Westwood Thai Cafe is one of the more authentic Thai Restaurants in the Westwood area of West LA in California. Located near the ULCA campus, Westwood Thai Cafe offers a casual dining experience and a quick service delivery for people looking for reasonably priced dining experience.
The much special was large, for $12.95 you get to pick a main course, an appetizer and it comes with a side salad. The salad was fresh and the dressing was yummy. I chose the chicken satay which was tender with the peanut sauce which was delicious. In the middle of the day it was busy with pick up orders so the locals must love this spot for lunch.
Cada que vamos a Westwood pasamos a comer, muy sabrosa la comida y el servicio tambien, un lugar pequeño
I used to order delivery here a lot. And my favorite was the sweet and sour fish. I never dined in so I can’t tell about the service or atmosphere
They allow dogs to sit on the same seats where people sit, and sniff and lick the table. Disgusting.
They deliberately make the portion for to go smaller by a lot. We called and they said that they made it on purpose. They said it's ok even if we paid the same price. It's totally shame
Very good food and fast service. Thank you!
Love the vibes here! The service was good and the food was delicious.
It is one of my goto lunch place. Lunch price is affordable and food is OK. I like pad see ew, so I order it often. The pad see ew noodle is like 85/100. The flavor is very good. However, the broccoli and beef are lack of flavor. The brocoli is undercooked and beef is overcooked. It is just strange to me. Just order the lunch combo with pad see ew in it. Skip the broccoli and beef.
I'm so disappointed in my dinner I had last night, Saturday 3/9/34. I had cucumber salad which has almost no dressing, tasted like water. Then I had Noodles with tofu & it tasted like rubber. A solid brick of rubber. Then I had Thai Steak, which was so overcooked I couldn't cut it through with a sharp knife. Then there was the mango & sticky rice. The mango was so overripe it was off & the sticky rice was so dry I nearly chocked! Seriously the worst meal ever & it was through Uber Eats. I complained to the restaurant & they said call Uber. I complained to Urber 3 times & simply received a $20 refund from my $60 dinner.
I will never order from or through either again.
One of the best Thai places I have found in many many years. BEST
Great food ... OK atmosphere
Amazing Pumpkin Curry
Worst Thai food I’ve ever known of. Zero flavor.
Affordable price, comfortable environment and friendly service
They have really tasty food... but... when you order out they always, always get the order wrong... not once have they got it right and it's very very frustrating
Just not good... The noodles were nearly macerated. Taste was bland/mediocre. Meat/chicken in each dish wasn't very good. The mango sticky rice didn't have the condensed milk topping.
i ordered for delivery, the driver was here waaaayyyy ahead of time, almost too soon, the food was great. i ordered pad thai with pork and it tasted great! i’m happy so far, will be coming back
I ordered two things: pad thai and tom yum noodle soup medium spice. Although service was good, this was hands down the worst thai place I’ve ever tried. The flavor profile was flat, the tom yum noodle soup had no authentic tom yum flavor, not to mention the soup wasn’t even the slightest bit spicy like I asked for. I’d compare the spicyness to a couple sprinkles of red chili flakes on top of pizza. Similarly, the pad thai was just awful. There was a lack of depth to the flavors. Both dishes felt as if they just poured soy sauce and some food dye into it and called it a day. Not surprising that the restaurant was completely empty when I walked in at 5pm. All in all, would not recommend and do NOT come here if you want anything authentic/good. Every other thai place nearby tastes better.
Food is worth it if you are looking for some cheap and tasty eats which is pretty hard to find in Westwood nowadays.
Tried the Thai Dumplings which came with rice, yellow curry, and spicy seafood soup were really very tasty.
Service and attention were top-notch.
Will be back to try the Spicy Beef salad and mangos sticky rice.
I went for the lunch. It was not good at all. The guy ( Waiter) was so angry too.
I had a green cary today and it was so bad. After I paid the bill i told the man quality was not good and he said I dont care its not my job to care. Not only the food was awful the waiter ( boy) was so rude.
Wonderful restaurant with good prices for delicious food!
Great friendly service. The food is great and plenty of variety to choose from.
I had the Thai Style Noodle Soup and it is so delicious! The portions are huge and the price is very good. The interior is not the best but the food makes up for it. I’ll be coming back here for sure!
The most amazing Pad Thai and egg rolls I’ve had in a very long time!
