Upscale Thai spot with exotic game & more traditional dishes in a modern space with orange accents.
Old reviews reflect a pricing and portion size no longer offered | new pricing and restructured portions
Shrimp Pad Thai was lackluster , a pile of over priced noodles with 4 shrimp to count , and a pile of overplaced tofu cubes to compensate.
Beef pad Thai was equally disappointing.
95% noodles and initially 2 ounces of beef, after significant complaint was offered “no more shrimp but some beef” and received a lukewarm cup of beef after 10-15 minutes of additional wait, to coordinate with our cold flavorless noodles.
Apparently inflation has caused shrimp to be “too expensive”. For reference small-mid shrimp at margin around $1-$1.50, so to nickel and dime over 1-2 shrimp is ridiculous.
Photos attached show a clear “shrimp pad Thai” and “beef pad Thai”… a pile of noodles with little protein.
Service sucked, was slow, understaffed, and benches were uncomfortable.
IMO: Thanh Tam II & Krua Thai are both better options.
Food was very good. I had cucumber salad, Spicy tofu and brown rice. Spicy tofu was spicy. It could have been a little spicier for me but probably just right for most people. Next time I'll ask if they can make it a little spicier. Cucumber salad was very tasty. Service was fast and pleasant (it was between 6 and 6:30 so fairly early on a Wednesday evening). My first time here. Fairly extensive vegetarian choices . I'll be back.
Authentic Thai food experience, very likely to be the best in the city. My family's go-to place for getting a taste of our second home. Verified by my mom who had whipped out her native language and started ordering for all of us. We typically had done delivery but chose to dine in this time, and it did not disappoint. Good service, the food came out pretty quickly too. Will continue to have the Thai cuisine from Lers Ros for the foreseeable future.
I'm pretty picky when it comes to Southeast Asian food because my mom is such an amazing cook. This place was awesome! I usually get the same thing, but my family loves trying new things. Lers Ros is the place to go for excellent service and top notch Thai for the family. You need to try their Thai iced tea with coconut milk.

I ordered the pineapple fried rice. It was nice.

Best Thai food in the Bay Area. Ash who works there is the best waitress. She gives really good recommendations on what on the menu you may like, is really attentive to refills, and is so sweet. Love coming here!

incredible value... poached chicken and garlic ginger rice. spicy papaya salad with shrimps... it just don't get better
Such good food, ALWAYS. Ordered Togo and it didn’t take very long at all and the food was still steaming hot when I got home. Portions are rather generous. I had the pineapple fried rice, pork pad Thai, Thai iced tea and a mango and sticky rice for dessert of course! The pineapple fried rice was literally served on half a pineapple!
Horrible place to dine in !! Not recommended
Lers Ros used to be on the lower rank for me since the food was quite pricey even if the food tastes very authentic. However, I got a chance to visit again and I found that the price is roughly same throughout these years. So it is not considered expensive in this environment anymore. Plus the food has a big portion that you can share easily. My friends especially enjoyed the deep fried catfish salad. I like the crispy pork belly stir fried with Chinese broccoli. So, Lers Ros made a comeback and becomes on the higher rank now. If you want a place to get Thai food without going to Tenderloin, this is a good choice.
The food was good but I ordered poorly (for myself). I got the classic chili paste chicken extra extra spicy. It was spicy so a positive there. That said, it contains ingredients that I believe were for flavor but not to eat. However, since I hate wasting food, I ate them. Specifically the young peppercorn. In my defense, it was a fairly small portion of food if you ignored them.
The food is most amazing and always has been since my first time in 2018 but what was frustrating is having a waitress who seems dismissive and condescending and afraid to communicate I am a customer who strongly believes in great customer service and care and I don't mind giving great tips however if the service is mediocre are not where it should be the tip will be affected I hope in the future when I returned it will be a better experience but the food is absolutely amazing the yellow curry chicken
To slow service
Excellent Thai, great service
Vegetarians/vegans BEWARE! The online order menu has a section marked "Vegetarians" which looks delicious, but when I called the restaurant, the very nice service person explained that almost every dish is made with fish sauce. They said the yellow curry is the only dish that does not have fish sauce in it. They nicely offered to make another dish without the fish sauce, but note that it seems the "Vegetarian" section of the menu is NOT vegetarian! D:
My favorite thai in the area, pad thai and eggplant tofu are 10/10
the Best Thai Resto in Bay Area.
must try❤️
Quiet, a great duck curry, and right next to the Roxie; what's not to love?
