Best Thai we've had in a looong time. Big portions, full of flavor and spice! And when I asked for Spicy, they delivered, unlike other places! 5 stars! Giving 2 stars for service, as the server girl never refilled my water, and I had to get up and ask for my bill to pay. Totally ignored after food was delivered. Atmosphere is a bit lame; cramped and noisy, so two stars for that....but food rocks.
We were welcomed by the nicest people in the area, they greeted us with smiles and showed us to our table. The food was also exceptional and fresh, our deep fried ground pork and crab roll, roasted duck red curry and cashew chicken came piping hot, and all the dishes were absolutely delicious! The price point is also quite good, as most dishes comes with rice or noodles.
There are a total of 7 tables inside, so it is cozy and gives off a neighborhood vibe.
They were all so great even greeting us as we left. We will definitely come back to try more.
Fantastic Thai food at a reasonable price, and very fast and friendly service. The Emerald Salmon dish was so tasty, and my kids LOVED the mango sticky rice dessert (the owner gave the kids extra, so nice of her). Wonderful little restaurant near Clement and 7th Ave., worth the visit
Wasn't this the original location of King of Thai?
That's how I remember it... Has the delicious King of Thai disappeared now?? Anyway, I came here with the wrong expectations, but even though it was an open-run and we were pressed for time, I still have fond memories of the tasty meal!
Overall, the food was pretty good, and my wife said the seafood noodle soup was really tasty.
Just finished my delicious lunch and savoring the sublime state of satiation. We always forget to take a pic before we eat but alas I could only t snap this photo.
Highly recommend for delicious, well made, Thai food in a cozy no frills spot in the Richmond. Formerly King of Thai Noodle, the chef is the same as before the name change and the menu has a good variety of noodles, curries, soups, rice dishes and appetizers you’d expect (satay, papaya salad) Came here with my mom who loves their sweet and sour prawns-this is an amazing dish, the prawns are coated in a super light crunch that makes the whole dish come together. Sauce was perfectly balanced. I had the Tom yum soup with tofu and it was the perfect sour/hot combo. The bowl was huge. Pad Thai noodles were al dente and dry (a good thing, not too saucy). Service was fast, attentive and friendly. It’s a small space that can fill up quickly but tables turnover relatively fast and this place is totally worth the wait. So glad to have rediscovered this place and happy to have another option for great Thai food
Honestly the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. The customer service here was great, super friendly staff.
Onto the food, we ordered two dishes:
Shrimp pad Thai, this was the best pad Thai I’ve ate. The sauce wasn’t too strong and tasted authentic. I hoped it would have a little spice kick but it didn’t, but still delicious.
Peanut curry with rice, this was a new dish to me but sounded appetizing. The curry was rich with flavour and I will definitely be returning here again soon !
Guys this is a review from a couple that lived in Bangkok. The only difference was that the dishes were not as spicy as they are in Bangkok but that is because in Bangkok there's a higher tolerance for spicy, other than that amazing dishes highly recommended. For all the plates you see we paid $107. AMAZING !!!!
10/21/23: The restaurant had rebranded as Nakorn Thai. The menu appears to be largely the same. It seems the chef is still the same. Time will tell if the new place is ale to carry on the good reputation of the old restaurant from King's Thai #1🙂.
#1.The.Food.is.Amazing.🍜👏🌈🦄🇹🇭🇺🇸🤩
Don't need to take my words for it. Give it a try yourself🎉.
2023 update: New ownership, same great taste 👍🎉🙌

My new favorite Thai restaurant in SF. We ordered pork larb medium spicy and yum talay- both were excellent! The seafood in the yum talay was all tender and fresh, and the ground pork in the larb was succulent. Similarly, I felt our tom kha gai stood out from other restaurants because the chicken was still moist. The flavors didn't stop there- we also ordered the pad prik king with a crispy pork belly substitution served Thai spicy. DELICIOUS. We were very happy campers, and I really appreciated that they were upfront that swapping the meat choice would come with an additional charge. I think that's totally fair when subbing a "premium" meat.
The place is small and clean. Don't be deterred looking in from the outside- there is seating in the back for ~16 people.
This was a really wholesome neighborhood spot. Both servers on duty were attentive, and everything was handled with great care.
Nakorn Thai SF is a new (to me) favorite I can't wait to share with friends and out of towners alike.
I love this spot. It was the original Kings Thai and now Nakorn. Best Thai food in the city.
Amazing mango sticky rice
Always coming back to this hole in the wall. They're super fast and the roast duck curry is my fav. Really good restaurant with cool chill people making your food! Thanks guys 😁
Tasty food and great service!

