Comfortable restaurant specializing in Thai cuisine, including noodle dishes & vegan options.
The atmosphere was perfect and cozy, got seated fairly quickly even tho they were busy.
The food came out pretty quick once we ordered.
I had the pad Thai and we ordered a chicken fried rice and both were really good!
Everything that i saw come out to other tables looked delicious.
Definitely coming back.
I tried the larb duck. It had a lot of dry parts. When I asked the employee, she said this was the normal service. I think it was reheated a few times or burned in the oven. If this is the normal service, it is definitely not my style. Those who will order should take this into consideration. Creepe cakes are different and original. I can give 3.5-4 stars for this dessert.
Amazing service, great safe outdoor dining, pup friendly, and tasty spicy Thai food! Highly recommend glass noodles, pad Thai, chicken lettuce wrap, and the house specialty spicy beef with jasmine rice.
There is some street front parking, but it can be a little tight.
This is one of our favorite spots. We are always trying new dishes, and also ordering our favorites.
The outdoor patio is just awesome. It transforms the entire feel, and gives you an intimate, special dining experience.
The food is tasty, and can be made very spicy! It is great.
There is also sidewalk seating out front, and a few tables indoors.
2024 update: continues to be one of our favorite Thai spots in La. Great team, beautiful nature filled patio, and delicious food. Highly reco the chili basil dishes, the glass noodles, and the lettuce chicken wraps!
This is a quaint restaurant that has been serving Thai food for so many years. The owners have kept and displayed napkin doodles, postcards and notes from their customers. These are haphazardly displayed on the dining tables under a glass top.
The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The food was served at a nice pace. We loved the fancy shrimp salad and dusty pig . The Tom yum, pad Thai and pad see ew were too sweet compared to other places. The satay chicken was flavorful.
We ordered too much and there was no room for the mango sticky rice.
A quaint and cozy, but somehow vibrant all at once, place to get the best Tom Kha soup I've ever had in my entire life. I wish this place existed in Canada in Calgary because I'm craving it and will be for the rest of forever until I can get back to LA. The staff were just so friendly, and the dishes came fast. If I could rate this 10 stars, I would! Make sure to visit in LA!
michelin star level food. The most incredible wings I have ever eaten in my life.
Really great authentic Thai food, excellent sticky rice!
Cute place nestled in a house with lots of plants. Their food was flavorful and service was quick and friendly.. they offer lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Rad na was a great non-spicy option.
Update : our new favorite is Khao Soi noodle soup. It's delicious.

Serving sizes are great, I ordered too many dishes and ended up with dinner for the next day. Their Thai tea is amazing, mango sticky rice is so good. This place is worth the trip and battling for parking lol
Magnifique quand je viens de France pour séjourner a sliver lake je me rends tjr dans ce restaurant ! Magnifique
What a terrific find. We were in LA for a few days and I can tell you we had a variety of dishes and all were so authentic, fresh, fabulous!! Recently, I was I was in Bangkok, and this was so on par with the real deal. Staff is so nice and efficient, cool vibe all around..you can’t go wrong!!!
Imagine you are me and all your friends want to get together for a dinner in Silverlake. Where do you go? One friend suggests The Silver Lake House by Leela Thai, saying she went once with a friend who has since moved away, gotten married, and unfollowed her on Instagram. Of course I agree and hope this place is as good as she remembers.
It’s better. This is the kind of place that is so powerfully charming and delicious it makes you want to return to create new memories to replace the old ones with old friends who have removed themselves from your life.
I got the massaman curry. It was rich, complex, and light. I was so delighted.
Oh yes, and this place even has a cat who makes the rounds. It is not a weird cat, it is a gray cat.
Fun place with a great staff. Fun walkable neighborhood. The food is great. Wonderful presentation, and so yummy! Great place for a date or just to get a great meal or snack.
Honestly best thai food I've had in LA yet! So good. Fresh fresh ingredients. Like super fresh. So quick. so kind. Clean plate club 😋 👌
Bit of a wait to get in and service was a little slow but great food and atmosphere
I ate here the other night with my partner and WOW it might have been the best thai restaurant we've ever been to! He is a chef and so we are very particular when it comes to eating out - and this place truly blew us away. The wonton pad thai is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten I am literally still thinking about it. We had to wait a bit for a table but once we were in, the service was so fast and good. Super affordable and absolutely delicious, we will be back if we're ever in LA again!
Great authentic Thai food and great service. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in LA. I always stop if I’m in the area.
