The Coconut Is the Go-To Restaurant for Thai Food That Tastes Amazing.
Crazy food here. The food portions were huge and the service was spectacular with the constant check ups on us. Food was generally good!
Pad Thai - sweeter than usual but absolutely amazing, I loved that it was friendly for non spicy lovers and still delicious!
Green Curry - I eat a lot of Thai Green Curry and the taste was super authentic and lovely. The ingredients were generous as well.
BBQ Chicken and Mixed Vegetables - still nice, chicken BBQ flavour was a little weak, the green vegetables was oyster sauce, nice!
Tom Yum - decent at best! Too much mushrooms and lacked the usual kick of the Tom Yum. Still good tasting though!
Drinks - HUGE and Sweet! Love the Thai Iced Coffee the most!
Best part? Affordable!
The food is always fresh and consistently delicious. Not sure why its taking me this long to write a review. Im only giving a 3 on atmosphere because it is nothing fancy but clean! The staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate. Get there early on a weekend, especially on Sunday. Packs out early. I love that they have fresh flowers on the table every time I have been there. I love this location better than their sister locations on J st and in Elk Grove, but check them all out!
Authentic and flavorful!!
Quaint restaurant with the familiar and friendly Thai touch. We were greeted with smiles and delight.
Our food was served promptly and the portions were rather large which made it perfect for family-style sharing.
It’s a must-try, especially for an evening out with the family.
10/2024 friendly service. The pad thai and thai noodles soup are both delicious this time. Will visit often. Recommended.
2023 Cute place, evening lights are pretty, nice outdoors seating. Friendly service. Food favors are heavy, strong sweetness. Cheese Wontons' filings were sweet. I personally prefer dry drunken noodles. It has too much sauce. beef and veggies are cut into very small pieces. My husband tho enjoyed the sweet.
First off the most important thing the food, it was absolutely delicious. Try the pineapple coconut red curry with chicken the flavor was superb. Also got the basil chicken which had a lovely aroma and taste. As well as a few other dishes. Customer service on point they were courteous and kind and extremely helpful. It is a small place so it can't get a bit loud so just be aware if it's a full house it can be a bit noisy. To give you an idea of the price for four people including tip it was about 80 bucks so it's about $20 a person. Which compared to some other Thai places can be a little on the high side but the food was worth it and the portions were shareable.
The restaurant certainly pulls in a lunch crowd but I wish I could say I loved my food. Our dishes were not bad, just not memorable. The flavors were heavy on the fish sauce and between our Pad Thai and Thai fried rice (maybe due to the bird flu thing) didn’t see much of any egg. Our rice noodle and Thai coffee was good. One thing of note is that pork does not appear to be one of the protein options here.

My favorite Thai place in Sac! Everything is delicious and the portions are great for the price.
The Green and red curry are incredibly flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The staff is welcoming and the prices are beyond reasonable for the portions you get.
Sad how you treat people
Best Thai food in Sac by far. It gets real busy around 7pm for a reason. Come early and enjoy

A small restaurant with good service and delicious food. Definitely recommend!
Great little Thai spot just south of downtown. Nice beer list as well.

Vegetarian beware!!!
Very horrible service. Servers messed up the order: order vegetarian dishes, and it came out non-veg.
What made it worse: the waitress kept arguing, and saying fish sauce is vegetarian.
I would give 0 star if possible.
Concretely: papaya salad made with fish sauce (made with fish corpse). Drunken noodles with oyster sauce (made with oyster).
Отличное место. В инстаграм @takiedela.usa делаем обзоры таких мест.
Staff was rude and it wasn't even busy to sit us. Acted like she was under staffed and underwhelmed. The service of the food was quick, but our chicken pad see we was burnt and overly salted. Too much hosein. The shrimp 🍤 appetizer was weak in flavor, oily and soggy. The best part was probably the iced thai tea, water and company.
