I rated this a 4 solely due to this was my first time eating here. I usually eat the same old boaring meals. Today I tried something new. I’m glade I did. This meal we ate on was a twist of sourness if you get my drift. Just right I’d say! Two meals were served upon our stay. The service was definitely prompt and professional. The surrounding was nice and settle. We went around dinner time 4ish before 5. We were the only ones there at the time. There was numerous pick ups.

We ordered 6 entrees with tofu and the server asked us if we were vegan and then made sure to note no fish sauce or oyster sauce which we really appreciated. I got the crazy Thai noodles which were like drunken noodles and pad Thai combined. The noodles seemed fresh and house made which was also a great bonus?

Food is good. The manager is also very welcoming and friendly. Usually we have to order fish and fried rice. We can’t eat the meat because we eat halal foods (and their meat is the regular one). I would be happy to change my rating to 5 stars, if they are able to arrange Halal meats in future days. I hope the manager will take care of managing halal foods as well (similar like ‘Masala Express’, ‘Kabob express’, ‘Turmeric’ etc restaurants). Then we and our friends can come more frequently to eat halal thai foods as well.

This is a really great restaurant. We had the Massaman, Butternut Squash, and Yellow Curry dishes, as well as the Crazy Noodles and Pad See Ew. Everyone was very happy with their food. We all ordered fried tofu and they asked us if we are vegan and said they would leave out fish and oyster sauce for our dishes. Really happy we stopped here on our way through town!

My husband and I love the foods here. We have Papaya Salad (Somtum Thai), Satay chicken and the Pad Chicken with Thai basil leaves (Pad Krapraw Chicken) with rice; they are delicious. If you like good foods, great services and value for money, I recommend to come here at Thai Star restaurant. There is only Thai Star this restaurant in Merced, CA.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - very different ratings on the dishes. We got both at spiciness level 3 but it was odd that the spiciness comes from chili pepper flakes (more like pizza topping than Asian spices).
1/5 - Pad Thai with Pork was overly sweet and the protein extremely dry. The noodles were really stuck together even while it was still hot. Couldn't finish this dish based on texture and flavor
5/5 - Pineapple fried rice with beef has great flavors with sweetness from the pineapple and saltiness and earthiness from the seasoning.

Ambience: N/A - got food to go. Some nice paintings and Asian decor

Service: 5/5 - cashier was really nice and allowed us to sit indoors while waiting for the food

Value for price: 3/5 - dependent on dish. Would definitely recommend the fried rice which tastes great and can almost feed two people

This is by far the best Thai restaurant from Merced to Fresno. They have so many vegan options, and it's affordable, friendly, and quick.

Worst food, my daughter got sick, I felt ill too, waitress was inattentive, I’ve been to over 15 different Thai restaurants across central California and can say this was the worst place ever. If you want good food go to New Thai Cuisine

Ordered chow mein, but I got more bean sprout than actual noodles. “Steamed vegetables” were hard. Would not recommend. Order somewhere else.

I'm fond of the Pineapple Fried Rice with Salmon and Tom Yum soup. Food is tasty than the other thai restaurants in Merced. It would be great if they keep the Halal Meat option for their menues. Lot of people in Merced want to eat Halal meat.

The quality of the food is good. Halal meat can be added to their menus so that many people find it useful.

I had their "Drunken Noodles" and will say that it's quite tasty. Plenty of veggies in the dish which makes it a plus. I requested that the dish be spicy, should have asked for "Thai spicy". I didn't include a picture - wish I had taken one of the dishes. Our server was very nice and answered all our questions about the dishes my co-workers inquired about. Would definitely stop by next time we are in Merced for work.

We finally tried this place for the first time, today. We can't believe what we have been missing. We loved everything! On top of the delicious food and great service, their online takeout order website is the best I've ever experienced.

Doesn't look like much from the outside and isn't quite a high end restaurant, but the food is excellent, the place is clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, the portions are generous, and there are plenty of menu items. If you enjoy Thai food, this is a great option to try out! The Taro Ice Cream is well worth the visit. Some Thai restaurants tend to be skimpy with portions. That is not a problem here, so you'll want to probably not want to order extra, like I did.

Best Thai food since visiting Thailand last year. We had the fried rice, pad gra pow and pad see ew. Definitely the place to eat at if you want the taste of authentic Thai food.