Everything was a 10/10 - There is a really charming outdoor space in addition to indoor seating. The wait time for the food to arrive was minimal. The quality of the food & drinks is on par to what you’d get in Thailand! We ordered all vegetarian dishes - tofu pad thai, tofu larb, drunken veg dumplings, summer rolls. I don’t see the thai iced green tea offered at most Thai places (outside of Thailand) so I couldn’t help but order it when I saw it on the drinks menu. It tasted exactly how they taste from the street vendors in Thailand!!! Price is unrivaled with the portion sizes and quality! Will definitely be going back.
Best Thai food i have had outside of Thailand!!!
Best Thai food.
Such a cute and cozy place!!!! We Love sitting outside in the patio-
The spicy beef salad is AMAZING! Great vibes, friendly staff!
It is one of my favorite restaurants in Silverlake. It's one of those rare places that meateaters and vegans can go and there is something delicious for everyone. The atmosphere is a vibe in itself.
Excellent food and excellent service by far the best Thai spot in the area
Omg, this place has the best vibe & super amazing food!!! Everything was great BUT my daughter wanted the Spicy Chicken Wings & asked if she could request mild, the server said no, so she then ordered the shrimp dish. We'll the couple next to us was chatting with us & we noticed he ordered ordered the wings & the server accommodated his request for mild seasonings. Other than that you will love The Silver Lake House!!!
Great pad Thai and beautiful outdoor seating!
Unwarranted rude service!!! I will not be returning to spend my money at this establishment.
Great food, extra friendly service. Excellent decor as well. Good price for lunch
The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious and the space is inviting and pretty big. Plates are also shareable if you want to try more than one dish. Definitely must try!
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. The fried chicken, wonton soup, yellow curry & pad Thai were all phenomenal. Was fairly empty during on a weekday.
A quaint and cozy, but somehow vibrant all at once, place to get the best Tom Kha soup I've ever had in my entire life. Love this spot!
Love the atmosphere, love the food, love bringing everybody I know to eat here! Great portions and great prices too.
Many options for vegan ans I’m sure you’ll find your favorite dish here!
Amazing service, great safe outdoor dining, pup friendly, and tasty spicy Thai food! Highly recommend glass noodles, pad Thai, chicken lettuce wrap, and the house specialty spicy beef with jasmine rice.

Used to be better. Their Kao Soi noodles used to come with a side of fresh veggies, like their menu says. Kao Soi needs the crispy veggies as toppings - that's how it should be served! But I called right after I picked up my order, and they told me they no longer offer the veggies with the dish. Have to go somewhere else for Kao Soi now. Sad! :(
Proportions are great. Good comes out quick
Street parking only
Everything is good, food is excellent, the only problems is to find parking spot
What a treat of a find! Just stunning! So popular we had to wait 20mins for a table, but so worth it. I'll be back!
Great place for Thai food after a run around Silver Lake. We've been craving for Thai food for a while and we had been disappointed with other options in LA. The drunken noodle was the right amount of spiciness while the khao soi was slightly sweet for me.
Amazing! Unfortunately the food was too good to stop and snap a photo of!!!
One of my favorite places to eat in LA. The food is delicious with many vegan options, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy with the trees on the patio. The staff is also kind and attentive.
It used to be better, but this last time and the previous time the food was not fresh and the service was not good they basically throw everything on the table.
La comida estaba deliciosa, pedimos pad thai, fried rice, pato! Y todo excelente! Los sabores muy auténticos, y sabrosos, el pato estaba rico picosito, y de postre un mango sticky rice! Bien pinche bueno todo!
So damn good. Great after a walk around the Silverlake reservoir. We were able to walk in and get a table in their backyard seating without any reservation on a Thursday evening.
Food was delicious although could be a bit spicier, loved the atmosphere out back.
We went here on a Sunday night before a show at the echo and had a great meal for a really reasonable price. I ordered the Tom kha soup with shrimp and drunken veggie dumplings, which were both really good and came out super fast. We sat inside, which is very charming, and it has a really cute patio area as well! Highly recommend!
I ordered via DoorDash. Generous portions and each item was delicious! I got a Thai tea with boba, crab rangoons, pad see ew, and the crepe cake. (I treated myself lol) the only weird thing was I ordered pad see ew with beef and they included both beef and chicken, wasn’t a huge deal since I like both. Fair priced as well
Great service great food, an overall pleasant experience 👍
Very good food! Many dishes to choose from. A friendly cat came for cuddles.
BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN LOS ANGELES! Truly an amazing restaurant with brilliant chefs and employees! They are so friendly and welcoming. They’re very accommodating and sensitive to specific dietary needs!