Great local spot for Thai . Good portions , reasonable prices, speedy service. Get their pad see ew with a beer :-)
I ordered food off of uber eats. Food came in at a timely manner. But food was horrible. It was not fresh. I ordered majority of the plates with chicken and there was hardly any chicken but veggies. I can admit the potstickers were good but everything else was horrible for 80$. Will not order from there again
Thai restaurant with friendly service, good food, reasonable price, and clean restrooms too.
Love the food here. The environment is cozy and the service is always polite inviting and attentive. My favorite is the Thai noodle soup but all of the offerings are delicious and authentic.
We have been coming here for 10+ years and love Coconuts on T! I have not had a bad dish here and we've had most of them. They have an amazing vegan selection as well.
The green curry was authentic and the portion is good. We were slightly disappointed on the papaya salad and the Thai tea was way too sweet. Service was good and all in all everything was good. we would go back and try other dishes in the future.

Always good food and service here!
Ordered chicken satay and pad se ew...
The satay was very dry/stringy/chewy.
Pad se ew was decent.
Hello,
Today, Wednesday, September 27th, around 7:30 PM, I visited your restaurant to pick up an order. Unfortunately, one of your staff members, a woman with a white t-shirt and black hair, behaved in a very rude and unprofessional manner. When I asked for her name, she acted disrespectfully and refused to provide it.
Please look into this matter and, if possible, provide her with the necessary training on how to interact with customers.
The customer service at this location is absolutely terrible, beyond anything I've experienced before. If I could give a zero-star rating, I most certainly would without hesitation. The staff's attitude and behavior were completely unacceptable, and it’s clear that there is a serious lack of training when it comes to dealing with customers. It's extremely disappointing to be treated this way, and it leaves a very negative impression. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary changes to improve the overall service at this restaurant.
Love this place. Food is consistently amazing, service is fast, very nice part of town. Affordable too.
Service, food and environment was great. Lunch time was busy and parking was limited but found parking nonetheless. Street parking only. Will return.
Have been going here for years. Always a good choice :)
Ordered a mango salad with no shrimp and was charged full price even though I didn’t get any shrimp.
Salad came out adorned with tomatoes when I stated I had a nightshade allergy. By the time they brought a new one, I was full from my main.
When I brought this up, I was told, nothing we can do. Very disappointing.
Refused to reund and cashier is condescending. You ended up with no take out with a payment. How is that happened? And restaurant doesn’t provide itemized receipt of how much each cost.
Been our go to tai place years.
Hands down best Thai food in sac. Been to THAI, Charm in east sac, even Coconut in river park. This is so great, not too sweet. So flavorful. We did green curry and chicken and then a drunken noodle with chicken. Default Spice level was perfect. Fresh roll was worth skipping but I still loved our experience. Can’t wait to be back

Nice Thai food
My favorite Thai place. Food is good services very good I love the atmosphere. My favorite is chicken cashew nut medium spicy.
Your waitress Ariana was fabulous. It was her great attitude and love of her job that made me mark excellent on all categories.
Best Thai I’ve had in Sacramento
Food is great overall and service is warm and polite. Chicken wings are a bit on the sugary side but that’s just for my tastes.
Lots of vegan and gluten free options too.
Great food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. I totally recomend it.
I ordered cashew chicken minus onions & peppers. Unlike other restaurants where cashews are very scarce, Coconut On T always has an abundance of cashews for every bite. The dish is always delicious even tho I don't favor onions & peppers. Definitely a favorite.
Consistently good food, and service.
This is one amazing restaurant, great atmosphere and delicious food. If you’re looking for Thai food in the area, this is the place to go! They have reasonable prices on food and drinks too. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here and taken various friends for their first time, because a place this good needs to be shared. A friend of mine was the one that told me about it actually, and ever since then I’ve been sharing the word as well. I also enjoy ordering take out to have for lunch and dinner! The service is excellent as well, they make you feel welcome and everyone is kind!
