If I lived in Sacramento, this would be my go-to Thai spot—I’d be here every week! We ordered the Laotian papaya salad spicy, and it was perfect—bold spice, bright tang, and incredibly flavorful. The drunken noodles had the ideal smoky wok flavor with just the right level of heat. The pad Thai was just as impressive, with a great balance of sweetness, acidity, and savory depth. Their chili oil was a standout—rich, fragrant, and added so much depth to every dish.
If you’re looking for amazing Thai food in Sacramento, this is the place to go!
I had the Drunken Noodles, which were great! The dish consisted of pan-fried thick rice noodles with egg, broccoli, bell peppers, and Thai basil. The mild spicy level was just right, and the dish was full of fragrance and flavor. I highly recommend it!
However, I found the Calamari to be a bit disappointing. While it was lightly fried and served with a sweet chili sauce, the flour coating was too thick, overpowering the taste of the calamari inside. I couldn't quite distinguish the flavor of the calamari itself.
We had lunch with our friends & kids during holiday. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. We parked on the street near the restaurant.
- Papaya salad: good acidity & refreshing.
- Pad thai with chicken: delicious! The noodle was perfectly cooked. The pad thai was very flavorful and we could taste the fish sauce. They gave plenty of chicken pieces. The portion was good too.
- Pineapple fried rice with chicken: my favorite! I usually prefer pad thai to fried rice but the pineapple fried rice was delicious! The rice was succulent and it had deep flavor. There were lots of tender chicken pieces too.
Overall, the taste, price & portion were good. We would be back to try different menu.
Updated review 1.5 years later:
After the pandemic, they rose their prices slightly, and portions got smaller. The food still tasted delicious, but a bit sad that their drunken noodle dinner plate was pretty small. Their curries are still one of the best I've had though. Would still reccomend this place, as the ambiance is also pretty nice.
Old review:
The curry was huge portions and actually one of the best thai curry I've had
Order bunch of food however they only entree that made sense was drunken noodles. Spring rolls too oily like they were double fried, fried tofu had no seasoning and no flavor. Yellow curry had no flavor, it was utterly disgusting and u cooked. Thinner like water with little to no tofu. Fried salmon was not so fried since it was topped with a thick saucy chunks overpowered with salt and excessive garlic that almost made me puke. Drunken noodles were half decent with good balanced flavor profile. No ambience. Just it was clean. Service was very friendly and quick which is why gave 2 stars.

I ordered takeout for lunch.
Papaya salad and chicken pad thai.
Both are 3/5. I wish the restaurant have Lao Papaya salad on the menu.
We ordered from the got 2 entrée chicken drunken noodles and the beef drunken noodles both had no flavor or seasoning try adding some but still no flavor
Best place to eat Thai food one of our favorite restaurants in town
Pra ram was HORRIBLE. Way too soupy & chicken was tough & flavorless. Just gross. Thai coffee was good tho
worst experience ever🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Went here for lunch on a weekday. Food came out almost immediately. I’ve had a lot of Thai food, and this was some of the tastiest curry I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the salmon and mango curry.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Felt very welcome. Great customer service. Food is always delicious. My #1 dine out thai food.
Awesome Thai food, have been here for a few work meetings. Food comes out fast, exactly as ordered. Great food!
The food was really good but the service not so much. Four adults and two children under 10. They left six plates and six sets of silverware at the edge of our table in a huge stack. We had to set the table ourselves, ask for napkins and to-go boxes…We could have got it to-go and saved the $20 gratuity.
A great Thai place in Midtown Sacramento! Parking is limited, but indoornis spacious and clean. Staff is nice and foods are yummy! I love the typical dishes: Panang curry, Pad see ew, Tom yum soup. Highly recommended!
Amazing food and excellent service!!!
Crab fried rice was awful at this place, they must use bad vegetables and barely any crab meat ughhhh
Small restaurant with superb food. Highly recommend for great Thai food.
I tried the green curry with chicken and rice - absolutely delicious! The service was lovely and the portion sizes enough for two. Definitely on my to-go list!
Recently changed lunch prices so beware
In my takeout there were Bits of some clear hard plastic or glass who knows at this point, in the food be careful while eating here. There’s no electricity or I would have taken pictures to upload here

Pad Thai is terrific!
Food is good but its over priced.
My phone died and I was unable activate my bank card. Mae charged my phone and the chicken wings were amazing in addition to the service. The service was above an beyond. I will be back.
Great food and superb service!!
Great
Delicious! Food was cooked perfectly. I'm not a huge fan of bell peppers or onions, and they made my dish without them. Iced coffee was great. Fast service. Would come back 100%.
I love take out from this place, the food is always tasty and ready when I pick it up.
Nice Thai people and good Thai food. Excellent Panang curry, pad Thai and tod mun.
At least I was sitting outside on a hot day
Used to come here back when I was in college and it's still just as delicious
I've been here a few times, but most recently, it was a bit disappointing. Pad thai had ZERO flavor to the point where we had to ask for salt to taste anything
No pho here!!! More cater to white people's! No offense everyone!!