If you’re looking for a new place to eat you’ll probably become a regular. The food is just so good you can’t help but coming back!
A cozy spot with outdoor seating options. Had the best Tom yum soup in LA so far at this place!! It is full of flavor yet not too salty or oily, and it is clean. After dining here, I craved their Thai food for an entire week. All my friends live their food too!
I’ve been there for Eat, takeout and Deliverywhich were all good experiences except the last delivery the pineapple fried rice was so tasteless and dry I gave it to the dog
Awesome authentic Thai food here.
Charming patio, all the food was delicious. The green curry was especially yummy! Can’t wait to go back.
I'd lick the yellow curry off the floor. I'm always shocked this place doesnt have a line around the block
I feel like the portions are on the smaller side, hard to tell though, since we got them to go. I Wish we ate there though, it's so cute!
One dish we got was underwhelming, can't recall what that was, but the Khao Soi still hit the spot!
On vacation from Chicago and this is some of the best Thai we’ve ever had! The place was super busy and we had to put our names on their wait list sheet. It took 20/30 minutes but completely worth it. They’re a little understaffed but if you’re patient you can experience some amazing food!
Panang Curry, Pad See Eiw, Summer Rolls, Rangoons all 10/10!
4.5 stars rounded up.
Food is good. They give more meat than you’d expect, which is a pleasant surprise. Parking is easy. Service is quick and warm.
Tom Kha was bomb. Pad Thai was mid to above average. Lacked some flavor and the noodles weren’t great. But again, the Tom Kha was excellent.
Curry red green yellow.. quiet. Excellent food
We love everything here
Whenever I'm in this area, I make it a point to eat here! Great food, great service, and you can't beat the patio seating. Silver Lake gem.
Service was amazing
Green Curry was a little small and sweet but still amazing
Good portions, good flavors, and great atmosphere
This place is quirky and the food is amazing (:
Tom Kha soup to die for. Perfectly balanced. Tasty with chicken.
My must go place in LA.
Great food & great staffs!
Worth waiting in the line.
All the staff were nice. They work really hard to give you a pleasant experience. The food was great. The Thai select designation is well deserved.
Delicious Thai food accompanied by an excellent service, all very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful dinner experience and I’ll definitely be back in the future.
Got a Penang curry, boat noodle soup, and crab fried rice, with spice level medium. They gave three day old rice with the curry. Literally it’s yellow and dry, just like how my rice would be like in the rice cooker for 60 hours. We asked the waitress about it and she said they are fresh, which I doubt. The curry wasn’t spicy at all, only sweet. Noodle was okay… nothing special. Also never had crab fried rice where the egg was separately placed on top. Most unsatisfied meal I’ve had. Don’t know how they got such a good rating. Oh right and the plates were that clean :/
Best athai food I've ever had.
The service was so quick we were pleasantly surprised
Had the crispy rolls, summer rolls, Thai in papaya salad, green Thai curry, pad Thai
And it's in the middle of trees and plants, what a beautiful peaceful ambience :)
Everything was delicious. Can't wait to h back :)
P.S. don't have photos cos we just stuffed our faces as soon as the food was kept on the table :D
One of the best thai food restaurants. I went there with friends and family this afternoon. It wasn't too busy. We ordered vegetarian food and they had plenty of options. Their menu is really extensive! The service was great. Food got delivered within 10 minutes of ordering it. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy some thai food.
It’s just EXCELLENT!
After living in the LA area for almost 21 years, I knew about the Silver Lake community but for whatever reason I had never made a visit. What a gem of a find this was for my first ever visit. I hope one of the things that is a permanent result of the pandemic is SoCal adopting more sidewalk dining which is a staple of most other places with good weather, so getting a table on the sidewalk was a bonus. The spicy drunken noodles and combo fried rice were amazing and the Ovaltine Volcano desert took me back to my childhood of drinking Ovaltine and eating Maltezers. Loved Leela's and will definitely return to Silver Lake in the not too distant future.
Easily one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve been to. Only downside is the wait times, expect food to arrive 25-30 min after ordering during busier nights. The seating list can also get quite ridiculous as well
I did not like the service of one of the employees. I felt it was racist, I don't know if because I was Latino
I’ve been coming here for years, but I have to say I’m done. Every time I eat here the price goes up. I understand inflation is a reality, but I also see how businesses are capitalizing on inflation by using it as an excuse to keep gauging their customers. I’ve been getting the same thing for about 3 years. It has gone from $36 to now $50. They won’t even include chili sauce in take out and said they will only give us packets of siracha sauce. They gave us 1 packet. Sorry, the food is no longer worth the price. I will find another Thai restaurant. Goodbye.
