Organic, seasonal Thai street eats & bar food served in a funky, casual establishment.
This spot is tucked inside the bustling Grand Central Market in Downtown L.A. While it’s tough to choose from over 20 small ethnic food eateries under one roof, what instantly caught my attention was watching the chefs cook everything right in front of me. The open kitchen looked spotless, the food smelled amazing, and the sizzling grilled chicken sealed the deal.
The service was friendly, fast, and efficient, and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the Gai Yang, a flavorful Thai BBQ chicken served with a refreshing papaya salad, sticky rice, and a side of sweet-yet-spicy sauce that perfectly complemented the tender, smoky chicken.
The place was packed with locals on their lunch break, which is always a great sign that you’re in for something good.
Did I mentioned that it has an A in cleaning place?
Highly recommend!
This is a Thai food place in Grand Central Market in LA. They have a variety of food options that you can pick from. Things do sell out, so get what you want when you order. I waited until after my lunch to order mango sticky rice, and they sold out while I was eating. Overall, a solid place for Thai food.
* Gai Yang (Thai BBQ Chicken w/ Papaya Salad & Sticky Rice) 4/5 - Decent bbq chicken with a hint of a lemongrass flavor.
* Pad Kee Mao (Spicy Drunken Noodles) 4/5 - These were savory flat rice noodles with a spicy kick to them. You can add a protein to it (I chose beef and it was good). The dish also came with baby corns, mushrooms, beansprout, bell peppers, chinese broccoli, etc.
* Beef Panang (Braised Beef Curry) 4.5/5 - I was surprised seeing the container because it was 1/3 the size of the Yellow Chicken Curry. Maybe because beef is more expensive than chicken? But yeah, similar pricing for both, and the chicken curry was good, so I'd pick that over this if I knew. Other than that, the beef was very tender and the curry sauce was good. There was an interesting sweetness to it.
* Kaeng Karee (Yellow Chicken Curry) 4.5/5 - The chicken was very tender and the curry was good and flavorful. Bonus that it is triple the size of the beef curry for the same price.
* Vegetable Egg Rolls 5/5 - The egg rolls were crispy and tasty. I'm not a vegetable person, but I enjoyed them.
* Pad Krapow Gai 3.5/5 - This came with rice and ground chicken. It was decent, but there are better options on the menu.
* Crab Fried Rice 4/5 - Good fried rice with a lot of crab meat.
This review is based off of a Uber eats delivery and I believe it’s better in dining.
I ordered there. A chicken, pad see ew with chicken and shrimp, crab fried rice, pad Thai with chicken and shrimp and their Tom Kha soup with chicken.
The bbq chicken was good, the pad see ew was also pretty good, rhetorical pad Thai was solid, the crab fried rice was phenomenal and the soup was also pretty good. Overall the meal was very satisfying and delicious for my family and I.
I’d definitely try this spot again for delivery or in dining. Also great that it’s at Grand Central Station.
The food was really good and filling. I had Thai Hainese Chicken and my partner had the Moopoo dish that was really delicious. I loved the flavouring of the pork. The Hainese chicken seems pretty similar to the Chinese version but with normal rice, not chicken/ginger flavoured rice however the sauce and soup were very flavourful. Only downside I would say is that the cashier could be a bit more welcoming. We paid $35 for everything.
the food here is very good. i recommend the shrimp fried rice & the drunken noodles.

The guy who served me gave me the food and I asked him if he could give it to me in a bag because it was to go, he asked me if I had left a tip because I paid cash and I told him that I was paying for a service and my food and he then told me You put the food in the bag. Last time I visited the place, bad service. It is unacceptable. All my family used to buy here, no more.

Terrible Pad Thai. Dry, flavorless, and a clump of noodles. I try the Pad Thai of every new Thai place I try. And this was the worst.
Wonderful spot with great flavors stewing
I've only tried the Khao Soi....and it's awesome. Deep flavors all layered together and delivered in a bowl of goodness
Not a lot of places offering Khao Soi in LA...or America for that matter. Sticky Rice has a great rendition. Great noodles and pickled toppings....Chicken is tender and juicy.....And that broth is just so savory and tasty and profound with a whisper of sweet
Very nice staff cranking out order after order...always seems busy and they're always accommodating
Sehr sehr gutes Essen. Definitiv eine Empfehlung. Das Ambiente ist natürlich entsprechend der Markthalle. Viele vegetarische Gerichte.
