Fresh and Authentic Thai Cuisine.
A very cute and family oriented Thai spot in Point Loma. Service is quick and very friendly. The food is exceptionally seasoned. We had a myriad of dishes and every dish was balanced and flavorful. Garnish is no after thought with lots of edible flowers covering the dishes. The food is well portioned with reasonable prices. Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Well worth stopping a visit.
This is our favorite Thai place and we can’t break away from our favorite standards because they are sooo good- Panang or green curry, screaming tiger w/thai eggplant and always summer rolls. Tonight TK made us try the new Yum Veggie Salad with mock duck and it was outta this world!! We seriously thought we were eating pork but it was mock duck. Wow! Love the Christmas decoration too! They go all out!
Upon entering for dinner my party of four were immediately greeted and sat. The lighting was dim, there was still some Christmas decor up. There were families and couples. The staff were neatly dressed to match and very kind and attentive.
Our drinks came immediately. There were Thai Iced Teas everywhere but I opted for a hot green tea.
I saw the Esarn Classic had a meat choice of “Crying Tiger” (marinated steak) which I always get at any Thai place that offers it. It’s my favorite. But I also love duck. Both dishes are more common at restaurants in SoCal than places in Washington state so I have to take advantage. Someone in my party got the Crying Tiger which I tried and recommend. I added a photo of that dish as well.
I ordered the “Duck Three Ways” which I couldn’t find on the online menu to add to this review, unfortunately. But it was divine. It is a gluten free dish that comes with three sauces: a spicy lemon-grass, sweet chili, and tamarind. They were all so flavorful and amazing. The duck was on the bone but abundantly meaty. The skin was crispy and salty while the inside was slightly tough but juicy. The vegetables were bright and added great color and texture. Each sauce complimented the duck so well. The spicy lemongrass (see photo top left) was my favorite. I loaded the pulp on and could put that on pork, steak, chicken, or fish; anything. The sweet chili (top middle) was made in house similar to the bottled but the flavor was more intense the sauce was also less dense and gelatinous which I preferred. The tamarind reminded me of the plum sauce I would normally get with duck just more tang and less floral. It was slightly sweet and what I would compare more to a variation of hoisin. If it had more garlic I might have taken it home with me. But I actually enjoyed it more with the vegetables.
Aside from parking, my experience was definitely satisfying and complete.
I recommend this place.
Always great meal what ever you may order, if something is not right, ont a problem happy to get you what you may have wanted

God takeout. Was very nice and clean inside. Food was delicious, super fast. Staff was very polished and extremely hospitable. Avocado egg rolls & drunken noodle

Food was decent. Service was chaotic.
After always wanting to try this spot the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The Server checked in after we got our food and then never saw her again: it took 20 minutes to get someones attention for the check and leave.
Get this at least twice a month. Drunken fried rice is my favorite but in saying that everything on the menu is great. Awesome food, good prices and great staff.

Really great Thai if you want something veg-forward and healthy. Eggplant delight is a go-to!
The first question is - tips are mandatory or optional? As far as I know it’s optional right? But why the hell this waiter is yelling at the customer that he HAVE TO GIVE TIPS BEFORE YOU PAY! Freaking nightmare. That’s unacceptable to yell at your customers. And customers don’t have to give you tips for your shitty service!
Loved it! Will be coming here again, ordered Coconut Thai soup, with mushrooms and chicken, I also ordered a Thai tea (low sugar) and customized with oatmilk. Waitress was very nice and helpful and made me a delicious Thai tea! Also we had a delicious dessert 🍮 deep friend banana with coconut ice cream on the side. (Forgot the name) but oh it was amazing!
Free parking, restrooms were clean and ambiance was very cozy
Wife loves Thai and loves this place.
The food tastes good, but is actually not a good spot for vegans. Very few things even in the vegetable section are vegan. This seems like a lost opportunity. There are only three vegan options in the entire menu of two pages.
The cook here will not adjust the spice in the curries. We eat Thai food very often and have only experienced this one other time, ever. As a result, we ordered dishes that were not at the top of our list and they were bland. So disappointing.
Very good Thai Food with an excellent service and good wine variety.
Favorite Thai place!!!!!!!!!
Seriously the best Thai in San Diego
Some friends brought me here. I loved the food and the atmosphere. I would come back next time I'm in town.
Muy delicioso la comida un lugar muy bonito los platillos están muy bien servidos el servicio de las meseras es muy bueno especialmente Tk muy atenta que todo esté muy bien 💯 recomendado
Ordered Spicy Beef, Pad Thai Crab, Pad See Ew, Thai Tea, Mango Iced Tea and Mango Sticky Rice.
