Modest, informal eatery with traditional decor & a classic menu of Thai curries, BBQ & stir-fries.
All around 5 star experience. Side note, I arrived just as they had opened so I don't know what it's like when the place is in full swing and filled with customers.
This is a cozy little place 😊 next to a laundromat. There are two entrances, the main one on Melrose and the other in the back where the parking lot is.
Takeout: I placed my order for takeout. Everything was packed wonderfully. Nothing spilled.
Food: The meatball soup was so soothing and delicious. The pad see ew 👩🍳💋 *chef's kiss*
Parking: There is a small parking lot that is shared with the laundromat.
Unpretentious legit Thai food. Straight up GOOD! Location and parking (street and back lot) are somewhat inconvenient but worth the unapologetic modest and delicious Thai fare!
A MUST order: gang pah - clear and super flavorful broth curry with bamboo, eggplant, and chili.
Fair prices: $$ out of $$$$
Didn’t have high expectations going in, tried it kinda skeptically, but wow—every dish slapped. The food was absolutely divine, and we were blown away with every bite. Seriously, everything we ordered hit the spot. Definitely coming back on my next visit to LA.
So so good. I got the pra kow with ground chicken, mild. Keep in mind that Thai mild is not actual on any scale mild. It was perfect, I liked the amount of basil. The Thai chilies in there were fire- literal fire on the tongue.
Also got the shrimp paste as an appetizer- I loved it. Wrapped in a thin layer of bean curd, great flavor. Shrimp and pork ground together with carrot and scallions, fried? No going wrong.
My mom got the Thai nasi lemak which is like a fermented shrimp paste rice with sweet Chinese sausage, soy sauce pork, slivers of green apple, and fried egg. She liked it and compared it to other places in Thai town that just do not do it as well as Prael.
Will be returning!
If you’re Thai and have been dying to eat the dishes you’ve been missing from home, they got it all here! From Yen Ta Fo to Rad Na Mhee Krob. And the best part is, they all taste pretty authentic! The staff were so friendly here and the food came out fast! Great price and value. I highly recommend this place!
As a Thai, this place is a legitimate Thai restaurant. Most of their dishes are mouth watering and authentic. My favorite was the Kuay Jab, Lard (don't let the spelling fool you) Na and Boat Noodles.
Parking is shared with the Laundromat, so it is a little horrible with potholes, but don't let it deter you from great food.

Decent
Very nice people work here
Absolutely incredible food
Prael makes delicious Thai Food. I recommend this restaurant. It has a clean, family atmosphere.

Will never get tired of this place. Food is always so good so delicious. I usually order for delivery but I went to eat there this past weekend. Was surprised to see that they changed the egg rolls. When I've ordered for delivery and they're 3 in the other I thibk and they're long. The sauce is delicious bit when I ate there, they were different. 5 small ones and the flavors of the sauce wasn't the same.
But everything is was just so good. Will keep ordering from here
Great family owned Thai restaurant. Food is always good, my favorite is the pad kaprow since they use fresh holy basil. Staff is friendly.
Absolutely never get tired of this place. The variety of the cuisine and menu is just delicious. Gordon Ramsey should visit and eat here.
One of the best original thai food places in East Hollywood, been coming here since 2005. I would recommend everything, their food is cooked with real thai ingredients and have stayed true to their recipes since then, love this place!
Had Seafood Tom Yum on a cold cloudy day. Excellent!
Best Thai food I've tried HANDS down. I love here so much. Workers are super sweet and friendly and the food here is so good. I've been coming here since I was a kid and the flavor hasn't changed.
wonderful thai - a must eat in LA
Small family-run Thai spot with dine-in, takeout, and free delivery within 3 miles. Generous portions for reasonable prices. Service is quick and attentive.
There is a small parking lot in the rear of the restaurant.

The chicken in orange is dry and the sauce is rubbish on a plate l, I has no taste at all, horrible taste.
don't order it
Love the food.
Really amazing.. never gave this place a chance because of its exterior BUT so glad I did. Its fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back!
Service was excellent! One of the workers was so happy when we came in and seated us promptly and checked in on us a good amount. The food was great: very flavorful. Great restaurant overall. Would recommend.
During LA visit found this local Thai restaurant with good quality food. We ordered yellow curry with tofu and basil fried rice. It is one of best Thai food I ever had. I hope they maintain the good quality and service to have more business.
I love this authentic Thai restaurant. I've been a customer for over 12 years. The location has a humble vibe. They always give service with a smile. The food is affordable, consistently good and made quickly. Plus they have The Best Pad Thai in LA.

High quality Thai food at a very reasonable price.