First time eating here. Delicious & flavorful!
I ordered the “Gai Yang” and my favorite part about the plate was the papaya salad. Perfect flavor as a side to the chicken and rice.
Love the food here. Been coming here for a couple of years now. I look forward to eat and take food home for a few days on my days off at this place. Beef panang is my top favorite. Braised and slowly cooked as it should be. I also like the yellow curry chicken, Tom kha, Tiger steak and the mango sticky rice. Great people. Awesome customer service, from the manager,
So wahnsinnig lieb! Ich bin überwältigt!
Sehr zu empfehlen! Besten Dank
Great place, great food! Wonderful customer service. I had the green curry and it was delicious! Would gladly come back and would highly recommend.
Amazing food, the beef parang is so beefy and flavorful in a "nana cooked" meal sort of way. Very quick service and kind workers. Be sure to check them out at Grand Central Market!
Went today (9.3.2024) to get some food with a couple friends and one of my female friends noticed this guy constantly staring at her. It was a Hispanic male with a Black Shirt and Green Hat. He constantly look at her and then look away. At one point when we were all heading off he was checking her out again while she was walking away.
Food was good and we love the service. Yet it gets ruined when females get objectified by guys when they just wanna enjoy their meal. Hope he’s not working next time. KEEP AN EYE ON HIM.
Yummy pad see ew, but I ordered extra shrimp and they forgot it.
Why do they call themselves sticky rice when as a matter of fact they never had sticky rice?
Very kind and delicious 😋
I love the vibes of this place! Moom is super sweet and gave us amazing service!
I usually dont leave bad reviews but this one I felt the need. I read other reviews before I ordered chicken Pad thai. And I should've listened. It was indeed burnt. There was zero sweetness. It was just pan fried noodles with no taste. This was one of the worst noodles in my Asian life.
I understand sometimes with the closed lid the noodles become unappetizing and what not, but this one was beyond that. Wet brown noodles with dying carrots slices. Oh the lemon/lime thing was so gross, i couldnt tell if it was lemon or lime just by looking at it. It was lemon. I will stop here.
Would not recommend. Sorry.
Super leckeres Essen. Das Grüne Curry war der Hammer. Toll gewürzt. Der Nachtisch, Sticky Reis mit Mango - ein Gaumenschmaus. Jederzeit wieder
The waiter is extremely rude. I paid for a box of Mango sticky rice and 15second later another box tilted over. The waiter rudely asked me to pay for both. That is such a great move! I
One of my favorite spots at Grand Central Market. They make authentic Thai food, and I’ve been coming here for years to satisfy the craving. Their beef panang curry is unlike any other panang curry in this city! Don’t be fooled by the small container if you order to-go, it’s a very hearty amount and is super filling.
I love their Hainan chicken with rice, it may not be on their main menu that you can see above the cash register, but it is still offered. Their Hainan chicken is super clean tasting and they do the broth just right. I only wish they would make their rice in the same broth too 😊
Obviously their sticky rice is delicious and pairs well with their savory curries or as a dessert with mango.
Pad see ew chicken was so horribly fatty I could not consume it. It’s also tasteless. For $20, they are just capitalizing off of the naïveté of tourists.
The food was really good and filling. I had Thai Hainese Chicken and my partner had the Moopoo dish that was really delicious. I loved the flavouring of the pork. Pad see ew was flavorless

I ordered Moo ping ( bbq pork) it was amazing. The line was long. But the food was so good. I will go back for Moo ping.
Khao Soi noodle soup is amazing!
The food esa great and good portions
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sticky Rice in the Grand Central Market, and I can't stop raving about the incredible experience. The Crying Tiger Steak was a highlight that left my taste buds dancing with delight.
The thinly sliced steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. The accompanying Papaya salad added a refreshing touch, and the sticky rice complemented the dish exceptionally well. Each element on the plate showcased the chef's skill and dedication to creating authentic Thai comfort food.
The ambiance at Sticky Rice is vibrant and inviting, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a delicious meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and contributed to the overall positive experience.
If you're a fan of Thai cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, Sticky Rice is a must-visit. I highly recommend trying the Crying Tiger Steak – it's a culinary delight that will leave you wanting more.
Pineapple rice is AMAZING
Loved my drunken noodle dish. Large portions.
I'm going to miss this place. Visited this place during my brief stay in LA. Amazing food with good portion sizes and flavor. The wait time during dinner can be a bit long and best sellers tend to sell out. Tasty food to try and definitely recommend.
