They gave us a half order and told us to eat the rest of the bowl with the raw meat in it... extremely unprofessional. Once getting home with our SECOND crying tiger we realized they had cooked it so long it had practically turned to rubber. What do they not understand about "medium"? We called them once again and the lady ignored our number. Called from another phone and she immediately answered. Talk about horrible customer service. We asked for our money back and she acted like she would have to talk to her boss, when we explained how food handlers should know better than this and asked if they had their food handlers card she all of the sudden became able to give us our refund right away. I will literally never come back. If I could give zero stars I would.
Waste of my time and money. Lost my appetite and can't imagine even feeding this food to my dog.

I've been searching for moo ping like the kind I had in Bangkok, Thailand, and that search ended here! The moo ping transported me back to the moment I tasted that sweet smoked pork hot off the street food grill. We also tried the fried tofu; It was nice and crispy. The Holy Basil pork dish was super savory and flavorful. The tom yum noodles were delicious as well. But the absolute winner was the moo ping. I'll be coming back for that often!

This restaurant is an order and sit counter, so do not expect anyone to come get your order!

I used to be a 'regular' at Soi OB eating lunch or dinner here since 2020. However, service ( rude, impatient, angry front of house) has changed in past year. Food quality also is now very unpredictable. At times recieved crispy rolls still frozen in center, curry no flavor, chicken raw in dishes. Kept on trying throughout 2024, but often very disappointed

4th time ordering extra eggplant in our curry to not receive any extra and paid for on receipt 😡

We went to the Soi on 30th and it was the 3rd best Khao soi I’ve ever had. Here, we came for lunch, and there was little consistency. The chicken was undercooked or left over night (or left over a couple nights it tasted like, not fall off the bone at all.) Also, we got about a 3rd of the noodles than our time before. The rule of thumb I’ve learned is if you see older Asian women cooking, it’s gonna be amazing. If not, just skip this place.

It’s ok. I’ve ordered here a handful of times and I’m less and less impressed the more I eat here. It’s also pretty expensive. No deals for locals.

I live in Hawaii now and solely travel to San Diego to get Soi OBs chicken pad Thai and banana desert wraps. This place is incredible and the service is excellent. I can’t recommend a restaurant more than Soi OB!!!!!

Very underrated Thai joint on the outskirts of OB

First time trying them. My wife and I had the lemongrass wings, cream cheese wantons and fried pork belly. Very tasty and the wantons were the best we've ever had.

I got the pad see ew with pork belly and a medium heat. The pork belly pieces were hot or miss, heat was perfect for enjoying though. The Chinese broccoli was a little under cooked, and it could use more of the smoky flavor in my opinion. My wife ordered the Khao Soi and said it was almost like what she had in Thailand. The fried noodles were a little stale though

Not sure if the people or owners are from Thailand but wow this is the closest food I've ever tasted that is resembled to authentic Thai food from Thailand. Too who ever owns this joint congratulations you've earned a life long customer to the staff thank you for your warm hospitality and hard work that goes in to everyday to make this place a delicious and comfortable environment

Ordered Basil fried rice and was thoroughly disappointed to discover a complete absence of Basil—neither sight nor scent of it to be found. The rice itself was soggy, rendering the overall taste disappointingly bland. As for the crispy chicken wings, they were passable at best. However, the batter was utterly devoid of flavor, lacking even the most basic seasoning of spice or salt. We were left to contend with what was essentially soggy, fried, tasteless chicken. The entire experience was abysmal, a culinary disaster we were unfortunate enough to encounter while passing through SD. One can only hope to never endure such a dire taste debacle again.

Always love it there. Just went there last night and I was so frazzled from a bad day and both the man who worked there and the woman at the register were so nice to me. I was being that annoying customer not able to decide on the menu. I was between curry and pad Thai and she gave me such a great recommendation to get the khao soi which is egg noodle with curry base so I kinda get both. I never had it before and I loved it and will now be part of my usual order when I want Thai.

Busy local spot. Honestly the pad Thai wasn’t the greatest but good service and locals seemed to like it so maybe I ordered wrong. They also don’t listen to your order, gave me chicken instead of tofu but oh well

Almost always order wonton soup w tofu. Add in the hottest ingredients...on the side. If you're sick..this soup will knock it out.

Don’t understand the hype. The curries are watery and they forgot the tofu in my tofu curry.

The egg rolls are obviously frozen and fried. Mine wasn’t even fully cooked. Make them from scratch!

Showed up at 8:29pm he took order in front of us, we stood there until 8:35pm and then told us they were closed. I said you close at 9pm. He said kitchen closes at 8:30, and I told him we were there since 8:29pm. He said too bad. Not the kind of guy to leave a review like that, but I’ll never go there now.

Bad service, food is very spicy.

