Thai restaurant
What a great place to eat and a local gem! Great service, delicious food with some unique dishes that are a must try, and quality fresh ingredients you can taste.
Lots of parking, a few other stores to visit before or after you have your meal. Also, the staff was very friendly and attentive with quick service. Clean restaurant and a very well laid out setting with lots of space and not crammed.
Hidden gem in Eas Sac! Fresh and delicious Thai food, in generous portions!
The environment was clean and inviting. The server was extremely personable... I highly recommend this restaurant. NOTE: They could use a few A Frame signs at the major cross street and out front... the location is obscure.
First time trying River park Coconut after going to the T street location for many years . Food was excellent as always and without disappointment. We had a large group that was seated right away and promptly served in a reasonable time. Will definitely be revisiting this restaurant.
The service here was no good. I placed an order for pick up and when I walked in to get it the person at the front would not even look at me. Then I realized I hadn’t received any utensils so I asked for some and she slammed the fork down on the counter. I took my items and quietly left. I would understand if they were busy but there were a total of 4 people in the entire restaurant who had already been served. I worked food service at one point so I always do my best to be respectful and kind because I know they go through a lot. However, that kind of treatment is unacceptable. I do not recommend this place at all. Go to Thai Canteen or Thai House Restaurant instead. There’s better service and the food tastes more fresh.
We decided to try it and loved it so much we came back 2 more times in the next week. Their mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream is the best mango sticky rice we've tried here in Sac. Great service and great food. 10/10 would recommend.
Probably be back there later this week:)
The coconut is the best Thai food in Sac no questions asked. This particular spot had great service, no wait, and a cool vibe. Plates are actually pretty big so I'd recommend sharing something unless you're going for a hearty meal.
Bonus: the yellow avacado curry is bomb and full of energy
So good!
I'm so very addicted to their green curry with avocado and brown rice!!! I dive 20 miles just for this dish. It's amazing!
This had become our go to Thai because it's easier for us to get to and has the same quality food you expect from the brand. We always do take out.
I got everything I wanted gluten free. Papaya salad was spicy but so good. Pad Thai was done beautifully and the Payang Curry was Bomb

Great food. Simple and relaxed atmosphere.
Arrived at the restaurant at 6:30 pm on a Friday. There was plenty of available Shrimp Pad Thai was good. The water served at the restaurant is infused with mint and lemon. Very delicious! The fried banana with coconut ice cream came with 3 pieces of fried banana. The 2024 Paris Olympics was on the TV hanging over the bar.
The food was delicious and the service was great
Love this little place! Excellent food, wonderful staff and cozy neighborhood spot. . $2 Beer specials!
I would order pad thai from here again. I'm very particular about pad thai.
I thought the food would be the same or similar to their other locations, like Coconut on T or Drunken Noodle. I was so wrong. Worse pad se ew I’ve ever had! The noodles were much thinner than most, and there was a disturbing lack of sauce. Not flavorful, noodles lacking, so many steps below the T. I also tried the eggplant, which was ok… except I ordered it medium spicy and instead of the spice being evenly distributed throughout the dish, there was a huge glob of chili paste in the middle of the dish. Overall very disappointing and I will not be returning.

A comfortable and casual neighborhood restaurant with friendly servers. The food is delicious with high quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options too! I highly recommend the avocado curry - wow!
I have been eating here since they opened and I have never had a bad meal. All 5 stars!
Always great service here and all the other locations. The staff are friendly and attentive even when busy. Prices are still good even with the crazy inflation. Overall, some of the best Thai food for the money in this part of Sac.
Food is excellent. I like the cashew nut with either beef or chicken. I eat here often. Ambiance is very casual.

