Fine dinning Thai restaurant
12/28/2024 - Pink Pepper in Los Angeles has been in business for 38 years at the same location and is an upscale Thai Food restaurant. The Short rib usually will be cooked for 30 hours prior to serving customers.
We all enjoyed the dining. The waiter and waitress are very friendly.
Today I went to Hollywood to check out the Chinese theater and the wax museum after I was done my cousin and I were very hungry so we yelped a Thai food place and stumbled across pink pepper. This was some of the best Thai food we've had in a long time everything was delicious and the sampler appetizer had a little bit of everything. We also pad Thai which was top notch and the mango sticky rice for dessert was unbelievable. The service was great.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Hollywood, and I highly recommend it! They offer all kinds of Thai dishes, and my favorites are the Pat Thai and Crying Tiger —they taste amazing! The staff is super friendly, and even if it’s your first time trying Thai food, they’ll make you feel welcome. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, don’t worry—they can adjust the spice level, so everyone can enjoy their meal here! And it's conveniently located in the heart of Hollywood!
Let’s begin with the appetizer-
A. Kan Tok Thai platter (3/10): variety of bbq chickn, chkn wings, egg rolls, coconut shrimp, wonton chips, and papaya salad $49. The only thing good was the coconut shrimp and papaya salad. Everything else was below average.
B. Main dish- Khao Soi Beef Short Rib(6/10): Good flavor BUT too much fat on the rib. And not enough noodles in the dish.
Service (7/0): Only one waitress and it was too much for her to handle all the customers.
Ambiance (5/10): decent interior. The bathroom however, is terrible. Tagging on the walls and mirror. Not good.
Parking: Via the alley next door to the restaurant on the right. You only get it validated if you spend $50 for dinner.
Honestly expected better for $100. Not worth it. I don’t recommend this place.
Been here many times because it's right next to the church I go to but always in a rush because they close from 3pm to 5pm so I haven't had a chance to review until today. It's a fairy big restaurant so it accommodates our church group and there's outdoor seating as well (enclosed)
I was in the area and my wife wanted some Thai food so here we are. We usually park on the street when we plan on eating here. There's free street parking next street over: Hollywood/Formosa Ave. Otherwise you can park in the garage next door: lunch: $40 or more you get 1 hr validation, $50 or more get free validation per one purchase and dinner: $50 or more get free parking validation per one purchase.
The pastor of our church knows the owners, young hard working couple. I love it when the husband's here because his fried rice is out of this world. We've also tried "Kaan Tok" Thai platter (totally worth it for bigger groups, chicken yellow curry (creamy and delicious), seafood salad - spicy and delicious, pad thai and soy sauce noodles - classic goodies but the icing on the cake is their Khao Soi Nue - the pastor and his wife goes to Thailand a lot for mission trips as they have ministry over there and they both agree this dish is legit and the best they've had here in the states hands down. I love how tender the beef is.
We'll be back again soon (after church service). Radiance International next door - Sunday service starts 11:15am and they validate for the service 10:30 to 2pm :)
Everything we tried was delicious
This is the BEST thai food in LA. Hands down. The service doesn’t matter. Whatever you order you will love, if you love Thai food. And great prices! EAT HERE

The khao soi is one of my favorite dishes in LA!
I ordered pad woon sen with chicken and shrimp. Literally gave me two pieces of shrimp even though I paid extra for more shrimp. Noodles were cold and not very tasty. Thai iced tea large seemed more filled with ice than the beverage. Definitely not worth it
Delish Thai food just off Hollywood Blvd and La Brea!! I’m so excited to have such tasty Thai food right in my backyard. The Panang Curry and Pad Thai with tofu were amazing and very generous portions. Looking forward to my next meal here!
Best thai food i ever had in a while. Everything we tried was delicious. Service was phenomenal. Highly recommend and definitely coming back again
Food was amazing.
The staff were very friendly.
Very nice and welcoming atmosphere
Excellent service, food is unique and fresh, dessert (fried banana and coconut ice cream) was delicious!! I love the outside patio, what a great location!!
