Colorful spot with an industrial vibe, offering an eclectic menu of Thai street food.
This restaurant is more than the stars in the universe. If you want the best experience of your life, come eat here. From the moment I walked in, sat down, served, ate, paid, it was such a laid back and enjoyable experience. The restaurant is super clean, posh, and the servers are incredible with their attitude, efficiency, and vibe. And the FOOD--is of course the reason I came, and it blew me away. I am Asian and I am impressed. Very authentic and delicious and such a beautiful presentation. I highly recommend to anyone who wants the best meal of their lives!
Wonderful spot that has excellent food and service. Tasty and hot appetizers. Variety of main dishes. Highlights were the different types of rice served, the spices used and the range of chicken choices. Noodle options looked delicious. All the food came out hot and steaming. The table was pre-bussed quickly and effectively and water refill service was prompt. A very pleasant experience. Will be back and recommending.
❌ A social media formed over-rated restaurant. They have been advertising that their curry is top rated as the best no.1 on CNN world’s best foods, while the prize was literally given to THE STYLE OF THE CURRY but not Kin Thai Street Eatery’s curry. Feeling being scammed by this misleading advertisement.
Both of my orders were tasteless. The fried chicken was dry. Not with flavor or texture. Overpriced. Waited 40 minutes for both of my orders which is ridiculous. Service was really bad on the day I visited.
Do not recommend it at all.
Ordered take out of various appetizers, curries, and noodle dishes. Food was ready on time, packed well, and stayed hot. Everything was delicious! All three curries were distinctly flavored. The crab rangoons were creamy and crunchy. All in all a wonderful experience and some of the best Thai I've had in Sac.
Wow I miss this place! The food is memorable, so much love and flavor, different from most thai I've had.
Get the kasoy here it has both soft and crunchy noodles, rich broth with coconut milk, bone in chicken meat.
The pad thai is sour with tamarind the way its supposed to be! With juicy large shrimp and tons of egg! Definitely get this if you love real pad thai (not that ketchupy sweet stuff)
Mango sticky rice isn't a craving I have at all.... until now. I want to go back for the sauce and chrunchies that made this one different!
Oh! Scallion cakes appetizer was also surprisingly different in a good way!! Looks burnt but not at all! Toasty and crispy.
Got plenty of friendly service and attention, fun street theme inside. I'm glad I looked at other review photos to try out their top dished! Yum!
Kin Thai Street Eatery is a hidden gem! The flavors are absolutely divine, with authentic Thai dishes bursting with freshness and spices. The street food atmosphere adds to the charm. Must-try dishes include their Pad Thai and Green Curry. Friendly service and affordable prices make it a go-to spot!

Amazing food!!
ABLEIST RESTAURANT DO NOT SUPPORT. I was denied service because I had my service dog with me. The server said I needed proof (I assume they meant certification) that she was as service dog. When I explained that that is illegal to require, he repeated that he would not serve me.
SUPPORT PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, don't patronize businesses that do the opposite.
LowBrau right down the street was great!!

We got some vegan dishes and they were so salty. We couldn’t even eat the mee pad see aew at all, it was so salty it burned. Vegan prik king had some crispy protein that was like fried salty air, there was nothing to chew on. Super disappointing
Food is ok and not cheap. Service was decent, the desserts I wanted all of them were out of stock. The only thing is that don't park in front of the store, some mad person came and scratched the front of my car with his keys or something while we were eating.
Decent food, but they politely asked us to leave as soon as we finished a meal. Part of enjoying a restaurant is having a conversation and enjoying company. Entrees did not all come out at the same time.
Steer clear if you’re trying to enjoy your night.
Great service and delicious food. I loved the chicken curry puffs!
the papaya salad and the boat noodle soup were delicious. be warned when they say "medium spicy," it has a kick. we didn't get to dine in, but will definitely make this a stop next time we're in town. good vibes good food
Delicious food and great service.
The food was authentic and delicious! I am thoroughly familiar with Thai food, the culture, and the country itself sooo I know what is what — lol. I really recommend the place.
I hate thai food. One night I was super hungry and didn't feel like cooking and my brother had bought me some pad Thai from here and it was so amazing that less than a week later I came in to buy more. The workers were nice and very quick, the restaurant was super clean and nice, and the food was even better. If you're like me and you hate thai food I really think you should check this place out.
