Thai Food in West Hollywood
We went there late in the night at around 11:00 I think the place closes at midnight. So it was pretty empty but it was also pretty cool and chill.
I like the vibe and the ambiance very chill out and very casual. I also really like the decor which provides a very relaxing ambience to dine and eat.
We got a fried rice with broccoli and oyster sauce and also garlic noodles. I think garlic noodles was an extra they provide good portion but I totally loved their food. Their iced tea was a good quantity.
I would definitely come back again
If I could give less than one star, I would. This place used to be my favorite before things changed around. They are cheap with the food, horrible customer service, rude, and overall terrible experiences in the last few visits. I ordered vegetable curry, it came with four small slices of potatoes and four small carrots, when I called to tell the girl she was very argumentative and very rude interrupting, nonstop and at some point aggressive. I asked to speak with the owner. She said you will never talk to her and she will not do anything for you. In the past they burned the wonton, this time when I asked the girl if I could order wonton, will she make sure they would not be burned, she said no, I’m not sure if it will come out good, I will just take it out of the order. Some of you might say that this should’ve been a sign not to order but I simply gave them the benefit of the doubt since I’ve been going there for years. Unfortunately, they stiffed the money and they gave me very bad food.
they have always been overpriced, it was OK when the food was good, but it’s not the case anymore.
Avoid this place at all costs. Unless, of course you’re looking for a very bad experience. After sifting the vegetable curry, you can see in the attached pictures the 4&4 carrots and potatoes I got in a large vegetable curry order.
The little lady that helped me was extremely rude. I was picking up an order for delivery. She treated me as if I was trying to steal food. She asked if I can scan the QR code. I said sure, and was pulling up the scan section on my phone. I never even reached for the bag of food and she barked at me 2 more times "CAN U SCAN THE CODE!?" I said "that's what I'm trying to do" and I turned my phone around for her to see. She then said I was being rude and she slid the food away from me and held onto it. I told her I have to open up the portion on the app to scan the code. She then threatened to leave me a negative review. Not sure if there is a cultural/language barrier, but in America, it's considered rude if u repeatedly order someone to do something while they are actively trying to do the task.
Worst Thai Food we’ve ever had in our lives! To start with the drinks: Jasmine Tea arrived lukewarm in the metal kettle, and it was 3/4 full. Thai Iced Tea was syrupy and awful. Green Curry was watery lacked flavor, and vegetables over cooked. Pad Se was Eeeewwww! Two of us were dining and they brought one glass of water?? Complete joke . Don’t waste your time…..
Visiting LA and after Universal with my boyfriend and brother, we wanted a quick bite to eat and blindly picked this place through Google, and it was amazing. Food is like eating from my best Thai friends house, so authentic. Service was wonderful. The nice girl was alone and seemed so busy but was very sweet. Id definitely recommend it and come back on my next visit.

Rude and unkind waitress, the food is tasteless and greasy. I don't recommend this place
Pad Thai really good, perfectly cooked noodles and flavor 7.5/10
Best mango sticky rice I’ve had in LA, maybe in my life 10/10
horrible experience i’ve ever had! different than picture!
we didn’t finished our meal, and then server took the dish away! really rude!!! horrible service!

We drove here today from 20 minutes away and the business was closed during the day.
Then double-checked their opening hours on Google Maps and there is was mention of closed times.
Very bad experience. Mean staff and bad food. Terrible.
Ordered delivery for 5 and everyone was happy with their meal. Main dishes didn’t come with rice though.
Horrible Thai food. But one get one free is a scam on Uber ends up being the same as buying 2 dishes
Food was sensational! We forgot to order rice with our meals through Uber eats and sunset Thai had us covered with complimentary rice with a lovely message stating “just incase you forgot to order rice”. Absolutely 5 star service and quality. Highly recommend.
Please note this is a rating of a delivery. We were at an address about 12 blocks away from this restaurant, but strangely our order was extremely poor, both in terms of quantity (portion size) and quality, with my girlfriend's wonton soup being a bland water with some wontons swimming in it which was as tasteless as this description may make it sound. For the amount charged, I would not recommend the food in this restaurant.
