Tuk Tuk Thai is a charming and authentic Thai restaurant in Los Angeles, CA. For uniquely flavorful Thai food, hop on the Tuk Tuk! Online ordering available.
Tuk Tuk is a hidden gem! The Peanut Pad Thai is absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The noodles were cooked just right, and the peanut sauce was rich and flavorful. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai experience! We will definitely be going back again!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tuktuk and was thoroughly impressed. Their menu offers a wide variety of classic Thai dishes, all prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
I opted for the crab fried rice and clear noodles, and both were absolutely delicious. The fried rice was perfectly seasoned, with a delightful mix of flavors and textures. The clear noodles were light and refreshing, a perfect complement to the richness of the fried rice.
If you're a fan of Thai cuisine, I highly recommend giving TukTuk a try. You won't be disappointed!
Excellent experience at Tuk Tuk Thai! I had eggplant, sweet basil, and mixed rice (brown and red). Though it was only a takeout, the service was good, and the waitress was attentive. It's located on Sawtelle near Santa Monica Blvd and the 405. I was there late, and parking wasn't an issue, but I can see it being somewhat challenging at other times. The dinner portion was relatively small, which I prefer, but other people might mind. Pricing was moderate. No utensils included.
Stopped by for lunch while I waited for my dog around the color! Ordered a soup, seafood fried rice, street food pad thai, a roti and a coconut flan .. it was all super yummy! Not too much oil, sharable and enough left overs to eat later!
Service was friendly, approachable and super attentive. I’m not sure why it was slow but I’d be here once a week if I lived near by!
I highly recommend it!
I absolutely love this place. I found this place through postmates, I loved it so much I told my friends about it, and we decided to have actual lunch there, and they loved it it too. Everything is delicious. My friend is a picky eater and loved it. So yes, 10/10 recommend.
The level of customer service I experienced was absolutely unacceptable. It fell far below the standard one would expect from such a well-regarded establishment. Not only was the receptionist unhelpful and unprofessional, but her actions also demonstrated a lack of basic customer care and attention to detail. It was clear that she was either unaware or indifferent to the importance of handling deliveries securely and professionally. Such a poor experience reflects badly on the hotel’s reputation and leaves much to be desired in terms of customer relations

We get takeout here very often - it’s one of our absolute favorite places. The curries, rice noodle dishes, and spring rolls are constantly on repeat.
Great food, great service, great ambience. The food slaps. Not overhyped like most of LAs restaurants.
Good authentic Thai food. Service was reasonable and as expected in any restaurant.
Adding a 20% tip arbitrarily is not acceptable.
We were stay around the corner at a hotel and ordered take-out.
The chicken wonton soup was amazing, noodles and pork also very good. Order was ready on time and hot/fresh.
THEY HAVE BAD SERVICE EVER!! Someone forget my order and waste a lot of time.
Nice vibe and people. Green curry with tofu was delicious!
Ordered Mixed veggies stir fry and rice. The veggies tasted stale. The taste was very bland. No spice level. Would not suggest to anybody.
The food was terrific. My girlfriend and I enjoyed everything about the food. We got the chicken skewers, market seafood soup, and Thai fried rice.
The only thing that bothered me was the service. It was Sunday night, and the gentleman sat us down. His only interaction was not until we finished our food to check if we wanted more water. I would understand if the excuse was because of a busy night. He had help on the floor but took care of every other table in the restaurant and outside the table. I am unsure if it was a situation where we didn't match the demographic of people who came in.
it is sooo hard to find thai restaurants in LA (outside of the Thai street food markets) that serve moo ping, and I’ve also noticed that curry puffs aren’t a popular dish at California Thai restaurants either (whereas it’s a staple in most Thai restaurants in New York). tuk tuk has both, which was such a treat for me! I did try to call to place an order to pick up, but no one picked up. I was close though, so I just went to the restaurant to place a to go order, and in-person, everyone was lovely and attentive. it wasn’t very busy when I went, so very easy to place my order, and it was ready in ~20 minutes. the food was delicious - the skewers and the puffs were perfectly cooked!
the only downside it that it is expensive for what the food is, especially since moo ping ($12) is typically a cheap street market snack and it only comes with 4 skewers, and the curry puffs ($13) are vegetarian and only come with 2. the price point vs. amount of food received probably means i won’t come here often, but would definitely still come if i have an intense craving for moo ping and/or curry puffs.