Such good food and friendly staff.
I had a nice dinner here at Kin Thai.
I was very hungry as I only had eaten an apple at 10am, and it was already 6pm. So as my coworker likes to say, “my eyes be pimpin my brain” because I ordered too much food.
In my defense, the pics for the quail egg wontons showed three, and I got six! And they were yummy! The wontons were perfectly fried and the quail egg gave a nice pop to the bite.
I think even if I wasn’t ravenous, the egg wrapped pad thai could be shared between two people. I could only eat about 2/3 of the plate. The egg was paper thin, and it was fun cutting it to reveal the noodles. The shrimp was very plump and cooked just right. Presentation was beautiful!
I like a strong tamarind flavor and this pad thai didn’t quite have it. Maybe the sauce needs some more time to develop. The menu did say they cook northern Thai cuisine, so maybe it’s me who’s not familiar with this version.
It was a Monday night so it was really quiet, even with the few groups of people there. I imagine it gets more foot traffic closer to the weekend.
The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate parties of various sizes. I like the woodsy decor. And the wait staff were really nice and refilled my water often. It was scorching hot in Sac and I finished my glass often.
I’d love to come back and try one of the curries.
Great atmosphere, feels very casual yet still fancy and Instagram-worthy.
I got the Khao Soi, unbelievably tasty. And the spice is legit! Hot had me racing for my Thai tea regularly 🥵🔥
So yummy, nice place for a quick, but not too casual bite.
We stepped in to Kin Thai after having passed by the location sooooo many times, not realizing it was a restaurant. . . From the street, it's kind of hidden, so know where you are going.
Inside is wide open with lots of tables. When we arrived on a Sunday evening, we were told at the door they don't have tables available, but we could sit at the window counter. HMMM lot's of open tables though... The tables themselves are made of heavy wood and the seating is wrought iron with heavy wood (and hard) seats. Definitely NOT designed for anyone to linger after dinner. Kin Thai still uses the QR code system for placing your orders. But, they do have physical menus if you ask. Personally, I am so over the QR code menu system.
For dinner, we had:
Eggplant salad - very good
Chicken satay - pretty standard
Massaman curry beef - Excellent (ask for spicy and you won't be disappointed)
The price and the amount of food delivered was plenty for two people.
In the time we were there, the place quickly filled up, they all dined, and all left by the time we were finished with our meals. . . not that WE were lingering, but it just seems like this is how the patrons eat here. FAST...
Everything was truly delicious, and also beautifully presented. Note that the papaya salad is spicy! 🔥 Highly recommend.

khao soi really good
skip the roti
omelette looks interesting
My favorite new place to eat this summer! Amazing food, awesome staff!
Good food but I don’t know about their customer service…
I visited a Friend last week Wednesday and we decided to eat in this place , the food was ok not really traditional Thai but good dishes! But the service was terrible! Our waiter never got back and check on us to see if we need more water , if food was ok, even I have to had to stand up and look for him to get the check! He was standing behind the bar checking on his phone!!!!! I’m in a Food industry and service is so important to make your business grow!
The food was ok, for being Thai, it was Americanized, I cannot complain about the dishes we ordered, but however the service was very, very poor indeed.
The food was ok, not that good as some reviews and social media posts recommended.
Worse still, there were flies flying around us and our dishes the whole time we were having our dinner. I know flies may be a part of street food, but definitely a no no for a restaurant dining environment.
OMG, the Mango sticky rice was so delicious! And we sampled their other dessert which was a crepe cake and darn good! Our server was a nice young man and I'm definitely coming back for the sticky rice dessert!!!

Insanely good khao soi and tom yum soup with mango sticky rice with great casual atmosphere but cool interior

Ordered some Curry and the crab. Taste delicious
Such a cool place. Some of the most unique thai food i've ever had.
Love, love, LOVE this place! 😊 Best Thai food in the area, hands down!
fantastic food and great friendly service
Waiters are nice, food is amazing and the restaurant is so cute and clean.
I was craving the yellow curry from this place tough after my first time eating there with some coworkers. Everyone else loved their food too (no boxes were taken home lol) I also recommend the quail egg appetizer. My baby liked that one too. I can’t wait to try more of their menu. The service was also great each time I visited.
