Serving Petaluma since 2008
After being a loyal customer for years, often ordering 1-2 times a week, our latest experience has made us decide to never return.
Knowing their website incorrectly transmits orders, we always note the correct protein in the notes section of our orders. This time, after placing our order, they called us to confirm if we wanted chicken or pork. We told them what the problem with the website was and that we did indeed want chicken. The order was delivered with the incorrect item, despite the phone call.
When I called the restaurant back, the owners proceeded to argue with me, despite admitting they messed up the order. Instead of providing us with the correct item, they told us we had to pay for another order if we wanted our food. Even after bringing a copy of our emailed order confirmation and returning the incorrect item, they still told us we had to pay for the correct item after admitting again they clearly gave us the wrong order. Not thinking of it at the time, I later realized I had just paid twice for a single item. My mistake, but something they clearly understood.
After picking up the correct item and bringing it home, we discovered it was clearly hastily prepared and tasted terrible, leaving us to question if it was intentional.
We ordered lunch to go online and it was convenient. Our order was ready in 20 minutes and it was ready for pickup as promised.
We ordered chicken satay, bbq pork and BBQ pork rice pot and everyone said it was อร่อย (delicious)! The chicken and pork were tender, grilled perfectly and had lots of flavor.
The price was reasonable and the portions were larger compared to other Thai restaurants. Will definitely be back if we're in the area.
How is this place still in business. Called for take out and instead of being greeted, such as, this is lemongrass Thai, how can I help you? Instead just a mumbled hello. I felt like the guy on the phone was upset I was calling and just kept saying is that all? The tofu green curry had cubes of tofu just cut and tossed in. Not fried or cooked in any way. Curry was bland. Asked for peppers in fish sauce on side and got sirachi and fish sauce, yuck. Rice was only 3/4 full. I thought last time was an off night but it was the same tonight so I just won't come back.
Very nice setting — truly surprised with how peaceful it felt despite being situated within a strip mall at a major intersection. Servers here have excellent service and attention to detail every time I’ve visited. Quality of food is consistently great with eye catching presentation.
The Thai red curry with chicken was delicious and flavorful and came with courgettes, carrots, green beans and bamboo shoots. The winner of the night was the Eggplant Basil. We ordered just the vegetarian version and the dish was fragrant and perfectly prepared with Thai purple eggplant, broccoli, carrots, onions, green beans, red peppers and basil that gave the dish bold fresh flavors. We ordered Lagunitas bottled beer for $5 and the total meal came to $48 for three people. Average dish is $12 with a choice of beef, pork, chicken with shrimp being $3 extra. The location does add an automatic 15% gratuity so be aware of this. Friendly service and authentic Thai food in Petaluma

Sawadìi....ali...
Not great for vegans (fishy) and got overcharged. Waiter was frantic and botched our order.
Placed an order here, they sent two large containers of tumeric and curry powder instead of a single item.
Everything is ok. Bt there staff is soo rude nd even don’t know how to attend the Coustmer

Really good Thai food, and they brought it out really fast! I especially enjoyed the peanut sauce with the satay and the green papaya salad
The worst part is customer service. We walk in, and a guy working there gives us attitude, and he was so disrespectful because when I asked for the bill, he literally ignored me, but thankfully a lady came to help me. We were so mad after that because we didn’t do anything to him. They also add a service charge on the bill, which is 15%. I was so confused, so I searched Google: “Starting July 1, 2024, under Senate Bill 478, California restaurants will be prohibited from charging service fees or other surcharges” (Littler). To be honest I like how they decorated their restaurant. If you ask me will I come back again, I would say never.
Horrible customer service. Extremely rude.
Affordable tasty dishes in unassuming storefront location. Menu has all the Thai classics with fast, friendly service. Try soups and curries.
The food is good, with good portions.
