This is one of my favorite places to grab Laotian cuisine. It's a cute, cozy, resturant with red brick walls (not real) interior. The ambiance I get when I sit inside is as if I am outdoors in the evening time. All the pictures are beautoful photos of their homeland and the service has always been great. The papaya always hits and is so good everytime I come here. This last time I ordered a spicy pad krapao but it wasn't spicy at all sadly, however all the other times I've come here for khaopoon, laos sausage, Nam khao, etc it all tasted delicious. The female servers are so fun to talk too also, not really the guys imo 💁♀️ I love coming here and come when I am craving some delicious laos dishes.
Stopped by Sacramento and decided to try this place since I saw their fish laap on yelp and really wanted to try it out. Customer service was a plus, our server was super sweet. Was satisfied was all my food especially the lao style papaya and Lemongrass beef skewers, but I was so disappointed when I saw the fish laap. The portion was so little and you can barely see any meats, and no flavor at all. Bathroom needs cleaning also, it was super dirty.
I use to like This place but the customer service was bad. They overcooked my food and just said,”okay should have ordered it rare” . Completely unnecessary. I would have been okay with it if they said I’m so sorry or something . I just threw the food away and never went back
My experience was my first time being there over at Jannoi's App-Khao. It was kinda busy during lunch business hour. We have to wait for our food a bit longer due to only one server working there, other than that the food was quite delicious and very satisfied. I give it a two thumbs up for this review experience.
First time at Jannoi’s App-Khao, and it won’t be the last. Food was fresh and delicious. Family owned and operated. We went for lunch and there was a little wait time as the place was packed. But it was worth it, the prices are very good, big portions. If you’re in the mood for Thai food. I would highly recommend this place.

Credit cards not accepted but food was great
So glad to find a spot, close that has great authentic food! Thanks for the food, it rocked, can't wait to come back with the kids.
My friend and I had lunch here today and everything was spot on delicious! We ordered and shared the drunken noodles, khao poon gai, papaya salad and the lunch combo with beef skewer, Lao sausage. I thought we would have lots of leftovers but we had barely any because we ate almost all of it it was so good. The papaya salad was crunchy, spicy and citrusy yum! So looking forward to bringing another friend and trying more of the menu!
Been coming here for years, before Covid and the service and food remains amazing. Highly recommend for anyone!!
Best drunken noodles in sacramento and it isn't close
Visited this restaurant during a road trip since my friend who was born and raised in Sac recommended it. The detour was absolutely worth it! Unfortunately did not get a chance to sit down and eat due to a down AC unit during the hot summer day but the take out was still spectacular. The only dish that didn't impress was the Kaopoon. The dishes I recommend are: beef skewer, crying tiger steak, pad thai, and pad see ew. This will be a must stop every time I visit the area!
Wow. Fantastic! Hidden gem. The tofu drunken noodles were the best I have ever had. We also got yum beef salad that was so flavorful. I will definitely be returning with more of my family.

Best freaking noodles I have had with the most tender meat and the Lao sausage is fantastic as well. Everything here was top-notch drunken noodle with chicken or beef is fantastic.
The food is amazing, as are the wonderful people that run it. I look forward to coming back.
Great services. Very authentic and delicious foods.
Saturday, 8/19/2022 - Went to Jannoi’s App-Khao | Papaya & Noodle Shack for lunch with a beautiful friend. Address is 3510 Auburn Blvd UNIT 10, Sacramento, CA 95821. Located on Watt and right before the entrance to 80 (aka Capital City Freeway). Upon arrival.....
Pros
1) large parking lot with plenty of parking.
2) restaurant was packed with only 2 empty tables left. As soon as I arrived, server told me I could sit at either table.
3) within a few mins, server brought me a menu. Told me she was the only one working in the front today.
4) took about 30 to 40 minutes for our food orders to arrive. We didn't mind as that gave us a chance to talk and catch up. The fish larb took another 5 to 8 minutes to come out after the other 2 dishes came. But the foods were nice and warm. Not hot.
5) water had an after taste. Not sure how to describe it. Maybe mineral-ly. Hmmmm..... it wasn't bad. Just a slight after taste. I shoulda asked for lemon. But they do bring a little bottle of water with ice with a lid, in case you run out of water in your cup. That really helped.