amazing tom yum and you can add noodles of your choice. the service is great they are so nice. this is now my favorite thai spot in inner richmond
This restaurant made the perfect papaya salad, exactly the taste I have tried in Thailand. All other foods were great, too. The waitress was so nice and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Kozy Thai restaurant with great food, family friendly atmosphere, and great service… looking forward to my next visit. Big thank you to the staff for a wonderful experience!
Fantastic and authentic Thai food! This intimate family-owned restaurant has amazing food and wonderful service. The owners made sure we were happy with our orders and my daughter loved the mango sticky rice and pad see ew. We are definitely coming back for more.
Great spicy food with affordable prices. The staff are amazing and friendly
My life is changed. Coming to the area for a competitor Thai place around the corner, we were sad to discover they were take out only. Our misfortune was indeed short lived as we discovered Nakorn was mere feet around the corner.
When I walked in confirming the right place, I was met with the first joyful face of many throughout our visit. Every item ordered was better than text book Thai.
The creamy yet light broth of the tom ka gai was smooth and delicate. The pad Thai was properly sauced and seasoned, NOT DRIED OUT!!!
But the winner of the evening has to be the pumpkin curry with chicken. If you want a feeling of thanksgiving without the stress of the entire feast, come enjoy the warm atmosphere and staff here. 100/10 recommend.
Very nice Thai Noodle Place Services great server or cocoa very Ferry especially the waitress are nice food is nice and hot and love the food try it out you might like it
Total hidden gem! Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Casual, quick and incredibly delicious!
Food here is excellent, tasty and made to order with quality ingredients. Service is welcoming and fast. The place is very clean.
Wonderful!! Delicious and authentic flavors!! Highest quality food and service! Warm and attentive staff make you feel like you’ve been friends for twenty years!! Noodle soup with fall apart tender chunks of flavorful beef and a broth that you can’t stop eating! Nam tok (spicy beef salad) and larb moo (spicy ground pork) will feed your soul! Will definitely make this place my #1 stop every time we’re in SF!!
Friendly staff.
Food was average. Green Curry was on the sweeter side.
Honestly the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. The customer service here was great, super friendly staff.

Prometo regresar.
Literally a hole in the wall restaurant. Cramped space, their hours are erratic -google maps often has them wrong- and if you show up even 30 seconds after they've closed between lunch & dinner they will NOT seat you.... even if you're a regular customer like me!
That said, this is one of the best Thai places in the bay area. Their soups specifically are perfection- Tom Kha Gai is highly recommended: some places use a very sugary coconut milk base but these guys don't; the soup is always savory and just right heat-wise. The Pad See Ew and chicken satay are the perfect accompaniment. Service is always good here, just don't show up late!
Guys this is a review from a couple that lived in Bangkok. Ordered Pineapple Fried rice, Pad Prik Khing w beef & Duck Red curry.
Curry was great but came with it's own rice.
Pad prik Khring was mostly rice.
Pineapple Fried rice was good but was of course rice.
I wouldn't have got the first 2 because the rice was pointless & the portion on the Pad Prik was tiny.
Food was good but well overpriced for portions.
Had duck over rice, along with Thai tea. It was delicious. Fast service and attentive waitress. Seating is tight and too close to the latrine unfortunately.
Possibly the best little Thai restaurant in SF. And they take credit cards now!!! (they didn't for 30 years).
Service and atmosphere nothing special but the food is Godly.
I’ve ordered twice out of King Thai in the past two weeks and I’ve been disappointed both times. I got a chicken panang curry with literally no chicken and today I ordered a chicken cashew nut they completely messed up my order and sent me something I couldn’t even eat.
Lisa provides the best service. She is amazing.
Prices are less than other Thai places. I like the open kitchen and low overhead.
Portions are smaller than other places around and they add a bit too much sugar (at least in the Panang) than I remember other places do. Overall it’s okay.
Good Thai beef noodle soup. I come by pick up to-go 2 times a month.
Pretty good food, got Thai boat noodles (#2) and I really enjoyed it. Some Thai boat noodles I’ve tried are too sweet or too watery, but this one was good. Server was really nice and food came out quickly too.
The best chicken noodle soup in this city. I always order this dish when I come here. Fast service, friendly and attentive staff. Not to be confused with KTC#2.
Favorite Thai restaurant in the California. Definitely come here for the Choo Chee Prawn and the Tom Yum. Don't judge based off the looks, after all this hole in the wall restaurant beats any upscale neo-American white bread overpriced food that the SF locals tend to frequent.
Incredibly delicious 😍😍 I could eat here all the time ! The broth of their soup was most delicious ever!