Very bad service, very long preparation
Great food, fast service, polite servers
Not the biggest portion sizes but excellent flavor. We ordered the steamed dumplings, sweet and sour chicken, and spicy noodles. Would eat again.
Went for lunch on a Saturday and really enjoyed the Tom Gum soup.
Muy bueno el pad thai, buen precio y muy rápido. Con una sapporo tremenda conmbinacion.
Order padthai and mongolian beef, padthai was soggy, oily with not much chicken, and the chicken felt old. Mongolian beef also had a poor taste with a limited amount of meat. This was a delivery order.
The food taste good when it is good. I order from here a lot but stopped recently because my last 3 orders were not too great. 1st time I asked for spicy was not spicy and I asked for extra veggies…it came out extremely watery no taste and 4 pieces of chicken 🤯
2nd time I asked for spicy (because it is suppose to be spicy) I got a dish full of bamboo shoots didn’t have taste
1st, 2nd, 3rd time not spicy and they have been using pieces of the chicken for the Satay in the red curry 🤯 not good because that chicken is thick and dry… I don’t know why they do that but it is not good at all!
On a good day when everything is fine the food is good.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND been ordering for about 2 years 👌 🙌 I have a client every Monday or Saturday I usually get the same food, Thai Dumplings pad See you, Tom yum shrimp or chicken, I just love it! Can't get tired 😌 BTW I never been in person to this place 😊
A Small Thai Restaurant thats served good Thai Food. The taste just nice and serving size is just right.
My food was bland and overcooked. :( I will say that it was ready quickly!
Every dish is amazing!!🙏🏻
First time had the Pad Thai. Tasteful! Then tried different plates, all good, can't go wrong.
I've dined in and ordered take out 5+ times over the past couple of months and it's consistently delicious. It's our go-to neighborhood Thai restaurant. Service is always fast and friendly. Sizeable portions and well priced for the area. Highly recommend!
Egg rolls: pretty good
Pad thai: good but the chicken was dry and I don't think there was any egg
Orange chicken: top 5 worst orange chickens I've ever had. Very dry, terrible texture, bad taste, and hardly any sauce. Reaaaallly bad.
Service: 5/5 our server was sweet
Amazing food and people!
Everything was superb here!! The Mongolian beef was delicious! Service was ideal. Just a pleasant experience here.
Nice place for lunch.
Saw the top 10 places for food in UCLA and found it. Ordered Pad Thai and B-B-Q pork to-go. Not very tasty, maybe it tries to appeal to a more general appetite.
Love this little place!! They have great chicken pad thai, chicken fried rice, and wontons!! So many other amazing options!
Rad Na was not good. Too sweet, slimy noodles and too much cornstarch. Noodles soggy, broccoli hard.
Green Curry good but for the price it was a small to go portion. If you’re going to give me that little curry at least throw the rice in for free.
Tofu with both was fine.
$32- 40 with tip and not sure if I’ll go back.
Hours of operation are not true
Always a good experience :)
This place is a cute little hole-in-the-wall small spot. Very quaint. I went at lunch time and a few locals were there, but not too crowded. The waitress was very nice. I could hear the waitress speaking Thai language to the kitchen staff, so I think the food was "authentic". I got the shrimp curry rice and it was pretty good. I'd certainly go back for lunch, but maybe go somewhere fancier for a date night.
Food was great, service was friendly
Okay quality food, bland in taste, skimpy on ingredients (see spring roll below) + bad customer service.
We ordered on doordash, and they accidentally put meat in our dish instead of tofu. I get, mistakes happen. I called the restaurant, and they asked multiple times if I made the order correctly instead of just apologizing. They did eventually offer a refund for the dish but didn't offer to remake it.
Other Thai restaurants in the area are a better option.
This is my first review on google map.. don’t ever gonna order from here again..
Good environment
First time having Thai food and was happy with this small, intimate restaurant. Impressed by the starter dumplings and filled up on yellow curry chicken. Inexpensive bottle beer a plus.
Quality of food and service have gone down last 2 years. Taste is adequate but there are a lot of charred carbon in their noodle dishes and their honey duck is dry for what it's worth. Makes me wonder how well they upkeep their kitchen. Every single time I go pick up my food, there are others in the waiting area. Their employees would see us but no greeting and they would go back to the kitchen while people wait 10-15 minutes at a time.
Definitely reconsidering finding a different place for Thai food.