Worst food ever! won’t even call it Thai food, Reinforces my rule if a Thai restaurant doesn’t have fish sauce just walk away. I would’ve rather left the food on the counter after I paid for it than have tried it and been so disappointed. I feel bad giving it one star but it won’t let me give it zero.
Fantastic!
This is a favorite restaurant! Everything they make is delicious and you can order the amount of heat you like. We get green curry with added chicken, bbq pork pot is my hubby’s fav dish, pad Thai is good. Super courteous staff, treat them well!
It's all true about food and service. What hasn't been mentioned is the stunning beauty everywhere you look. From the breathtaking fountain to the art and creativity everywhere. It nourishes the soul!
Employee don’t know how to take order by phone bad service.
Love the food here! It is the only Thai restaurant that I go to now.
Good Thai for the area but also very mild
I ate dinner with three friends on New Years Eve at the restaurant (one of the few restaurants open that evening).
We picked a winner! The menu was full of yummy-sounding choices. Our selections were very tasty and generous servings. Obviously, it will take additional visits to sample more of the menu items. I'm looking forward to it.
Nice relaxed atmosphere with good prices and friendly staff. You must try the matcha iced tea It has a subtle hint of jasmine flavor which is quite complimentary, and doesn't have a fish aftertaste like low quality matcha. Duck Curry was delicious, and beef salad was very good Will visit soon
Authentic mango rice dessert👌
Lemongrass is our favorite new local Thai for a casual take-out. Fried rice, Tom Kha, yellow curry, coconut curry — all are delicious. The best we’ve had in a while. And it’s reasonably priced. We love it. Definitely recommend.
I swore I tried this place years ago and it was not so good but I just tried again today and oh my it was excellent! I had the Basil chicken and it's my new favorite in Sonoma county!
My fiance and I were out and I was starving, so we stopped for dinner. We're big Thai fans, but this was pretty disappointing. The Tom Yum soup was alright, not the worst but far from the best I've had. The green curry was incredibly sweet, so I had to ask if it had sugar in it, as I tend to have bad reactions to cane sugar. The waitress was kind and explained that not only did it have cane sugar in it, but so did most of the menu. We finally figured that the broccoli stir fry was safe for me to eat, and it came out fast so that's good since I was very hungry. But, it was bland. The meat in every dish we ordered other than the Salmon in the Salmon salad (Tom Yum soup with shrimp, Green Curry with beef, Broccoli Stir-Fry with pork) was severely over cooked. My fiance did enjoy the Salmon salad, so at least one of the four dishes we tried was good. We won't be coming back. It cost more than it did for us to go out for sushi just a couple nights before, partially because I couldn't eat the curry, so we had to order another dish. If you want good Thai food, go to My Thai II in Novato. It's way tastier and about the same price.
A bit too sour for Pad Thai imo
Service was like the server can't see you lol they're always in the back for some reason
Pretty expensive for such a normal dish and portion ($18 including 15% mandatory tip and tax), kinda shocked cuz that's more expensive than in the bay area peninsula...
horrendously rude service to the point of downright contempt toward the customers.
Super delicious and consistent!!!! Curry puffs are SO good. They make these for other restaurants! That's how good they are. Service is always perfect. Highly recommend!!!
5 star on doordash, however I will never dine in this establishment again. Why? Because last time I was there they added 15% to my bill of my husband and myself. I would never had known unless I examined the bill. They want us to pay a 15% covid surchage plus a 20 % tip on top of that!! No. I was so mad I circled the 15% and only left 5% on top of total bill. If a restaurant is going to charge more, I want to know ahead of time. I do not want it added to my bill with no indication. Furthermore every restaurant that I have been to that has a covid surcharge is adding a couple dollars not 15 %! Doordash their food.
Food was good but expensive, the cost for two meals and drinks was $64, it was decent, since I was only visiting the area and couldn't find any other restaurants, it was ok...
Fantastic vegan meal, friendly staff and was a perfect dinner date, highly recommended!
The bbq pork and the salad are perfect everytime.