No time for giving recommendation. Just asked us to read menu “carefully”
This is the fourth time I went to Kin Thai. Was quite disappointed with the food. Will not go back.
Went here and was disappointed by how overpriced it is. The skewers are tiny (it’s only 2 per order), the chicken satay was incredibly underwhelming, the pieces were very small, and the peanut sauce was very runny and practically flavorless. The fried banana is so over fried that you can’t even pull the banana off the skewer, you have to chew it very hard to even get it off the stick, better to go to a Thai place in the bay. Service was terrible and staff didn’t even bring by water after the initial visit to the table. Paid way too much for tiny gourmet portions of weakly seasoned food in what is supposed to be a “street food” place. Only thing remotely worth it is the lime Thai tea and tom kha beer. The dessert on the menu is more filling than the food itself.
Tasty shrimp fried rice, crispy rolls, and hot tea make for a quick yummy meal after a couple of heavy-duty rum and coke drinks at the neighborhood bar.
Hey folks, I recently had the chance to check out this amazing Thai spot down in Midtown and I gotta say, it was absolutely off the hook. I'm not one to typically write these things, but the Yellow Curry with Grilled Seasonal Veggies at this place was next level. Let me break it down for you.
First off, the vibe of the restaurant is super chill. It's got that perfect blend of good energy and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly and on point with their recommendations. I mean, you gotta love it when the folks working there really know their stuff, right?
Now, on to the main event - that Yellow Curry with Grilled Veggies. I'm telling you, it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. The curry itself was rich and creamy with just the right amount of kick. It had this perfect balance of spices that made every bite a straight-up party for my taste buds. And those grilled seasonal veggies? Man, they were perfectly cooked and added this amazing depth of flavor and texture to the dish. It was like a dance party of flavors in my mouth, I tell you.
Also the Khao Soi and Chicken Satoy were high tier hella lit ong, best thai in sac no cap.
The portion size was solid too. I hate it when you go to a place and you get these tiny little portions that leave you wanting more. Not the case here. The serving was generous and left me feeling satisfied without being overly stuffed. I even had some leftovers to take home for the next day, which was a major win in my book.
And don't get me started on the price. I mean, for the quality of the food and the overall experience, the price was totally reasonable. I didn't feel like I needed to take out a second mortgage to pay for my meal, if you catch my drift. It's that perfect balance of high-quality food without breaking the bank.
One more thing that really impressed me was the attention to detail. I could tell that the folks in the kitchen really care about the food they're putting out. The presentation of the dish was on point, and you could tell that they took the time to make sure every element was just right. It's those little touches that really make a dining experience stand out for me.
Overall, if you're in the mood for some killer Thai food, you gotta check out this spot and get yourself some of that Yellow Curry with Grilled Seasonal Veggies. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's the kind of dish that'll have you coming back for more, and I know I'll definitely be making a return trip real soon. Keep it real, Sacramento!
The pad see ew with chicken was delicious. The noodles were thin exactly how I like it. I intend to return. Highly recommend.
Arrived at 6 pm. Took about 2 hours before the first plate arrived. The service was pretty bad with 2 employees serving the whole restaurant and lots of to pick up order. Friends in the area said they always take out and not aware that service was this bad. The employees kept apologizing to every tables tho that they are aware that the wait was over an hour. Ours was about two hours and we had a toddler with us. During the wait, no water refilling. Took 20 min to get the beer out. I feel bad for the dine in customers and the employees. They need at least a few more servers. Food is ok. Price is ok about $200 for 6 people. Street parking. Not sure if this is their normal operating conditions (or just short staff day). Most customers tonight were not happy. Definitely not worth the wait and will never return.
Has been consistently great in the all the times we've been
I love this little Thai place.
The food is delicious! I lived in Thailand for 6 months and this place has it dialed. The coconut ice cream is insanely good with the crème brûlée.
Authentic Thai street food. The Tom Kha Soup - Coconut Soup is wonderful. Delicious teas...You won't be disappointed. Very casual dining.