There was an actual rock in my food.... It was also really really expensive, over 60 dollars for 2 meals, and there was a ROCK in it. I had the glass noodles, and I know there was a rock because I was unfortunate enough to bite down on it by mistake lol. Ok food, but not really great, and I had just had surgery. If I had started choking on that and someone tried to help me too forcefully? I would have had to go to a hospital or back to the eye surgery building at UCLA. If I could put a picture here I would of that rock, it was NOT a small one...
My girlfriend and I went here with honestly only moderate expectations. I didn't expect to be giving this place such high marks but that's how much I enjoyed the food. We got a pad thai with a coconut duck curry and we thoroughly enjoyed both. My girlfriend has already gone back for more and I will too the next time I have a chance. It has all the normal Thai cuisine you've probably seen before, and based off my experience it should be a good experience for you too. Definitely recommend this place for great Thai food.
The food arrived still hot, which surprised me. The flavor was good, but those were the toughest scallops I’ve ever had. I kept chewing till I couldn’t chew anymore and had to eventually spit the rest out. Quality of scallops was VERY poor, but everything else was great.
Food is always good.
Great food at an fantastic price! I got the green curry and my wife got some noodles. They were both delicious. At this price, this will be our regular spot.
Delicious! We enjoyed our meal so much. We will be back. Thank you!
If you're thinking of having Thai food, don't make the mistake we did by eating at this place. We ordered 9 different dishes and they were all the same taste! No Thai flavors or spices at all, everything was drenched in the brown generic sauce served in bad Chinese restaurants. The owner must think his customers aren't sophisticated enough to know the difference, and judging by some of the honest(???) reviews they obviously don't.
If youre in the westwood area this is by far my favorite thai food spot. Crazy good food and amazing prices. You cant beat it.
One of the best Thai Restaurant in town! Friendly customer service, and delicious food. I highly recommend the Pad Thai noodles with Chicken, and the Wings of Angel! You'll thank me later. ;)
Literally the fastest cooking and delivery ever. Every time I order, I’m shocked by how quickly I get a notification that it has arrived.
Would have been 5 stars but the Orange Chicken was so awful lord have mercy. I will upload a pic of what they gave me.
My sister and I ordered over the phone for free delivery + 10% off order, and I am SO happy we did!
It's our first time ordering from here and the food was delicious! My sister got Chicken Pad Thai, and I got Tofu Pad Thai and Thai iced tea. After ordering, it was delivered in 20 minutes, still hot/warm!! Never have I ever had such fast, fresh food delivered to my door!! The food was 5/5, we loved it--and we are avid Pad Thai fans. Definitely recommend if you're craving pad Thai or any Thai food! Thank you for the positive experience!
The waitress is the worst.
Food was great except that the noodle smells bad.
Not a very friendly owner / service. Really tiny place - a bit run down but clean.
Food is so so.
Exquisito
I went to this place pretty often, maybe twice a month at least. The food was always fast, tasty and a great price. I love all their types of curry the most. But their fried rice is a close second. The pad thai was good as well. And their thai tea and coffee were a constant, every time I went I got one or the other. I'd tell everyone to come here as you can't go wrong.
Excellent food, great prices and wonderful service. Thank you!
Fantastic food. Quick service. Not crowded. Ordered the coconut soup, pad thai, & yellow curry with chicken, after tasting probably would've gone meatless. Friendly folks. Economical prices. Nearby street parking avail. I would definitely return!!
One caveat the waitress told us the online prices are outdated; the current menu prices are $2-$3 more per item than the less expensive prices listed online. It'd be nice if they updated that so the prices would match.
So bombbbbbb
Good authentic Thai food with great lunch specials
Lindísima terraza cerrada a 17 pisos para admirar algo de LA y disfrutar buena mesa.
Thai restaurant that has everything from Tom Yum to Pad See Ew including the other red and green curies. I recommend the Pad Thai and a side of egg rolls. Servers are polite and friendly and the price is around $10. Well worth it if you're in the mood for thai food.
Spicy noodles with beef is my go to dish here.
very descent little restaurant conveniently located on Westwood Blvd, free street parking after 7:00 pm. wide variety of menu, it seems quite busy serving online orders as well. pricing are reasonable for the area, I ordered the asparagus dinner with chicken, it was quite tasty and comes with generous portion. highly recommended!