Beef was not spicy at all even though I requested maximum spice. I would’ve liked a more tender texture, too.
Pad Thai & See Ew were good, but not great.
Iced tea was more of a mint than mango flavor, Thai Tea was nice and sweet but not too sweet.
Mango sticky rice was also good, and like the iced tea, the mangoes were sweet.
I probably wouldn’t recommend based off first impressions, but the plating and atmosphere was good.
Heel goed Thais eten! Echt Top!!!
We were looking to try something new and we came upon this thai restaurant. I ordered the Vegetable Eggrolls and Garlic chicken wings. They were both delicious and tasted fresh, the Eggrolls had this amazing crunch in the outside but soft inside. The wings were crunchy and tasted really good with sweet sauce they provided. Other items my family ordered were Chicken fried rice, spicy noodles, and chicken satay. Our server was very attentive and helpful.
Lots of flavor, very visually pleasing as well. Overall excellent, will be back!
Delicious with amazing service 😋 Had the Spicy Shrimp Chili Basil along with the Supannee Platter (shared with a friend). Medium 🌶️ spicy did not disappoint my palate. I can’t wait to go again…want to try everything on the menu!
My favorite spot in San Diego!
Really amazing pad Thai. I loved it. The coffee was also much better than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised.
The food is excellent here! I’m picky about Thai food and this is the cream of the top, arguably the best Thai in San Diego… however, the service has room for improvements. They don’t appear understaffed because I always notice more than 5-6 employees just hovering around and socializing with each other and not paying enough attention to guests. We had to wait a very long time to track someone down to take my order and ask for the check and I always notice others having to wait and wave people over. These little inefficiencies are annoying so don’t come here if you’re in a rush, but overall the food makes up for this and this is why we keep coming back. I love their crying tiger steaks and that they offer a lot of natural meat choices.
The crab fried rice is a must order, however, stay away from their Pad Thai as I think the sauce is toooo sweet and too orange, looks artificially colored. Their higher end ingredients are much appreciated and if they could nail the attentiveness and service, and improve the ambiance - like play some music sometimes, this could be a fine dining establishment.
We love love the food, ambience and customer service. Here for a week with the family and we are stuck on coming here because we love it. The duck is awesome and most places don't get it right but they have been consistent for days.
You need to try the whole fish too.
Customer service is consistently beautiful and I will be sure to return here whenever I am in town again.
Everything looked amazing. The guy server even helped w my parking questions. Some of the best I've ever had.
Rolled in from a flight and had a hankering for some Pad Thai. Supannee hit the spot. Food atmosphere, excellent food, outstanding service. Do you really want that burger and fries? You might now, but how will you feel 20 minutes after you eat it. Consider me your future self. Drop the burger and get over to Supannee.
Really tasty, and authentic
Took my wife here for a date night and the place looked really nice. We got the drunken noodles and fried rice which was bland. Luckily we got curry sauce on the side that we used to put flavor on it. A little pricey for what we got but the reason I'm giving the 1 star is the service. Our server questioned us about the dishes we ordered like we were idiots and the young lady who was cleaning table not only seemed bothered when we asked for condiments but said we needed to leave immediately after we payed. I only came here because my wife said it looked good on Instagram but honestly not even worth it. Overpriced food that is bland, after you pay get expected to be rushed out of the restaurant that's not even packed. You can find better places with better food and better prices. Won't be coming here again.
The Tom ka shrimp ( coconut soup) look really good but was a little sour I had placed an additional order to go but after the taste of changed my mind and canceled. The waitress tried to pull a fast one by saying that the order was already made.
We found the restaurant by chance and is somewhat hidden between smaller shops. The food is prepared with fresh ingredients and tastes great at a reasonable price. A clear recommendation!!
Try the mango lemonade 😋
Not sure what happened tonight but food was more salty and less flavourful than usual and chicken stringy, spongy and not breast meat. I hope this isn’t a change in quality.
Local fisherman Fresh catches every day
I wish i can give more than 5 star. This is the best of the best restaurant i ever come. I love the restaurant, the food and the servicer. She always make sure we are happy. Feel like family to me. Food taste perfect with good design. 10000000/10. So so so so so so so Love this restaurant.
Authentic Thai food with incredible curries and other dishes
We had not dined at Supannee within the last couple of years and were sorely disappointed to realize that the quality of the food had declined significantly: 1) the Tom Kha soup was thin and too salty, with too many mushrooms and nothing else. 2) The Panang curry was also thin/watery lacking their customary, formerly rich, slightly thick consistency, and the vegetable ingredients consisted almost exclusively of bell peppers (primarily the green/unripe ones). Even the Pra Ram was of lesser quality. And the head waitress was overbearing and impatient. We’ll be heading back downtown to Lotus Thai for future Thai food.
