Modern strip-mall spot offering generous plates of classic Thai dishes, including vegetarian fare.
We posted ordered our food to go and I told them 3 stars medium spicy. When I got home, I think they dumped the entire chili bottle in the dishes. Now I eat very spicy food, but this was unbearable. It was so spicy hot that we couldn't eat the food and it ended up in the garbage. Instead of medium spicy they gave us extra hot. Both dishes were so red from the chili. That's not what medium spice level should be. It cost us $50 & it went in the garbage. Plus it was supposed to be mostly vegetable dishes with chicken and it contained mostly chicken with hardly any vegetables. It was not what I expected. If I was close by, I would have returned it.
Loved the dumplings! They were fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. The food overall was excellent, and the service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy, though a bit more lighting would make it perfect. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for authentic Thai flavors!"
An unassuming Thai restaurant that serves delicious food. I cannot stress how good their drunken noodles and fried tofu are. Would also highly recommend their coconut ice cream that is so rich in flavor. Their fried bananas though are on the more expensive side and we didn't like the way they were fried.
Their Tom Kha soup is well worth it and a small one is enough to satisfy 3 people. Their Pad Thai is a little on the sweeter side and watch out for spice. While all "spicy" items are marked with a double asterisk, there are varying levels, so make sure to ask before ordering, especially their Som Tum salad.
The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, providing lots of information. The restaurant layout is perfect for larger groups (6+).
Food is prepared rapidly and since it's in a mall, there's plenty of parking.
The service was good, thier prices and portions are reasonable, but the table was a bit sticky, and the food wasn’t that great. Lacked coconut milk flavor for Panang curry. (it was quite thick but missing the scent and taste of coconut milk), and it was very salty for our taste. Their pad see ew was the sweetest I’ve ever had. We tried the boat noodle, but the flavor wasn't to my taste. Thai dumplings were okay, their chili paste/sauce (on the table) wasn't spicy enough but pretty good.
Came here for a quick stop and enjoyed the experience! They weren't crowded at all on a Thursday afternoon when we got in.
Good:
- I got a khao soi dish and also a tom kha soup - I liked the tom kha more since the Khao soi had a weird after taste
- Papaya salad was good and sweet and savory
- The portion sizes were large
- Prices were very reasonable for lunch and the amount of food we got
Bad:
- The place was a little cramped and the seats weren't super fancy
- The place took a while to get food out
- Very casual place
Overall nice for a road trip but wouldn't come back.
Visiting from out of town so a relative suggested this place. Ordered the Pad Thai with no fish sauce, my go to dish. The noodles were mushy and the flavor was not good. Took one bite then tossed it. Also ordered the Thai fried rice(no meat) and the rice tasted like shrimp fried rice. The only thing that was edible was the fried vegetables rolls. Do not recommend this place ever. Very disappointed. Don’t eat here!
Took my mom to go eat here at Thai Spoon. This is what we ate along with what we rated the food.
1 order of chicken satay (9/10 can’t go wrong with chicken satay ever)
1 order of pineapple fried rice w/ beef (9.5/10 pineapple fried rice is always a great order for thai food)
1 order of yellow curry w/ chicken (10/10 we love some good yellow curry)
1 order of kao soy w/ calamari (8/10 First time trying this type of dish , it was alright)
2 thai teas (Typical great drink 9/10)
It's not what it used to be. Disappointed

Great/Nice tasty food . Totally worth it! Would love to visit again

Very disappointed, this used to be one of our favorite thai places in sac but today's food was unacceptable. The Tom kha was really good and we were excited to eat the other dishes but they were really gross. We took a couple bites of red curry and it was really off, my wife is currently nauseous and hoping she won't throw up. The drunken noodles look and taste like they were made yesterday, also with a weird aftertaste. The eggplant is OK but after the other food being nasty, I don't have an appetite anymore.