Lovely little place. Getting initial service was a little difficult because the server was super busy in the back helping pack to go orders, but once we ordered service was quick and prompt and the food was really good! Would go back if I was in the area.
This place slaps! 10/10
Just ordered delivery from this restaurant for the first time. We ordered two pad see-ew and we weren’t able to eat them bc there was way too much fish oil. We were able to smell it even before unpacking it. The noodles were over cooked, so were the dumplings we ordered as appetizer. We’re used to order Thai delivery and this is by far the worst one we ever got.
Update based on the restaurant's response: it wasn't fish oil, it was "thin soysauce and sugar vinegar" -- The point it we were not able to eat it because the taste was too strong and really bad. The noodles were so overcooked they were just a blob of something.
My friends and I ordered door dash from this place. The curry came without rice, despite having not selected the option without rice. After calling the restaurant and finding out that apparently the curry is sold without rice and we didn't order the extra rice. We tried to explain about the door dash website for ordering from their restaurant and they insisted that we were wrong.
The drunken noodles and pad Thai were not very good. The drunken noodles were so spicy it couldn't be finished. No one finished the pad Thai either.
The Thai tea was very good though.
One of the best Thai food restaurants ever. Reasonable price and very tasty food
Esperamos encontrar comida thailanes popular buena, pero no fue así, no nos gustó, no era la comida qué nosotros conocemos, estamos acostumbrados a la comida thailanes qué se sirve en el este de Hollywood blvd en Los Angeles.
I have ordered from this location quite often. I was super disappointed when I ordered pad Thai MILD, and it came with an excessive amount of pepper flakes on it, I ordered mild because I was having my friend try my “favorite” place, and we both couldn’t even take more than two bites. Really really disappointing because I’ve loved this place.
very overpriced food for such a small portion. the pad thai was the worst i was very disappointed because pad thai is usually good but the pad thai from here is so disgusting the flavor was just horrible it was too sweet and i got shrimp and the shrimp was dirty. i wish i could give this place 0 stars. i drove 60 miles just to eat here it was a waste of my time and money. i wish i could get a refund. also, their bathroom is all the way in the back so you have to walk right by all the cooks. do not waste your time eating at this place
Pad thai was a pile of goo. It is the worst food I have experienced ever in my life. How is this place in business? Shut it down
Nice food. Good service.
We stopped by for lunch, and we had their lunch dishes, which were great for the price. Great atmosphere and customer service. It was easy to find free road parking on Sunday, and there was no rush at the restaurant.
Pad Thai was very bland, needs way more sauce/flavoring. Orange chicken was mediocre as well, pretty weird tasting sauce. Good portion sizes.

Fast, friendly, affordable, delicious.
fast, arrived hot, packaged thoughtfully and tasted 👌
tried the orange chicken and the pad thai tofu. both delicious. will definitely order again.
Very delicious food and flexible menu. I have been there many times. Customer service is also welcoming. Expect Awkwardness unless otherwise tipped well 🤷🏻♂️!
2 stars. Have you ever been to a restaurant where your waiter tells you your kid is to loud, and to keep it down so the guest whos on their phone talking about crying emojis so loud we can hear their entire conversation but apparently they cant hear cause our kid is happily eating and talking to us at a normal level voice.
Your food was delicious, compliments to the chefs. However we will never eat here again with service like that.
Large portions, good service. Average food - more Chinese than Thai.
My crab noodles were very good but my partner’s orange chicken was a bit oily. Food overall was okay but the prices here are a bit high for the food you get.
Very good Thai food. Tom Kha Kai was some of the best I've had. Pad Thai was good. My friend had Red Curry. He enjoyed it. Server was working alone, but he was fast and friendly. Location is great on the Sunset Strip. Convenient curbside parking.
Authentic Thai place where dining in is a bit basic (service is great though) but the food is absolutely fabulous!
Super delicious food + awesome service! A hidden gem.
Some of the best food I have ever had! We tried a little bit of everything. The service was absolutely phenomenal!!!
good food, but they nickel & dime you for everything .
8 years ago the only charge on my CC was Sunset Thai, total perfection consistently. When i recently moved back it was closed and sadly i thought it had fallen victim to the pandemic. Today it was open and realized it had been closed for remodel, i was excited!