6) as soon as someone left their table, I notice a young man would clean the table quickly. Tables were always cleaned.
7) the Jeow Bong Fried Rice was friggen good. I could eat the whole plate. Lol. The drunken noodle was good. The fish larb was on the sweeter side, but still good.
8) our server was very nice.
9)
Cons
1) none
Conclusion
This little restaurant was pretty cool. About 10ish table. It's located right before the entrance to 80. Server was nice. Tables were clean. Foods were good. Try this place if you haven't yet. We had a good experience here.

Thursday, 11/02/2023 - service great! Our waitress was so nice. Foods were all delicious. Except the chicken wings. Wings had no flavor and was on the raw side. The top of the meat was cooked, but had no flavor. The more you bite into the wings, the less cook it was. Was chewy and slimy-ish. Besides that, foods were great!! I also order a Thai tea to go. They forgot it. So before I left, I asked if I was still going to get it. The kitchen was already closed (close at 7:20pm-ish I think), and we already paid for our foods, so the waitress said it was on the house that was really nice.
I really like this restaurant. Go try this place if you haven't already.

Wednesday, 1/17/2014 - Took my son here to celebrate his bday. His 1st time here. We ordered:
1) kids pho, $8.95
2) Thai Tea, $4.75
3) Waterfall Steak medium rare, $15.95
4) Pad Thai w Chicken, $ 12.50
5) Jeow Bong Fried Rice w/ chicken, $12.50
6) Lao Sausage (comes in 3), $10.75
ALL were delicious!! No complaints. Our waiter was very nice. Originally when we 1st ordered, we wanted the Crying Tiger Steak. He said they ran out. They ran out of steak. I told him this is the 3rd time I've come to their restaurant and they are ALWAYS out. He goes and check in the back and said to us that there's one more Waterfall Steak left. So I ordered that. Thank you to him for checking! Thank you to the awesome cook who made it! Perfect Steak and sauce. My son loved all the foods. Great customer service.
Cons? Yes.
Only one. They don't do anything for a birthday. Not even ice cream. So... I took my son else where for bday dessert.
Besides this, great restaurant, delicious foods, clean restaurant, clean bathroom. Oh, there's only one bathroom for male and female. You'll have to wait your turn. ;)
Actually, it was good but last few weeks they double charge to my credit card and still not refund money back to me as committed!
I've been following up, they keep saying that it would be refunded in the next couple days but it's never been happened. I called them today but no answer, Too bad and not honest service!
My husband and I went to eat there for the first time and the food was so delicious! 😋 I think I just found my new favorite lao restaurant! I'm definitely coming back here again! 💕
Had the Khao Piek-Chicken soup w tapioca noodles. Sounds simple and it is but when it’s done right …. Sublime! Had this first in Ventienne Laos and have been trying to find an equal ever since. Very good , but missing the fixings- fried garlic, ginger etc. Still … so good ! Staff was friendly and welcoming. Will be back. A LOT
Great service and amazing food. These are the two things that come to mind when thinking about my recent dining experience at the new restaurant in town. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make sure my dining experience was top-notch.
The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you were a meat lover, a vegetarian, or had specific dietary restrictions, there was something for everyone. I opted for the chef's special, a mouthwatering seafood platter that was beautifully presented. Each bite was a burst of flavors, showcasing the chef's culinary expertise.
What impressed me the most was the attention to detail and the quality of ingredients used in each dish. It was evident that the chef took great pride in sourcing the freshest produce and finest cuts of meat. The flavors were well-balanced, and the presentation was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds.
Throughout the meal, the staff was attentive without being intrusive. They anticipated my needs, refilling my water glass and checking in to ensure everything was to my liking. Their knowledge of the menu was impressive, and they were able to recommend pairings and answer any questions I had.
I am from the Bay Area, but I have friends who live near this place.. Since my favorite dish is KhaoPoon, they told me to try this place & I drove all the way out here from Fremont just to try their KhaoPoon.. But I was not impressed.. The broth was extremely watered down & didnt taste right at all.. Back at my hotel room, after a couple bites I tossed everything in the trash.. This was a total waste of time..
Ordered the shrimp garlic noodles and it was okay but the quantity was very less for the price. I think it had like 4 or 5 pieces of shrimp in it and was terribly oily.