Lers Ros is an unpretentious gem that delivers on its promise of authentic and delicious Thai cuisine. The vibrant atmosphere, generous portions, and flavorful dishes make it a surefire crowd-pleaser. Whether you're a seasoned Thai food aficionado or a curious novice, Lers Ros offers a taste of Bangkok that will leave you wanting more.
My neighborhood spot, i get take out every week, food is amazing but prices have gone up insanely over the last year and portions have gotten smaller!
Legit Thai food...
worth a try, the papaya salad with duck egg was enjoyable, as was the fried pork with basil
The best Thai food in SF, for a reasonable price! I love this place. My husband and I went here for our first date, and we often go back for anniversaries, etc.
So bomb, everytime
Still slaps
Best overall Thai food in the city! Consistently tasty, high quality ingredients, well-prepared and I’ve been eating here for years.
At first glance, the menu seem typical of a Thai place with slightly higher prices but honestly it’s worth it! The portions are generous, they accommodate vegan-friendly versions of most things and it might be my favorite Som Tom outside of Thailand (shocking) Give them a try, the dishes are authentic and the care and craft for the traditional dishes sets them apart from other restaurants.
One thing I notice about lots of asian spots in the city is the excessive oil in the stir fry but not here - There’s just enough oil on the veggies and noodles without feeling overly greasy.
$79 worth of food and only one dish (a noodle dish) was decent. Ordered duck curry and I was give one small piece of meat, a small bone, and a lot of skin…sounds like a bargain at San Francisco prices, right? The Tom Yum was overly salty and not edible. If you can’t serve people proper food at your high prices, don’t serve people. Hope you enjoy that lovely photo of my lunch, skin and bone. I did a close up because I want people to see the lack of care and substance.
Excellent food, a little fancy (in a good way)
Garlic Pork and Pad Thai were fantastic!
I like Lers Ros but this one is not as good as the one on Larkin. The fish cake wasn’t as plump and juicy and the red curry had breast of chicken that was tasteless and top tough. I’m sure they make the sauce and then cook the protein inside afterwards which renders it bland. We always go back anyway.
I visited my old roommates and wanted to treat them to a delicious Thai meal. Ordered takeout from Lers Ros and got the following:
Green curry chicken - BEST
Crispy pork with Thai basil - incredible
5 spice duck - half - fire
Garlic ginger rice - great
Trout sweet and sour - excellent
Didn’t take pictures because we housed these dishes fast. Reasonably priced and decent portions. Don’t go here without trying the green curry! Also loved the lunch special, Monday - Friday 12-3pm with $17.95 two entree special. Attached the pics and menu here as well :)
Lunch specials are a great bargain. Great food.
Service is good and fast, but food is nothing spectacular
Great customer service. Such nice servers. Tom Kha was super yummy.
Really good Thai curry puffs and crab pad Thai
I really like the Thai food here, the price is reasonable, and I like the Thai tea here.
Authentic Thai food. Soup and noodle dishes are flavorful and not too spicy or sour. Overall very affordable except for one famous fried fish dish, which I didn't find particularly tasteful. The woman I was with, a B.
AMAZING pad thai, curries, soups… the green curry was like heaven on earth. Came with my aunt a few weeks ago, and had to come back with the whole family… the staff is kind as well, super ready to recommend their favorite dishes!
Got a reservation for 4 and there weren't too many people inside so it wasn't an issue at all to get seated.
Good:
- Pad see ew chicken was standard - really tasty maybe too many spices on it but otherwise was what I expected of a thai place.
Bad:
- Service takes a while - almost 20 min or more to get our dishes and the kitchen didn't seem really busy
- Really simple place, nothing super fancy and didn't really get blown away by the food quality either - simple ambiance
Overall wouldn't come back since it was your run of the mill thai place.
It taste like airport toilet water. #literally
An impressively bad dine-in experience. Everyone in the restaurant was ignored to cater to the endless to-go orders. Didn't even bother to get food. Other restaurants on the block were happy to give us attention.