The calamari was very good but overly salty. The waiter was very nice and attentive. Everything else we ordered off the menu was unfortunately very disappointing. We tried the papaya salad it had huge thick chunks of veg. Pad Thai noodles were not good. I'm not sure where all the spice was, it is Thai food after all and we did say medium spice but somehow the Tom Kah with shrimp had no spice at all and seemed watery. We ordered two other items off the menu but I can't even remember what it was now it was not memorable. The Tom Yum beer was painfully underwhelming and I had really high hopes for it. Atmosphere was fine. Overall I probably won't be back again.
Good food portion...outdoors would be a good addition esp in beautiful late summer weather...staff is overall decent, can be a little friendlier :)
Northern sausage, Thai ravioli, clay pot...oh wait everything over had here is excellent.
authentic boat noodle taste!
Crab curry and Massaman curry are exceptionally flavorsome
Delicious yellow curry w/ brown rice additional for reasonable price. Id eat here again
Thai street food dining type of atmosphere in the restaurant and its clean. The food choices are plenty with that Thai street food style and it’s fresh and tasty. The presentation is great and helps with the overall flavor of the food choices. Loved the pork satay and be sure to add the stick rice with that.
This place is a hidden gem and must try!!
I was in the city visiting and came across this place on yelp and gave it a try. I am so glad I get to taste the elevated thai food. The food here is definitely better than any other thai places I have ever been to. It has a more modern and creative take. Don't hesitate to give this place a try!! Eating here was one of the highlight of my trip.
Delicious food. Had the spaghetti kee mao and the spicy beef salad. The spice is actually quite spicy. They also have an interesting selection of drinks. Had to park a few blocks away. Good neighborhood.
Seasonal dish Softshell crab really good. A lot of crab meat, sauce includes a pleasant crab flavor and hint of vege freshness.
Papaya Salad also freshing, a bit spicy, crispy papaya, pairing with crab balanced the flavor and texutre.
Tried the Thai ravioli, corn fritters, pad see ew, and egg wrapped pad Thai and it was all delicious.
Took 2 bites… already in love! Got the green curry… the flavor is on point, spice is a good 5/10 (medium) and the veggies are the right texture. They roast some of the veggies- that’s some hight level stuff right there!
Watch out for the jalapeños 🥵
Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
Thank you!
Went to Kin Thai Street Eatery last night for what I can only describe as a confusing meal. What we ordered was… fine. It in no way stood out as interesting or different.
I think this place is not what it pretends to be or does not know what it is. That it calls itself a “Thai Street Eatery” only makes sense in that there are Thai dishes on the menu and the restaurant happens to be on a street (20th, next to Peet’s).
Unlike typical street food vendors (in Sacramento but more so in the North of Thailand whose cuisine is represented here), this menu is enormous — several dense pages on a QR code link, and its dishes are absurdly expensive. What exactly about a $30 fried rice dish says “street”?
Service is typical of sit-down restaurants and was quite good, but again not associated with “street food.”
The noodle menu was the most disappointing. You’ll find Thai staples — pad kee mao, pad Thai, and pad see ew — from $16 -$25. Neither the pad see ew and pad kee mao come with wide rice noodles, though, as they only offer “fine”, or “thin”. The pad kee mao is literally “spaghetti kee Mao”.
What is Kin Thai? Fine, but an overpriced bait-and-switch.
Absolutely delicious!! The Khao Soi and the Ga Prao were amazing. So lucky to find this on Google! The neighborhood vibe is off-beat, a little artsy. Definitely recommend.
I’ve eaten here multiple times and have raved about the food to others, but the last time I went I got food poisoning. It’s almost been a week since and my stomach is just now getting back to normal. I don’t know how the kitchen let something slip like that but I started feeling sick when I was still at the restaurant. Great food, but I have to leave a 1 star for such negligence. I’ve had to call out of work and put my life on hold because of it. Maybe it was a one time thing but beware, it could happen again. Smh.
Nice little eatery but not the best Thai food I've ever had. I found everything to be a little on the sweet side for me.
Honestly excellent customer service but the food it’s just not there. The best is the boat soup and the chicken rice, all the other noodles dishes was not good at all. Clean environment for dine in and restroom was really clean. Won’t recommend this location for Thai food unless for the boat soup
One of the servers gets a little overwhelmed when there's a crowd but the food is definitely worth the wait
Very accommodating! My favorite Thai food in town
Fast and friendly service, food is great and the atmosphere is very nice.
