I don’t usually write reviews, but I’m a huge fan of Thai food, and this meal was truly fantastic. We were only in town for the day and stumbled upon this restaurant because of its convenient location. The food was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly spiced.

The yellow curry was rich and creamy, with just the right balance of sweetness and heat. The fried rice was packed with flavor and had a great smoky wok-char. The satay chicken was tender, with a delicious peanut sauce, and the curry soup was comforting and aromatic, perfect for a cool evening.

The service was warm and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made it a great spot for a casual yet memorable dinner. If you’re a Thai food lover like me, this place is a hidden gem you won’t want to miss.

Most nicest lady in customer service works there. Big portion -2 dollars or more less than the others!! Thai tea was homemade and sweet goodness. Bless this place!!

I've had both dine in and takeout and it's been wonderful every time. I've enjoyed the pad thai, pad see ew, and drunken noodles and they all were delicious. Portions are pretty big so come prepared. It felt very welcoming inside, our waiter was the best and put a smile on our face! A must if you're craving Thai food.

We ordered take out tonight for dinner (4/16/2021) and the reasoning for the 2 stars was mainly the food quality.

Service was great, friendly staff in the front who welcomed us in.

Here is a list of each food item ordered and my review:

1. Thai basil chicken: taste was okay but my goodness the amount of oil in this dish is insane! A simple dish with chicken and veggies is overwhelmed with way too much oil.

2. Drunken noodle with chicken: taste was good, not a lot of chicken and same with the basil chicken, it is a bit on the more oily side but these noodle dishes tend to be oily so it was okay.

3. Pineapple friend rice with chicken: very basic disappointing dish with very little taste. No chicken was found in the dish.

4. Eggplant chicken: this dish was the best out of the four I got. Taste was good and portion was decent as well.

Overall this place was disappointing tonight, but I'm willing to give this place another try in the future.

Why does a Thai restaurant even have food dye in the kitchen? They dyed the coconut milk to make it a "green" curry. Supposedly green curry paste is too expensive????

If you've ever had green curry it doesn't stain the chicken a neon blue. What a bunch of jokers. The beef in the salad also tasted pretty gamey. Nothing made me sick from the few bites I ate, but some folks are allergic to food dyes, and are not expecting it in their green curry!!

I go to thai restaurants and eat fried rice because I'm very basic. This was the best fried rice I've ever had. It elevated chicken fried rice to an art form.

A very homey warm place to be. Came here two months back. And the food was great but the woman here eh had an attitude. Today is the first day of new ownership, Jim was amazing. Took the time to ask me and my spouse our names. Was more than accommodating to my requests. Only problem was he made me laugh so hard I scratched my mouth with my satay skewer haha! Kinda and involved owner, amazing tasting food, and affordable prices? Finally found my go to Thai place in sac.

It was early lunch. I took my client.we were the only the ones in the restaurant but had to wait a tiny bit, we should’ve ordered appetizers but weren’t that hungry didn’t mind the wait because it was well worth it. The food was so tasteful, savory and flavorful + We both have enough to take home leftovers, and couldn’t wait to go back. Can’t stop thinking about it actually.

The BEST red curry chicken I've had! I get it spicy and man that stuff hits the spot. The staff is very friendly too.

Food is good; however, we ran into issues. Tried to order draft beer as listed on the menu, but there was no draft beer. Ordered brown rice and got white rice. Our food was brought to the table about 20 minutes after we ordered, which is fine, but it was only at that point that they delivered only one entree… notifying us that the other entree would take another 30-45 minutes to make. That could have been told to us after we originally ordered. So, we decided to cancel the other entree, eat the one we got (with the wrong type of rice), and go to Hop Gardens for pizza instead since we were still very hungry.

Very disappointed. I ordered the green curry. It was pure white, watery and tasteless. The only vegetable in the dish was eggplant. It was definitely not a curry by any stretch of the imagination. The veggie delight was pretty watery and tasteless as well. I ordered brown rice and got white. This is my neighborhood Thai place and I've had decent food here in the past, but this takeout was really disgusting and not cheap.

It's been years since I've eaten here, still amazing food, good price and ample portions. I always gotten the yellow curry(mild) with chicken and some extra rice. I like that the potatoes and carrots are cut with ridges in them. Great mouth feel and holds sauce well compared to smoothly cut veggies.