Worst experience! Placed an order on Sunday night with Uber Eats to the place at 6pm. At 8:05pm the restaurant cancelled my order. They don't answer their phone either.
Horrible service! I called in to order 2 simple noodle dishes and they said it would take 20 min. It took 45 min. When I asked for eta they kept saying it’s being packed with no time given and then servers would disappear. People walked in and all 5 tables orders fulfilled before mine. Also, when I finally spoke to someone he told me the kitchen is small and the noodle dishes take a long time to make. This is absurd. I go home to open the dishes and they put the wrong protein in one of the dishes. Flabbergasted
A great Thai experience - the atmosphere is cozy, the food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. I had the eggplant chicken with brown rice, which I highly recommend. A go-to place in Hayes Valley SF.
My fave Thai spot in the city. My street cred come from working at Thai restaurant.
Ate here after read reviews on label day. Not let me down, not crowded. Happy enough for the foods and serviced.
As far as Thai places go, this place felt slightly underwhelming as the food was okay and so was the ambience. On the plus side, they have quite a few vegetarian options.
I found not one, but two long hairs in my food. Absolutely foul and disgusting, this place is not clean. The busboy said the kitchen is also filthy. The waitstaff was unfazed about the hairs and only removed that dish from the bill. The description on Google is wildly inaccurate, this place is far from sleek and upscale and needs a visit from the sanitary letter graders.
Also, when we asked the waitstaff for sake recommendations she said “no one knows because nobody drinks”. I’d hope a waiter would at least be a little knowledgeable about their menu (or hey, make something up when customers ask)
Good Thai!
I remember that I always liked Lers Ros. I used to go to the one on Larkin Street. I remember the great selection and quality.
However, today we went to the one in the Mission, and, wow, I must have either forgotten the top quality and outstanding selection before the pandemic, or Lers Ros ascended to a superior sphere, far above any other Thai restaurant in San Francisco.
What a selection, what a quality, and look at the size of the dessert. Amazing!
Got takeout from here June 14. They forgot my Thai milk tea.
- Dry tom yum noodle: ok, decent portion, lots of ground pork. The crispy pork can be more crispy. And the sauce was good, but the sweetness kinda overpowered everything else unfortunately.
- Kao Mun Gai: too much rice and not enough chicken meat. This is way overpriced for the portion of chicken you can get.
Always delicious!
They don’t respect of delivery and we are present the customer So when I ask about the food because the customer tells me to ask about his food The really bad customer service I don’t recommend it gonna waste your time

We ordered through DoorDash; the food was hit and miss. The shrimp fried rice tasted a bit strange with the octopus, but the pork belly was fantastic!
I love this place. They have three locations in San Francisco the best one for me is the one in the Tenderloin.
Currently my favorite Thai food in SF! High quality and flavorful. Spice level is high!!
Hefty portion sizes, worth the slightly more expensive costs. Flavorful and great variety. Friendly staff. Could have played some background music to liven it up inside. Great date night spot before heading out in the Mission for the night.
Unprofessional and limited stuff
I ve been waiting for more than 10 minutes in order to get helped added to that I wasn't able to understand any single words from the employees it seems that they were speaking a language other than English anyway will never come back.
Delicious frog legs!
A couple coworkers and I walked down to get lunch on our break and fully enjoyed ourselves.
There weren't many staff members on the floor, which wouldn't have normally been an issue if a particularly high-demand table hadn't been requesting all their attention.
When we were able to order it didn't take long to get our food, which was absolutely delicious.
The lunch combo offered a few options, from which I chose the red curry and garlic pork (pictured). Said combo also came with a salad (pictured) that had some of the unexpectedly most pleasant and unique dressing I've tasted in a quite a while (it tasted like a blend of mango and chile, akin to a sliced mango from a street cart).
While the flavors of the curry were good and standard to what is expected from a red curry, I felt it was slightly overloaded with vegetables to the extent that I couldn't easily get my spoon into the bowl to enjoy it (some people might consider this a bonus, but I don't order curry expecting to hack through a dense veggie thicket with my spoon). 😅
The garlic pork was phenomenal and I don't have words to do it justice.
The thai tea was deliciously standard.
I'll definitely go again if I'm in the neighborhood and feeling Thai.
TLDR;
Delicious food.
Could be understaffed.
Ordered lunch combo w/ red curry and garlic pork.