I saw that recent reviews were bad but refused to believe that such a good restaurant was capable of serving bad food, thought it was a fluke. We liked this place so much I even wrote a 5 star review a few years ago.
So yeah, very unpleasant, Im hoping my wife and I dont get any worse. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Everting was sticky the table the chair .
Sauce tasted like it came from a packet no home made just addd water lunch special was scoop of rice and some veggies 🥗.
I am still hungry 🤤. I am a fatty so take that for what’s its worth . Veggies had a good snap but nothing to write home about . $17.35 should of eaten Chinese food . Wouldn’t bring a date here .
If I am wanting to go on a diet I will be back

This was definitely a culinary delight. The soup was delish. The vegetables in my Curry were Crisp and fresh. New favorite place. Service was great and it's reasonably priced. 👍👍
Order online pickup Pad See Ew and coconut ice cream. The noodle dish was salty and the coconut ice cream was vanilla ice cream. Disappointed.
We had the pad thai, BBQ beef, chicken satay, and the banana with coconut ice cream. All delicious, we will be back for drunken noodles.
I was at typhoon today the atmosphere was not good no kind of hospitality and the food was not good at all the shrimp fried shrimp was okay but the rice and shrimp with bland I will not be going
Food is really good. I enjoyed their green curry. it had a nice kick and great flavor. Avocado curry was also pretty good. The pet was not my favorite definitely had better. It didn’t have much flavor. However, the Thai fried rice was pretty good. I definitely went back.
We stopped for takeout and the portions were huge! We both got a noodle dish and they also had large amoubts of vegetables in the dishes! It felt like I was eating healthy! Highly recommend for these two factors:)
Can't go wrong with the Drunken Noodle here. I order it "mild" and it comes with just a bit of heat on it (I love heat, but it doesn't love me any more so it's nice to get a heat level my body can still tolerate).
Delicious food and great service in a chill environment.
The food was great and had decent portions.
Good food and lovely decor. Went here for Valentine's dinner based on the photos and reviews. Unfortunately, the place lacks ambience. There is a television with college basketball playing at both ends which ruins the vibe. I asked if one of the TVs could be turned off and was told no, because someone is watching the game. People can watch the game on their phone or go to a sports bar. It is Valentine's Day. Beautiful aesthetic and ambience ruined by having to see a commercial of toilet paper. This is not a sports bar. Poor decision to add TVs instead of candles.
Wow! I am disappointed! It tasted overdone for us dumb Americans! Yuk!
Small thai hole in the wall! Has a very cozy atmosphere and food is absolutely delicious! The pineapple and red curry were fantastic. The chicken satay and the sauces were also very memorable. Our server, Tiffany, helped us out and was very welcoming/helpful. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the food!
Spicy Green Curry with Seafoods was absolutely delicious... you have to pay extra for a side of rice.
Pad Thai was flavorful, but the noodles were soggy.
I ordered and picked up a couple of dishes. The food was delicious. What stood out for me was the generous portions of food, taste, and it was devoid of msg. The food was not full of sodium. If you’re into spice, I would definitely recommend having them at it as the normal level is pretty mild. Or spice it up yourself! The people running the restaurant were busy but definitely served it up with smiles.
Love the pineapple fried rice and especially the roti!
The sweet and sour tofu is just OK, would not order again. Same with the orange chicken.
I had been coming here for years and I called to order food before 8:30p. I also even walked into the restaurant to place an order because their website says they close at 9. Once I arrived to the restaurant to place the order the lady told me that the kitchen is close. She explained they close their kitchen at 830. I told her they should update their website to 830 instead of 9 because that is misinforming. I let her know I called and no one answered. I will no longer give them my business. I will go somewhere else.
Food is amazing and affordable. Portions are sharable size. They have outdoor seating if you like eating outside. Also have additional condiments on the table if your food isn't "hot" enough.
It's my go to spot for Thai food. You could customize your foods spice level or do special request depending on your dietary needs.
Seating is limited so come early before the rush. They have special lunch with smaller portions on the weekdays.