By far the best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Everything's deliscious:Tom ka Gai w/seafood or chicken, pumpkin in yellow curry w/veggies, and always try chef's specials! Oh! Always, when in season order one Mango w/Sticky Rice for yourself to eat at the restaurant, and one addl' order to take home. I guarantee, you'll wake up dreaming about it, go to your fridge and be so grateful you listened to me, as you dine on one of the most delicious midnight snacks of your life! You're so welcome. ;)
Quick, courteous service, delicious food, calm atmosphere!
They are now closed. Hours online not correct. Hours on website are not correct
The food here is amazing with flavours on point. The service is also great. Loved it.
Best Thai food in Petaluma!!! Their pumpkin curry 🍛 is the best!!!!
This place is amazingly good! I’ve been coming here since they opened, and it never disappoints. Thank you.
The food was bland and contained very few ingredients of authentic Thai cuisine. Worst Thai food I’ve had. Disappointing.
Very nice setting — truly surprised with how peaceful it felt despite being situated within a strip mall at a major intersection. Servers here have excellent service and attention to detail every time I’ve visited. Quality of food is consistently great with eye catching presentation.
Long overdue. They’re nice and honest people. I left my wallet on the bench outside. They saw my wallet and kept it safe. There wasn’t anything missing. Their food is spectacular. I’ll definitely come back.
A fine restaurant. Beautifully appointed, uplifting artwork, clean, great staff. The Tom Kha was very fine but the Pad See Ew spicing was a bit off. I'll go back again and I hope that you will do so as well.
Excellent customer service from a sweet young lady, she made sure my order was perfect and even added their veggie puffs for me to try. Please support local family businesses <3

Very very very very bad, if you can’t make a vegan food just say you can’t make it, dont accept and spoil.
I called in to order pad kee mao, I was given plain boiled noodles with veggies and tofu, when I went back to restaurant to show the food was bland, they just gave hot sauce and said have it with hot sauce, unbelievable if I just need Boiled noodles I can just get noodles and boil it at home. Horrible food and horrible customer service, wish I can rate negative
Amazing food and also amazing service. One of the better Thai places I been too.
The food was amazing. I loved their pumpkin curry, tom yum, and sticky rice. The one star off is because they charge 15% tip automatically to your bill, but still ask for more tip by putting a tip line on the receipt.
Food is always delicious!
We had a very pleasant experience here with the service and the quality of the food. The reason for the poor review is because a tip was added by the owner for a party of two and a relatively small bill based on two entrees. Never had that experience before. We almost left a tip based on the bill total until we noticed that a tip was already included. I consider this a deceptive practice
Ok but too much MSG
They don't read notes when you place online order .so doesn't matter if you asked for less or more spicy or something else . Less noodles also they won't even fill your box properly. I received less content. Trying cut corners on all orders .
Amazing! Absolutely perfect everytime we go
One of the best pad se ew I’ve ever had. The masaman curry was good as well but if you don’t like it sweet ask for no pineapple
One of the best cashew chicken dished I have had! We also ordered the BBQ pork and was a favorite as well. Will come back!!!
Cardboard Imperial rolls filled with tasteless chicken, red curry that lacked any flavour except heat, and was like beef stew (American food, not Thai food). Completely undercooked and bitter eggplant, again with a completely tasteless sauce on the pad eggplant. Even the Thai ice tea was God-awful - just some weird powdery flavored drink. Not sure how this one has been rated best authentic Thai food in Petaluma because this is not at all the case. There are plenty of great Thai restaurants in Petaluma. Having worked in a Thai restaurant many years ago I can tell you this is nothing akin to home cooked Thai food.
I had the Crab Yellow Curry over rice 😋
Repeat customer and delicious as always BEST TASTING 🥜 PEANUT SAUCE EVER!!!
Never got my food. When I called to notify the restaurant, they couldn't hear me.
Excellent food and customer service. Highly recommend this location and this restaurant.