Fantastic experience!: food quality and selection was fantastic, great service. Fun location -- not in the crush but close to it. Very nice dining room or could have sat on the patio. Wonderful place to go with a special friend! (Fab vegan options)
Amazing food so close to Hollywood Blvd great decor and ambience Adisa was our server she was amazing and super friendly. Would definitely come back to eat here.
Visiting from Australia, both the service and food were excellent !!
Highly recommend the curry dumplings and the Thai fried rice, all food was delicious though. Great value, easily the best Thai we have came across whilst travelling around USA.
Delicious Thai food and great service! Highly recommend Thai fried rice (shrimp). We were all very impressed - there was even a dairy free iced tea option !
Really good food!! I've been here 10 years ago and went back now, food I'd still delicious 😋
Best thai we’ve had possibly ever. And service was great too!

This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Hollywood. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had the Pink Pepper spring rolls which were very fresh and the peanut sauce is delicious. We also shared the Pineapple Paradise chicken curry and the Spicy Noodles with shrimp. We like our food to have a little kick and ordered it medium spice and it was perfect. Definitely will be back to try some of their other dishes that looked delicious as well.
It was decent but my husband ordered the short rib and it was almost entirely fat. We ordered food to go and they missed an item because the waitress doesn’t write your order down. Fried bananas are worth the calories.
They don’t know how must cock some food especially teriyaki.

cozy & friendly staff
Gonna order from them on the regular now!
The employees is so rude to the delivery driver . They make driver to confirm the order when order isn’t ready . He ask to use the restroom but then they gave an attitude about him not confirming the order. Btw I’m the under cover journalist and the service should’ve been nice to anybody who comes in out of the restaurant cause they also considered customer as well they can report this to a customer and they get bad fees back from customer
I’d passed this place several times without going in — I assumed it was another tourist trap off Hollywood Blvd. Boy was I wrong! The very door themselves let you know this place is authentic (they’re carved with traditional Thai art). I had the spicy steak salad, Tom yum shrimp soup, and crispy shrimp app. Each was flavorful, fresh, and delicious. Could eat that meal every day. Also, our servers were attentive and kind. Definitely coming back often
Amazing food !!! My second time back !
Amazing food and really friendly staff, 100% would go back
I’ve had some damn good Thai food before but my gosh imma tell you when I visit this area again I’m eating here again the pineapple paradise curry is top notch best curry I’ve ever had and the khao soi I bielive is what it’s called is outstanding as well definitely recommend eating here it is the best

T'es bonnes adresse! Très bonne cuisine maison
Delicious food! Excellent service! Clean place to eat.
TOTAL MESS! Tried calling like 10 times and no one picks up the phone. Ordering through their website took 10 minutes. $4 to add brown rice to your chicken and veggie plate. Slow. They only validate with $50 or more purchase (mine was $49, they would not validate for me!). DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

Bon resto thaïlandais avec service chaleureux.
Super rapport qualité prix !
Great food and tasty sublime flavors! I ordered the green curry which was excellent and my kids (which are way too selective...) ordered the crispy chicken rice bowls and they loved it.
Nice place great for visiting Hollywood area or going to before a movie premiere. Decent meal prices and large wine menu. Great ambiance and cultural decor.
Really good Thai food at an affordable price point. Portions are generous. 4 stars because there's always room for improvement.
Though the service was a bit slow, the food was very delicious.
Gode råvarer, hurtig betjening og rigtig fin pris.
Love this place!
The ambience is very calm and cool, not to mention the styling. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive.
I opted for the spicy chicken curry which was amazing. The rice was cooked just right and the chicken was nice and tender. Just enough spice to not make me cry haha.
Authentic Thai food is served! I love the rich flavor and pretty interior.
I had:
1. “Kaan tok” Thai platter - including papaya salad, coconut shrimp, Roti bread, egg roll, BBQ satay skewer, steamed wonton, crispy wonton skin with peanut dipping sauce
2. Khao soi with big ribs
3. Coconut shrimp
4. Thai milk tea
Great food, fast service, big portions and fair prices :)
Pink Pepper Thai left a lot to be desired, and it wasn't just about the food. The wings were a letdown—far from the crispy, flavorful bites I was hoping for. The papaya salad was okay, but their idea of "mild" packs a punch that could rival a habanero contest, so beware if you're not a fan of serious heat.