Wonderful neighborhood Thai restaurant with excellent food great vibe and friendly service. So happy we found this place! Would definitely return
Ordered a tom yum soup and rice noodles on the side. The soup was not authentic and the price is a bit high ($35)
Me and my family recently visited Tuk Tuk, and while the food was fine, the service was far from satisfactory. We arrived as walk-ins and promptly signed up for a table. Initially, we were informed there would be a 30-minute wait with two parties ahead of us. However, we quickly noticed that groups arriving after us were seated before us, supposedly because we were a party of four while others were only two.
After waiting well over 30 minutes, I asked a staff member about our table. She informed us that reservations took precedence over walk-ins. When I suggested we sit at the bar, she assured us she would offer us those seats once they were cleaned. To my frustration, another couple was seated at the bar shortly afterward, despite our earlier request. When I brought this up, the staff had no clear response, and the conversation only became more frustrating as they offered us a different table in the corner without any genuine effort to accommodate or apologize.
The worst part was when the manager claimed I had refused the bar seating, which was entirely untrue. Not once did anyone apologize or offer any form of compensation. To top it off, when we received the check, we were charged for an item we hadn’t even ordered.
In summary, Tuk Tuk’s food may be fine (nothing more), but the poor handling of their service, lack of accountability, and frustrating miscommunications made it a disappointing dining experience.

To go order. Always they forget to include utensils even if i request upon order. Frustrating.
I ordered takeout for lunch today from tuk tuk. Best authentic Thai green curry I’ve ever had with round Thai eggplant cooked Al dente to perfection & bamboo shoot & Thai basil. Yum!! Paired with the mixed rice is like a warm hug of coconut and aromatic deliciousness with just the right amount of chili. Sweet basil eggplant is awesome this dish can be hit or miss but this is a definite hit. Drunken noodles also very good. My most favorite of all is their green curry.

The noodles were cooked just right, and the peanut sauce was rich and flavorful. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere cozy. Highly recommend for an authentic Thai experience! Very very good Thai food! (Also a lot of gluten free options)

Love the flavor and their richness touch of thai seasoning. If you have a chance to visit here, try out there tom yum beer.
Thai food on Sawtelle! I've been here many times and overall I think it's solid for Thai food on the west side. I most recently had Pad See Ew with crispy pork, and my wife had khao soi chicken. Not always the cheapest, and the tables are kinda small, but a consistent, modern take on Thai food.
My date and I feel like Thai food tonight and OMG… this place is gem!! Tried the curry noodle soup, shrimp balls, and pad thai… we almost lick the plates. Sooooo goooooood!!!
My husband and I ordered tom yum shrimp and grapow moo grob with rice. It's was soo good. Love the atmosphere and enjoy the food.
What kind of restaurant forgot to put rice into my bags and ask me to go back for that? I already tipped. You can come back or next time we can give you two sizes of rice. That’s the most stupidest answer I’ve got. BTW the service there sucks. Last time they forgot to bring me forks and this time was even worse.
Staff seriously needs to
Improve customer service skills and behavioral skills towards the public. Repeated times coming here experiencing frustration from the negative attitude from the staff. Seriously. What’s the deal? They act like they don’t want to be there and hate you. You guys really need to get it together and knock it off with that. Treat all people with kindness and gratitude. You hate working that kind of job, that’s your problem. Not other people’s.
Chili thai basil is so good!! Highly recommend!
I am shook this place has only 4 stars. I tried the curry, soup, and pad Thai! All of them slapped! Definitely go here if you want something cheap and tasty!
Rude ... we couldn't get a sit inside 3 empty tables and they wanted me to sit outside
Very good Thai food! Absolutely authentic and spicy enough.
Thai curry meets a fried chicken sandwich a it’s a match!
Missing items. Rude service. Poorly prepared food.
***Buyers Beware***
I ordered food from Tuk Tuk Thai through Uber eats on Sunday after 10pm. However, as Google showed the restaurant as closed, I decided to call the restaurant, - nobody answered the call. I then get an update that the food was picked up - when I check the map, the driver was in a completely different location. So, when the driver arrives, I ask him where he picked it up from and he confirmed it was from what's on google as Thai Thai Thai. The place is not even a restaurant, just a kitchen. I take offence to this as nobody knows what quality and hygiene standards are maintained here. To top it up, they charge you the restaurant prices. The soup was luke warm, pad Thai was cold. My request to make pad Thai spicy was completely ignored. I would be surprised if this was anything but prepacked and microwaved to order. See screenshots for more information. Never falling for Uber offers again. I have an open complaint with Uber but not holding my breath on this one.
best pad thai i’ve ever had
This is one of my favorite places in town. Every dish is incredibly flavorful. I dream about the mushroom larb.