Very nice ambient, family oriented, wheelchair accessible. Food is fresh and delicious, met every special request that I had asked to remove politely without any issues.
Yummmi
They have a big problem with the salt!!
Great food and friendly staff.
Been coming here for years, since it was a little video store/thai restaurant
Great cooks !
Amazing food, very nice family-owned restaurant. Would recommend the Thai lemonade and teriyaki chicken!!
Great food as always, attentive staff. Always feel welcomed
Great food every time. Bit of a wait so it's a good idea to call ahead. But if you do wait it's totally worth it. Friendly staff, wife has a nut allergy and they quickly remade her food for her
The lady who took our order (who i believe is the owner) was very rude. She took our order wrong and when we told her that we received the wrong thing she tried to argue and say that we ordered that dish (beef jerkey), when in fact we didn't (we ordered a beef salad). We told her that it was fine about the salad that she could just cancel it. She rolled her eyes at us and said that she wouldn't charge us for the beef jerkey. From there on out her service was just terrible, she ignored us and didn't offer us water as we watched her offer the other tables water. She also never came back to ask if we needed anything. When we were done we asked for to-go boxes which she brought. We ordered tom yum soup and had some left so we asked if we could get more juice for the soup to go. She said it would be $5. We agreed. When the juice was ready and she came to charge us, we gave her the card and she asked if we had cash. We said we didn't and she literally got mad and threw the plastic thing the receipts come on at the register and started slamming things. We asked her what her issue was and why she was acting like that, she literally started screaming at us saying that they charge her to use the card and that we do that every time we come and then started mentioning that we dod order beef jerkey and just lied and that we're lucky she didn't charge us. We obviously started arguing back telling her that she should've let us know that ahead of time or she could've charged it with the rest of the order and that also we never ordered beef jerkey. It was literally a huge thing. I mean this lady was legit screaming at me and my sister for no reason at all. The lady was very unprofessional and childish and really aggressive. I also believe that she mightve had us mistaken for someone else as she kept saying "every time you come".... its unfortunate because they're food is really delicious but they're service is horrible and very unprofessional.
Rica la comida y bien fresca con mucho sabor
Good
Best boat noodle in L.A. but getting too expensive.
Combination soup is good. Pad thai too sweet!!
best thai food imo, absolutely love them. have been going there since i was a kid!they have great hospitality, all the waiters are super sweet to my family and i. seafood soup is amazing, pork jerky is yummy, and the fresh spring rolls are 😍😍😍
Authentic thai food and good customer service. The restaurant is located next to a laundromat, doesn't look like much from outside parking lot, but the food is well worth it. I knew the food would be good, because an employee was sitting at a table next to us, chopping up fresh vegetables and prepping a dish for himself. This place had a homely feel to it and the food was cooked with love and care. The thai tea was great, not that stuff that comes in a can with a bland taste.
Prael is always a pleaser. The flavors are rich and ingredients are authentic. I usually order $200-300 delivery for work meetings (like 15 + dishes) and it is always a pleaser. I am always being asked for the restaurants information and hear that they ordered for another event.
September 2021 - They have dine in available but we ordered takeout! Overall prices and portions are good and food is yummy 😋
Shrimp Pad Thai $11.95
Pineapple Fried Rice $11.50
Green Curry (Chicken, Mild spicy) $10.25
Delicious food and huge portions. The Thai tea is very good and pad Thai is deluctable!
Surely one of the best thai food within thai town!
Best in the west

One of my favorite Thai food places in LA , almost try everything on the menu from noodles, soups to the egg rolls you can't go wrong with anything on their menu.
Me encanta!!! Años de ir a comer con mi familia las personas muy amables 🥰
Very good food
Your Rad -Na and thai fresh spring roll make me feel like am sit in Thailand..thnx👍
Love the food and the staff are great quick service 👍 totally recommend the chow me in.
Muy buen servicio y comida es buena
Really good food. The seafood soup is the best. The service is amazing!
Food was good but my order got taken by someone with their headphones and loud music playing and they got my order wrong. After I corrected them they became rude and hostile and basically slammed my food on the far end of the table each time and I got a lot of dirty looks after.
they’ve decreased their portions and increased prices. their staff (young girl) has rude attitude towards customers.
their food isn’t that good either.
some of the best curry in la
Came back after two years. How I missed the food. Great food and service. A bit pricy but it is good.
Been here 3 times I believe, maybe 4. I enjoyed the food and the ambience of the place, and no complaints from my visits here so far.
This has been a place I really liked but the servers are very unhappy and rude, I am not sure what the problem is but they should address it as restaurant business is 9ne of the first business to close when the economy is bad, like this right moment. Happy workers are productive people and if they are not happy no matter what, replace them.
My husband and i have had many marvelous experiences here. The food is excellent and made with very good ingredients. They have a duck dish that is one of the best things i have ever eaten. Everything we have ever ordered here has exceeded our expectations. One of our all time favorite places to eat. Great menu, calm, quiet atmosphere. A place that lets its food speak for itself. Cant say enough good things about Prael.

As always the food was excellent
My family loves getting food from here... We usually order beef or chicken pad see ew, fried tofu and roasted red pork on rice... The service is also great if you eat in.
Cheap & delicious food but no parking is located in Melrose Ave
Delicious food
I go to Prael whenever l am in Hollywood. The food is good and the staffs were always friendly. They have authentic Thai food.
I've ordered deliver many times. Yesterday we got the absolute worst quality of food possible. Ill be calling today to complain as well as well as never ordering again.
Great service and delicious food!
Nice little restaurant in my neighborhood, and got lots of options. Only note that even the mild options might be a tad bit spicy for those that aren't into that sort of heat. Good thai eats.
Great service, prompt, courteous, professional. Food is also fabulous.
Great atmosphere. Very warm home cooked meal feeling. Prices are reasonable and they have a good variety of dishes to choose from. I recommend the coconut chicken soup and pad Thai or Pad see yu. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Bad costumes service
Delicious food and friendly staff. We ordered the seafood soup, crab meat fried rice, shrimp pad thai and glass noodle salad, everything was tasty, especially the fried rice, although the salad was a bit sour. Good price good portion.
Best Nam Khao Tod in town! Nice people; great food. Never disappointed.