The atmosphere was almost as underwhelming as the meal. Both our server and the cook seemed like they would rather be anywhere else but there. No amount of smiling or friendliness on our part could crack their vibe of sheer indifference. It's tough to enjoy a meal when even the staff seems annoyed by your presence.
All in all, while the place was clean, the overall experience felt off. Not sure what the deal was, but it definitely wasn't the Thai food paradise I was hoping for.
Excellent Thai food Ordered delivery.
i love u pink pepper!!!!!
cute restaurant !
The food was really tasty! Really good portion sizes. The service was good too, our server was really nice!
We live nearby, and go by every other week or so for dinner or a snack. The staff is always super friendly, and accommodating to any dietary restrictions / substitutions. Food is tasty, with a wide array of options. Prices are very fair, especially for Hollywood in such a tourist-y area. Would absolutely recommend for anyone in Hollywood who wants a more local, not tourist trap spot that's still on the walk of fame.
Good food, but you have to wait a long time for your order! They have a very busy take out, so very slow on the restaurant side.
Restaurant conseillé. Excellent pad Thai. Le personnel est attentif et très aimable. Prix très raisonnable et décor agréable avec musique d’ambiance douce. Bref, tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un agréable moment !
Great spicy beef salad!
Take out but seems like a nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Girl cashier was very rude behaviour
Great food, Thai food generally never disappoints. I called in advance for a pickup order though and still ended up waiting quite a while (15-20 mins) after I arrived.
The location on Google maps is slightly off, but I found it in the end. I was glad I did! The fried rice with chicken was really good. I lived in Bangkok for a while and this food was basically as good as that. I noticed that the staff here are Thai, which at other Thai restaurants is often not the case. I only ordered take out, so I can't comment on the waiters, but service was fast, friendly and the food really good. So, I'd highly recommend it.
Wonderful Thai stir fry
Food was good but what really set them apart was the service. Super friendly staff.
Ordered several items. The spicy cashew and green curry were great. Could have done with a little more heat though.
Dog friendly patio.
everything toooooo sweeeeeet
Pink Pepper is among my top three favorite Thai places in Hollywood. Food, service and atmosphere never disappoint.
Not very tasty, parking horrible
Not a good experience
I'm so disappointed. I ordered from here late night earlier this week and everything was so delicious that I ordered during lunch time today and it was drastically disappointing!!! My food was cold, wontons mushy, crab rice undercooked and basically RAW! They did put my requested sauces. Even the chicken kabobs were pink and undercooked. They basically rushed my order out and it was delivered undercooked and cold. Postmates didn't allow me to contact or review a second time since I had already reviewed the 1st time I ordered. $79 down the drain. My stomach and heart hurts 💔
Really good and affordable
Delicious food and very friendly service.
I recommend!
The food was really good and there are some less expensive options on the menu. The staff is nice and are attentive. I will say it took an extraordinary amount of time for our dishes to come out and it was only us and one other couple in the whole place so not sure what the hold up was. But the decor is really nice.
Excellent rapport qualité prix
Curry délicieux
Great Thai food. Look no further!!
Great place, great food, friendly staff.
RACISTS ALERT!
We visited as a family of 4 with our parents & hated the treatment. We waited 40+ minutes, not even water was offered as a courtesy. I have requested 4 times to take the order, they just ignored by taking orders & serving the people that came after us. The lady’s behavior was very rude! Even when we were leaving, she wasn’t apologetic. She just gave the racist looks all the time. Just be prepared before going to the restaurant, you never know what you will be served!!
Pretty decent food at a reasonable price! With great ambiance, and Amazing service!
Really mediocre thai food. Skip this and go to thai town down the street or atleast luv2eat if you're not feeling like going far.
Très bon !
Very good food and customer service. We were not familiar with the tipping system in the US, and after making a mistake the waitress explained it very respectfully, and we were able to correct it. She was also beyond nice, smiling and helpful. Her boss sitting there had a negative vibe though.
LOVE this place. The food and service are fantastic!