Had a quick bite and it was awesome. Generous portions, super flavourful. Pad See-ew is A+. Will be back in a heartbeat.
My recent visit to Sticky Rice left me in awe. The ambiance of the restaurant was a true homage to Thai culture. The soft lighting, traditional artwork, and soothing colors created a serene atmosphere. It was the perfect setting for an intimate dinner. Service was impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. They were well-versed in the menu, ensuring we made the best choices. Water glasses were always filled, and the courses arrived promptly, showcasing their efficiency. Now, the food – a symphony of flavors! The Panang Curry was a masterpiece, the Satay Chicken skewers were tender and perfectly grilled, and the Tom Kha Gai soup had a depth of flavor that was simply divine. The presentation was artistic, and each dish was a testament to the chef's skill. This restaurant is a hidden gem, and I can't wait to return. It's the ideal place to savor Thai cuisine in a tranquil and elegant setting.
I had the pleasure of dining at Sticky Rice restaurant and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The menu had a great variety of dishes, including some unique and lesser-known options that I had never tried before. I particularly enjoyed the Khao Soi and the Pad Kee Mao - both had amazing depth of flavor and were perfectly spiced. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with beautiful decor, making it a great spot for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Thai food experience.
The ambience was nice and the service was not bad.
Coming to the taste of food, the Thai bbq chicken set was above average and the value for money was not bad..
Some dishes may need a "push" to perfection but overall I would say the restaurant was above average.
Despite a small flaw, the restaurant is incredible.
Pad Thai available with tofu protein.
The Pad siew gave me the worst stomach ache I’ve ever had, and the rice on the mango sticky rice was hard and crunchy
Really subpar, but the good parts first ....
Got the Moo Ping, and the meat and papaya salad were both really well made.
The sticky rice was really sad though. It reminded me of rice I left on the counter for too long. Just real tough and dry. Wasn't getting the glutinous and sticky texture I was looking for.
This spot is ok, there are better stalls around the market.
Extremely overpriced for Thai food in LA. Watch out as none of the staple dishes comes with protein. So, the basic price of $18 for a dish ends up being $25 for a window service. It's ridiculous.
I love pad thai. They have pad thai but it tasted like it was cooked on pavement. Burnt egg, old meat, tasted like no oil was used so the noodles were dry and gross. I couldn’t even eat it. The person I was with got the Panang and that was good. Sticky rice and mango were good. Dont waste your $ on the pad thai. It was awful. Inedible.
8/3/23 around 3pm.
I drove all the way from OC just for Thai food and so excited. Here I’m at order line and very disappointed after ordered cashier guy so rude and unfriendly, first time here and probably the last. About the food is ok nothing wow and small portions and overpriced. Not worth it coming here.
Stumbled upon this place and gave the PAD THAI a try, food was great, however, the service is gotta catch up to the other joints operating around the market. I get it, it was a Saturday, maybe caught them on an off day. But I’ll be back to try something else and maybe be surprised by better service.
Edit: downgraded from 5 stars to 2. I went back to get that same dish and this was a miss. Chicken was grounded and not well seasoned. The authentic flavors were gone. The dish lacked depth. I don't know what happened, but this was disappointing all around.
Past review: we arrived there on a Saturday night and the staff wasn't busy with a lot of customers. The food was outstanding. I ordered the classic Thai basil chicken.
Most restaurants in the US, it would be dry but good. This one was outstanding. The chicken was flavorful and tender (sous vide?), the sauce tasted traditional, it had the right amount of spice and sweetness. Rice could have been slightly more dry, but it was better than most places. Because we arrived late, the staff had some chicken soup left over which was smooth and delightful.
That experience brought me back to Bangkok, and for one minute, I forgot I was in Los Angeles. Thank you ♥️
Food was pretty good - Spring roll was the stand-out (fresh and delish). Pad Thai was a bit spicy - as a non-spicy person didn't hit the mark - but for a person who loves heat prob. not even spicy.
The chicken pad thai and pineapple fried rice was delicious. The restaurant is super clean and customer service is great.
Expensive and not tasty at all
They use too much plastic and cannot care less about the waste.
Bad customer service
Food was great and nearly identical to what you get in Thailand non tourist areas. Khao Soi was great with lots of chicken. Place to sit and watch while it's cooked. The area is cool as there are a ton of other restaurants to choose from. Came on a holiday and it wasn't to busy or long of a wait.