I recently dined at The Coconut on T, and as someone who's not typically a fan of Thai food, I was pleasantly surprised! We ordered several dishes, and each one was delicious.
The drunken noodles with chicken were fantastic, with a delightful flavor from the flame wok and basil. The eggplant with beef had a great sauce, and the eggplant was cooked to perfection. The green coconut curry with chicken was rich and creamy, with a mild curry that had just the right amount of spice. We also had veggie rolls with peanut sauce, which my girlfriend particularly enjoyed.
Portion sizes were generous, with plenty of meat compared to other places, and the service was impressively fast. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that I highly recommend!
Great food.
Coconut on the T was a fantastic dining experience! We started with the crispy fried calamari, which was perfectly golden and paired with a sweet chili sauce that added a nice kick. For the mains, we had the Khao Soi and Pad Thai with tofu. The Khao Soi was a warm, comforting bowl of curry noodles topped with crunchy noodles and fresh veggies, bursting with flavor. The Pad Thai was equally delicious, with its tangy sauce and generous tofu pieces. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a must-visit for Thai food lovers!
The food was excellent...the service was horrible.
Great food. Reasonably priced. Easy to find a parking spot
Heard good things about this place. Only been here one and tried the eggplant. It was good and large enough for two.
The Thai Basil was extremely good! They had quite a variety, so I'm definitely going back to try other dishes.
I requested utensils, chili paste and oil for my bland, flavorless potstickers, and I have not tasted anything as bland as the Thom Ka soup.
I called and all the woman said SORRY!
I, too am sorry, for wasting $50 for what was supposed to a night of joy and celebration! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM the Coconut on T AGAIN! Waste of $50!
Shrimp Tom Kha (spelling?) 10 out of 10 will eat again. $2 beer and $8 soup. Win 🏆
I’ve been trying to place an order for the past 30 minutes for delivery. Online it states that they’re not accepting delivery to all available delivery services so I contact the store and ask them. Are they not doing delivery today? Is it just pick up? She states that they are doing delivery and to try again. As I’m letting her know when I go online trying to place an order it state. That they are not taking deliveries at this time, and their next delivery is not till 4:30 PM. It is 12 PM. The lady was very rude. She just hung up the phone on me when I’m just trying to clarify can I do delivery or do I have to come to place a pick up order?
The food was amazing. Really authentic with fresh ingredients. Everything we ordered was great.
Enjoyed Thai Tea and Chicken Wings. So delicious! Go get them now!!
Always good food hot and fresh....
$2 beers are unbeatable. Great food :)
Busy place for a reason. Good food here. Came during a down pour, and it was still busy.
Online order for curry says No spicy. I like a little spice so I ordered the next level up from NO spicy. After one bit and my mouth on fire, i called and asked...I was told NO spicy means mild..... the order menu is miss-leading and now my food is too spicy for me too eat.
First time here and loved it… highly recommended
Ordered their Pineapple Red Curry with beef and all vegetables were cooked perfectly, peanut sauce on point also ordered their Papaya salad and we loved it forgot to take a picture. Their water was very refreshing, wish I had a lil more ice with it but No biggie. For desert had the fried bananas with a side of vanilla coconut ice cream not too sweet very good. Definitely will be coming back. Atmosphere was very calming
Very good Thai food, even had gluten-free options clearly indicated!
Ordered the Se Ew noodles with chicken. It’s delicious!!
Wonderful Thai food and great staff.
The food here is just awesome! I keep coming back, and I always get the same thing: Prahram chicken. I love the peanut sauce! And the food is cooked perfectly...just the right texture: the chicken is tender, and the vegetables are not over or undercooked. They don't always get the order exactly right, especially if ordered to go, but the food it's so good that I can't take off any stars.
The atmosphere is just average, nothing special. It still has a pandemic feel to it.
I should have taken my food
picture before I spread the peanut sauce, but there it is. (I ordered it without the rice).
one of the waitstaff is no nonsense and always fabulous and personable. food is always delicious and speedy. i’ve patrolled this restaurant about 5 times at various points of the day.