Place is way too hot to eat in food portion is ok but the food is not good at all first and last time there.
This is where you go for thai food.
Generous amount of meat, cooked perfectly, tenderness overload.
Pad Thai is made in my preferred style and love the texture of the noodles.
This place judges levels of spicyness not on a traditional thai scale, more of a courteous scale.
🥲.. I messed up. 😂
My Dish came out beautiful and perfect.
I'm definitely coming back and hopefully I taste the perfect balance. This time it was too salty and sour, 😖 and not enough spicyness.
Give this place a try if you are out there searching for the best pad thai. 😁
You're more than guaranteed to come back
😌
I ordered a curry worth 18 dollars and they didn’t give rice with it. I have to order it separately. Wow! 18 dollars and no side of rice.
Had Pa-nang curry and a Tom Kah, just delicious
Awesome Thai food.We tried veg options like spicy basil fried rice, curry puff ,yellow curry, masanam curry and everything was too good Definitely a must go place if you love Thai food
They should change their timing online from 3 to 2:30 pm
Went there 2:34 they refuse to sit me any my friend down when it say clearly close from 3 to 4 and there were no customers eating inside very poor customer service
Tiffany and Craig are the epitome of great customer service. Food is excellent here but these 2 make this place can't miss! 5 stars would highly recommend.
I absolutely enjoy my chicken yellow curry! Highly recommended.
I gotta taste other dishes too.
I'm not sure if we got the wrong items but something is off with the drunken noodles. The is an off taste. The Pad Ga was okay but nothing to write home about. The veggies tasted like they were frozen and had an off flavor. The dishes all indicated that they were spicy but to me they were not. Maybe spicy if you are not one to partake in spicy food. They do offer chili oil, paste, and flakes for all spicy desires.
Best drunken noodles, pineapple curry, Thai iced tea and Thai coffee in Sacramento. Hands down.
One of the better Thai food places in Natomas.
Food is very good price are very good customers service is not that much God
I feel like something was wrong with our food. We ordered Tom Ka which was fine. Drunken Noodles and Pad See Ew were horrible. It's nice that they put a bunch of vegetables in the dishes but they tasted rotten. The noodles were soggy and inconsistently sauced. The flavours were very unpalitable. Just odd. Based off of the reviews this is not the norm.
Chicken Drunken noodles 🍜
Delicious!!! We had the Pad Cha and Avocado curry. Perfect amount of spice. Definitely recommend! Fast friendly service and clean welcoming environment.
Just delicious.
Delivery order was wrong. The pad Thai came with tofu instead of the beef we ordered, and the stir fry showed up without any rice.
Great Thai selection done well.
Good food ,served quick and nice atmosphere
We were in town for the night and unable to meet up with family for dinner, as planned. Decided on Thai food. The first two places we checked out were much less than desirable. We walked in to Thai Spoon and were greeted immediately, shown to a table, given menus and ice water. The chicken pad thai and avocado curry w/chicken were delicious, and the service was efficient and friendly.
I encourage you to check them out and Do Not go to the other two, nearby places.
Great meal. Yum!
Little pricy but soooo worth it, love their curry, chicken patai and the BBQ beef.
Poor service if you decide to dine in since their priority are the to go or online orders.
Waited almost 40 minutes to get our order and eat.
Not recommended if you're really hungry. Not advisable for diabetics and if you just got out from the gym and starved.
I enjoyed the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) this savory dish reminded me of thailand, it was very authentic. I definitely will be back for more!
Very good food.
It was the noisiest little restaurant ever and I was the only customer. The waitress and all the cooks were in the kitchen talking soooo loudly it was super annoying. They left 2 little kids to man the front entrance. This lady took my order but I never saw her again after that. A different lady brought me my food... that same lady checked on me much later when I really needed more water. After that I saw no one else but the super noisy chatter continued in the kitchen. I finally asked one of the kids for my bill... paid and then left. Poor customer service. Food was good though.