We've been coming here for many years. Very consistent and delicious!
Food very ok
This place was SO amazing! Every dish was so thoughtfully crafted and creatively presented (all paired with a beautiful edible flower) The portions were perfect, prices were very fair, the ambiance of the restaurant reflected the taste of love within the food. Highly recommend.
One of our absolute favorite places in San Diego and a clear winner for our favorite Thai food. Service is always warm and welcoming, they make you feel like family. Thai food is consistently excellent. We are happy to say that with a change in ownership of the quality has not dipped even in the slightest. We come here often and are never disappointed
Red curry was good, noodles were just okay.
Ordered white rice with my meal. Got brown rice.
The penang curry was excellent. What a delightfully random find!
Low vibe Thai food place. Food okay, nothing fancy.
Really delicious. Medium spice is pretty hot for the US, but just right. Fresh ingredients shined and the sauce was excellent.
Excelente atención, personal muy amable, muy recomendado
Wowza! This place is ABSURDLY delicious. We got a papaya salad, best I’ve had outside Thailand. We got drunken noodles - super flavorful. The BBQ chicken is gigantic and perfectly cooked with a pair of ever so tasty sauces, cause life’s too short to be dry.
Also, the service was great, the prices were very affordable, LARGE portions, and it came out quickly during dinner rush hour.
10/10
Excellent Pad Thai and great service.
Omg can't say good enough things this place is amazing the food it outstanding. The staff made me feel like they knew me for years such a great place to eat I will travel across town just to go eat some Thai food here.
Excellent taste. Portions not very big for price but not tiny, would appreciate more noodles. Great service until the awkward moment when paying and waitress hovers over you when putting in your tip on the payment system at the table.
Supannee House of Thai is exquisite. We live nearby and get it all the time. For some reason, I never wrote a review - until now.
It’s New Years Eve, and we placed an online order for pickup. Chicken Pad Thai, Green Curry with Chicken, Chicken Egg Rolls, and Spicy Beef.
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen that YouTube video, where the guy is getting put in the back of a patrol car and he’s yelling about eating a succulent Chinese meal? That would be me right now, except yelling about eating this succulent Thai meal.
Man, it is soooo good.
We’ve never eaten at the restaurant itself, but when my fiancé went to pick up the food, she said the Christmas decorations were like from that scene in Elf, where Buddy made the mall look so Christmasy.
I love you Supannee House of Thai ❤️
overall felt like a pretty mid tier thai place. there are vegan options but it felt harder to get vegan options here than most thai places i’ve been to. this is like thai food for white people. the pad thai was too sweet and too salty. everything looks pretty but taste is meh.
We went to this restaurant becasue the high review of 4.5 score. unfortunately, the foods are really salty, greasy, and not good taste at all. My stomach does not feel good after the dinner and my throat was bothered by the bad oil smells when I have Hiccups. the foods have very similar taste with very heavy oil/grease. in general, very disappointed experience. The services are ok though the waiter and waistress did not check how we were doing.
a wonderful establishment with a delightful interior. the service was perfect. and the food is incredibly delicious. I definitely recommend this place to visit. and we will definitely come back here in the evening to look at the lights. this is by far the best Thai restaurant in San Diego.
Great service and even better food, love it.
Update: I found plastic pieces in my meal! While eating. Overpriced and not very good found.
Gone downhill quite a bit , food was bland and not spicy as asked, they don’t ask what flavor anymore and I mentioned I wanted spicier like the olde days. Sweet and sour soup is just sweet and no flavor. Would not recommend.
I love Thai food and try to eat in at least one Thai restaurant whenever I am travelling on business. On my trip to San Diego I headed to 'Supannee House of Thai' and the ambiance and menu were spot on for a Thai restaurant. I was hungry so had both Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay to start, followed by Pork Pad Kee Mao. Starters were around $10 each and main dishes $15 so very reasonable. A very nice Thai meal and I certainly recommend it.
We visited San Diego two weeks ago and randomly searched this Thai restaurant, everything we ordered was great, finished it completely without a drop of curry. Back in Houston two weeks now, missing this Thai food so much Lol
Great restaurant with awesome food. The service is excellent
Whole fish (pictured is small order for $27), rockfish, great! Papaya salad, fresh and delicious, lots of peanuts, not a lot of carrots. Super! Yellow curry with chicken, thick and full of chicken. Outstanding! Crunchy shrimp? You guessed it, ON POINT! We really enjoyed lunch.