Food was good. Service was slow, probably because they were busy. She sat us down and didn’t bring water or take order until 10 minutes or more. Got our order pretty quick but then waitress disappeared and didn’t check in or bring us the bill. We had to go find the waitress up front and ask for the tab and request to go containers. Otherwise the atmosphere was good. Nice crowd during lunch hour.
TERRIBLE experience at this restaurant on my birthday. Staff was EXTREMELY RUDE and ARGUED with us. Food was amazing though but I wouldn't go there again due to their attitude and behavior. Please avoid this place if you want to be insulted. And they added 18% service charge on our bill directly without our prior knowledge. So basically, we paid service charge for their Rude behavior. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE.
Talk about phenomenal food along with great service, my friend Kounta @ Coconut on T will gladly help you. I mean great food and great service means this is where I get down. I love the BBQ chicken with brown rice.
Vegan and gluten-free options abound! Reasonable prices, great service, amazing food!!
Fantastic food and great service! This is a great place to get delicious Thai food.
Came here for lunch and enjoyed the Drunken Noodles and a Thai tea. The food was very good, the tea was fine, and the fall weather was perfect for eating outside. They were advertising $2 beers so next time I might see what they have available. My lunch companions enjoyed the Larb, Tom Yum soup, and both the red and green curries. The serving sizes were big and shareable if that is the route you prefer to go.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. I had to do everything myself, from getting my own water to placing my order at the front desk. To make matters worse, they forced us to pay an 18% service charge for a party of five without any prior notice in the menu or elsewhere. The attitude of the staff was extremely rude.
Sure bet for great Thai food in sizable portions. Always a regular lunch stop for me.
Definitely the best yellow curry I have ever had. Service was great. Food was fantastic! Decent price. I would totally recommend it.
Genuinely and objectively the worst pad thai ive had in 35 years of life. Im not sure if it was because it was end of the night, but i received a congealed, dry, old leftovers version of pad Thai. This is fine, whatever ill order elsewhere without complaining, BUT, what drove me to write the review was the stupid, i mean LUDICROUS amount of red pepper spice they used. I am HISPANIC. I love spice. But someone maliciously emptied an entire freaking bottle into pad thai of all things. Absolutely inedible and disgusting. I can’t believe it, no one who made that dish made it thinking it was safe/ok to eat. I will never order here again Or recommend anyone else too. That was deliberate.
One of my favorite thai restaurants in town, this location has an amazing staff and 2 dollars beers! 😊
Although the food tastes great, I heard that they treat their employees terribly, paying below minimum wage, and making an altogether hostile environment for their hard-working staff. I won't be returning until I know that they have changed these conditions and issued back pay to their employees.
Great food for the price! You definitely get your fill!
Sat outside while the waiter clearing the table. No one came over. Sat there for good 10 mins waiting for someone to come and take order. Finally I got up and walked inside and that’s when they told me I had to order inside. Thanks!
I love Thai food. I eat at least once a week. Here, the food is way too sweet, I’m pretty sure they put at least 2 tablespoons spoons of sugar for one noodle dish. Awful…
Will not return
The food is delicious, the outside patio is perfect this time of year and the staff is super friendly.
Avacado Green Curry was awesome, as well as the pineapple fried rice. Highly recommend.
One of our favorite restaurants in Sacramento! Amazing food, always friendly service.
This restaurant is the worst I can see, they serve you pure burnt food. I do not recommend to anyone
We got here about 15 minutes before closing and they were kind enough to make our meals which we enjoyed at their outdoor seating. It is beautifully shaded outside the restaurant and plenty of seating was available. The food was delicious, and fresh. We had plenty leftover. Enjoy this spot!