I didn’t eat in, had take away, it’s decent Thai food, nothing out or ordinary but not bad either. It’s on main road, so good luck finding parking and they have outdoor seating available. Which is good but the road is pretty busy so invisible dust😀
Pretty chill spot. Really live vibe, quick and efficient service, and the food was really good.
20% service charge that goes to owners then expecting a tip? Nope not on my dime
love Thai food and saw great things online about this restaurant, every single thing I ordered was awful. Which is really surprising given the reviews, maybe it was an off day ?
We got pad see ew, curry pot
Pie, crab Rangoon, satay, and beef salad.
Pad see ew had barely any flavor , and the noodles were whitish. Idk maybe that means they didn’t use enough sauce?
Curry pot pie , just okay, curry thin and pot pie itself was over cooked.
Crab Rangoon, I get this is just American food
But it was a bad take on it. Filling tasted
Like pure cream cheese.
Satay, I liked the curry sauce but the chicken was dry
Beef salad, looked very lifeless , Thai beef salads, and the salad wasn’t even mixed.
I’m really hoping it was just an off day
The food is so good! And worth the price, love coming here the service is good and the wait is short once you’ve ordered. We got here around 6? On a Friday and the rush didn’t hit until like 8:00 but it did hit. Parking can be rough around peak hours for sure it’s on a Main Street! We got the cream cheese rangoons, Tom kha, spicy glass noodles, and pineapple curry! It was so good and filling the portions were good as well we had left overs. I also got the Thai tea with almond milk instead of half n half since they have that option!
Such a cozy ✨ 😌 place for a yummy lunch 😋
Everything was mediocre. My favorite dish was green curry, refreshing and flavorful. I would come back if the neighborhood cat made a pit spot. Other than that, I rather go somewhere else.
This place is one of my go-to favorites and never disappoints. The food and customer service are consistently exceptional, both for dine-in and takeout. Everything is always delicious and made with high-quality ingredients. Some favorites are the crepe cake (it's perfection), crispy rolls, tom kha soup, wonton soup, summer rolls (the peanut sauce is killer), silver kindling noodles, panang salmon, and the crepe cake (seriously, it's perfection).
Now Called:
"The Silver Lake House"...!
Summer Rolls...10 stars ✨...! Extremely Addicting Year Round...! *HDL* Homemade Peanut Sauce is the healthy sauce...! Staff...10 stars ✨...! They do in fact take plastic for those that left old reviews to the contrary...! 👻💨 Exceptional outdoor breezy patio seating under a giant shade tree or another section with sun...! Excellent Dessert...! & “the best way to tell someone to eat dirt”...!..
The cutest Thai restaurant! Food and service is amazing too! ❤️
Extremely authentic with authentic Thai food. The steak salad was definitely my favorite, but I could probably bathe in the satay peanut sauce if someone were to pay me to do so.
Got the green curry and it was on par with some of the best green curry I’ve had.
The best part was after our meal when a house cat caught and killed a bird in front of everyone on the back patio. It’s the circle of life and it is beautiful.
The Silver Lake House is home to my absolute FAVORITE place on earth for Drunken Noodles. Then I doubled down on the Drunken Dumplings and BAYBEEEE. Shout out to my roomie @cydd.a for showing me the light. They have a good lunch menu that of course does not include said drunken noodles, but it’s only $11 anyways so it’s still my forever order. And behind all these lights is a really cute patio garden. I think about this place often and would eat it weekly if i could.
Dusty Pig and the Wonton Pad Thai were insanely good. I can't wait to go back to this place and I just finished eating.
Prepare for a delight at Silverlake House by Leela Thai! Their ambiance is a harmonious blend of tranquility, serenaded by soothing music. They curate an exquisite collection of natural wines, skillfully selected to complement the fiery tang of their soup.
Unforgettable dish highlights include The Dusty Pig, a mouthwatering fusion of zest, crunch, and Thai Larb-inspired spice in fried pork form. The Tom Zaap Soup is a spicy concoction of roasted powder and soft pork bone broth that will instantly revive your senses. Don't miss out on the Devil Wings, saucy, spicy wings with a bit of everything. For a more refreshing option, opt for the Som Tum E-Saan Salad, a spicy Papaya salad bursting with authentic flavors, perfect when paired with sticky rice. Finally, try the Pad Thai Crispy Wonton, a fresh spin on a classic street dish.