Love this place, had the best Larb in town. They mix the sour and bitter perfectly to the point where you can taste the herb, pepper, sour, bitter, and meat. The papaya was also on point. Can't wait to try their other dishes.
The red curry soup is very interesting and delicious. The portion is gigantic. We also like the larb salads very much too. Haven't tried the grilled meat yet, but they look interesting.
Who needs good service when the food is affordable and tasty lol
Not often you find food this good outside of South Sac. In this case, I’d argue it’s better than what you would find there anyways…
Great Athentic Lao food. Almost a hole in the wall type of restaurant. They don't have working A/C, only fans right now but seriously that doesn't bother me because the food is that good! Got my girlfriend whose Ukrainian hooked on this place! Give this place a shot! You won't be disappointed.
Love the skewers, both pork and steak !! Omg must try. They are usually sold out by 1230pm so get yours by 1130am to be safe. You will not be sorry. 10 stars really!!
Beautiful place,cheap and tasty!
The food is incredible! The lemongrass beef skewers were life changing, and the pho was very authentic! Everything was freshly prepared, the owners and employees are very friendly, and the restaurant is kept very clean. The portions were very generous as well! Definitely stop here!
Food is very delicious
Wasnt open when it said it would be.
Noodles and chicken are good but the Steak is 2 out of 3 times over cooked.
Terrible experience or maybe they have a off day, but service was very slow and keep getting our order wrong, waited over an hour for egg rolls and deep fried pork ribs, didnt get our pho, wish they would've got our food before the people that came after us so we just gave up and left, much more to say but it's a first and last time here
It was great! The only downside was that there was a hair in my brother's Thai Tea but we exchanged it for another one.
Just. Tack Thursday to come back to the Roseville
Area

Best Drunken Noodles ever !! 😋
Amazing! The Lao Sausage and Basil chicken stir fry 😋.
I can't even comment on the food or atmosphere because they refused to serve my family and I at 7:29 pm. I knew they closed at 8 pm. What I didn't know was, they only accept to- go orders after 7:30 pm. There is no sign anywhere that states this policy. As I saw it, they just didn't want to serve anymore.
Amazing food and amazing service hands down will be back again I had the green bean stir fry the flavors on the food were so good can't be beat
A lot of places will claim they are authentic, but this place actually delivers. I felt right at home, and their menu has many dishes you wouldn't find at other Thai/Laos restaurants.
It's a small place and the staff is small, so you need to be patient. But everything is worth the wait.
I eat out a lot but this particular Thai restaurant’s food i order had a bad smell to it, smelled old. I ate it anyways and later during the day i was twisting in pain. I will never go to this place again sanitary conditions are not the best. I paid with cash and waited and waited for my change and they never came back. Fine after 15 minutes i said i had to go and said ok have a good day. Finally i asked them for my 76 dollar change and said sorry they will get it to me because they didn’t have enough money on the drawer. They were ready to keep my money no problem
Place is delicious but service is super slow. Need more staff cos there is only one person running the floor doing everything.
Pretty nice place to eat at , food not bad either
First time at Jannoi’s App-Khao, and it won’t be the last. Food was fresh and delicious. Family owned and operated. We went for lunch and there was a little wait time as the place was packed. But it was worth it, the prices are very good, big portions. If you’re in the mood for Thai food. I would highly recommend this place.
We had a delicious late lunch/early dinner here today. We ordered 5 dishes to share between the 2 of us and we almost finished them all. Lol We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. Thank you!
Beef lemongrass meat on the stick was delicious 😋 sticky 🍚
Papaya salad was mid and delicious 😋
Nicely ran restaurant good customer service 👌 I like my lao chicken a lil more crispy but place was 8/10
Friggin delicious.
Great basil friend chicken and pad Thai. Awesome customer service too
Fast service and super nice family owned restaurant. The food quality is excellent! Best Thai food I have had.
Delicious food, great customer service, and awesome ambience. It wasn't packed so it was nice to really take in the restaurant and the pictures and artifacts inside the restaurant. I especially liked the fact that this restaurant is located in an area not far from where I live.
My husband and i stopped there for carry out. The lady there was very nice and offered us water while we waited for our take out food. The food was good and I enjoyed what I got.