We had a satay appitizer ane shrimp pas thai. We will be back. Quick friendly service.
Cash only and reasonable. Awesome fresh Thai dishes.
My favorite restaurant in the world. Perfect food, great service, cheap prices.
This place is extremely naaasty on the outside and on the inside. If the parts that everyone can see are this dirty I can't imagine how is what we can't see. I don't understand how places like this exist. All of the employees especially the lady taking my order where really rude. And to add the employees are not wearing gloves/face mask correctly. #covid there is not one positive thing that I can say about this place.
Best and most generously proportioned pad thai ever eaten. It was so savory with well balanced ingredients, just the perfect amount of shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts, carrots, cilantro and crumbled peanuts. Make sure you try their hot thai tea as well. The waiter was super kind and the service was record fast. Also a nice cozy atmosphere.
Wow!!!!!!
Very tasty! I ordered Pad-see-eew and a bowl of Duck noodle soup. They both were delicious! The waitress was very friendly too.
My favorite king of Thai!
It's the very first one!
A small spot to eat. Food is good
Good service and foods.
No better place to get Thai food
Got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. Not too shabby.
My family and I have been coming here for a long time. We were happy to see that they are open during the shelter in place. They even made fixed the door so that it had a small window for takeout.
The staff is always very friendly.
one of the best places for pho.
Good Thai food
Best thai in northern cali
Food is always delicious.
Ordered earlier this evening through grubhub for delivery. After about 20 minutes of no progress on the site I called them to make sure they got my order. A woman answered, said no more orders tonight, and said no, my order was not confirmed so I should have known the food wasn’t coming. I started to ask about what happened and why no one called me and the woman totally hung up on me with “thank you bye” while I was talking. Such poor service boo on them. Only after I talked to them did I finally get a cancellation notification.
Good Thai comfort food in a small restaurant not high in ambience but I usually come for takeout but cash only.
Food is great!!! Must try the Thai Ice Milk tea, Hor Fun, and Thai Fried Rice!!!
Cash only. Most authentic broths! Try the beef stew and the roastd duck noodle soups!
Delicious. Very good value. Friendly service. Would definitely go again.
Excellent food some of the best thai I have ever had. The thomka soup was definitely a large portion and loaded with chicken and vegetables. They are open late til 11. The only reason I gave it 4 starts was for cleanliness in the dining room. They could use a good cleaning.
Great food at cheap prices!
Quality food, more complex flavors in their pad Thai than I have found elsewhere. Curry portions were generous and filled with good veggies. Delicious hot Thai tea for 1$ and really good hot sauces. Would totally stop back in.
One of the oldest and best!
Great!
Quick and delicious Thai food in the city. Don't let the looks of the storefront decieve you because the food is terrific
Good Thai food at a great price. Only Thai place in San Francisco that two people can eat for under $25. Also, they stay open late in a part of the city that closes early. I love the red curry and pad see ew.
Great Thai food, might be a bit harder for english only to navigate. The staff is friendly and helpful should you need it
Food is okay. Small restaurant. Hard to find parking.
I love the soup. Number 1 is awesome.
down home thai with caring staff
ガパオのグラウンド·ビーフがお勧めです。タイアイスティーと一緒に。。
Great Thai food, only down side is that this place only take cash payment.
Great spot for comfort thai food. Fries chicken fried rice is the best!
Loved the food.
Good, cheap Thai food with MSG free selections.
When I’m visiting SF for extended stays or need a quick, filling meal after 9p, eating at King’s Thai Cuisine #1 helps me stay within my travel budget.
I try to eat MSG free as much as possible and was very pleasantly surprised that their pumpkin curry doesn't use any MSG (most places use MSG). Other dishes w/o MSG that I order regularly are the Pad Thai, Pad See Lew and the chicken noodle soup which is item #6 on the menu as Guay Tiew Gai. Ask for less noodles and more bean sprouts if you're trying to cut back on carbs and they'll do it without complaint.
Cash only.
Food is authentic and delicious. Not just the pad thai you find everywhere else. Cash only
Delicious
Great Thai food for good prices
Best Thai restaurant in the inner Richmond
Food was always great except the recent time I was there. Eggplants tasted like they were going bad and they forgot to put tofu
好吃
Unknown. Amazing.
Just OK. Not good as before and they charge for tea. Pad Thai noodle was like chop up noodles stick together, horrible!
Will definitely not coming back again 😝🖓
Taste great. Good service. In and out in 30min.
Hole in the wall Thai food place. Inexpensive meals!
Excellent Thai food, as always. This particular location is tiny, but well worth it. Their quality is reliably good.