Great stop for dinner when meeting our nephew! It's in a cute neighborhood on a not too busy street. The food is amazing! All was good: pot stickers, fresh rolls, yellow curry avocado chicken, cashew chicken, shrimp fried rice, and the chicken pad Thai! Also, their brown rice is amazing... Excellent choice for a family dinner.
The food portions were a lot of food. I had the chicken larb salad. It was very tasty. The salad was a complete meal.
Food was delicious! Glad they had brow rice as an alternative and many vegan dishes to choose from.
Decent thai restaurant in the neighborhood, foods are a bit saltier than average.
Avocado cream cheese appetizers are bomb! Drunken noodles bomb as well
Might be the best thai restaurant in Sacramento. The mixed vegetable is surprisingly amazing (yeah, I know... Wouldn't typically be my first pick either)
Delicious foods
This is still my favorite Thai place in all of the US and how I judge others against. Generous portions of meat and seafood.
Fabulous food from super-friendly people. Quick service. No lie, this is the VERY BEST Thai iced tea I’ve ever had.
Amazing food, great service, and vegetarian friendly!
The worst food and service it was so pathetic I can’t even eat yellow curry it was taste like only turmeric and drunken noodle was so bad I would not come here next time. Bangkok thai is way better than this place. I would give 0 star for service and food.
Lovely food in a cozy place
Great quantity
Dietary restrictions friendly!! Gluten free, vegan options!!
The three of us chose to dine outside and ordered vegetarian options. When dining outside, you must order & prepay inside the restaurant at the counter.
We shared the yellow curry with fresh tofu. The eggplant with veggies & fried tofu. The drunken noodles with veggies & fried tofu. The vegetarian dishes were a bit too bland in flavor but adding the spice & nam pa (fish sauce) helped to kick it up a notch.
Hands down the best Thai food in Sacramento. Excellent flavor, large portions and cooked to perfection. Just finished up a dish of eggplant with brown rice. Everytime i visit Sacramento I stop and eat here.
Found Coconut on T via yelp.
They have a yelp check in for a $2 beer (blonde pale ale) and it is not good. Do not do it haha.
Food wise, was fine.
-beef pad see ew
-shrimp pad thai
Staff is friendly. They have a few benches outside so you can bring your dogs.
Street parking only.
I can not believe people are able to leave good, even some GLOWING reviews on one of the most racist restaurant experiences I have ever had to witness my mother go through in my lifetime. The staff was cold to her (for context, we are of Southern Asian descent), whereas any other customers (notably those of white/European descent) were treated with great respect. My mom still ordered the food, which was also coldly shoved to her by the staff. I believe the total price for all the food came out to be over $50, and for that price, I wish my mother had recalled the food instead of exhibiting solemn restraint against the rude staff.
The food was neither enjoyable nor authentic. The only dish I actually liked was the fried rice, but even that didn’t taste too great. Everything was chock full of overcooked broccoli and carrots, which threw off the balance of every single dish. The red curry had a bitter aftertaste and none of the spices were discernible. The pad see ew was bland, with dry chicken and again, no balance between the veggies and the rest of the dish. I will admit, the fried rice had well cooked shrimp and the most flavor I tasted in any of the dishes, but because of the carrots, it was still bitter.
Portions were okay, but overall the food was definitely not worth the price or the trauma. If you’re going to run a restaurant in America, a country advertising themselves as equal and just to all, and then expect to fly under the radar with racist customer service and mid-to-low-tier food to boot, then I’m sorry to say that you need to reevaluate all of your morals, ethical values, and the quality of the food you are serving.
If anyone reads this and believes for any reason that this review is unjustified or even brash, attempt to put yourselves in the shoes of a woman of color who was solely trying to order her family some food without causing any trouble and ended up being indirectly treated as if she was trash compared to customers of white/European descent. My mother could have easily called out the staff’s disgusting behavior towards her, or even fought back against it, but she stood down, and now I’m picking up the pieces and reminding the internet that yes, spiteful daughters who believe their mother deserves the world and the best treatment by everyone do exist.