A nice little place who make authentic Thai food with wonderful flavors. If you enjoy authentic you'll like Chada Thai.

While there are some restaurants that may not offer the most exceptional flavours, they still manage to satisfy your cravings for a particular cuisine, until you find better alternatives. This restaurant does not fall into that category....

I'm genuinely amazed by the overwhelmingly positive reviews this place has received. My experience left much to be desired, starting with the chicken larb, which lacked flavor and had an unpleasantly grainy texture. The chicken wings were disappointingly salty, presumably from an excessive use of fish sauce and soy sauce in the sauce. Even worse, they managed to botch the fried rice not once, but twice! Despite ordering a total of 8 dishes between myself and my 6 family members, the only redeeming item from the kitchen was the tea.

I have never been inside of this place. I went to the veterinarian next to it. But it's Oriental food so I think that it would be good.

The meals are provided family-style. Fantastic fried chicken is the chef's speciality. Despite the fact that I am not at all a salad person, I always order their shrimp salad. They also come in a recommended peach/green tea flavor. The ambiance is quite relaxed, and the servers are also highly knowledgeable. I've sampled a lot of the menu's offerings, and I've never been let down.

The food is served family style. The chefs special fried chicken is phenomenal. I always order their shrimp salad, and I am not a salad person whatsoever. They also have peach/green tea flavor that is recommended. The atmosphere is very laid back, and the servers also provide great advice. I have tried a lot of different plates on the menu and have yet to walk out disappointed.

Not that good

I had a very bad experience here this weekend. I walked in and the restaurant was empty, there was a giant tv blasting, and there was an old sofa in the dining room with random stuff stacked up next to it. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it was flavorless, had giant chunks of soggy tofu, and only three pieces of chicken. The worst part was that the server kept sneezing and rubbing her nose and didn't wash her hands. I ended up leaving after a few bites of food. I definitely do not recommend.

We didn’t get our most expensive item in our pickup order. Nicole said she didn’t know how to give us a refund on our credit card, but if we returned the next day, she would give us our missing item and free teas. When we returned, she was rude and refused to give us our tea. I should mention that before we got home and figured out the order was wrong, we gave Nicole a big tip.

Very authentic and good Thai restaurant

I had the house soup and the broth along with everything in it was delicious at a great price! This place has great soup for the colder seasons and I have already recommended this place to coworkers. I know I will be back soon. 😊

I haven't even eaten the food yet, they are over 20 minutes late on an online order and it is a very slow night.

Amazing food

Order for online fir pick up awhile back then show up for pick up but the place was closed. I have to ask next door for reason why this place was closed! So I have to call to dispute my order from online. I haven't receive the phone call from the restaurant to explain to me why the restaurant was closed before closing time. Bad experience with this place

Very clean & neat (could do w/o the idols/graven images, but it's their establishment...). I was the only Patron 1/2 hr. prior to closing, so of course (?) Waitress was very attentive and cordial. No hot tea, but I endured. Table had a slight wobble. Dinner came quickly; hot & fresh, vegetables not overcooked. Very generous portions. Dinnerware, silverware & glassware were heavy, high quality; with heavy cloth napkin. Slightly dissapointed that seasoning/flavor was not more "Thai" tasting, but perhaps it was my choice of Entree. Also could do w/o the radio up a little too high broadcasting in a foreign language. I'll give 'em a 4.5, and if they'd "fix" the minor issues, I'd give 'em a 5.0.
UPDATE: Downgrading them to a 4.0 because I've finished dining, having partially turned towards the counter where my Waitress is "yukkin' it up" with the Cook(?) and are too busy to attend to thee (lone) Customer. I FINALY got the Waitress' attention, paid the tab, tipped her & departed.

I always make sure to stop by this restaurant when I’m in sac, and the food is always delicious. There is another place next to it called Taste of Thai that I’ve tried a couple times, but none of the dishes can really hold a candle to Chada Thai. Chada’s pad thai is so flavorful and balanced, and honestly the best pad Thai I’ve ever had. The Drunken Noodles (pad kee mao) are well seasoned and very fragrant with basil, not too greasy either. Their service is always prompt and welcoming as well. They even have ample serving sizes so I can save some for later if I wanted!

Best Thai in Sacramento

We found this restaurant while walking down Broadway, and the food was really delicious! Everyone was super sweet to our little one year old who was very wiggly the whole time. We ordered her steamed tofu which she loved. Next time we're downtown, we'll be back.