We really wanted to like this place but it was NOT GOOD. The egg rolls were SOAKED in oil, the noodles were greasy, the rice was hard and crunchy, we ordered everything Vegetarian, and it all tasted like fish or beef noodles. We are Buddhist. We will NEVER order from here again. Very Disappointing.
Super friendly. The red curry was delicious. We love that they have brown rice! We will definitely recommend to friends, and we’ll be back soon to try more!
I had to go here after he blasted Spring Thai. All I have to say is the owner has no room to talk. He left the worst review on Spring Thai and said go to Lemongrass. Hmmmmm! Lol, this guy. I had the drunkin noodles and the where below average.
4th time ordering delivery their food is very good. delivery did not arrive and was not contacted whatsoever. very disappointed in grubhub and Lemongrass thai for such mismanagement of orders.
The food was very bland. I ordered yellow curry chicken and it hardly had any flavor! How do you mess up yellow curry?? Don't waste your time here. I will definitely be looking elsewhere for some more authentic Thai food.
This was by far the worst take out experience in my 40 years on the planet. I have never had such a disaster. Flavors off and everything was sloppy. They butterfly the prawns for coconut shrimp leaving it as dry as dirt and no seasoning including coconut flavor. The fresh spring roll was literally a large leaf of romaine with a chunk of cucumber and a shrimp. The Tom Kha soup and the red curry was embarrassing and flavors were completely off. Both dishes lacked of vegetables. We think both came out of a can and were just warmed up. That could be the only explanation for such a disappointment. Gross and a waste of money!
Edit: Two of us just threw all of the soup up. Not sure if it's because we're vegan and the soup wasnt? It was terrible. I dont think the Thai iced tea used coconut milk.
------‐--
Just to start off with a good note the Thai Iced Tea was amazing!! Seriously some of the best I have ever had!!
Now to the bad things.. me and my family had ordered four soups from here and all of them had a little over half the container of broth, 5 carrots, 9 onion slices, 4 halfed small mushrooms, and the noodles that we ordered for extra (which didnt even fill a quarter of the cup). Honestly the amount of veggies that were in the soup were extremely disappointing.
We had told them that we were vegan and that we would like some extra veggies no matter the cost just to make sure that we had some decent volume to the soup. They seemed a little rude and told us that they would put veggies in it as it comes with veggies already. So that was a bust. Then we ordered the Thai iced tea which was amazing but the woman there charged us two extra dollars for coconut milk and didnt tell us there was an extra charge until the bill was due.
Wouldnt recommend it if you are vegetarian or vegan. They seem to be less than understanding about it and dont really care.
My favorite Thai place in Sonoma County. This place is delicious and very quick. My favorites are chicken pad Thai and their yellow curry.
Excellent Thai food. Some of the best I've had. Highly recommend eating here.
My favorites:
Chicken Satay
Yellow Curry
Pad See Ew
Edit: 2 years later, we still go here often. At least a few times a month.
My food was never delivered. I ordered during open hours. I even got a notice that my food was being prepared. No one answered the phone when i called. I waited 1 hour, 40 minutes and then Grubhub had to cancel.
Bbq pork rules!
Great place to grab lunch. Get drunken noodles.
This place is great! Consistently tasty and fresh! And they are always so nice! Never disappoint!
Consistently delicious Thai food with great lunch specials and kind staff.
A favorite location for delicious Thai food. i love this place, great food & service. this place has a nice atmosphere. feels similar to a restaurant in new york i loved.
Great place to eat. Wonderful flavors and wonderful staff.
I ordered via GrubHub:
Lemongrass serves curry without rice. I felt like a newcomer not to only Petaluma but to Earth when I called in to ask about my delivery's 'missing' rice only to learn it's an extra-side. #WhereTheyDoThatAt?
LOVE Lemongrass (both locations)! Constantly trying different dishes and never disappointed.