Green curry is 🔥! So good 🤤
Mango sticky rice made my tastebud-ussy quake. I yearn to this day for another bite. The Kao Soi Gai was so creamy with just the right amount of spice. The pickled mustard greens added such an interesting tangy, refreshing flavor in some bites. Steamed gyozas were so flavorful. Overall very enjoyable experience.
Great experience dining here 💜
We were very excited to try this place especially from the good reviews. Customer service was disappointing and food
just ok. Khao Soi broth was good. Unfortunately, the tofu was a quite dry and tough. We ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp too which was on sweet side (which would have been fine if they provided chili paste or asked us a spice level).
Thai coconut curry served in a coconut is literally the only thing I've ordered here because it's so good it's all I want to order .
When you order take out, the food tastes as if you are given frozen vegetables from the bag and charged at a premium price. I recommend avoiding this place and trying other spots.
Great experience here. The food was fresh and flavorful! The service was perfect.
This was the first time coming here for me and I absolutely loved it. The service was excellent, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had a wonderful time with wonderful company and delicious food. I'd love to come back here again. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine.
Ordered red curry and pad thai from here on a food delivery app. Red curry was flavorful but very sweet. Added some lime to it and it tasted nice. The pad thai did not have any flavor to it and was sweet. It did not even enough salt. Overall, ok experience. 3 starts because the red curry was good (after adding lime).
Lots of crab in crab fried rice/ nice moderate heat in avo curry. Nice inside.
Fast, Friendly, and good food. Server was nice and friendly.
First time here and had a very pleasant experience! Food was fresh and delicious!
Nice Thai spot to try out for us. Good portions too.
Great food and fast service on a Sunday
Friendly staff and a well lit pleasant atmosphere!
Food was good but service was horrible. We arrived 45 mins before closing time. Even we did not finished eating, server came with card machine and told to make payment while eating. Server just wanted that we should leave. There were rats in the outside patio dining area. So hygiene has issue here. Make sure to watch your surroundings.
Update 09.01.22: downgrade from 3 to 1 stars for taking our order over the phone and being clueless 10 minutes later when i went to retrieve food ("are you sure you called us?"🙄).
Too many other Thai options within walking distance of this place to tolerate their disdain for their customers.
****
This is the Thai spot I go to when my first 3 options are closed.
Love this place
Good food with great outdoor seating.
Amazing Thai food! One of my favorites. Really clean inside and everything I’ve had has been top tier
Didn’t get to dine in there at 8:44pm while on Google and Yelp it says closing at 9:30pm :(
Why does every Thai Food place over sweeten their dish in Sacramento? Maybe they are feeding white people. I better go south like Elk Grove or Florin for authentic onces.
Food was ok, cook was heavy handed on the sugar. My pad see ew was sweet. Waiter forgot a few of our items until we reminded her at the end. Also 2 dish came out and staff didnt know which dish was thai hot and which was regular.
Came her for a celebration for my daughter's graduation. We were a party of 8 and none of us enjoyed our meals. Chicken had a rubbery texture and the curry was bland.
Definitely have to come back
The Drunken noodles were good as was the appetizer sampler, mango sticky rice and thai ice coffee. Fish cakes were okay. My main issue is with the Tom Kha. It was virtually flavorless and packaged like a curry. As you can see in the picture, it's a ton of vegetables for a soup. In fact it doesnt look like any other soup I've seen and I've been to 10 other Thai restaurants so far in the area. I don't think the people in the kitchen understood what they were doing. I was even double charged and had to get an item taken off and the soup was charged as "fried tofu". Maybe everyone was new that day and most of the other stuff was cooked well so it wasn't the worst experience. I can't ;however, recommend the Tom Kha.
Everything is overly sweet. The hottest spice is definitely not spicy.. and no drink refills the whole time we were there.. very disappointed. I came here previous to the pandemic and it was much better previously. Will not be returning here.
Love the curry mango
Food (Larb) had absolutely no flavor. My daughter ordered basil chicken and that was gross she picked the green beans from the dish the only thing we enjoyed was the steamed rice. My granddaughter did like the calamari.
Decent food
The curry was less flavorful and more watery than before
The Thai ice tea was also a bit milky for my taste
The drunken noodles were made quickly and they were absolutely delicious. I have a picky teenager and he was reluctant to take his first bite. Once he did, he devoured the entire plate. It was all I could do to get a couple of bites of broccoli and tofu.🥦🍜
The staff is kind and helpful.💗
Here's five more stars.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Service was quick and attentive. Food is good. 4/5 because they use too many fillers for there dishes. Too many string beans, onions, bell peppers etc but limited protein in each dish.
Crab friend rice was good but wasn’t up to par with what I’ve tried at other restaurants.
Our first time at this place. We got here around 5pm. Slow Saturday evening. Place was not that clean, dirty napkin on the floor. We order drunken noodles and pad se ew. The food was OK, little bit too salty. Speaking of service. This place have poor service, they need to YouTube or Google for a free customer service lesson. I gave you $5 tip plus stick a napkins into the glass just to tell you that your service is terrible.