There's an array of culinary adventures waiting for you to uncover at Silverlake House. So, why not treat your special someone to a delightful day or night out? It's truly the best gift you could give.
Having grown up in Vancouver, I have a high standard for Asian food and this place is quite good.
The atmosphere is nice - especially the garden seating area. We got the Drunken Noodle, Tom Kha soup and Crab Fried Rice. All the dishes tasted delicious. If I had to nitpick, the beef in the Drunken Noodles were a bit thick and the Crab Fried Rice lacked a bit of flavor. This isn’t to say it wasn’t great - these are slight preference developed from eating at hundreds of Thai restaurants.
Service was also quite good. Portions were also good. For the price, the value was great.
Cozy spot with good, but not exceptional food.
Delicious! Try the drunken gyosas
Overpriced for quality and quantity of food they serve.
food was so good & the vibe of the overall place is really cute. they bring out space heaters once it starts getting dark. there’s a restaurant cat that walks around and it’s so cute. i think it’s making sure everyone is having a good time 😂
the dishes are a la carte! so it’s good to order a few a share! we got the heavenly chicken, steamed broccoli, brown rice, and pad kee mow with shrimp. it was delicious.
I was told by someone about this Restaurant and I went with my Daughter and my 2 Sons, all of Us were super satisfied with this visit. We will be there more often. We loved it. Great experience.
Quaint and delish, don't pass this one by!
A local Thai restaurant with some outside dining.
I'm literally considering moving here just to be near this place. $11 lunch special this good?? I'm very particular about my pad kra pao basil stir fry... Most places can't hit all the requirements. Spicy, sweet, tangy, and with the chicken cooked properly. This one nailed it and then some 🤌🔥
This is a quaint restaurant that has been serving Thai food for so many years.
The food was excellent but the service was trash. We didn’t have a designated server and had to keep flagging the staff multiple times to order food and request napkins. When it was time to pay, the wait staff were very attentive. We ordered the chicken satay (yum!), lettuce wraps, fancy shrimp salad (yummy dressing) and chicken broccoli noodles…oh and the gnats were too invasive.
Best Mango Sitcky Rice. Portions are big and fairly priced
The yellow curry is amazing here. Ordered here multiple times for take out and never disappoints.
Great.
I'm a fan. I'm no expert in Thai food but I've ordered takeout from here several times and I'm always happy with it. Potstickers in Green Curry is really good, Pad Kee Mao is really good, Pad Thai is good. I'm picky about my meat and the only thing I wasn't a fan of was their pork in the noodle dishes I tried once. I stick with tofu or chicken now. Spring rolls are the only thing I've tried that I wouldn't get again. Now just need to experience dining in!
Our first experience was terrible, the pineapple fried rice and pad thai was burned, we opened the box and the smell was strong, tasted bad, we had to dispose all the food, we drove far so it was not worth driving just to show our concern, this time we ordered hoping to have a better experience and it was a little better, but still you can smell something was burned, so , I think that is the way they prepare their food.
Will I order again, probably not. Not recommended.
Amazing food! Lots of vegetarian/ vegan options.
Super cute outdoor sitting, but since it is popular- sometimes it is loud :)
This is my favorite Thai food in the city!
I would die without this food. It’s hits the spot and tastes like a home cooked meal every time. Super fast service and the staff is very friendly. I look forward to eating here every week :) 10/10 recommend.
Very very slow to take the order, process the order and get the food out. Ordered at 8:30pm and waited an hour just for the appetizer.
The best tom kha soup
My fault. Ordered raw shrimp salad. I'm thinking, cooked shrimp, just not breaded. No, raw. Sent back, asked if they could cook the shrimp. Came back 1/2 cooked. Still too raw. Didn't eat. Appetizers good. I got the sampler one. The fried noodles ordered for grandson were good. Like eating candy. Crunchy and sweet.
Went with co workers. The food was delicious. And the service was great. Looking forward to coming back.
If you like pho, try the boat noodle soup. Cheapest Thai I have found in LA. Can’t beat the lunch specials @10$
My favorite Thai restaurant in LA. I lived in Thai Town and would still drive down here. They have a really cute patio, it's mostly covered outdoor seating but there are some indoor spots as well. Prices are reasonable, food is amazing, and my service is always great.
One of my favorites in Silverlake!
Small eatery, nothing spectacular, but cute
Great place. Been coming here over the years and it's always delicious food.
Went here two nights in a row! Soooo tasty and great service as well
