting with flavor, the service was friendly and prompt, and the ambiance truly made us feel like we were in Thailand. Great value for the quality of food. Highly recommend!
I tried Thai food outside of the country for the first time. I was amazed because it was very tasty, similar to the local food in Thailand. I was also impressed with the lovely service.
อร่อยค่ะ
good food good view good service ❣️❣️
Nice and clean not only food but in the restaurant were really good
Good quality food with a very nice vibe, great!
It is a hidden gem. I love the their foods. They Curry are the best. This is will be my new favorite Thai place 😁

Worst food and service ever. Has a chance to peek at the kitchen . It is the filthiest kitchen i have seen . Dirty and stinks.
They are very accommodating and kind here and will support lots of good vegan and gluten free options!

Very bad and slow service - waiting for my food 40mins and it is still not ready - very bad service- do not prefer this spot
rice costs $3.75 a bowl lol how you gonna serve curry without providing rice for free
Very small restaurant and limited staff made the seating and service a bit slow. The owner apologized stating he was short staff. Regardless of the slowness, the food was outstanding! Definitely coming back to try other menu items as the menu is quite large.
This place is sooo good! definitely recommend. the food is really flavorful and delicious! the staff are very nice and service was amazing! i’ll be back
Food: 3/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Overall: Food was standard fare.
The extended review...
Food:
Larb Duck - This was probably the highlight of the meal. This dish was fairly fresh and plentiful for a table of two.
Yellow Curry Lamb - This was much better on paper. Though the display of the dish was nice, the taste was a bit of a disappointment for me. Specifically the meat was over cooked a little which made it tasteless and mushy.
Pork Pad Prik Khing - Standard fare in taste. Nicely prepared and fresh.
Service: Friendly and attentive service by the wait staff.
Ambiance: Very casual setting.
Best Thai food you can ask for. Consistently good.
I've eaten at this place several times especially because it's near UCSF Mt. Zion where I used to get my radiation and St. Dominic's Church. Food is very good that's why I keep on coming back. However last June 1, my infusion at UCSF Mission Bay ended past 2 pm and there weren't a lot of restaurants open, so I just decided to go home. The Uber driver drove near St. Dominic's church so I changed my mind and went to Church and go to Sweet Lime at 430 for my very, very late.brunch. I walk from the Church to Sweet Lime, hungry and exhausted from the infusion, only to find out they open at 5 which is different from what was indicated on Google maps. I requested if I could just go inside so I could sit and rest as I was in pain. The only female, English-speaking server came out and said they're closed and they open at 5. I explained to her that I just needed to sit because I was feeling very tired and in pain. I even told her I will not be ordering, to which she replied that she is still on her break. I just wish that she could have been more compassionate. I couldn't believe that this was the same server who was so pleasant every time I eat there ( I always order for dine in and take out). Such a shame....
The staff at this Thai restaurant is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They always make me feel at home, and the food is always amazing. The curries at this Thai restaurant are some of the best I've ever had. The flavors are so rich and complex, and the portion sizes are really generous. It's a great spot for a night out with friends.
Great thai place and my go to spot for dine in as well as delivery.
Everything I had from here didn’t disappoint me. Pad thai, tom yum soup, eggplant beef, papaya salad, pad kee mao, green curry were all good. The service was awesome, plenty seats available and can’t wait to try dessert menu next time.
They had white rice, but said that they ran out and gave us brown rice. My rice wasn't even brown, it was purple. It was racism. From my discription you can tell. But it was. Food wasn't that good either.
I was in this area for a dental appointment. I was planning to eat here but I changed my mind.
Great Thai food! I’ve walked by here many times and finally tried Sweet Lime Thai. Nice ambiance, relaxing music. Aun was also very welcoming and offered great service!
I’ll definitely come back!
Great food with clear indications of Gluten Free options
I visited this ‘around the corner’ thai restaurant recently for dinner and it was a good experience. It is located just off Fillmore and it was a already past 7:30, but it was not too hard to find parking. Was abke to find a spot just a block away.
The ambience was refreshing with fresh and light colors, and has a modern vibe about it. It was very clean and the tables was already set and ready for guests. We were walkins and it was not too busy either. The hosts were very prompt and had masks on :) 👍 👍 i like that very much.
The host/server took order quickly with any fuss and the food was out shortly too. I ordered chicken pad thai and thai ice tea. The tea had good flavor and tasted very fresh too 👍
The chicken pad thai was well made and tasted great too, and I was not rushed by the servers to finish up and pay. The best feature of this place was everything went very smoothly and there was nothing to complain about. Price is about right as well :) highly recommend this place for a no fuss casual thai food :) 👍
Great milky Thai tea, the mango sticky rice was more on the citrus side than sweet, the entrees are served in a sharing bowl and portions are big. Kind service and able to do split payments. The crab fried rice was good too (careful, feel for shell bits), would be better served with lime.