I am so happy I found this place, the food was beyond delicious. We went on a Tuesday night so it was really slow which meant we got fast service (yay). I do not regret ordering all the food we did because every bite was worth it!
A definite must buy has to be the pad thai, drunken noodles, and basil rice (if you're stuck do not question this and pick these). The pineapple rice was okay but everyone preferred the basil rice and some didn't like it. I wouldn't get the fried tofu cuz it was squishy inside but if u like that then okie go for it. The servings were pretty big that our group couldn't finish it.
Alright food, didn’t impress.
Pad se ew - 6/10
Crab fried rice - 5/10
Slow service. Forgot appetizers.
I'll be back a thousand times. delicious!
amazing service. friendly staff. massive portions.
Food was good

Horrible place with one of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. We had a party of 7 and waited 45min to get any drinks or food served to us. I had to go complain to them twice before they paid attention. They were so occupied with fulfilling doordash online orders that they neglect the dine in customers. Food was mediocre, I don’t understand why this place got such high reviews on yelp? You locals in Sac aren’t really good being food critics are you? Come to the bay area or LA where high quality food and service is a must.
Paid 20$ for the avocado curry and it didn’t even have any avocado in it…,
Really good Thai food. We eat Thai food in every town we go for business. And not all Thai places are created equal, but we know this place will not disappoint.
Food qas great the curry was amazing
We love this place and food!
Omg please try this place. It is amazing!
Service was attentive, food was served promptly. The Tom Kha didn't have adequate lemon grass zing for my tastes. The pad thai was delicious, the spring rolls were also very good.
Amazingly good Thai with reasonable prices in the heart of sac.
So many other Thai options in town
The staff was great and food was so good! Avocado curry was a big hit.
The appetizer sampler was good.
Papaya saiad was spicy.
Everything was very good.
THE BEST THAI FOOD EVER !!!!
Great dinner! Good food!
Amazing food, one of the best Thai I have ever had in the US, across east coast to west coast. I can taste the efforts they make into preping the food. E.g. the green beans are all trimmed (like true Asian style). Wonderful experiences!
My All Time Favorite Thai Food In Sacramento! 😋 So Delicious.
Food was nice staff very friendly
Best Thai food in Sacramento!!! Love this place. Solid employees and quality
Best thai food in Sacramento!!
Not bad.
Nothing special to set it apart from other Thai places in the area. Overpriced for average quality food.
For an example of higher quality, less expensive Thai food, try Thai Nakorn in Davis.
I got 3 orders of spicy rice and chicken and none of them were spicy. I am disappointed this time But I'll probably try again
THIS PRESENTATION AND THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS

Better service since quarantine. Food is always delicious 😋
No tofu on their drunken noodle, not even an option
Best Thai food in Sacramento as far as I can tell, and I’ve been to a bunch. The staff is super friendly and they always get my order right and on time.
I can't say enough about this place. The best Thai food in the Sacramento area in my opinion...the workers are so over the top and friendly, the curry is always on point, and the green tea ice cream...man oh man some of my favorite ice cream to indulge in!
Yum
Good food always fresh and good service
Food was ok and a bit too overpriced.
So good
Food was pretty good, but not allowing dine in customers to use your restroom “due to COVID” is a foul choice. Every other dine in restaurant has restrooms open.
Ordered from DoorDash, order was confirmed and then an hour and ten minutes later the restaurant cancelled our order.
Good food except for the few very old/spoiled bites of meat i found in the pad see ew.
...disgruntled chef?
Great food!!
Amazingly good pad see ew with chicken. It was about 1/3 vegetables and had a delicious sauce. As others note, beware the spice level.
This is my number one go to in SPARKS Nevada for quick easy extremely tasty inexpensive lunch specials. AMAZEBALLS
Very flavorful. Service is great. If you can't handle to much spice just ask for mild. I highly recommend this place.
Food was really good I went for dine-in since indoors were closed due to Covid(which is good) I had to dine outdoors and there’s lot of dust as it’s right next to the street and for that I do not recommend dine-in until they open indoor..Other than that this place is clean, service is good and food is great
You can count on one meal serving two people if they are not big eaters. We were in a rush and had to grab a quick lunch and Sawassdee Thai was good
Very good Thai food in a great location.
Delicious thai tea and pad thai. Highly recommend.
Great food
N/A
Good food, but ours was packed poorly and the condensed milk from our mango sticky rice filled all of our other containers of food.
Got free boba
Sawasdee is consistently the best Thai cuisine around! I particularly like the drunken noodles and evil princess curry ... all their curries are amazing! Service is always friendly and fast ... love this place!!
My favorite Thai restaurant in Sacramento! I appreciate that if you order vegetarian curry they include zucchini, cauliflower, and broccoli with the normal potato and carrot. I always get yellow curry with veggies and soft tofu, and it's perfect every time. Staff is always friendly too!