I am not sure what's happened, if there's a new cook but I used to always get the pangang curry and it was the best thing ever. I just ordered it tonight and it's the most flavorless thing I've ever had. Def a sad day
The food was very tasty and portions were what one would expect. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu has a good selection of common Thai cuisine. I recommend stopping by to dine.
Really good Thai food and delicious crispy egg rolls. Usually Thai egg rolls can be soft and mushy, but these were really on point. Good pad Thai too.
Absolutely delicioso. I had green curry. The service was great.
Yummy Thai food that definitely made our Asian tummies very happy! The service was 10/10 as well (: we had great conversations with the friendly staff. Highly recommended if you’re around the area and want some Thai food.
Not memorable and most likely won't return. Service was nice and quick on a wed night. Ordered spicy shrimp fried rice and coco ice cream and sticky rice. $17 for normal portion of rice and $12 for one scoop of ice cream and one scoop of rice, a little pricey for the mid quality food and serving.
The food was amazing! Refreshing, generous portions, relaxing atmosphere, with excellent customer service.
I always wonder why NO ONE, and I do mean literally no one, is ever in this restaurant. Today, I understood why. The woman with a black ponytail is rude. I asked if I could substitute the white rice for fried rice, she rudely said, “No.” When I asked if I could pay extra she said, “No” again because apparently they “only make fried
rice for big servings.” I won’t even comment on how she greeted me as if I wasn’t welcome. So I walked out. I’ve eaten here once before & the food was good! The male server was also good. That’s why I’m always shocked when I see no one’s in the restaurant. But I get it now. Rudeness & treating people as if you don’t need their money will keep your restaurant empty.
Really solid Thai food but the service could be better. I highly recommend the Garlic chicken and Tom Yum.soup. Green curry was good as well. The Spicy fried rice was pretty flavorless but that was probably the only disappointment. If the service improved then I’d definitely say it’s a must try for the price.
Great food!!!
It's a little off the beaten track of the strip we ate there twice and both occasions were 5 star the staff are very friendly and know the menu so their advice on dishes was well received I highly recommend this restaurant
Great value and superb food
Nice cozy thai restaurant selling an interesting mix of Thai and asian food. We had the Tom Yam soup, the chicken satay, the thai salmon and the phad thai. The tom yam soup (chicken) was spiced at level 3/5 cos we won't sure how spicy it would be but it turns out quite mild and not spicy enough. The phad thai was well cooked but a tad too sweet. The highlight was the chicken satay (4 pieces) and Salmon, both were cooked to perfection. The service was great and price for 4 dishes + 2 jasmine rice was reasonably (total + tips) for 3 pax comes around to $90.
Very bad place
Really good food at an unbeatable price!!
Crab fried rice was everything. Well seasoned without being salty. The poor waitress was super kind and accommodating even though we were there until close. Didn't feel rushed even though she could have lol. I will definitely be back
Loved the food.
This was just the kind of place I was hoping to find in this crazy, touristy area. Went in at a non-peak dining hour and received friendly, fast service. I highly recommend the curry salmon. It was cooked absolutely perfectly, was a substantial portion and had a delicious sauce and accompanying nicely cooked vegetables. Pricing was totally fair. Will definitely go back.
Food is good but server is just one person so it was delayed!
My friend and I had the panang curry. I got the one with shrimp and he got the one with chicken soup. Their curry is sooo darn good and flavorful! If I wasn’t going to an event after dinner, I would’ve taken my leftover curry home! My friend got the wonton soup and he enjoyed it.
This restaurant is perfectly situated if you’re going to the Roosevelt Hotel or walking around Hollywood.
Great service as well!
I wish I would have taken photos because the food was absolutely divine. I thought I’d have left overs but it was so fresh and healthy I didn’t even feel guilty. Had a glass of Pinot noir, the pineapple curry (AMAZING) and the Pink Pepper Rolls. All vegetarian and delicious to the point you wanna roll your eyes back into your head. I’ll be back to take pics of the food before literally devouring it - ASAP! Staff super friendly too :) thank you guys.
Good food
If you’re looking for great Thai food and wonderful service, this is the place. We had the Pad Thai and Lamb Curry…both excellent choices. I highly recommend Pink pepper.