Food is *so* delicious. A little pricey but worth it, I treat myself like once a month.
The food is so yummy and the service is really good too. Perfect place to come with friends, family or even your date. 100% would come back here again!
Guys and dolls, I've lived in SF for over six years and have been searching for a place that does Massuman beef properly. This place has it all!!! Everything that comes out of their kitchen is something to post about, no lie. Truly y'all, taste it!
Has been redecorated under new owner. Very pleasant looking. service very good. Food today was tasty and presentation is nice.
Pineapple fried rice-The portions are enormous, enough to feed around 2 people. Plenty of chicken, curry powder, pineapple, cashew and raisine. the rice is fried until is fragrant and sweet and chewy.
Very tasty food
This place is amazing. The food is great and the staff is super friendly! They make you feel like family.
The dishes feel very authentic - the Tom Kha soup in particular is delicious.
Go for brunch if you came into the area for sweet maple but the line is too long. They have great brunch specials too!
Ordered the green curry, it was pretty bland. Underseasoned, but edible
Absolutely loved Thai food at at Sweet Lime Thai in Lower Pac Heights! I came here with some friends and we had a blast trying out the different meat and seafood dishes. My favorite was definitely that Thai beef curry!

This place is incredible and has some really excellent dishes on their menu. I highly recommend anything on the Chef's Special section, especially the Choo Chee Salmon. The sauce is seriously refined and beautiful. You can taste that it is not a simple thing to make. Their white wine selection is also great and it's a fantastic place to sit for dinner.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere(decor/lighting) was great. There was a bit of an odd smell on the restaurant, earning 4/5.
Wonderful authentic Thai cuisine. Extensive menu with different curry dishes.
Spotless restaurant, lovely dishes, excellent service and outstanding cuisine. Dishes are bursting with flavor. Staff knowledgeable and friendly.
I love this Thai restaurant. I have been a customer since the year they opened ,12 years ago! Everyone is very nice , polite and the food is delicious . I highly recommend Sweet Lime thai cuisine.
Exquisite
Delicious and fresh entrees and appetizers in a clean, modern restaurant that was recently remodeled.
everything I tried was amazing and enjoyed the ambiance! I highly recommend the crispy trout
We were blown away by the fresh and flavorful dishes. Each one was made and presented with care. The miang kham appetizer and the green curry were some of our highlights. We'll be coming back soon!
My favorite thai spot in the city! From the decor to the quality and flavors of the food you can tell that there is a lot of love and care that goes towards making this a neighborhood favorite. Their green curry is superb -- aromatic, not overly spicy, and the shrimp and green beans in it were perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place!
my favorite place, they never fail me, I hadn’t eaten all day … and then I got their thai and rolls and fell asleep for so long, so peaceful, I love thai food, I used to live closer and was a nice walk there
Great food, great staff!
Well the food looks great! But I dunno. That whole block seems like a great place for a rock venue. You know? Like a... like a... a ballroom! Yeah! A ballroom! Oh San Francisco needs a ballroom! Eh. Something to think about...
The greatest Thai food I've ever had! I love everything about this place. EPIC food, really nice staff, and you can tell they put a lot of love into their decorations. Real candles and fresh flowers.
We've tried many things on the menu and everything blows us away. Good sized portions and fairly priced. We try to go as often as we can. 10/10 would reccomended!
Lovely food - flavorful but not over spiced like so many places. The Pad Si-Eew was delicious and the noodles were as delicate and silky as I have ever had. We liked every dish - including the Chicken Thai Herb which was new to us. I highly recommend
Best Thai food around!
Reopened for sit down in restaurant dining. Good food and friendly service. Ordered basics for our first visit- Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were both great. Sauces not too heavy or sweet. We will be back!
Great food, super friendly and helpful service. Not very large portion sizes so no food to takehome, but super super tasty. Will definitely be back - glad to find somewhere so great so close!
The best tasting Thai Food in San Francisco! Incredible service too! Highly recommend the pad kee mao, it was so so good.
Incredible flavors
Outstanding service. Amazing amazing food and wonderful wine selection. Very beautiful restaurant.
Really enjoyed the noodle dishes! Try Pad Thai with duck.
Awesome Thai food! Authentic and delicious!
Really amazing authentic Thai cuisine. Some of the best Thai i've had in San Francisco. Vibrant flavors in a laid back setting in a great location in the city. Outdoor seating on a mid-summer night eating some of the best Thai dishes and sipping on fine natural wines? Yes Please! Highly recommend their curries and also appetizers- chicken satay, crispy roll, and fresh veggie roll.