It was ok. The waiter had a rude demeanor before we even got our drinks ordered. Food wasn’t anything special. They seemed overwhelmed by having to wait on us and answer questions.
They have great food.
Very good flavor. Fast service. Reasonable price on food.
Enjoyed dinner at this local favorite. Lucked out and got the last open table when we arrived. There were 3 tables of large parties that were already there. It was about 20 minutes wait for parties after us to get seated. And when the parties left seating wasn't a problem.
The menu has been reprinted and looks great, easy to read.
Service was on the slower side, understandable due to the large parties, but food is worth the wait, and wait time was reasonable.
Ordered the calamari salad which was sweet and very mildly hot from the chili pepper flakes; nice meld of flavors. Pad Thai noodles, yellow curry and mamussom curry were all good.
They have been offering new green tea Thai tea, a new favorite, milder tea flavor than traditional Thai tea, which is black tea leaf based.
Yum, great food and fast
This is my favorite Thai Cuisine in Sonoma county!
Absolutely delicious Thai Food and very yummy fresh rolls!
So I ordered pineapple fried rice on Grubhub and stated that it was to be made vegan. When it arrived, it had egg in it. When I called to rectify the situation, I was informed by the gentleman on the phone that “some vegans are ok with egg and that I ordered incorrectly!” Do me a favor. It will only take a second or two of your time. Google the words “do Vegans eat eggs?” This is what you will find...
Among pure vegetarians, lacto-ovo vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products, but no meat, poultry or fish. Ovo vegetarians also eat eggs, but do not include dairy in their diet. ... Veganism is the most restrictive vegetarian diet and does not allow for any animal products, including eggs, dairy and honey.
Instead of wanting to fix the problem, the guy on the phone wanted to educate me on my own dietary restrictions. Then, after a bit more back and forth, he informed me that “just this one time” I could bring it in for an exchange. Firstly, I had it delivered, remember? I could have a broken leg. My car could be in impound. I could be on house arrest. Whatever. Secondly, to shame me that he would exchange it for me “just this one time” still implies that I was in the wrong here. I have eaten and had food delivered from here dozens of times and only had one other issue. Chicken meat was found in soup that was supposed to be meatless. I let that one slide as an accident and because the crispy spring rolls are the best that I have ever had, EVER!!! This single experience will make me reconsider any future orders since I am not the one whom needs to be educated on my own dietary restrictions.
Really good & reasonably priced for a little place tucked away in a shopping center. Staff always nice.
Excellent place to get great Thai food. The sticky rice is the best in town. Yum!!
Amazing broad with a superlative physique who could serve a man human excrement and have him begging for a doggie bag
Tasty food, mediocre service, tin foil in curry but friendly staff.
Nice little Thai place in Petaluma with a friendly staff. We had pad Thai, and Tom Kha Soup, the staff was happy to make both of these vegetarian. Food was tasty, and less spicy. Could have been a bit more spicy for my taste.
Best in Petaluma!
Great decor,friendly/quick staff, delicious food and the ability to cooperate with challenging children, they make a mean yellow curry definitely recommend it.
I do have love-hate relationship with Thai restaurants in America. Therefore, I'm writing this with mixed feelings. I want so much for this to be my go to place. Firstly, there are 2 locations. This review is meant for this location on N. Mcdowell Blvd. The two have the same menu, but, there are slight variation on their approach.
This is another typical average Thai restaurant--relies very much on the usual stuff you would find in others with very slight variations. Most utilize the basic vegetables, especially carrots and bell peppers. OMG, those are in almost all dishes with vegetables and in great quantities. All have the same kinds of dessert selections, nothing out of the norm--sticky rice and mangoes, and fried wrapped up banana drizzled with honey served with vanilla ice cream, not encouraging when I see these on the menu and nothing else. It seems each is just content to be a mere average and not standing out (except a few in big cities like SF and NYC). The only selling points are prices and Mmm...predictability. I wish the consistency of good tasting, good quality food were there. There's much room for progress, if the owners wish to bring more traffic to its establishment. Some wait staff are friendly, and some are not, and sometimes it is depending upon what time you arrive and leave. I suggest avoid considering going for late lunch(after 2pm) or late dinner. The service is quick but quality of service can decline somewhat, to the point of feeling rushed because the staff want to clean up and be done with the shift, maybe. Don't be surprised. This is common in many other Thai places as well.