This place is amazing in every way possible, such a nice environment and cute decor, quick nice chill service even though google said it was “busier than usual” and the food is seriously the best Thai food ever. Great specials menu. This place is the spice of life! The flavors really pop, to the cooks you deserve mad props 🔥
Boat noodles and khao soi both had flat flavor profiles with no ingredient distinction. tastes like pre-packaged food from Costco. The roots appetizer is good, but a little over-fried. In general pretty overpriced for amateur noodles. Far cry from authentic street food.
Great place for solid, consistent, and relatively authentic Thai food. It’s a regular weeknight takeout spot for us!
Food was great. I found some Thai soup that I’ve been looking for it since I was in Southeast Asia tasted amazing.
Wow! Yum! Delish! Had the Tom Yum Noodle Soup (with egg noodles) and Mango Sticky Rice to go. The soup was spicy, flavorful and comforting. The Mango Sticky Rice...oh my goodness! You MUST eat here!
I really like this place, it has so much stuff you can't find anywhere else! And almost everything I've had is tasty, they put a lot of thought and effort into their food. I love the mushroom salad, the roots, the curry puffs made vegetarian, so many great choices. The Thai iced tea options are also awesome. While the green curry is abundant with tofu and veggies and has three different eggplant varieties in it, I was a bit underwhelmed by the flavor. Love the option to do it street style with noodles and soft boiled egg, very yummy and unique! But I'll likely pass on this dish in the future. The service was where we were really disappointed. The waitress seemed nice, but was a bit passive aggressive about mistakes that were very clearly not our fault. I got chicken in my green curry and let another server know and I was really nice about it. He was really nice and took it back, and next thing I know our server comes out and says no you got the chicken you said right? My bro and I looked at eachother awkwardly and I said no, I got tofu. When she insisted I said chicken, I let her know I'm allergic to chicken so I am sure I did not. My brother knows I haven't eaten even beef or pork or other birds in 18 years, so it was awkward. It was busy when we came, maybe she was flustered. I also got the papaya salad with the salted crab upgrade. When it came, there were none so I asked to confirm and she said um I don't know because I didn't check with them let me ask. Sure enough, it didn't have the crabs and when it came back it had maybe 4-5 claws and none of the main part that you actually want. Also, no cashews which we were excited for. My tofu green curry came out mild when I asked for medium as well but it was getting late so I didn't want to wait to ask for chili on the side. We were both polite, and for the most part she was nice! But in the beginning we asked for separate checks and made sure to order separately and asked directly to have our own checks and she said ok. She brought everything on one check and when I asked if we can separate it, she had a bit of an attitude and came off a little aggressive. My bro was uncomfortable and said let it go there have been too many mistakes already so venmo me and let's go. I also asked her for two soup containers for my leftovers and was given a plastic box that turned out to not be leak proof, so there's green curry and some fish sauce based liquid from the papaya salad on my car seat. We both worked in food service before, I even stacked all of our dishes. It's too bad, and maybe it was an off day but I'll likely just order take-out here when I'm back in town.
**update** waking up with food poisoning, that's new for me from here.
Best Thai restaurant in Sacramento! They have a lot of unique items you don't find at other spots because they feature some Thai street food eats. The curry puffs, Tom yum fried rice, and fried chicken are my favorite things to recommend here.
Best Thai food I’ve had in Northern California. From the fermented ribs as a starter, to the fried chicken and spaghetti dishes… phenomenal! You won’t go wrong going here. Cheers
I tested positive with COVID as soon as I left this restaurant!
10/10 sink - just WHERE does that water go?!? Highly recommend checking out the restroom here. And don't forget to wash your hands!
real good presentation. real quality flavors. the take-out containers they gave us for our leftovers were also pretty neat! if i need to impress one of my friends, i'm going to bring them here.
Chill modern spot with amazing authentic Thai street food
my favorite place to eat thai food! my go-to orders: massaman curry, pad thai with chicken, chicken satay, thai lime iced tea (its dairy free) and chicken & rice.
Pork belly, deliciousness 😋 😍
This is pretty new but may be some of the best Thai in Sac honestly. American Thai classics with a couple more authentic options.
Nice atmosphere and delicious food! The transition from lemon zest to habanro within the papaya salad was awesome!