Placed an order with Uber eats and came to pick up. The person at the counter has no customer service experience whatsoever. Would not give my food that I ordered without showing her my phone with my name on it, even though I said I ordered thru Uber eats and it’s for …… checked the food and there was no utensils. Waited till she went off to take another persons order. Waited and asked do I need anything?… yes I need utensils… was handed a fork and that’s it. No napkins or anything. Food was good…. But don’t think I’ll be coming back.
This place is great. The food was delicious, and the staff was friendly. The food arrived quickly. Highly recommended
Nice and quiet place. Plenty of parking. Love the fresh rolls!
Such nice people! The food is fast, high quality and tastes amazing. Their menu is simple and nothing on it disappoints! Such a great little easy sac gem… Long time favorite me and my family!
I wanted Pra Ram Rong Song
Service was quick and friendly, always appreciated. I got the garlic fries which, honestly I couldn’t tell only because there wasn’t really any garlic in it. There were a few green onions on the top, an attempt at garnishing I’m guessing. The fries also lacked any flavor. I’ll be sure to grab some salt next time I order from here. All in all, nothing major.
This is our go to for Thai food. Good, reasonably priced, very fast, and friendly service, and consistent! I especially like the $2 cans of beer, it's fun to try new types.
This place is so good! Everything I've tried at this location or others has been top notch. I wish there was one closer to my place because when I'm craving Thai food, The Coconut is my go to.
I used to wonder why people would rave about the food at Coconut. To me, it was good but not necessarily excellent. I come here from time to time after hiking at the river; I love sitting outside under the lights and ordering basil tofu or vegetarian tom yum. Tonight I just had to leave a review. They hit it out of the park. I don't think I've ever tasted such flavorful and fresh Thai food in my life. Wow. The service is friendly and attentive as well. I'm definitely going to come back more often. Excellent work, Coconut at River Park!
So excited to find our go to Thai restaurant! Food is fresh, delicious, and plentiful. Really enjoyed the papaya salad ( would recommend mild), the avocado curry, drunken noodle, and see eww noodles. Staff of wonderful and friendly!
No frills restaurant with excellent food and full portions... staff was very helpful in navigating a full menu... I can't wait to go back...
Very affordable...
Great place. Food is amazing and the staff is fast and friendly.
Very friendly, peaceful atmosphere, and super delicious meals for a great price
Coconut's food is so tasty! Everything seems very fresh and is beautifully prepared. I really enjoy the pumpkin curry and the nutty brown rice. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the wine pour was generous. It's a small space with a cute little garden by the patio. I'm happy we have this great neighborhood restaurant.
Great Thai food in east Sacramento, I have tried green curry, pad Thai, and egg plant and they were all good 🙂😊
Got home and started eating my food then saw hairs in my food! This is only 1 pic of what I saw! I saw many more hairs! Threw away my food and will never eat here again
First time for Thai food. Glad it was here! Very good 👍!
First time here and it was wonderful. Service was great and the atmosphere was peaceful for this rainy night
Very good food highly recommend
Great service, the Yellow Curry was amazing!!!
Yummy food!! We got take out on a cold and rainy night and it was so delicious. We got one mild curry and one spicy and both were perfect.
Service was quick and courteous. Parking was easy.
Delicious food. Courteous staff. Reasonable prices. We really enjoyed it!
This food is amazing the people that work there seem to be in tune with what you need when you dine in they're not pushy and they accommodate well you get exactly what you pay for which is excellent food don't worry if it is to go it still is amazing food and the proportions are still the same I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone
I feel so lucky to have such wonderful food in our neighborhood! I would literally drive across town if I had to get this. High quality food and the portions are so large that I get 2-3 meals out of one item!
Everything tasted great and we left happy. Will be back again.
Best curry in the area. I love the outdoor dining area. They put lights and plants; made it super 👍 nice. Good wine and great food.
Great if you love Thai style curry. Really enjoyed the pumpkin red curry today. Fried banana with coconut ice cream was interesting. Been here twice so far in the last year.
Love this place and feel it is an honor to have them in our obscure little neighborhood. They need to get more traffic from CSUS and maybe sandwich boards. Anyway, all of the dishes are fantastic. Love the curries, eggplant, basil fried rice and drunken noodle. Very generous portions, super clean and very nice owners plus the food is healthy. Nice beer selection during normal times but you can buy and take with you.
Love our regular! Food is always great & prices are more than fair. Decent beer too!
Really good food. Affordable with very large portions. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Sorry, no pics. My phone was dead.
Their food is always delicious and you can taste the love! Every location they have is amazing and everyone working is so kind!