I had some good tasting salads here in the past. However, at times they could taste a bit too sweet and the vegetables droopy not as crispy as it should be for a good traffic restaurant. The inconsistency, I mentioned, is alive and well. Could it be different cooks on different days? Curries and Tom-Kar soup, for instances, could be a tad too much sugar added (but if you like it sweet then, cheer!). The meat in all the dishes was tender, though. This I like. The seafood tends to be overcooked. Still, I wish they toned the sweetness down a bit in salad and curries. Salmon curry was not tasty. It's farmed salmon they use, in order to make it affordable. Go for Noodle soup if you want a sure thing, they're never too sweet, and the broth has some good flavor, like Pho (vietnamese noodle soup), however, in no way to compete with good ramen bowl.
To break down my mixed feelings:
5 stars for prices and 4 for selections. 2-3 stars for flavors depending on what you order and what days. 5 star for fast service. 2-3 stars for friendliness depending on who waits on you. I know 1-2 waitresses who are always friendly.
As you can see, it's mixed feelings. In any rate, I meant this to be a constructive review.. :)
This is the first time I went to a Thai restaurant...but the taste was so good that I have repeatedly visited this restaurant...
A truly fabulous menu, for vegetarian and carnivore palettes.
DELICIOUS!!!
I've come here for take-out a lot lately and am always pleased. The best dish for me is the excellent coconut chicken soup, Tom kha kai. It's really delicious as I get it everytime I'm here.
Update Nov 2018: everything is still great here! Just wanted to mention the excellent service I receive here, even as just a to go customer! They people here are awesome and the food is still delicious.
Great Food. My favorite lunch spot!
Excellent Thai food, super attentive staff!
Stopped here for lunch and found the food to be excellent. Lunch specials were priced well. Friendly service too!
Soup that i got to go was broth and mishrooms. $12 out the door and when i got home it was 1 small bowl of soup. Very discouraging.
"I mean service was good they filled up water the flavors were good not ada compliant I think I need floss or something" - person I went with
Good Thai food, reasonable prices. Nice ambiance.
Can recommend the pumpkin curry. Good Thai iced tea also.
sooo good. Don't be fooled by its location
Soso
A friend of mine recently came over for dinner and offered to pick something up from this Thai restaurant. It was fantastic! I believe it was a pad Thai noodle dish with tofu and the spring rolls with peanut sauce. Delicious! I'm a vegetarian and it was perfect. So tasty! I'll be in myself soon to get some more!
The best Thai food in Petaluma
Great Thai food! Perhaps the best in Petaluma
Lemongrass has the best thai in Petaluma!! I've had delicious yellow curry and Tom kha, their Pad Thai and BBQ rice bowl are good too. Plus, they deliver and it always arrives super hot and amazing.
My favorite Thai place
I loved the Thai food and drinks and the price is affordable.
Friendly service, great food and good value.
Good food
Delicious
Delicious food and prompt service. Got large takeout order.
One of my favorite Thai food restaurants
Real good food at VERY High prices, great staff.
Friendly staff, tasty food, cozy space.
Delicious and enexpensive
Great lunch special at a very good price. Service is always friendly and very fast. Nice spot to sit down or they offer take out / delivery.
Always tasty, always friendly. My go-to for thai.
Best Thai food in Petaluma in my opinion. They always accommodate my little changes to their dishes. Love this place. Small, intimate setting with friendly, fast service.
Slow service, everyone else at take was served. They finished and I still didn't have my food.
Best service I have ever had
Good food and service at good price