The thai curry is ultimate. Basil fried rice was really good. The dine in area is minimalist with paintings and gives a cozy feeling. However the outdoor seating isn't much great.

Not a place to go for lunch. You can only order large items individually. It would e been ok if the food was good but it wasn't.

Calamari was way over cooked. The noodles in my Pad Kao were mushy. Not worth what I spent.

The calamari was horrible super chewy and the moo grob was not in my opinion good the spice was there but did not sit well and also horribly packaged

Excellent Thai. My Son took me there for lunch and I enjoyed it so very much! And the mango sticky rice. Delish.

Excellent food and friendly service at a reasonable price. What more could one ask for? Just remember to state spice level when ordering, because they often forget to ask. I haven't had anything here yet that I didn't really enjoy!

Okayyyy I used to come here all the time about 2 years ago and went today the avocado curry WAS the best thing. Check the reviews, don't be fooled though its completely different now, no eggplant, pure liquid , just overall I'm sure the owners are different. It's not nasty but it is 120% not what you think if you are coming for avocado curry. Maybe just call it yellow curry with avocado.

I was quarantined due to travel and was having to eat alone on Thanksgiving. It was late and almost all restaurants were closed. I ordered from Chada right before they closed, hoping my order would go through. Not only did it go through, but my driver texted me ahead to tell me that the restaurant was sending me a “present”. When the driver arrived, he had a whole other bag of food waiting for me — rolls, and rice and another full meal. I couldn’t believe it. So generous and I now refer to it as the Thanksgiving Miracle as it was much needed and greatly appreciated. It didn’t hurt that all the food was amazing and delicious. Thank you Chada!

The Grubhub driver that wrote the awful review down below was the girl who delivered me the wrong order and was very unprofessional but the restaurant made it right for me and remade my order very quickly! Can only speak to takeout right now, but I love the pad thai and egg rolls! The pad thai has a great mix of complex flavors and textures no matter what protein you get, though I'm partial to shrimp or chicken. The egg rolls were crispy without being greasy and the plum sauce was subtly sweet, not overbearing. The staff have been friendly every time I've picked up my order, too. I can't wait to dine in and look forward to trying more dishes!

Friday night. Called before 6:00 for two item takeout. 15 minutes they said. Walked in. Two tables seated. No one else. It's now been 40 minutes later. No sign of the food....I'm hungry.

One of my favorite places for authentic Thai cuisine. We have been going here for many years and it never disappoints. Excellent food (especially the curries) and prompt and polite service every time. I consider it Sacramento’s best kept secret for Thai food.

Update: New management. They are not the same. I may try again if they work out the opening details. They did not have my favorite duck curry that day, shrimp were not deveined in the soup, and the beef salad had tough beef. It used to be shaved and tender.

Best Thai food I've had in Norcal hands down. Try the duck curry and beef salad or shrimp lemongrass soup. Superb.

Delicious & Excellent customer service! We will be returning to eat here again. We had the yello curry, not spicy but thick and very flavorful and the asparagus chicken lunch plate which was full of other veggies along with the asparagus & chicken. Thai iced tea is a must!

The food was really good. My wife ordered a chef’s special which was way too spicy for her and asked for replacement- they charged us for it! They said since they used a fish they have to charge it. Other then this, everything else was awesome.

I love Chada Thai! The mango curry is sooooo yummy, and so is the lemongrass beef. My sister loves the avocado curry. The service is quick so it's a great lunch spot if you have limited time.

Thai food should not be this bland. My dad and I had drunken noodles with pork and green curry with chicken; my daughter had chicken satay and fried calamari. Of those, the chicken satay was decently flavorful, and the green curry had some nice coconut flavor but not much spice. The calamari was especially bland and rubbery, and coated in a heavy, greasy batter. For dessert we had mango and sticky rice. The mango was good, but the rice was dry and hard.

Service was OK, and the restaurant was reasonably clean, but overall I can't recommend Chada.

The food taste is ok. But the amount of food is like a feeding baby and is not worth the dollar spent. Not going again. If you want to eat well dinner go elsewhere this place is good for brunch.

My favorite thai restaurant in Sacramento! We get takeout pretty often as our weekly splurge and we choose this location just about every time. We even choose it over sushi! It's just that good :) I get green curry and pad thai every time