The good : nice people and good presentation. Good variety available
The not so good : food although looks very appealing is not as flavorful as you would find in many Thai places .
What we tried : Tom yum , tom kha lemongrass chicken, spicy seafood ( good ) the platter , basil fried rice . But the shrimp side that was on the appetizer platter was good
( Asian and Thai food lover for reference if that matters )
Great food and the service is excellent. One of my favorite restaurants in San Diego
Our go-to Thai place when family is in town. The food is always so fresh and delicious, and good size portions. Yellow curry, their drinks, and mango sticky rice are always a must have for me.
Absolutely love this place! Food was great and service was better! Great atmosphere! A+++
It was my first time here. Pad Thai is the best in SD. LOVE IT !!
Bland lunch today
.....love Thia food but this is my first time at this place. I'll give it another shot another day.
Great food!
i dont usually give reviews on restaurant but this one is too hard to not write one. Best Thai restaurant i ever been to, the meat fish and shrimps r suprising fresh. As a sensitive person, I can determine the fresh quality of food, and i was pretfy shock, in a good way, that the food r so fresh, the service was amazing, the waitress that i got is friendly and has great humor. Shes vietnamese just like me. Also i go here during the fish season they said, which is why i got the fried fish that they suggested IT WAS AMAZING, but would recommend if you dont use to eating fish as a whole fish, bc they gonna served the whole fish without cutting, but the freshness is 💯
Delicious Thai cuisine, everything we've ever tried has been great.
My girlfriend and I are on vacation. Our first day everything was going wrong. We ran into so many complications: almost missing our flight, flight delays, screaming babies, and a scuffed hotel.
When we got here service was kind, quick and food came out very fast. She got the pad Thai noodles, and I got the yellow curry, both are vegan options with some tweaks. Their food made us forget everything bad that had happened earlier in the day. It cured our depression. It improved our luck. This was the best Thai food I've ever had.
One of my favorite Thai food restaurants. The food is above and beyond, the dishes are prepared with attention to detail. Excellent place for vegetarians too... lots of options. I love the green bean dish. I stop by here with my friends whenever I'm in the area.
I had the Beef Pad See Ew and it was bursting with flavor!
Came here based on the reviews for some Thai. Beautiful restaurant and service was good. Server forgot to bring us sauce for the food but was super nice. We ordered the fried rice. Worst fried rice I have ever had. It la Jed flavor. $19.99 for rice with meat. Flavor was so off. Definitely do not come here for fried rice. As for the rest I’d the food including their fish it looked good and delicious.
I stopped by to get (gf) version of Drunken Noodles w Golden Tofu, on way to Shelter Island. I was highly disappointed with the flavor and the hard tofu. On way home, i thought I’d stop to let them know. Suree, restaurateur, was more than understanding & kind. She offered to either give me a refund, or make me some thing else. We settled on Red Curry Eggplant. She also threw in some Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce. They were delish! I would definitely go back & pick some of those up next time i head to Shelter Island!
Thank you Suree for your kindness!
Vegetables were good, noodles had no flavor, spice, or anything
Went down here for a pickup order. Festa was going on so it was crazy. This place was great, I worked their in highschool when it used to be a drycleaner.
I was really surprised at how delicious the food was. I love massaman curry, and it was wonderful here. The appetizers were delicious too. Service was good. They got pretty busy and it was tough to get their attention. I will be back!
When you enter the double doors, you walk into an inviting dining area with a Tri-wreath floral hanging centerpiece, hanging lamps dressed in wicker baskets and a warm greeting from a staff member. We started with two orders of fried battered calamari which came with a mustard sauce and a sweet chili sauce. For dinner, I ordered the Yum Woonsen, which was prepared with glass noodles, mined chucked, a couple of pieces of shrimp, peanuts, fish sauce and cabbage. For dessert, we enjoyed Bua Loy, sweet sticky rice balls in coconut milk. Delicious!
Exceptional whole fish. We have been to Thailand 3 times and we found this food to be great. Thanks!!
Food was alright but did notice some hygiene issues. I saw the hotel staff scrape food into a blue bin which I assume was for recycling but had no lid on it. Flies were buzzing all over it and even had some flying around our table. The bin was visible from where we sat and some dining tables were exactly in front of it. Folks were seated there probably unaware of this.
Delicious food, great service. Was walking distance to Humphreys, street parked, had dinner, then walked to show. Great vegetarian options and good spice. Would definitely go again next time we do a concert
Really good Thai. I had the mock duck panang curry and wish I lived near here so that I could go back for it weekly! Mango sticky rice was delicious - I don't care for sweet desserts and this was just right
Long wait for everything. Ordered Pad Thai definitely don't recomend unless you want super sweet noodles thank goodness i ordered veggie rolls those were the only thing that was good. Be prepared to feel rushed while ordering. Save your money and go to a Thai place you already know is good. The postive thing is drinks are like what you see in google reviews with flowers very nice looking.