A slightly different spin on Thai food. Good selection and service.
I used to LOVE this place because the food is GREAT. But the service is so-so at best and the portions are half of what they used to be.
Food is pretty good, atmosphere is just fine
I just ordered chili holy basil chicken on Doordash and it’s AMAZING with a huge portion size for the price. I am surprised, there is so much chicken. This is one of my favorite meals.
Great food. Everything I’ve tried has been excellent.
If you order here, be ready waiting hours
Tuk Tuk Thai offers pretty good Thai food with a big menu and a casual atmosphere. The food ranges from great to just Ok.
Starting off with the best, we had Pad Zee Ew, which had an excellent smoky flavor. Crab Fried rice was soft and flavorful with a good amount of crab. The Taro Puff was an excellent dessert with a subtle almond flavor puff pastry stuffed with rich taro paste.
Otherwise, the chicken Satay was disappointing compared to others I’ve had around LA. The pork Grapow was interesting but didn’t pack a whole lot of flavor.
The service was alright, but I got the feeling that they were understaffed, as the servers were always running around and seemed rushed. I hope they can get enough people to make sure each waitstaff is not too busy.
I like it hot and hot is what you get here very friendly service
We used to be frequent customers and highly recommended this restaurant to friends in LA until recently. Lately something happened and they have been messing up the orders, in addition to the rude service. We were disappointed last time when dined in, and decided to give it another chance (delivery). They completely ignored my requests and the food was subpar. We are probably not coming back. I tried calling their number but reached a “this mailbox is full” message… SMH..
Amazing authentic food. Not the fastest service but definitely the best quality you can get in west LA these days (hands down).
Absolutely cheap vendor, do not order online. Potion 50 percent smaller and overcharges on Uber eats.
Excellent food and incredible service! I loved our meal here. Our waiter was so kind and had many helpful recommendations. Will definitely come back!
Thai esaan wife approves. That says a LOT.
Went here for the pop up fried chicken. It was reminiscent of the Momofuku fried chicken, with a spice-encrusted crispy skin. To be clear, there is no crunchy crust like Korean fried chicken; all the crispyness is derived from the skin itself.
Despite being layered heavily, the exotic combination of spices(which had some heat) unfortunately did not penetrate to the meat so the meat itself was bland. On the positive side, the chicken was served very hot.
We ordered online but we still waited for 10 minutes upon arrival at the appointed time. At least there was street parking!
Best Thai food in LA & Amazing service ever!!
Portions are EXTREMELY SMALL!!! The food is so-so. Too much money for what you get. I walked out still hungry.
Food and service was wonderful. I thought the garlic chicken rice dish was amazing.
Came here to have dinner before a movie at the Nuart. I wish I had something to say about the food but we didn't even order because there was lipstick on my husband's water cup. I lost my appetite after I saw the stain. Wash your dishes, then I'll consider eating here. But probably not.
I ordered 3 dishes from Uber Eats in Tuk Tuk. Grapow with pork shoulder, holy basil fried rice and string beans. First, all 3 dishes were come in with very small portion. I’m 100% sure they’re 20% less than the in store dining portion. Second, the food quality is unsatisfied with what I paid for, the pork shoulder in grapow is very salty and the rice is soggy and sticky. I was extremely surprised by how less the portion of string beans. It’s almost half of the portion than any other Thai restaurants in West LA. I paid $13 for a kid size dish with countable string beans in the box. Please take your take-out order seriously. This food portion and quality is not align with your high price.
Nice Mood, Good Thai foods, Gluten free menus
Many pick-ups and delivery
best thai I have had in a whillleee their noodles are perfect
Ordered food unknowingly from Tuktuk Thai STALL - BEWARE NEVER EVER ORDER food from the STALL location! UNLESS U WANT BLAND horrible FOOD. STERILE - no person to speak you about your order! No chili sauce given nothing. Ordered SUPER HOT got bland. Weird location with lockers. NEVER AGAIN. If this RESTURANT is good (the real place) great I wod not know, yet having this STALL LOCATION is NOT good for your business! Shut it down. There is no Thai women in the STALL kitchen, as many reviews claims is at the real restaurant. The worst Thai food EVER. Is it cooked by AI? ugh it was just awful !!!!