Great food and walking distance from Japan town. Chicken satay was my favorite.
The angel wings were great
The Thai tea was great
The masa man curry and pad Thai were just okay, maybe a little below average.
First time. I ordered for dine-in and surprisingly, I was asked to pay right away. Upon noticing that I didn't tip (was i supposed to assume the food and service would be great?) the man gave me a stare commenting: "no tip?".
I ordered the pad thai chicken for lunch. It tasted great but the portion was wayyy too small for a 12$ meal.
Places like Marnee Thai on 9th or Thai Time near Geary give you a lot more for your buck (and they let the quality of their product/service decide for tipping). I don't know if the guy made it that small because I didn't tip but that's how it was.
I will never come here again.
Very bad food very angry person
Legit goodness and amazing duck curry
Update: came back here (prepared with my own pen) and I was happy to find that they changed their system - if you order and pay online, they don't ask you to sign a receipt anymore! and if you happen to not pay online, they have a cup of clean/sanitized pens and a cup of dirty pens to sign with. They also limit the number of customers inside at once to 3. Was really happy to see these changes made, I'll be back!
I used to come by this place occasionally before COVID and always liked it so figured I'd get takeout after reading reviews that they were being safe and careful. You can order and pay online, which is nice so I can minimize contact, but then when I got there they asked me to sign a receipt with a pen... which did not get sanitized before putting it back in the container for someone else to use. Also one of the workers was not wearing a mask. If you're worried about your health during these times I would recommend going somewhere else (or at least bring your own pen if you must come here).
Loved this place, first time going and the staff was very friendly during quarantine!
I got massaman beef, green pork curry, shrimp pad Thai, and pineapple fried rice. Very high quality Thai food and super flavorful in comparison to a lot of other Thai restaurants. The owner, Nee, is very sweet. Massaman Beef is a highlight!
Please support Sweet Lime in this difficult time!
Great yellow curry!!
this place was amazing:) one of the best thai restaurants i’ve ever had. the flavors were amazing and you could taste the freshness of the food. not only that but the service was excellent, having many servers walk around, asking about your meal and conversing with you. made my day!
Sweet Lime was consistently great for months, and then all of the sudden it wasn’t. After that, it was consistently bad and declining.
I had such fond memories of this place, and for a while it was my favorite Thai place in the city. Now, all the good servers are gone, the food isn’t special, and the price isn’t worth what you’re buying anymore. It’s a gamble at best.
I don’t know why this place doesn’t have 5 stars. Great food, super friendly service and authentic dishes and flavors. The duck larb is killer if you can handle a little heat. I definitely think this is the best Thai cuisine in the neighborhood. I’m a chef who recently came back from a month in Northern Thailand, and this place reminds me of dishes I had in Chiangmai.
Everything has always been tasty!
This is my favorite Thai place in the city! Love the tofu and vegetable curry.
Very delicious and they customized it for a fussy vegetarian like me :) Great service as well, though they are busy.
Everything is really good!!!
Is ok
This place is amazing!! Best pad Thai in town as well as a great price!
Food is always fresh and healthy. They have amazing homemade chili sauce you can ask for when dining in or ordering take out. Their red curry with shrimp is a personal favorite. They are accommodating and friendly as well.
Great flavors
It’s a good Thai place. I was craving Thai food and this place was a good haven! Every time I go to a Thai restaurant for the first time I order either Pad Thai or Pad See Ew. I believe a Thai restaurant must do them right or can’t be true Thai otherwise.
I ordered the Pad Thai with the Fresh Rolls combo (adding $5). The Pad Thai was good. The taste was authentic and I appreciate when the pad Thai comes with Tofu besides the other protein. Temperature was good and it wasn’t that sweet as in other places. It’s hard to find Thai places in the US that don’t make Pad Thai extremely sweet. This one doesn’t. It is sweet, but not a dessert. I appreciate that.
Fresh Rolls were indeed very fresh. Exactly what I was hoping for. Lettuce, carrots, cucumber and avocado were extremely fresh. And the peanut dipping was very good too.
Come and enjoy it.
Yellow curry very satisfying
This place is simply amazing their calamari rings are smackin'
Great service, tasty good , will come again
Great food. Nice authentic flavors. Great service.
Really nice staff
Pineapple fried rice was really good
Bad experience. We order a green curry with chicken, the chicken was raw, and we tried many times to get the waitress attention to return the dish, she totally forgot us... The runner waitress got an attitude with us when we complained at the end of the meal.
Good service
It was an esquiste experience..a delight to the tastebuds!
Excellent neighborhood thai