Ordered drunken noodle with tofu, lao sausage, sticky rice, papaya salad and Khaopiek
Everything tasted great! Flavors were on point. It’s difficult finding an authentic Lao restaurant and this place did not disappoint. Will definitely come back
Just wow! I’ve traveled the world, this is by far one of the best Laos food out there. authentic! Food was amazing! The waitress was amazing! I literally connected with another customer over how awesome the food is! Definitely must try! Papaya was Bomb!!! Kapoon was fire! Laos sausage was phenomenal!!! I’m making sure I stop by again on my way out of town! Must try!!!
When I pulled into this small strip mall on the corner of Auburn and Watt, I was all set to chow down at Jimboys a few doors down when this place caught my eye so I decided, hey why not try out some Southeast Asian food? I opened the door to a neat low key interior with only a couple people eating lunch. Understanding that finding qualified help is a challenge these days, I had to speak up to get someone to take my order. I would have enjoyed dining in but for the fact that their air conditioner was not working today while the temperature outside was galloping past 100 degrees Fahrenheit. After about a 15 minute wait, my order arrived and I quickly raced back to the office to gorge myself on a heaping plate of Chicken Pad Thai.
"Heaping" really doesn't do the portion size justice. Truth is that I could barely finish it and it tasted delicious! I will definitely go back there when I am in the area. Total cost, including tax was around $12.50 and if I wasn't such a pig, the meal could have easily been split between 2 people.
First time there today, I will definitely be going back!
Reminds me of my Grandma’s home cooking.
My experience was my first time being there over at Jannoi's App-Khao. It was kinda busy during lunch business hour. Wow this place is amazing!! The flavors are on point. The service was great, and this restaurant was very clean. So glad that I found this place. Super authentic. I will most definitely return.
The food is great! Wife and I ordered Khaapoon, Pad Thai and lunch special. All the right flavors and spices. Every dish was spot on. We will be back and recommend everyone to try this place.
My husband and I absolutely love it here. We ended up taking a friend with us and now he is hooked as well! Our personal favorite is the Lao Sausage. It's the #1 thing we order. The papaya is awesome as well! Dark and tasty. My husband especially loves the Pad Thai! We've tried multiple places, and everytime he would be disappointed UNTIL we found this place and its now his favorite place for Pad Thai!
BOMB
Really good food. The spice level was just right. The red curry pho is going to bring me back to this place!
Excellent service and excellent food
Awesome customer service. Food was great! I had drunken noodles.
One of the best Lao food I've have taste! Customer service was great too!
Does not open at 11am, I showed up for opening and they were closed, I called and a gentleman said they don’t open until 11:30am.
Amazing food and fantastic service.
Authentic
The food tastes truly authentic. My go to is Laap, Chicken wings, papaya salad, and Kapoon. I've tried almost everything on their menu besides fried rice (mostly because that's already a staple in my house lol). And I never have photos to post because we end up demolishing it as soon as we get it lol
Food were satisfied n service was polite.. come check out the place out you will happy satisfied with their foods.
Great authentic Lao and Thai food. Great customer service and staff. Will becoming back for sure.
Good portions and they don't skimp on the meat! Make sure you have a beer ready to wash down the Drunken Noodles - they are spicy!
Really good authentic food.
Great people and food is fire!
Omg idk how I didn't try this place earlier. Everything was sooo good and flavorful. We got the papaya salad (Lao style), which had so much flavor. The spiciness was perfect. I will probably get it a level higher next time. But the best place to go for papaya salad. We also got the kapoon. I love that it's flavor stood out with no coconut milk used. 😋😋😋😋 am definitely going back here.
Real Authentic Lao food! I got the lunch combo with the Lao sausage, sticky rice, and medium papaya salad and it was delicious! The sausage had bean thread noodles in them which made them so moist. The employee (possibly the owner) was very friendly and greeted me in a timely manner. Will definitely return!
This place never disappoints.
Always eat here when im in sac love this place
Gets too busy and have to call too many times to get through. Not once tried it but they are busy so it means something.
Lao food done right. I should say the best. Classic Lao food and good Thai too.
Service is awesome. So respectful and comforting like it should be. You feel like fam when your here. Restaurant is clean and decoration is beautiful and has a home feel to it.
This is a must for foodies and for anyone into really good food.
Excellent service, great food what more could you ask for
If you order here make it on the phone its been almost a hour I ordered and still no food im so disappointed