Great dressing on side salad.
Too many veggies in curry.
Amazing garlic pork.
Would recommend.
We had to throw out this food. The pepper beef was sinewy, fatty, and overall had the texture of beef jerky. Papaya salad was inedibly fishy, and the curry puffs were so dry on the outside that it seemed almost sandy. The Thais Sweet and Sour soup was the best of the order, but not nearly enough to salvage the overall negative experience. I have ordered green curry and pad Thai from there, both of which are good (we’ve ordered that numerous times). I can only recommend everyone stay far away from anything but these “basics.”
Wow ! I went there to pick up an order , and they took one hour to make an small order , is so annoying i dont recommed this place 👎👎👎👎👎 dont go! to this restaurant
My favorite Thai restaurant in SF so far. Here's perfect for group dinner, not as busy as the one in Hayes Valley. I can enjoy good food without waiting whenever I come. Everything tastes good. The fish, crab roll and mango/durian sticky rice is what we must have every time.
When we come as a group smaller than 4, we usually spend $40 per person. But if the group is bigger than 6 people, split fee is less than $30 per person.
Must try their combination noodle soup :)
Food was good
Good
This place is my new go to lunch place. The Red Curry is AMAZING and has the perfect spice. I love this place
Service was outstanding, Lisa was absolutely wonderful. Food was authentic and delicious.
Insider tip: Kha Moo is a fave dish of mine and here's a Thai restaurant that does that dish phenomally well. Every dish is amazing. And there's over 100 items on their menu. Been going to this restaurants (three locations) for over two decades and I've only been disappointed once. Maybe it was an off day. But trust. Go here.
Excellent Thai food, menu goes much beyond the standard red/green/yellow curry type items that most Thai places have. The garlic frog is especially good.
Bonito
This review is based on their noodle soups alone. Every one I've had is exceptional and full of flavor. Thai noodle soups are hard to find and this place is the only place in SF I need to go to.
Amazing food. Nice people. I always get eggplant tofu with rice and a Thai tea. Roomie gets chicken pad see ew. Lots of yums here. Can't wait to go back.
This place was good. Food was ok, not excellent but not bad, a bit too spicy for me. hostess was exceptionally polite and attentive. nice experience over all.
Incredible flavors and excellent service!
Favorite Thai place in the city
Excellent dishes, from mild to spicy!
Came here a bit late for a friends birthday, but the staff was friendly and accommodated us. I usually like pad see ew at Thai places so that’s what I usually get, but most of the food has lots of flavor. It’s not too expensive, if I remember correctly the entrees are abou $12-$15. The lunch specials seem like a good deal, but I don’t work in the city. They have a large variety of options so there should always be something for everyone. They also give a good quantity for the price.
The service was great, the food fresh and hot, the bean sprouts were the biggest crisp fresh ones I have ever had.
Good service and delicious food. Really appreciated the server recommending us not getting as many sides of rice as we wanted, because it was a lot.
Visited the church and than accidentally found this place after the church tour.
Modern interior design, friendly staff but maybe is cuz I went there after the lunch time and they’re cleaning up so the service is relatively slow.
The food isn’t the best in the Bay Area but it’s still a satisfying meal.
Delicious thai food!
Not good foods
It's a dirty place, not good food
WARNING: although they have a vegetarian menu section they seem to put fish sauce in everything. The staff were courteous and explained even the vegetarian food "isn't 100% vegetarian" and offered to replace the entrees with actual vegetarian versions.
I wish we'd seen the low food sanitary score, because my friend had a bad time in the bathroom afterwards.
The flavors were blah. I ordered the Spicy Tofu and I could only almost taste a little chili. They skimped on the basil, so the food didn't really taste like anything. I'm giving an extra star for the nice service, but the food is 1 star.
Excellent red curry
Tai Food
Delicious!
First time trying here my friend and I both enjoyed our meals. Reasonable prices. Would recommend overall.
Very good food and service
Love the rice dessert
One of three locations in the city, one of my favourite Thai eateries. Authentic flavors and spicy when you ask for it.
I love their Thai specialities. Kah mun gai (steam chicken rice), pork shoulder and rice-chilli powder and salted egg papaya salad was so delicious!
Didn't get their durian sticky rice this time but definitely order it if you still have room in your belly.