Tuk Tuk Thai is a delightful little Thai restaurant located right in the heart of Sawtelle's vibrant dining district. My friend and I decided to try it out on a Sunday evening and we were both extremely impressed by the friendly service, speedy cooking, and delicious flavors of the dishes we ordered.
As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated by the hostess. Our server came by right away to take our order - shw was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu items we were interested in. We started off by sharing an order of the spicy Sriracha chicken wings, which had the perfect crunch and zing from the chili sauce. The chicken was moist and fell right off the bone.
One dish I highly recommend is the chicken khao soi - this is a creamy coconut curry noodle soup from Northern Thailand. The broth was incredibly rich and complex, with warming spices like curry, clove and cardamom. The egg noodles were tender and absorbed all the flavors of the broth. The chicken was also perfectly cooked with a nice char. My friend got the kao man gai chicken, which is Hainanese-style poached chicken served over rice with a sweet and salty ginger sauce. The chicken was so moist and flavorful - a simple but excellent preparation.
To drink, we decided to try the pandan Thai iced tea, which had an intriguing nutty floral aroma from the pandan leaf. The tea was creamy and sweet without being overpowering. We also got a small carafe of chilled sake, which was deliciously crisp and smooth. Overall the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of ingredients and care taken in the cooking.
From the warm greeting when we first walked in to the caring goodbye from our server, the service at Tuk Tuk Thai was outstanding. Our food came out quickly and all of our needs were promptly attended to. You can tell the whole staff takes pride in providing an excellent dining experience.
I highly recommend Tuk Tuk Thai if you're in the Sawtelle neighborhood and craving authentic, fresh Thai food. With their friendly service, fast service, incredibly tasty dishes, and value prices, this little restaurant should be on your radar for all your Thai cuisine cravings!
Très bonne ambiance l’accueil est super les serveurs et la cuisine est très bonne aussi les serveurs sont adorable juste un petit point un peu dommage manque de diversité pour les desserts.
Very nice Thai place with great veggie options.
the food was lovely and the waiter was really chill! thank you for an amazing experience :)
love!! such cute lighting and decor too
I have eaten both in person and done takeaway. The food in house is truly delicious and not the normal Thai fare you see in LA. The team is so friendly and helpful! I was blown away however when I ordered take away that the food not only travelled really well but was almost as crazy delicious as if I was eating in the restaurant! For me, it's rare that takeaway ever matches the in house experience!
This is the best Thai Restaurant in the area, amazing food and dishes I wouldn’t usually be able to find at most places.
Very casual Thai restaurant with amazing authentic food. Fish cakes were the best I have had. Pad Thai with prawns was delicious. Service was super friendly. Would definitely go back for such authentic food.
Food was good not so special.
One comment here, most of thai food are eaten with rice. When people order dishes that has no rice, staffs should ask if cust want rice or not. Yes, they didn’t notice me. Need to work harder on customer service.
I ordered here at 10pm and waited a full hour only for them to cancel at 11pm without any explanation. There are no other food options available at this hour so going to bed hungry! Thanks guys
Best Thai food , friendly atmospher and excellent service
I ordered delivery from here and did not enjoy the food. The pad thai was too salty and not flavorful and the thai tea was watered down. 2 stars because the food wasn't inedible. I would go somewhere else
Was good but service has gotten sssllllooowww
Tuk Tuk Thai is a very casual restaurant off the main street. There is limited street parking out front with meters and lots of restrictions. We found a spot that had free parking after 8 PM. We made a reservation since there were 6 of us. The outside dining area was full. We sat inside. There are a few counter seats inside and tables and chairs inside. The restaurant is small and very busy. The red neon light and the original art on the wall gave the restaurant a cool vibe. We ordered family style. The most popular dish was Pad Zee Ew with beef was the crowd favorite. We ordered it with mild spice and it still had a little bit of heat. The Tom Yum soup with shrimp was big enough for 6 people and we still have some left over. The soup came in a pot with a flame to keep it hot. We ordered a few items to start and kept ordering items as the night went on. Everyone liked the spring rolls and OG garlic wings and the dipping sauce. The service was great and they helped us pick out dishes to try. The 18% tip was included on our bill but the waiter still expected us to tip on top of that. He didn’t realize the tip was already included. I would recommend this place and want to try more items on the menu.