Pad thai noodles were chewy, the chicken was dry, the peanut crumble tasted stale. The tomato paste used for the Sauce was still clumped around some of the noodles.

This place is KILLER!!! The Kee Mao here very well may be the BEST I’ve ever enjoyed. I highly recommend this place.

It feels like they put love into every plate they make. Looking around, every meal looked like it could be put in an advertisement. Perfectly garnished, seasoned, and cooked. The food also came out super quickly even though the place was packed. I got the Green Curry Noodle Soup and my husband got the Pork Pad Phet. Loved them both!

Some of the best Thai food I’ve had. We ordered a couple appetizers and a couple of entrees and everything was well made and delicious. The pineapple fried rice had complex flavors and didn’t just rely on a ton of oil to make it delicious. Highly recommend

My friend and I decided to splurge and get the family meal so we could try a little bit of everything. I’m not sure if there was an issue with our ticket bc we placed the order online, but every dish had no spice/heat at all, and I selected medium spice level for each entree when I placed the order online. Kind of bummed because each dish had good flavor but the lack of heat left us wanting more. The pork belly was delicious and the fried bananas were a good way to finish the meal. After spending $60+ after tip on our meal, it was a little disappointing honestly.

Tried to order food online April 24th, it was with a gift card. It said that the order could not be accepted, that being said the Vanilla Visa card still said pending thought for $44.XX. When I called Soi OB they said they did not receive the order. So I just figured it would be pending for a few days and the money would go back on the card. I called Vanilla gift card today and they said Soi OB approved the transaction… even though it was originally declined by their third party ordering service Toast. So I never received food and I am now out a $50 gift card, I am more upset that it ended up being approved by Soi OB and they never reached back out to me. If they return the transaction I would happily take this review down. This has nothing to do with their food as I’m sure it’s delicious, just didn’t like the chain of events that happened with my order.

Just so damn good. I was in Thailand for a month in December and the food at Soi OB was super legit!!!!

The place has 5 stars because they give you a free Thai Iced Tea if you rate it that way. The food was drowned in oil. It was so bad that I just took the $15 hit to my bank account and decided not to eat that night. Maybe instead of bribing customers to leave better reviews, they should cook better food.

Always love coming here. The food is amazing pretty much regardless of what you choose. Staff is always super friendly and inviting and love the small eatery vibe.

The pumpkin curry (Panang base) was DELICIOUS. Pad Thai sweet and sour (ask for extra limes!). Fried chicken was pretty ordinary but why would you order that even everything else was so yummy. Fried tofu was extra crispy and the dipping spice v flavorful. The Tom Yum noodle soup broth was intense and satisfying. Will def be back.

Every time I'm in town I force my brother to take me to SOI. This was my first time eating at the OB location, and it didn't disappoint. The service is always amazing and the pumpkin and panang curries are some of the best I've had. My parents absolutely loved their pad thai. The egg rolls and pork belly are delicious. I really don't think you can go wrong with anything you get here.

I ordered for pick up. paid online and when I got here the place was closed!!! Where is my food???? Unbelievable. I want my money back and compensation

The food is over priced, salty and the rice is crunchy. The girl who takes your order is worthless. She has a messed up attitude and when she messes up your order she cusses at you in thai. The food takes forever. This place is a total fail. The only reason they get good reviews is because they bribe customers with a free Thai iced tea. AVOID!

If you or your significant other questions their ability to handle spice then suggest the mild. My girlfriend is dying. The flavors were great and the portions were very generous, prepare for leftovers.

We came in for dinner and had pork belly, sticky rice, and a beef plate. The pork belly was overly salted and completely forgettable. The sticky rice was good. I asked for the beef to be extra spicy (choices were not spicy, spicy and extra spicy). It was completely inedible with a comically large amount of red pepper. I've been eating spicy food all my life and have been to Thailand and never been burnt like that. Maybe the cook was angry that day? To top off the beef really had no other discernable flavor.
Also, to go orders seem to require a ridiculous amount of plastic containers for every condiment. They can do better. Back to the Thai Time nearby.

Absolutely the best curry I have ever had!! The complex flavors and textures literally take your mouth on a journey to Thailand. It is slightly thicker and much more flavorful than what I have experienced at other Thai restaurants, more intense- similar to Indian curries.

The service was also exceptional, very efficient with big smiles. The price was very reasonable considering the portion sizes. I highly recommend this place!

Excellent Pad Thai with really good portion size in nicely furnished Thai Street Food place. My friend took the Khao Soi which was also great and really well spiced. The food comes on real plates and not on plastic single use trays which is great. The staff is friendly and the restaurant offers inside seating but also nice outside seating on nice benches. I would definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for really good and original Thai street food. Lots of vegetarian options available.

I‘m sorry to say that the Pad Thai I had was really not as good as I hoped it to be. Maybe get another dish. I liked the Thai tea with almond milk, though.