Absolutely delicious food, well worth any wait (reservations a plus for dine in but probably not absolutely necessary). Staff was solicitous and friendly, answered questions about menu and gave yummy recommendations and somehow we never felt neglected even with a very full house. The only point off is not really in their control but when we went the general atmosphere was... Boisterous. Lots of very loud parties all trying to talk over each other. Not great for a date night, tolerable for a night out in general though.
Been here a few times, they change the menu semi frequently so don’t fall in love with anything that’s not a staple. Food is great, service is fantastic. It’s got a quirky yet chique atmosphere. Definitely a space that can put all sorts of people at ease
I had the garlic wings as an appetizer and the Panang curry for a main dish.
The garlic wings were perfectly cooked, ultra crispy and flavorful.
The panang curry was everything you want in a curry. Savory, creamy and delicious.
The portion size was great, the presentation was good and the service was spotless.
I was also shocked at how reasonable the meal was for Point Loma. Will return
5/5
Best farm to table Thai.
Most importantly- their food was really fantastic. Highly recommend!! And will definitely eat here again. Great quality and presentation. I would have given them 5 stars happily. The reason I am not is that when my order arrived there were no utensils or napkins. I am in a hotel with no room service so this was very frustrating. I’m not sure if it’s the app they used to allow you to place the order / it’s California and they are waste conscious (which I support ). But regardless, I didn’t see any options in the ordering process which asked me if I wanted utensils and it was was frustrating
Great food and location
Lunch on a Friday afternoon-wasn't too busy. Food was great and service relatively quick
I ordered the green curry with veggies and asked for it to be #8 hot. I was not disappointed with the heat index and the flavor of the green curry was amazing!
All decorated for Valentine's Day. Beautiful! Food was amazing!! So yummy!!
The most awful experience I ever had in a restaurant.
Horrible chewy meat
Non cooked vegetables
To spicy dish, without taste
Nothing was going
Food was decent but the service wasn't. My partner and I were helped by two servers.
We were sat and our first server didn't help us for a while. After we finally got the menu, she seemed to rush us for an order and was seemingly in a bad mood. That is, until I saw her walking from another table with a big smile on her face; she made a stern face then continued to avoid our table.
We managed to flag down another server for a drink refill and he wasn't much friendlier; he rolled his eyes after we inconvenienced him for hot oil.
Finally, our first server brought the check. She stood there with a tablet as my credit card was charged and watched me as I selected a tip percentage.
Yum

Brought my family here to celebrate my birthday. What a pleasant surprise to see our favorite server T.K. It was a plus for us to be seated at her section.
Ordered:
-Garlic Chicken Wings $8.99– crispy and full of yummy garlic.
-Mango Curry with Mock Duck $15.99– deep tasty flavor, sweet and sour, perfect combination with curry.
-Pad Thai Noodles $14.99
-Crab Fried Rice $19.99
-Nam Kao Tod $14.99– delicious! Loved the combo of peanuts and chunky tasty sausages.
-Shrimp Tom Kha $16.99– creamy.
Drinks:
-Taro Milk Tea $4.50
-Boba $0.75
Service: 5/5
What can we say about T. K. She went above and beyond. She made my birthday celebration really special. Very attentive, speedy and pleasant. As much as she was busy, always made time to come by and have a quick chat with us. Thank you, T.K.! Until next time 😄
Best Thai food we’ve had in years! Visiting from MT, had summer rolls with shrimp (delicious AND so pretty!! ate before thinking I should have taken pics, sorry!) and green curry with chicken delivered to our Shelter Island hotel. Arrived fast, hot, and stupendously delicious…but no utensils, no napkins? Seriously? Tsk, Tsk! I’d almost deduct 1/2 star for that oversight…but we will order again before we leave because it was that good!
Food was good but few of the items they were out of stocks, and it took us almost 2 hours to get in…
In my opinion it was average, not bad however my husband did not like it. But anyway it was first time he tried this kind food! The service was neutral. Employees did not smile but they're polite!
Ordered squash curry with rice. It was okay'ish and not so good. Pad ke mao tasted better. Service was good.
Horrible service , I understand if they were short on help but that wasn’t the case. The main reason I gave them a star is because it’s required. My wife ate the fish I believe it was cod and for food poisoning. I do not recommend this place at all.
Good afternoon. how much does food delivery cost?