Between four people we got the sour sausage, curry dumplings, mushroom larb, pad zee ew with tofu + veggies, chicken pineapple fried rice, Bangkok steak, tapioca pudding, and mango sticky rice, and a bottle of sake (~$50/person with tip).
Highlights were the pad zee ew (very solid, and will fulfill any future craving that I might have for the dish, which is semi-often) and the Bangkok steak (the dipping sauce was key).
Gives a similar vibe as Night + Market but more affordable, would come back again.
Had to wait almost an hour for 3 dishes while the restaurant was mostly empty.
אוכל טוב טעים במחיר הוגן
The place is good, seafood fried rice and pork collar are great, Thai fried rice is not as good. Mango sticky rice is also a good choice, but I only had it once and the mango is not quite sweet (the rice is pretty good though).
Two suggestions: 1. Make the place brighter, it is too dark. 2. One of the waitress please work on her attitude towards people (i.e., do not discriminate).
At my first visit I wasn't impressed but upon my return I was left salivating and wanting to come back for more. The food was delicious and we really needed a proper Thai restaurant on the westside. Thank you!
4th time ordering. 4th time loving every last bite of my meal. Authenticity is there, quality ingredients. Great job tuk tuk. You've upgraded greatly since your days on Pico.
Muy bonito ambiente, excelente servicio y comida típica de muy buena calidad. Muy rica cerveza también
Amazing food, amazing staff. Honestly, we can never go wrong with anything we have there.. the reviews we saw before we went did not lie, this place is definitely 5 star worthy (if there was an option of 7/5, this place would be it). They had a lot of vegetarian options, and the menu is very accomodating with the dietary restrictions...
Ordered via uber eats as is typical these days. Needed to make a request for them not to forget the sauce this time. Tried calling at least 8 times and the phone rang until it hung up. So disappointing that this is the state of the restaurant business in America These days. No responsibility. No accountability. Ignoring their customers and customer requests or complaints and using these delivery services as cover. They all do it and it’s shady, despicable and just bad business.
To add insult to injury our food was over an hour late and the dish I was concerned about not getting the sauce for was missing from our order with a note written on the receipt…SOLD OUT SORRY. Are you for real?! And of course they don’t pick up their phone. The delivery service assumes no responsibility obviously so no accountability, no responsibility zero customer service. I will never order from this place again. The worst!
Thee Best Thai garlic chicken fried rice EVERRR. Also I can’t have peanuts or certain spices, but they get my order 100% every time. Give them a try.
Went with a group form work, and every single thing was great! We basically ordered the whole menu.
Service is horrible. Stuck up woman who are rude and unkind. Two tables got drinks before us. Our server didn't bring us our drinks. She had another rude woman bring our drinks 17 minutes after we ordered them. And they were the wrong drinks. We ordered a soup and they ended up giving another table our soup so in total we waited 43 minutes for our soup and 57 minutes for our rice and Curry. We never got a apology or anything. The whole time we were there the woman who work there were rude and unkind. They all have attitudes. And in this place the Customer is always wrong. Food was good but as you can tell the experience was bad because of the service. Hire new people or teach your employees customer service skills.
This. food. is. the. bomb.
Never misses!
Ok let's recap.
First visit , random lunch invite from a friend. Food was fire and just crazy good, tons of flavor.
Second visit, ordered randomly, even flipped a coin, food was phenomenal and flavorful.
Third visit. Ordered some things new with my SO. Home run.
Each time service was amazing too.
Look, I'm not saying this is probably one of the best Thai Restaurants in West L.A., I'm stating that it might be and that you would have a hard time telling convincing me that it isnt.
Fairly cheap, but still not worth it. The food is just bland. Honestly, the least flavorful Thai food I've ever had. My waiter - without boring you with the details - was incompetent.
So, boring food, and clueless staff.
Don't bother. You can do so much better almost anywhere else.
Excellent food and service!
Iam from costa rica we eat rice all the time there, but this seafood fried rice was spectacular , thanks guys I enjoyed a lot
High quality food at a nice price. We tried their lunch menu which is $17 and was a happy surprise.
Best Thai restaurant I’ve tried for ages! Simply exquisite.