Today my go to yellow curry was quite disgusting, so much fish sauce and no trace of the traditional yellow curry flavor profile. The pad Thai was good but definitely fell short of my 5 star review or much vocalized recommendations.
The service is nice.
very overpriced and small food portions . there is definitely better thai food options out there
Good food (we took pad Thai) at reasonable prices in LA. Nice and kind staff, clean place. Highly recommended!
Kind of disappointing unfortunately and probably won't order again. I ordered the chicken tom yum noodles which usually (from most other places) include at least a few pieces of veggies or mushrooms or herbs as the very least. But it's just soup with chicken breast. I would've been okay with this if it were freshly made soup but I'm almost 90% sure this came from a packet or something, because it tastes like a Thai packet soup. Which I guess explains the lack of herbs.
Yummy Thai food located right along Sunset boulevard!
Food was delicious - both my sister and I ordered pad see ew TO GO, hers with beef and mine with fried tofu. (FYI - beef was an extra $2 charge... did not know this until I paid). I also ordered a Thai-iced tea to go (I bit pricey... $4.50 for a standard 16oz size). The pad see ew was delicious, fresh, and very flavorful. They cooked the tofu in mine wonderfully - chewy, tasty and full of flavor. I wanted to mention this because not all restaurants know how to cook tofu for vegetarians like myself, but this place killed it! The Thai-iced tea, on the other hand, was meh... not the best I've ever had, but not bad either. It was just OK.
5/5 Pad see ew
3/5 Thai iced tea
Parking - ahh a nightmare! I went to pick up my food around 5:14pm on a Thursday and there was no street parking (rush hour) and the side streets metered parking were all taken. I circled around twice until I finally found a metered spot--had to pay for that even though I was only there to pick up my order and pay! It's just not the best location for to-go orders/pick up, that's all.
Other notes - it IS a bit pricey $$$ but I knew this going in. Nevertheless, the food was not disappointing, and I would definitely come back again!
If you are not sure where to get good pad see ew in the area, try this place!! I promise you won't regret!
It's very good on the weekends the weekdays are kind of iffy
Exceptional. Best Panang Curry in Los Angeles.
Nice friendly service and good food
FYI They close at 10pm, not 3am.
Slow, but worth the wait
We ordered the Lao special! It was a very colorful and delicious platter. Don't order anything else, this is good for 3-4 people. I also had the lavender drink which was refreshing for it being 90 degrees in Los Angeles
The chicken panang is especially good and the Thai toast is very tasty. So were the egg rolls.
The ABSOLUTELY WORSTE food on earth. I'm a chef and know food. Potstickers were never cooked and stuck to the package they were sent in... there was no integrity or purpose. Total disregard for quality. 1/2 the potstickers were torn apart.
This is the best Penang curry with tofu I’ve had since being in Los Angeles. I have tried Penang curry at three other locations and they were all very disappointing. I’m looking forward to trying other dishes here!
Ordered through DoorDash. The amount you get is a lot - my pad Thai container was pretty heavy. Either the best or second best Thai food I’ve ever had. I was going to save the rest of my order for tomorrow but I couldn’t resist the sweet & savory flavor. I would recommend ordering with fried tofu as your protein. Delicious!
Food is excellent. Best Thai restaurant around
We love this place. We have dined in and had carryout. Dishes are flavorful, fresh, and not greasy! Restaurant is clean and service friendly. Tgis is our go-to for Thai.
I like this place a little more then some of the competition... a little less pricey and the food is just as good or better
Great place to wine and dine. The food is so D" good .. yes.. tell all your friends and FAMILY. Check out sunset Thai cuisine.. clean and neat. Great customer service. 💜💋😂
Best Thai i have had in a very long time.
Very good food and good service
Slow
The worst thai food I ever had. Sticky pad thay, old stinky beef and undercooked chcken. + poor service - waitress just came once, and then we were sitting with dirty dishes for 15 minutes. I wanted to order dessert, but she just brought check.
Love it
Good place Good Service good food
Great food! Call ahead when picking up. Gets busy.