Love this place in Grand Central Market. I always get the spicy basil fried rice with fried tofu or shrimp. It's so good!
The veggie fried rice here is absolutely amazing! Don’t pass it up.
Pad Kee Mow with Fried Tofu: it looks delicious, sadly that’s where it ends. This dish had no flavor, no spice, minimal heat. Many better drunken noodles exist outside of this place. I was so disappointed. The cabbage tasted spoiled too. Skip this joint, better dishes exist at grand central market.
Tom yum goong was perfect. The fried roce was delicious. The service was quick and good. Recommend it
Rude cashier!
I used to be a regular customer until the only guy cashier got my order wrong and wanted to charge me extra $3 for his own mistake. Avoid the guy cashier.
Got pad Thai to go and it was the most flavorless, and completely sauceless underwhelming meal. They also gave us a warm can of coke.
Fried rice bowl was super good, only con lady at the register was too stingy with the hot sauce gave me a look when I asked for another packet, other then that food was excellent
Wife and I got pad thai. It was bland, basically tasted like cooking oil. Would not reccomend.
I took the kiddos here 🧒👦👧 We had loved the music 🎵🎶🎵🎵🎵 🎩🧥It was very nice 👍👍 BUT I T H A D A B A D W O R D 👹👹👹👺👺👺😲😲😲😱😱I ran all the kiddos away 🏃🏃🏃💨💨💨 Then Grandpapai and Grandmami showed up!!! The workers chased us down the street 🏃💨💨 then Grandpapai and Grandmami started to use the karte lessons I gave them🥋🥋👴🧓😱😱😲😲 He hit the one on the left right on the head 🤯🤯🤯 and Grandmami started to give him an acupuncture right on the sidewalk 🤯🤯🤯 and failed💀💀💀 The food was yummy deliciousness scrumptious dalumtois rice but it wasn't sticky😱😱🤯🤯 This place I do recommend folks.
Ordered an omelette. It was just eggs and rice. There was no sauce and it was super dry. Wait time was very long. Not worth the wait nor value.
love this place!
great place! love it
Beef panang curry
Just noodles for 16$
Food here is so extensive!!
Mediocre fried rice at best. The Thai tea was good!
Very good pad Thai
Amazing food but takes a while compared to the other restaurants in the same building. I don't mind one bit, great food takes time and they make it on the spot. However, you're out with people, keep it in mind.
ordered crab fried rice but got shrimp fried rice instead…food was so below average as well. 90% plain fried rice with like 5 shrimp and 5 tomatoes… thats it. very bland.
As a Thai food enthusiast, this is the worst pad thai I’ve ever had. Overpriced for this quality of food. No price tags displayed for drinks and they charged me $3 for a Coke. Tax not even included yet. Well, for people going out for lunch, make some efforts to go somewhere further outside of DTLA to get some more decent Thai food for cheaper prices and way higher quality.
When eating my food I started to think this was worth the trip, but that changed later. First! I didn’t like how the lady by passed me to put up my ticket number and call #86 when I was directly in front of her. She would’ve saved more time and energy by simply handing me my order directly. The presentation and flavor of the food was good. However, THEIR food or Cooking;Gave me the Runs. Either she did something to my food because I was persistent in the way I wanted my order (but not in a rude way) . Y’all Can Have At It!!! I will never be back and I Suggest Highly You eat somewhere else instead of taking a chance to have (bubble guts&runs)👎🏾
Wasnt the best. I ordered the Padthai Noodles and it tasted kind of dry, bland too. I have had much better where you can see some sauce. Youre supposed to. The smell was nice though.
Tasted better if i reheated it hours later. Maybe the juices started moving again?
The portioning was good too. But still, for 15 dollars this was a let down.
Food, services, and quality was just amazing. Perfect for a first date, meeting friends, or dinning alone. Make sure you get a Thai iced tea!
Terrible
Meh. The sticky rice wasn’t fresh and the chicken was not that exciting. For $15 I should have gotten the fresh pasta and meatballs.
Located inside Grand Central Market near the middle section.
Probably one of the best stalls, therefore the busiest. The line is long but moves quickly and efficiently.
I ordered the Gai Yang - BBQ Chicken with Papaya Salad and Sticky Rice. I thought the chicken was a bit dry, under seasoned and not meaty at all. Papaya Salad was underwhelming. Portion size was on the stingy size considering the prize.
Maybe it's an off day, I'd go back again and order something else.