All of the classic Thai dishes with lots of excellent additions. Really cool space, but more importantly really great taste.
Also everyone here is incredibly nice.
One time while waiting for a takeout order, they came outside to insist on turning the heat lamp on so I would survive the freezing 60 degree weather.
Extra rude service! Negative!
New Year’s Eve we ordered Pad Thai for pickup. Literally smelled and tasted like dirty socks. We were blown away by how awful it was and had to take it out to the trash so that the smell wasn’t in the apartment.
Solid enough Thai food, particularly the som thum and the tom kha. However they have some much competition it's hard to say they are truly a 5* experience.
From the vibrant atmosphere, flavorful dishes, and the wonderful staff, this place is worth the visit.
Moss, the manager, was accommodating & welcoming from the get-go, and our server Jordan was one of the friendliest servers, period. The classic dishes are good, but the curry dumplings were the star of our order. We will be back!
The quality of the chicken was bad. I got Panang Curry. Very oily as well. 2/10.
They should understand people could immediately notice the lack of freshness of the ingredients.
Got the Panaeng Curry. It cost $18 (not including fees, taxes, etc) and ends up looking like this. Literally just chicken, curry paste, and coconut milk. Not a vegetable in sight. Flavor is super basic.
The real problem is that the portion size is terrible. It’s probably 8oz (1 cup) total. The container is small and probably 60% empty. Why would anyone pay $18 for a little bit of bland chicken?
This review is for a delivery order (which I wouldn’t recommend), seems like they offer a better product when you dine in.
Average food, terrible service. Took almost an hour to get some bbq chicken and noodles. Even though the takeout and delivery ordered were constantly coming out
The service is fantastic and their food is soooo good.
I love how they serve it.
Best egg rolls I've had.
Try the Thai Palmer it's great!
Plus we told them we were going to a movie and they made sure we made it in time.
We will be back!
Tuk Tuk Thai is tucked away on Sawtelle south of Santa Monica Blvd, but it is an absolute gem!! I’ve ordered take out twice from across the menu, but last time came to pick it up and was charmed by the premises. The interior is completely soundproofed from the traffic outside, the people are beautiful and their Tom Sab Beef Shank is a lemongrass-Herb-Citrus flavor explosion that’s out of this world. If you’re in the neighborhood, just stop in and enjoy a healing moment with this hot pot of heaven in the midst of west LA!
i cannot believe the low reviews here. this is hands down the best thai food on west side. rice dishes, the noodles esp pad thai and all curry’s are on point. chicken satay is tender and super flavorful. they have a bomb roti also(can be ordered ala carte off menu). they did have timing hiccups with delivery that have been ironed out.
The food here was mediocre at best but service we received was bad. We went to place on Friday the 13th in May 2022 (bad omen maybe for the day that it was ??) around 9PM. We knew that the place was supposed to be open till 10PM and the waitress also reminded us that the kitchen the closes at 9:30PM. In retrospect, I did not catch the subtle up obvious hint when the waitress asked us if we wanted to dine in or carry out and whether we made a reservation or not. When we said we were there to dine in, she told us we could seat anywhere that we wanted. The restaurant was sparsely populated at the time, so we gestured the waitress to a seat outside. There were four tables with just one seated by a couple, so we picked one that had four seats for us. The waitress left us menus and utensils on the table and quickly left. The table however had some type of liquid on half of it as did one of the chairs (water perhaps?). But the waitress was nowhere to be found. We stood around for a little but then swapped out the chair with another empty table and got ourselves seated. We than tried to wipe down part of the table with the napkins she left behind.