This has quickly become our go-to place for Thai food in Merced. It is so good, they let us order online and it is ready fast. Love it.

Decent, but doesn't come close to the quality of Panang at Thai Cuisine on 16th. Thai Stars is thicker with a much stronger peanutier taste, but TC's just tastes much more authentic to me and the price is better at TC as well. TS did not ask what level spiciness I prefer, so it came with the default mild. For my go to in Merced, I will stick with TC. Better atmosphere & deco too.

Always a wonderful experience - great customer service and some of the best Thai food in town. I had the butternut squash, spinach, chicken and sliced almond salad - absolutely delicious!! Of course, washed it down with a Thai iced coffee.

The staff here are friendly and most of the food was great. One item was missing from the order, but this is the best roast duck I have had in Merced. The larb was fantastic as well. Also, this was one of the few places open on a Monday. I would definitely eat here again.

One of the many great Thai restaurants in Merced. Never wrong to go here, and they are very consistent in quality. Good value on lunch menu as well.

Some of my goto: Grapao fried rice, Panang Curry, Chicken Larb w/sticky rice.

New to Merced, found my new Thai spot

O M G !!! We just moved to the area after living in Santa Cruz for the last year and in the Bay Area for the last 16. We really thought we were going to miss the Thai restaurants in the bay and in Santa Cruz... until we ate here!! The seafood Tom Kha is off the hook- best I've ever had- and we had the sampler plate of appetizers which was also delicious! It was enough for both of us and we were stuffed and have leftovers! This is our new go-to Thai restaurant!

It was delicious! I had the orange chicken (3x spice) with teriyaki beef (4x spice) with steamed rice. The portions are great and I had leftovers for the next morning, which I happily ate again. Will definitely return!! Loved the hostess/cook as well, she works so hard.

The Tom Yum soup was delicious, very aromatic. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty. Outstanding services.

My wife and I have been so tired of being home for a year and a half and have been dying to try Thai Star restaurant. We went by and they were open and on top of that we were able to go in and sit down. We went through the menu and found 3 items that looked appealing to us so we ordered. In a little while they brought out our food. To our surprise all 3 of the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. We can't wait to go back and try some more of their delicious food. Give them a try, you might be surprised.

I have gone to this restaurant many times since it has opened as a dining in experience. The service and the food has always been very good. What I was very disappointed in was the rudeness during the service as a take out customer. We stopped by as we were tired after a long day and asked if we could get some take out. When I asked for a menu she would not give me one to take to my car so we could decide what to order. When I ordered the waitress was curt and unfriendly. I asked her after I paid her how long and she said 15 to 20 minutes. I waited and came in after 20 and my purchase was ready but she did not even let me know when I was right outside their door.
I can tell you that even though I enjoy their food I will no longer frequent them either as a take out or dine in customer. There are many other local businesses that would be more then happy to give me good service with good food.

This place is awesome ! So underrated, so I had to come on here and give them 5 stars bc babyyy! I got the Butternut squash Chicken curry, and it was so delicious and the suace was everything! Also got a side of fried calamari and I usually dont eat squid but it was too good! Also dont forget to try the desserts! The staff was so polite and checked on us all the time. The restuarant had chill vibes, so yes loved it.

This place seems to have a but more authentic Thai Food and we are in love with their dishes. You need to try their pot stickers and their beef soup we also really enjoy their lunch menu. The teriyaki and orange chicken are excellent. If you want to order a side of fried rice we highly recommend. Also the spring rolls are so tasty we tried tofu for the 1st time ever and we can't not belive how great the spring rolls were. Aside from those dishes we also really loved the Tom yum soup, the combination appetizer (the golden sacks are 🔥- as in so good lol not spicy). We also have had their teas and let's just say we love this place. In the past 2 weeks we have been there 3 times. 5 stars easy!

The prices are cheap, big helpings, super nice and attentive staff. We tried the shrimp rolls and garden rolls and their coconut ice cream. They were yummy! Cute little place to dine.

It wasn't my favorite I've only been there once but the food was not to my liking.

Tried the beef pho today, and it was perfect! The ladies were nice when I walked in, and I was greeted right away. Calling your order in ahead of time is a great idea also 😉 I'm not one to wait forever for food lol. Will definitely be going back!