Great food, good ambience, attentive service
One of the best Thai places I've been to. Has a small, hole in the wall vibe, and doesn't look particularly elegant or cute, but is kinda charming nonetheless. The portions are huge and prices are fairly good for a Thai place, making this the go-to Thai place in the area.
Pretty good food
Good place if you want fast service for good food relative to its price. Not fine dining... but a good lunch spot or a last minute quick fix for Thai food on the a tight schedule. I will repeat attendance in those occasions.
Amazing service!! Friendly, professional, and efficient!! I love eating here!!
This is amazing Thai food, really fresh and delicious. I love the authentic flavor and just how fresh and real everything is. They use high quality ingredients across the menu at unbeatable prices. I would highly recommend them!
We ordered the Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea. I placed the pick-up order over the phone, and mentioned the check-in offer for the Thai iced tea. They wouldn't honor the offer, but didn't seem to completely understand. Regardless, I proceeded to order 2 of them. When I arrived for pick-up, I showed the check-in offer to the cashier. She still wouldn't honor it, so I proceeded to pay. After receiving my receipt, I realized I was charged more for my Pad Thai than what was stated on the menu. The cashier didn't seem to care, and started to walk off. I stopped to check my order to make sure it was all correct, when another woman came by and said they would honor the check-in by giving me another (a third) Thai iced tea. I told her that I didn't need a third, and declined the offer. She then said that I needed to let them know about the offer when I placed the order, to which I replied I had. She looked at the cashier, whom must have said something about the situation, and murmured something to her before turning to me and saying "Well, we can't do anything about it since you already paid." Obviously, it wasn't a big deal to me since I had still ordered and paid for my entire original order. I think it was a bigger deal that I was overcharged for my food, and they didn't care. After I was able to check my order for completion, I thanked them and left.
Once home, we were looking forward to enjoying our Pad Thai, but were quickly let down as our food had absolutely no flavor! I've never experienced Pad Thai lack flavor, which is pretty bad in my opinion. It's almost like they forgot to add ingredients. Needless to say, we will not be returning 😕
My favorite Thai spot in the area. Lived near Westwood almost 10 years, and always come back. Check out the delivery specials too!
Food is okay but not exceptional. Prices are average for Thai food. There is no restroom in the restaurant and only metered street parking.
I've never had Thai food this good at other places, this was really good food, and I totally enjoyed it. You can adjust your spicy level, and you can customize the ingredient. Nice place.
Tasty food , friendly service and great ambiance!!!
Great food! Best delivery packaging I’ve seen. Very fast delivery. Very affordable prices. 10/10 looking forward to ordering again
Really nice, clean, tasty and affordable Thai food. Strongly recommend. This is for anyone who likes Thai food at its best!!
The food is really good.
The whole restaurant smells
I’ve eaten at many Thai places on the Westside and this among the worst. Food is bland and quality of the ingredients is poor. It took them two hours to deliver our food, no wonder the delivery is free.
Best Thai food and just a few doors down from where I work. Always recommending Co workers to eat there.
if you are looking for great Thai food check out Westwood Café the food is great
A very good meal and service.
Love this place! I get the pad Thai with Thai dumplings every time. Delicious!
The food is VERY good. I've been a customer for many years. However, the customer service/relations is non-existent. If there is any dispute or complaint, the limited-English speaking employees play dumb and act as if they don't understand. I have been trying to contact the owner for weeks. She has NEVER called be back.
The food tastes great, however, we got our order to go and sat at a table to add some sauces from the table to our food. As we were adding the sauces, not one, but two separate employees came over to tell us we were not allowed to eat at the table. We could only guess that it was because our orders were packaged to go as opposed to being on plates, because they never bothered to explain why they were ushering us out so unceremoniously after we spent nearly $50. The problem wasn't that the rule exists, it was the way they approached us. In fairness the second person was apologetic, but did it really take two people? There is something to be said for customer interaction.
Food is beyond bad. Ordered thai Red curry as delivery order. One bite and threw it right in the trash. Never had such bad Thai food in LA. Chicken was all dark meat. The curry itself was smelly and just awful. Absolute waste of money.
Good food
It's OK. There are better options nearby.
love the food here
Great food, friendly, and willing to accomodate.
great Asian traditional food.
Stopped in for Lunch....Food Daaalicious!! Service quick with a Smile. And It's easy on the pocket!!! Check it out!??
Great food and friendly service. Worth the drive!