Best Thai food ever!!!
Very taste. I would recommend for vegetarian they have good options
Delicious food! Been eating here once every month or two for the last couple of years and have never been disappointed. Definitely our 'go to' Thai place
Very nice food and good service..!
This place has really good curry. They offer an option of with shrimp or calamari on most noodle or rice dishes which I thought was really good, especially if you are tired of meat or prefer seafood. Their crab fried rice is my favorite.
*** Just an update, me and my wife visit this place regularly now. Their Thai chow mein and curry dishes are seriously amazing, I think at this point we have tried every curry option and have loved each one of them.
I've been coming for this place for years, for the most part the food was pretty good then but when I came for lunch the other day my first meal was the Thai chicken wings and they were cold. We asked for medium spice we got absolutely hot won't go back
I waited almost 30 minutes before leaving. The waiter never came over to greet me. About 70 percent of the tables were empty too. The food can be alright here though...if you can get served.
Service was great and food was very delicious.
Mi lugar favorito 100% recomendable
Beat Thai food we’ve ever had. Small family owned restaurant- not a chain. Great find on way to airport!
The food is absolutely amazing! The staff is kind and friendly. I recommend this place to all who love authentic Thai food. You will not be disappointed.
Great food and awesome service!
Great little Thai restaurant.
Quality, delicious Thai food.
Kao Soi! Beef salad! Tom Yum and Tom Ka soups, drunken noodles...so full I can hardly move but it was so good I couldn't stop...and I have a whole meal of leftovers after the 3 of us pigged out!
One of the best Thai Restaurant! The food is sooo delicious. I always get their curry, fried rice, fried ice cream, chicken satay, thai iced tea, etc! I really recommend their food. The staff are also friendly and awesome customer service. The food is hot and ready in a timely manner. I go here all the time and I'm never disappointed. 😁
Good food, clean interior, and outdoor dining available.
Some of the staff did not wear masks. Food was good.
Pretty decent.
They have great food and they tea is awesome. The service is fairly good
Ordered to go but I really should've dined in. Clean dining and friendly staff. The wait wasn't long considering I ordered when I arrived. Chicken wings were super flavorful and good that I regretted not getting two orders. Drunken noodles was good as well. Definitely will return
Nice food but the restaurant is small, really like how fast they are doing take out food..
Always great food here
The food and customer service was excellent😁
I went here for lunch and got quick, friendly service. One member of my group came late, after his food arrived, and our server kindly offered to warm his food up for him! My food was delicious, especially the peanut sauce. They have a nice lunch menu with good variety and reasonable prices. I will probably be back!
Try the beef salad.
Unfortunately I have to come back to re-review Thai Spoon after some time of not having it. There must have been a manager/ chef change. Portions have been shrunk to half of what they used to be.. This wouldn't be too bad if the quality of the food hadn't dropped as well.. the BBQ beef plate was more of a plate of steamed vegetables with a side of thin sliced poorly seasoned beef. Also the sauce that came with the dish was not palpable. Then there's the issue of the sticky rice. Back then it used to come in a bamboo bowl used used steam the rice. Now they come in saran wrap which I'm assuming is pre-portioned and saved for when customers order them. This led to the center feeling very hard. The fried calimari was still top notch however.. This WAS the best Thai food hands down. The quality WAS amazing. And the quantity WAS amazing. We USED to come to this thai place countless times and we were never disappointed until now. I don't know what happened in the last 4 months but we will likely find a new Thai spot as this one isn't living up to the prices they set.
My favorite Thai restaurant.
Small resturant' but big on flavour. Try the pumpkin curry, absolutely delicious. My husband been back three times already to try the other items on the menu.
Some of the best Thai I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area again...
The quality of the food seems to have declined 🥺
Phone service was terrible, food was overpriced but it's quick?
Least favorite Thai place. Food is not flavorful. Also very high price. A small soup is $17 after tax. Small. With 1 shrimp. Just I counted.