Just GREAT Thai!
Love this place! Kids love the pot stickers.
Good service but the food wasn't the best. Portions are smaller than usual and it felt not very fresh.
Great GF & vegan options! Quick tip...ask what the sauces contain before ordering.
Serving size is very good for the price.
Almost hidden location and small but great food!
The coconut is the best Thai food in Sac no questions asked. This particular spot had great service, no wait, and a cool vibe. Plates are actually pretty big so I'd recommend sharing something unless you're going for a hearty meal.

Mask are not required here apparently. No thanks
Awesome food, I could eat there every day. The panang curry specifically is the best, also love the fresh rolls.
Definitely not my first visit here..I love this place and especially this location.. It's their newest.
Best Thai food value, plus their patio is open.. Perfect for lunch on a clear day..I love their drunken noodles and veg spring rolls.. Yum
Excellent tasty food made quickly. We grabbed takeout because... COVID and it was very hot. They live up to their name as their Curry was super coconuty and amazing. We loved it and would highly recommend it and hope to go back soon! Thanks The Coconut!
Trash chicken quality and way too many filler veggies like cabbage and no broccoli
Picked up some delish bbq wings, fresh roll, panang curry, cashew nut beef on a Sat night. Thank you.
Great Thai food. Prompt friendly service. Enough food to take some home for lunch the next day. I have ordered the eggplant three times and every time I go I swear I will order something different, but I don’t. It’s that good!
Living just around the corner this place has become the go to place for Thai for my roommate and I. While we typically order out, we stopped by to enjoy their happy hour and we're not disappointed. They have a friendly staff and plenty of seating for their location. The kitchen works efficiently and gets orders out quickly. The food is full of flavor and you get a healthy portion with each dish that can definitely cover you across 2-3 meals. Highly recommend this place whether you're stopping by for takeout or enjoying a sit down dinner.
One of the best Thai restaurants in town that doesn't cost much for the amount of food served. I love the drunken noodles as well as the fried calamari. I am still working the menu and have not been disappointed yet.
Nice flavor good prices slow service
Been here several times. Always fast service. Great food. Easy parking. Decent prices. It’s a small restaurant but the wait is usually not very long for busy times. Glad to have this gem close by.
Gem of a Thai spot. Top notch Thai fare, excellent Happy Hour, perfect take out or dine in. Add lots of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options clearly marked on the menu, pretty much something for all. They offer appetizers, soups, salads, and desserts in addition to yellow, green and red curries. Their brown rice is particularly attractive and a good option to traditional white on entrees. Perhaps their drunken noodles are most popular. We especially enjoy the protein options of two types of chicken, plump shrimp, beef, calamari (either breaded or GF), fish or seafood mix making for endless combinations. Haven’t hit a dud meal yet. Sac State students haven’t yet discovered this gem but East Sac and River Park has!
River Park has been starving for a solid restaurant in this strip for years now. Unfortunately all the previous attempts have been mediocre at best. With all the excitement (and drama, it's going to open, it's not, oh wait it's open!) about The Coconut we were looking forward to opening night. Now we had expected some opening day jitters and that's what we found our first 4 visits.
Service has improved but it's still a bit uneven. The last visit we were seated quickly and food was brought out promptly. But timing is off as we had barely started our appetizers when our dinner was brought out. On previous visits the food had arrived barely warm. This time everything was hot.
Other improvements were the garlic/parmesan fries not being overwhelmed with garlic and while they were still undercooked at least now they had a bit of crisp (although not nearly enough). But since they use such a thick cut once they aren't hot it's not a good eat.
Tried all the curry and while fine the sauce was just a bit watery and flavors not well developed. The wings were good nothing to complain about except the uneven portions.
Overall a little disappointed but enough promise that we will go back in a few weeks to see if it keeps improving.
Amazing food and great service! This place is going to be a fixture of the neighborhood for a long time
Delicious, and great service