Walked the entire market and chose Sticky Rice. My friends went the el Salvadoran cuisine route. I went with the pineapple fried rice with chicken. I’m not a small human, and that filled me up. Very tasty. Aside from the amazing food options, the people watching in the market is quite entertaining!
Pad Thai is dry and tasteless. Noodles also taste like the leftover char for the grill. Don't order here.
Pad thai here is the worst pad thai i've ever had in my life. Not even cheap($14 +tax+tip) and taste nothing.
Nice flavors, I just wish it could be way more spicy. (It did say chicken spicy basil). But I really enjoyed it.
Tasty Thai shop in the market. Long lines during dinner, but took under 15 minutes to get food once ordered. Friendly staff.
On the bland side.
The food here is exceptional. Must visit for Thai in GCM. I recommend the Gai Yang
We tried the tofu pad Thai and the braised beef panang curry and both were very good. The beef curry was definitely the better of the two. The pad Thai was a HUGE portion and not too sweet but I would have preferred much less noodles and more of the other ingredients, it was honestly way too much for any one person to eat, so it felt very wasteful. Maybe get the pad Thai if you are very hungry!
Definitely not what it used to be when they were on the BLVD. Hoy Ka noodles- small portion and super sweet (Not much of the sweet and sour and spicy that Thai food is famous for). Also ordered the pad thai with tofu- the tofu tasted super off and was cold. I'll stick to my local spot.
their gai yang is AWESOME, slightly overpriced but the money anxiety disappears as soon as you get your food. the chicken is perfectly seasoned and charred and the rice is sticky and subtly flavored, i can never get enough. portions are sizeable but not overwhelming. heard great reviews from friends on the fried rice and especially on the green curry. i love bringing people here for the great food and the great atmosphere of the market
I thoroughly enjoyed the flat egg noodles; primarily flavored with soy sauce and something sweet, but the sweetness didn't overpower the overall dish. I ordered it with shrimp and I counted 6 of them, the portion wasn't very generous in comparison to other establishments with the same dish and price. But will be coming back because it was delicious.
Got the pad Thai and pad kee mokai . I eat Thai all the time and this is the blandest Thai food I’ve ever had. Sorry to say. Tastes like soy sauce and noodles mixed together, and even then not enough soy sauce. No spice or flavor. I even went back to ask them to remake it and it only kinda came out better. (First time ever returning food.) This is the second time I’ve been here, having forgot I had the same experience the first time. Tons of better options in the market. Avoid this one.
Bit disappointed after reading the reviews. Just picked up takeout. The pad thai was tasteless gooey noodles with bone dry tasteless chicken and tasteless shrimp. I’m glad the lemon was in there. The pineapple fried rice with shrimp had 4 pieces of pineapple I put them up top to show in the photo. Large portions but tasteless. I threw it away after this pic btw.
Very good authentic Thai food and one of my top fave spots at GCM. The drunken noodle has a delicious kick to it and the bbq chicken with papaya salad was very flavorful. My only wish is they had more vegetarian options and salad options such as larb or yum woon sen. Excellent, friendly service!
A little bit disappointed that they don’t have Mango Sticky Rice. Shouldn’t a Thai restaurant has it? Too bad!!!
Not what I expected, I didn't like there spices on the food, plus wait was long.
Very oily pad Thai
I've gotten food here a few times and it's always been good! It's ready pretty quickly and reasonably priced.
I most recently got the yellow chicken curry. It was like 70% chicken which is awesome because usually other restaurants will just put a bunch of potatoes as filler. The only problem I had was the chicken was in two huge pieces and very difficult to eat with a spoon and fork. I was kind of able to cut it with a knife from my husband's food but it was still tricky. Tasted great though and was a very large portion.
Food was good, but pricey for the small portions.
Not as good as used to. Khao soi has been watered down while price is still high. Normally, the broth would be thick and creamy with a nice yellow color.
Great food, but the phone doesn't work. Why???????
$17 for shrimp fried rice and there was only 5 shrimp in it. They didn’t have the mango sticky rice and that’s why I came to this location. Big disappointment.
Delivery was nicely packed. However, was not a fan of yellow chicken curry. The smell was not pleasing for me. Pad See Ew was 3/5. The pineapple chicken rice was decent.