Best Thai place in Natomas. An absolute must if looking for great fresh rolls, their peanut sauce is amazing!
Very good food. Walk up orders and the usual delivery services.
Ordered takeout for two. Portions are large, but that's about all you get for above average pricing. Surprisingly bland, and way overcooked. Pretty disappointing first time visit 😕
Amazing Thai food
Solid food and tastes good wether you eat-in or take out
My first time ordering from here. Great flavor. I would order from here again.
Unprofessional and long wait nor tell you the estimate time of order to be done.
Good food and friendly service
Love this place. Food & staff are great.
The only place I go for that food around here. Sometimes it tastes a little different, but when it is done right, it is on point.
So I found a cluster of false eyelashes in my food, the bottom of the container was want 1/2" of oil, and this had.... No taste. It was just completely bland and mushy.
Best thai I've had hands down! Favorite dish
I cant find anywhere else: Pumpkin Curry!!! The best!
Food looks great but super bland .... i regret it trying a new place like this. Shouldve just stick with bangkok thai.
Me gustó el curry amarillo. La razón por la que doy solo 3 estrellas es por la poca cantidad de carne.
Service was great, food was outstanding and the presentation was wonderful! The pricing on food was not bad at all and the food came out pretty quick
food isnt fresh, went with my wife, ordered some beef larb, papaya salad and pad thai.
Pad thai was ok but the rest was awful.
The papaya salad was way too salty, too much fish sauce in it, we had to send it back and canceled it after we both took only one bite of it.
The beef tasted "old", like old meat that has been in the fridge for weeks.
And to finish they even messed up the sticky rice, how the hell do you messed up sticky rice, it came burning hot wrapped in a plastic film and as soon as it cooled down it became hard like rice that has been sitting out for a day.
not fresh not good, avoid the place
Ordered the Duck Fried Rice to-go. Terrible. No taste. No flavor. Serving size good for 2 people. It was basically just reheated rice with left over shredded pieces of duck. Not even the white meat. It was all dark meat. Looked like scraps from other duck dishes. Terrible. Never again.
Thai BBQ chicken had no flavor no taste it was nasty and the chicken thigh huge 1 leg was big enough for 2 people & Breast was huge for 3 what type of hormones and what type of chicken are they purchasing I was afraid to eat and Beef fried rice was OK but I had to pick out the beef and throw it way because it was very super tough and old taste like it was cooked and fridge over a week ago. The age of the cow really makes a difference older ones has tougher meat and cheap.. I realized Sacramento California Restaurants are different from Los Angeles or San Francisco or New York, (NO FAVOR TASTE LIKE HOSPITAL FOOD) NEVER NEVER AGAIN FIRST AND LAST TIME JUST WASTED $30.00
Best Tom Kha in the area
Fast service. Very flavorful food. Definitely worth the time to visit Thai Spoon 👍🏻 I'll be going back for a long time
A preferred site for thai food. Nice place to meet and catch up with family. There was quick, helpful, and friendly service. This place has an awesome feel to it.
My favorite spot for delicious thai food. dropped in on mon i think. prices were average for the menu.
They double charged my card and would not issue a refund. So please be cautious when paying with your card. I'm reporting them and going through my bank to get refunded.
I love their pumpkin curry, but so far their drunken noodles and avocado curry is plain. Had a bad a experience this time around; they charge me $13-$15 additional bucks for 3 choices of meat added onto the order. Had I known or the server advised us there is no combo order; I would have selected a choice of meat. Very disappointing. The meal was not worth $30. Feels like a shady restaurant.
I'm a Thai food novice so I can't comment on the authenticity of the food. I will say that this place is turning me into a fan. They have a large menu and the yellow curry chicken with avocado is addictive and fast becoming a favorite. Their portions are large compared to other Thai restaurants I have visited. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and the servers are friendly, efficient and accommodating, and I will return whenever I'm in the area to try other dishes.