Never step foot in this place, ever, especially if you are a person of color; you will most likely receive the same cold shoulder and racist attitude that my mother did today, and to reiterate, it is NOT worth it.
Thank you for your time, fellow folks of the Internet! Please stay safe, and I hope my review is thorough, detailed, and helpful :)
Excellent service! Nice atmosphere! Food is fresh, savory, and satisfying for any appetite.
The Coconut On T is a true tropical paradise nestled in the heart of Sacramento. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted by a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that instantly transports you to a beachfront getaway. The menu offers a delightful range of Thai and Southeast Asian dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors and made with fresh ingredients. From fragrant curries to flavorful stir-fries and mouthwatering noodle dishes, every bite is a culinary delight. The friendly staff provides excellent service and is always ready to recommend their standout dishes. With its tropical ambiance, delicious cuisine, and warm hospitality, The Coconut On T is a must-visit destination for those seeking a taste of Southeast Asia in Sacramento.
All the food and service was excellent 👌. Order at the counter, and friendly service! Food was delish, there wasn't anything we didn't like. Curry coconut soup, drunken noodles, yum! It's kind of a hole in the wall, super small, no parking. But we'll be back!
This place (& sister Drunken Noodle on J) are my consistent go-to spots for Thai takeout in recent years.
Excellent Thai food (vegan/vegetarian options).
Love the Spicy Basil, Cashew Nut w. Tofu, curries.
Fantastic, friendly service.
Good portions at a fair price.
If i could eat there three meals a day, I would.
This place feels like home. Friendly, helpful staff, delicious food and good portions. Many GF and vegetarian options. Drunken Noodles ordered medium had the perfect amount of kick. Spacious patio door outdoor dining. Definitely recommend!
The Coconut on T is a stable when we’re downtown for a performance. Good food for a fair price.
Strong service and quick, no nonsense ordering. Very flavorful food, very large vegetarian/vegan food selection.
the food was very tasty, I also really liked that the flowers were real (live), but inside the interior was cheap, the tables were a little dirty, and they gave us a fork in which there was old rice. I would like to put 5 stars, but the shortcomings need to be corrected, and the food turned out to be great, very tasty, bow to the chef! But they cooked for a long time, really very 🥺
By far the best Thai food in Sac and it's not even close. I've tried at least 8-10 other Thai restaurants in the Sac/Carmichael area and none come close to this place. I've stopped trying other places because they just disappoint me. My favorite is their red curry, but their pad thai and drunken noodles are also outstanding. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Thank goodness for this place. Highly recommended.
FOOD WAS GOOD MIXED VEGGIES WITH SHRIMP SAUCE WAS A LITTLE SALTY
We picked up egg plant dish with brown rice at 5:30pm. The rice was all dried up and clumped into rock-hard pebbles. You'd think they cooked it fresh at that hour, but it must've been sitting in hot pot for quite a while for it to be that dry and hard. I called and explained. She put me on hold and then asks me what it was about when she came back. I explained again and she said it's hard because it is brown rice. I lost it at that point.
We've been frequenting this place for a while now because the food is good. But the service needs to be improved. They need to throw away leftover rice because rice hardens when left sitting in hot pot for a long time, and acknowledge the problem when customers bring that up.
This has got to be one of the best Thai food restaurants I ever had! I came back to Sacramento and had to come here again! I highly recommend the chicken pad Thai and their mango sticky rice with ice cream is so delicious!
Good Thai, not very spicy. Service was fast and no nonsense. Restaurant itself is a little "rustic".
Great food
The mango sticky rice was AMAZING
Love the outdoor seating. Inside feels a bit cafeteria like. Good food and generous serving sizes. They have plentiful vegan options.
This place was delicious. I ordered cashew nut with chicken, Thai spice level and it did not let me down. Perfectly flavored food and wonderful portion without being too much. Highly recommend for the quality and quick lunch service even in what seemed like a busy restaurant.