Best satay in town
Amazing shift on the Thai experience. The street style offerings are top quality and consistently great.
The foods do not taste like Real Thai Foods. The pork belly taste like Chinese or Vietnamese food. The pad Thai is so sweet. I prefer Basil Thai restaurant in 16th st near Rick’s Diner. Took forever to get my order, we waited 45 minutes.
If you’re new to Thai food you should definitely come here to try it. Approved by my buddy who lived in Thailand for years and has been searching for a Khao soi that reminds him of his old stomping grounds.
After two visits the only miss has been the pad thai—the noodles were undercooked and we should’ve asked for a refire but it was the end of the night.
Loves:
Curry roti
Issan sausage
Papaya salad
Boat noodles
Khao soi
Mango sticky rice
The condiment tray with chili powder, chili sauce, pickled peppers
VERY poor customer service! We wanted a beer and asked the guy (the owner) what kind of beer they had. He was clearly irritated and told us to (sic) " check the menu--I'm too busy to help you"...
He's too busy to help a customer??
He now lost 3 things that should be of prime importance to ANY business owner:
--a sale
--ANY future business from me
--any business from anyone I know or who asks me..
ATROCIOUS customer service (food was only "average" as well)
Unbelievablly rude servers. We wanted to order a beer and asked him what they have. He said, " take a look at the beer menu yourself. I am too busy to tell you." Absolutely worst experience!
Great looking place with pretty tasty food! I got the Massaman Curry and it was good, but a bit of work to eat because the chicken came bone-in. It's probably the authentic way to eat it and it was pretty tasty, but I had to work to get the bones out and eat it.
The service was wonderful and the staff was really helpful. I would definitely come here again, but probably order a different dish.
This place is incredible there is no other way for me to describe it. Ask for the extra chili thing it has four different sauces you can add.
Took way too long to bring out our food. Waited over 40 minutes for our first appetizer to come out when there were two other tables that came after use that got their food first. When asked if our food was coming out, waiter basically told us we can leave if we didn’t want to wait. Then when our food did come out, it was cold like they forgot about it and just realized what they had just done. Order the Khao soi, noodle came out soggy and our rice dish was bland and cold. Portions were tiny for the price they charged. There are better options nearby.
Great atmosphere and great food - love that they have several kinds of Thai tea too
If you're looking for authentic Thai food with a modern twist, then this place is for you. Both young and old customers were present and enjoying the delicious food. The servers were attentive, very friendly, and spot-on for providing excellent recommendations. Don't miss out on the roti! And the Thai Tea and Green Thai Tea drinks were outstanding.
Also, probably the best presentation of Thai food dishes that I have seen outside of Thailand.
I ordered the tom yum goong fried rice and Tom yum soup. The fried rice is 95% greasy fried rice with six or seven prawns, with nothing else. There’s no vegetables or eggs, and it tastes bland. No spice at all. Tom yum soup was ok but it’s $10 for a very small cup of soup. The Sawasdee Thai place across the road is better than this. Should’ve went there instead.
A bite of the Khao Soi and I was transported back to a street stall Chiang Mai. The egg noodles were cooked well and the chicken leg and thigh were tender but the start
of the show was the broth. The broth was rich but not overpowering, offering a depth of flavor that tied the whole dish together.
Friendly service and good food. The pad thai has a unique flavor and texture which I enjoyed. The hibiscus drink is very good
Delicious food. Very authentic taste and flavors. They were very generous with herbs keeping it as authentic as possible. Love every dish we ordered. The staff was very friendly.
Pork stew noodle soup has a nutty or roasted coconut aroma, not a big fan of that but it was still flavorful and delicious.
Pad keemao spaghetti was a little bit too salty, I wished they put seafood instead of sausage.
My family came here for dinner on 5/24, we ordered a few items, but it was me my wife and the baby that had food poisoning after eating the hat yai chicken. My other family member didnt eat that and they were fine. I only eat once a day so I sure that it was the food here that cause it. Initially before all this, we thought they had changed the chef because the hat yai chicken kinda taste different, didnt really have the same flavor.
Delicious Thai food with unique dishes and lots of flavor
The food here is average to good (depending on e dish) but not amazing and definitely not good enough to justify the prices.
Modern twist on Thai food, true to its roots!