Yep this place is the real deal. Went there for dinner, craving pho. Ended up ordering half the menu. This place has both Vietnamese and Thai style food, and everything was good, yes everything. So good that we came back the next day for lunch. Cheap lunch specials and lots to pick from! I wish there was a place like this in New Jersey.
Great Service! Delicious Food !
Good Place to Dine in.....
Amazing food!!!
I really enjoyed this fusion Thai restaurant. Fusion might not be the right word, maybe "innovative" is more apropos.
The food came cold and I'm not sure the chicken was fresh. Sorry
Very good food.
I here with a group 10 we wait around 30 minutes before they came up to take our orders no bother to asked if we needed anything so finally they took the orders 6 people have the food re..made so never came back here and they got so mad because l didn't tip well they make you feel like it mandatory to tip . I am very good at tipping if i get a good services. Sorry this place fool tested very old and nasty.
Tom yum soup is 🔥🔥🔥 as well as the mango rice
Nothing fancy but great food and just the right portions. We go there every time we are in LA.
Meat was hard and A bit pricey for just steak and some salad
Had a chicken pad thai. Taste wasn't great. Wouldn't rush back.
Womp Womp... Hollywood wannabe Thai. Much better places not too far away
The ladies at the restaurant are so friendly and genuine like almost Isan [or Esaan] Thai we know.... We have been away and hadn't been there for months, but they remembered exactly what we like to order! They greet you right away, and rarely have to wait long for a meal. The ambience pleasant with unpretentious hand painted wall graphics, soft lighting and background music/video. Very clean and comfortable. Food fresh, healthy and excellent, favoring Isan style of cuisine. It is a smallish place so it can get noise with conversation at peak times as some of our local Hollywood neighbors don't have an indoor voice - especially after libating!
Friendly staff
Good thai joint, kind and fast, awesome price for lunch.
Good food good price runs like a small business owner
Wonderful, flavorful, freshly prepared food with great spices. Our favorites are Tom Kha soup and the spicy eggplant with pumpkin!!! Smiley and Ming excellent, attentive and personable severs. The lighting is perfect and the atmosphere is very Thai! We would highly recommend a visit!
Fun spot to eat some good Thai and people watch in West Hollywood
They left the poop in the shrimps and tasted awful. Worst Thai food in LA.. yuck!
Great Thai food
My go-to take-out spot. Toi next door is fine, definitely a cooler aesthetic overall... but this place is great all around.
- Pad Thai
- Pad Woon Sen
- Pad See Ew
It's all excellent.
Best Thai food I've ever had
Literally the only people in the restaurant and the food took at least 20 minutes to make.
Muy buena comida
Good food. Bright the hostess is great!
Decently priced thai food on a busy street. Tasted great too.
Good food and friendly service. This restaurant had some different flavors compared to the other Thai restaurants in the area so it was a nice change.
Coming off 7 months in Thailand, their food definitely lived up. Cons: no Leo beer (only Chang and Singha) and my curry didn't come with rice. Would definitely rather the price had been $2 higher and included rice. Overall, I would definitely return.
great service - great food - great location
The best Thai my husband and I have ever had. The get their spices perfect. We ordered the coconut soup, yellow curry and spicy mint & all were fantastic!
The best thai. I don't go anywhere else because I'm scared it won't be delicious. I have finally found my little spot.
What's not to like?
The food is good but the place not so good, takeaway is good idea.
First time I ever ordered from Sunset Thai and I ordered Tom Yum Chicken Noodle soup and the Spicy Mint Chicken. I have to say the best Tom Yum I ever had. i normally have to drive far away to get good Thai food or even delivery. They were fast , really nice on the phone and the food was awesome.
I actually ordered from my job because this place delivered and having been a fan of Thai for at least the last decade, this was the worst tasting Thai that I have ever had. Apparently, I am only one person feeling this way in the review line-up, however, I would have to assume all of the others are either settling or new to the Thai experience. Take your chances elsewhere if you are truly wanting an honest review. But your food will be there on time. $20.14 later.
Overdue review.
Must say been eating for many years great food.
98% delivery the rest eat in. Always been happy with my food and service.