Good Pad Thai with heat 🔥
Pad Thai wasn't good at all
Been coming here for years. Last time ever. Short male server (Lin) was extremely rude kept giving sarcastic attitude. Not only that he was spazzing out jumping, spinning around, his eyes were dilated. I asked him if i could my order for here and he said verbatim "no you cant but you can eat it on the bus, the train, the plane, your car wherever! but you cant dine in everything is to go stop trying to over think it" . I told him " whats wrong with you , are you okay? You seem very on edge". He responded with a high pitched " yes , yes im fine!" Even the other worker over heard she kept looking at him like whats wrong with him. I had to speak to her and tell her everything , he was definitely on drugs or on one, and she said theres been multiple complaints about Lin. You want your establishment associated with meth addicts at your location? Extremely unprofessional 👎👎
I don't go to DTLA often but if I'm out there... I know where to go for lunch. Their Khao Soi is sold. Friendly staff and reasonable prices . If you haven't already, check them out!
Pad Thai was very bad
Review for delivery only
We’ve ordered from Sticky Rice about three times and love it every single time. Highly recommend the khao soi, one of the best things on their menu but we’ve also ordered the laab, waterfall beef salad, pineapple fried rice and pad see ew and none of them disappointed. They take a lot of great care in their packaging. For example, the khao soi noodles and broth are packaged separately in the container. Highly recommend supporting this great business!
The food was great
Only to-go orders still, but packed well and quick friendly service.
I ended up trying the Khao Soi, which is a curry noodle Thai dish. It came in a to-go package that separated the curry soup from the noodles so that they wouldn't get overly soggy. The curry is on the sweeter side and is very creamy. Pretty indulgent, but delicious. The chicken had skin on it which I enjoyed, but I know that some people may not. The pickled toppings were a nice addition that cut through the creaminess of the curry.
Looking forward to trying out their other Thai dishes!
Muy bueno
Good food beautiful Asian women
Authentic and good Thai food! Was my first time at the market. After walking around a few times, decided to try Sticky Rice. The omelets over rice reminded me of the streets of Bangkok when I was young with street hawkers. Great flavor and hints of fish sauce. The papaya salad was fresh and refreshing with the lemongrass and coriander flavored skirt steak. Quick and fast service. The only complaint I had was I had to pay for parking! Otherwise no complaints at all.
I wish I could give them a 0 star. Pad Thai was greasy, lacked flavor overall not good at all!
This place does not read the instructions clearly. Very disappointing after waiting for the food. Couldnt eat it after i received. I wish I can give it half a star. The food isn't all that.
I didn't hate it..I didn't even get to try it!! Super bummed since I quickly walked almost a mile to attempt to get there before the listed closing time of 10pm..it is 9:05 and the security has already locked up. Just great... Where else shall I find 🥭 mango sticky rice at this hour?? It sounded sooo good. 👎😞
Love the Thai noodles! Must try this place.
OPEN FOR TAKEOUT, This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The yellow curry is excellent, with moist, delicious chicken. The padseeiw is excellent too.
Best thai food I ever had. 5*recommendation
I read a review that said this place had the best yellow curry they’ve ever had and so that’s what I ordered. It absolutely did not disappoint. My mom is a hardcore southeast Asian grandma (almost 80 years old) and used to make yellow curry just like this. I can’t believe I’ve found something that comes close to her cooking.
The best yellow chicken curry in all of LA. No other Thai restaurant comes close to the taste.
THAILAND 🇹🇭
Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:
For Grand Central Market, and those in need of quality Thai food downtown during their lunch break, Sticky Rice remains an invaluable option in a great setting. Its noodles and rice dishes are strong and fresh, if not the most perfect renditions in the city. But where the stall truly excels above all else is the beautiful plate of kao man gai ($12), the Thai take on Hainanese chicken.
Every component of this dish is done right. The rice is cooked in chicken fat stock and ginger, fatty but never greasy. The steamed chicken is juicy and fresh, almost as if you can taste these birds were happy. The chicken soup served on the side is no afterthought either, full of flavors and those tastes like you have back home.
What most lovers of Hainanese chicken will agree upon is that a good sauce can make or break the dish. The sauce here, made from fermented soy beans, ginger, and fresh red chili is one of the best ever sampled including many in Thailand. While the plate looks simple, the components each have to have great care taken in their creation, something that Sticky Rice achieves while most restaurants in the city have failed.
Великолепный пад тай, но ужасный том ям :(
Crab fried rice was great!
Sir delicious green curry! Lots of food, but $15
Taste normal, size small, location busy and loud, but could be a special experience for you.