This is my review after my second visit and I do plan to go more often! The place has inviting vibes, attentive service, a young team and dishes are amazingly fresh, flavorful, sometimes quirky (like the roti condensed milk dessert), but definitely unapologetically true.
The second time around, We ordered plates to share as they are quite generous and hence enjoyed more. The green curry, chicken satay and papaya salad was all we managed to eat along with the dessert. Pricing is neither cheap, nor exorbitant, you get what you pay for. The ambience and the location are huge pluses to this place, plan to visit more often.
Must try
- Cold Hibiscus tea/ juice
- Green curry
- Root basket
Sustainability score : 5/5 for no plastics or throwaways.
Kudos team, see you soon!
Lovely family. Exquisite food. Wonderful time.
Very delicious authentic flavors! Place is clean and service was friendly & helpful. Really enjoyed our experience at Kin Thai 🙏🏾
Chive cake is very odd, be prepared for both chewy and crunchy. Yellow curry had an odd combination of vegetables but good flavor of sauce. The Isan Steak dish has good flavor on the meat but the side sauce is really powerful and not in a good way.
BY FAR the best Thai food in Sac. Be sure to call ahead as they can get pretty pretty busy, especially during peak times.
Ordered for takeout after my shift in midtown. They answered the phone so quickly I didn't even hear it ring before they picked up. Beautifully packed and was given warning when holding the bag since it was pretty bottom heavy. Very impressed. I will be back but to dine in!
Busy place on Friday night, had a fun date and enjoyed our meals.
- pretty good restaurant but would try a different dish
- all of the dishes and the restaurant itself had good vibes and aesthetic
- egg wrapped pad thai: above average pad thai and wasn’t dry but falls flat in flavor complexity. a little too sour/tangy for me but still pretty good
The best Thai food I've ever had. All their food is so flavorful and so fresh. I especially love their green curry, and their curry puffs are crisp and delicious appetizers
Wonderful food! Service was excellent too, we made a last minute change to our order and the server was so accommodating! I love the ambience here and the plating made the food so much more appetizing! We ordered the chive cakes, khao soi, Tom yum soup, Tom yum fried rice, and mango sticky rice! Everything was so flavorful I didn’t even have time to take a sip of water!
Excellent Thai food! Tasty selection with great presentation.
Highly recommend Kin Thai! The food is amazing and the employees have the best customer service.
The noodle boat is Savory and the beef is soft tender but not dry at all! Just wish there’s little more broth
The special shrimp dish is absolutely delicious fried to perfection and flavorful is well balanced sweet sour
Thai ice tea is the best I ever had
The only Thai ice tea that’s not overly sweet and actually had flavor in the tea
Will definitely visit again
Inviting, modern atmosphere with good food and attentive service. All the items I’ve tried have been a notch above the average Thai restaurant in the area. The drinks and beverages are not an afterthought, the iced teas are delicious and the beer is served cold in a clean glass.
Food and interior design make the food feel so Asian-homey. It feels more Thai than the standard Thai restaurants. They have more than just the standard expected dishes in Thai restaurants, which I love.
I'm so happy that Kin is here in Midtown!
Ga prao and Thai ravioli and green curry. Honestly, nothing special at all. Very spicy and not complex or unique with the flavors. What's the big deal about this place? Pricey too.
I only come here for 1 item and it's the pad krapow with ground chicken. The taste is really amazing, it tastes really authentic and it has like a sweet slight spicy flavor. The spiciness level to this is a little spicy which makes it pretty good in my opinion but you can option out of not wanting to have the jalapeños in it since it can be a little spicy for people that who doesn't really eat spice at all but if you do like spicy it's good how it is already. I request to add cilantro which usually comes without it. The yolk from the egg is sometimes fully cooked but mostly most days the outside of the egg is fried and is still a little yolky in the center which I do actually like. Portion of the pad krapow is a pretty good amount and the same goes for the rice too. It can be a little pricey for this meal. Your looking to spend about at least 15 dollars and they take about 10-15 minutes to make the food too but other than that the food is 10/10
Absolutely exceptional! Everything we ordered was delicious
Nice place and good services too. We ordered appetizers ravioli with pok coy that's very good, but the fry chicken bit dry and massaman beef bit sweet for me.