Anyway, the waitress came back after 5-7 minutes to take our order and we promptly ordered: Tom Yum Soup, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad ZEE EW (Wok fried Noodle Rice) and Bangkok Steak (well done!). I noticed that was around 9:15PM. The soup was served within the next 5+ minutes and so did the Pineapple Fried Rice and Pad ZEE EW; this was around 9:20’ish. We would have liked to have a chance to eat the soup before getting into the entrees as they would all go cold but, oh well, so be it. The soup however was way to salty! It was as if it was cooked with chicken that was overly salted to help preserve it (?), who knows. We did not say anything and continued with the entrees, neither of which tasted anything to write home about; they were just garden variety okay. We were almost done with the entrees less the Bangkok Steak which did not show up. Around 9:45PM, we were almost finished with the food and the waitress came by to see how everything was; we told her that the Bangkok Steak did not turn up and we would like to cancel that at this point since we were done eating and the kitchen was closed already. She hurried to the back of the restaurant and came back saying that the Bangkok Steak was being made well and will be out in a few. She brought us the Bangkok Steak in the next five minutes around 9:55PM when we were done dining. I told the waitress again that this came out late, but she acted as if she didn’t hear me. Anyway, I proceeded to eat it as we weren’t going to throw it out. However, I took one look at the steak and could tell the stake was rare as best. I took one piece and after chewing for a while, had to spit it out as it was raw! The rest of the pieces looked as if they just cut off the meat of a poor cow screaming in the back. It was gross! The waitress would not come back to our table anymore and instead sent in a waiter who asked us if he could pack those for us as it was 10PM and the were closing. In exchange I told him that the beef is totally raw. The waiter immediately suggested he take it off the bill which I had suggested to the waitress 10 mins ago.
All in all, I went to this place based on reviews online, but my experience showed something totally different. It could very well be that this was an anomaly, and the soup was just too salty for unknown reasons. How about the fact that they served raw steak when I mentioned well done? I think not; I am guessing that the waitress forgot to put in the order for the steak until I prompted her at 9:45PM and that’s why it was barely rare. I would take away a couple of stars for the soup and the steak, but I will take two stars for the way the waitress handled out seating and dining. I would not go back to this place again.
Great food here, just wish the waitstaff was a bit more knowledgeable
The place is nice, but food is over cooked, tasted weird. The service was just ok
Bad service and long wait
Ba Mee Haueng Tuk Tuk was so good and crab so fresh ! definately gonna come back and explore this menu !
Just found this place after living on the west side for a couple of years and so glad I did. Ordered it twice in one week. Reasonable prices and great tasting food.
Everything is delicious here!!! Definitely get the wonton for appetizers and roti for dessert!
Great food and service.
amazing and authentic thai food. super friendly service. if you give this place a one ⭐️ you are out of your mind.
Great Thai food on the westside but the takeout experience is atrocious. I've ordered multiple times and my food is never ready when they say it will be.
For example, today I put an order in on their website at 6:54pm. Before I placed the order, the website said 30-45 min pickup time. After I placed the order, the restaurant said my order would be ready at 7:54pm. That's already a problem, but set that aside for a moment. I arrive at the restaurant at 7:55pm and they said my food will be ready in 5-10 minutes. That's 20-25 minutes after originally promised. I go there in 10 minutes and they say it will be ready in 10-15 minutes, "sorry we're running behind". Finally at 8:15pm my food is ready.
They are always running behind. This happens every single time. This isn't something to be sorry about. It's a fundamental issue with the restaurant.
Not worth the good food. On the plus side, tea mug boba next door is great for killing all of the time you're wasting.
Delicious food, friendly staff.
best pad kee mow ive had in LA, and sweet service :)
So so good!
Delicious find!
I don’t understand what the bad reviews are about. All their rice dishes are amazing (especially the chilli holy basil) and the siracha wings are some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Gutted to see they’re temp closed right now, hoping they open again.
My new go-to Thai spot! Great for date night. Incredibly delicious menu with so many cool options. Really cool atmosphere. I will definitely be returning.
The service was fantastic and the food even better. The flavor profiles of each dish we ordered were incredible. My go to Thai in LA. Highly recommended!
The west side outpost of one of the oldest Thai restaurant in LA is a joy to behold. The dishes were flavorful and, while I’m not Thai, they reminded me of dishes that I’ve tasted in Thailand. One particular highlight was the fried rice which had plenty of the vaunted wok hei that lovers of fried rice seek. The restaurant has a good mix of indoor and outdoor dining. The only minor quibble is that the restaurant is on a busier stretch of Sawtelle so parking can be a tad difficult to find. Still, the food is well worth it and we will definitely be back.
Great food and kind people. I loved the medium Panang Curry.
The pad thai (w/tofu and vegetables) was the best I've ever had. The spicing was intricate and yet offered a really cohesive flavor profile. The tofu was had fully absorbed this flavor was crispy on the outside, the noodles were springy. Highly recommend.
Food was freaking delicious
Food was really good.
Food is authentic and truly delicious. I have been living in Phuket for 24 years and it was great to have such a savory meal and excellent service while I am in LA. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to experience Thai food and hospitality.