The water was too cold
Food was ok.. Nothing fancy.... The restaurant is nice and I love the design... Waiter was great...
So…I usually eat here at least once a week, sometimes I pay with my card and sometimes with cash. Today will be my last day eating here after hesitation of taking an old $20 bill due to suspicion of it being fraudulent. Just because the bill was redesigned in 1998 doesn’t mean the ones prior are obsolete. I googled how to check the legitimacy of the bill and suggested she have a marker to check bills if it is a concern. After getting validation from coworkers in the kitchen, she finally rang up my order with NO apology whatsoever. Food is very expensive these days and I can spend my money elsewhere without getting accused of being a counterfeiter and subpar customer service.
From the outside this looks like every other little Thai restaurant in this part of town. But inside, it is quite different. A very spare, modern, bright and clean décor.
And while the menu has a lot of the usual suspects, the execution is a cut above. There is a notable freshness to the ingredients, and the presentation is often like something from a more modern high end restaurant. "Bright and clean " also describes the flavors.
Really deserves the description, "hidden gem".
Amazing food, quiet and fast! Will 100% be back!
A little gem right by the Walk of Fame 🥰 We ordered the Pineapple Paradise, Pad Woon Send, Chow Mein, Chicken Noodles with Shrimp and Thai Dumplings. Amazing food with great service!
Yummy Thai food within walking distance of the central Hollywood tourist area and theatres.
Delicious green papaya salad, able to accommodate my request for no fish sauce.
Nice outdoor seating with awning and half wall for some privacy and protection from the elements, while still getting fresh air
I'm always on the hunt for great Thai food, and I can't even begin to tell you how authentic & delicious their food was! I will always recommend anyone to stop by and give them a try!
Friendly, outside patio and serve Singha bottles. Also chicken satay was tasty.
Cuisine fraîche, légère, avec beaucoup de goût. Sans être trop épicée.
Accueil courtois et service rapide.
Prix très raisonnable.
Je reviendrai
I did get delivery. Thankfully the food was still nice and hot.
Overall I feel like everything lacked the specialness of Thai cuisine.
I really do think it's because nearly every restaurant is catering to the palette of Americans. What can you do?
I don't think the Tom Yum Gai used fresh lemongrass and the tub contained over 2/3 rds of broth, not much meat or mushrooms.
Pad Thai Noodles. My taste buds must be off as others really liked this dish and happily dug in.
Anyway I won't keep going. I hope they do well.
Delicious! The spring rolls were super fresh and yummy. Loved the Thai fried rice with tofu and the pad Thai. Ate here twice in our 6 day vacation. Yum!
Not recommended at all uber eats said it was done and was given attitude to wait very disrespectful
Rudest staff ever. the owner of the restaurant is a very angry person and all the staff is rude I just asked to add cabbage to my dish and the restaurant worker started to be rude to me. I went to this place for 4 years in a row and they were constantly rude I was silent but now I have to write about it
They have good food and are always so friendly!
Great food!
luv
The food is great very delicious love this place. Close to my house.
My wife and I stopped here for lunch while touring Hollywood. We eat a lot of Thai food, but this place was exceptional. I little place, but packs great flavors. Stop in next time you are in Hollywood!
Returned after a 3 year absence and food and service were excellent and prices are reasonable considering the present state of life.
Great Thai food restaurant
1. Atmospheric interior, authentic.
2. The staff is excellent - they know the menu, do not impose their preferences when choosing dishes, but they talk about the dishes clearly and understandably.
3. The food is delicious, good portions, varied menu. Dessert was a great end to dinner - not cloying, tasty, easy.
4. Dishes were brought quickly enough, all together.
Food is so delicious. Highly recommend!
They have amazing chicken dumplings, so soft and smooth, I order them all the time. Great curries too! Highly recommend.
Fantastic
INCREDIBLE place!! The curry lamb is amazing, please order the pineapple rice with it, it's truly incredible!!! The wines are great as well - we order a bottle of Pinot noir (HonNob) and the mango sticky rice is the best!!!! Super relax ambiance, great music, outstanding service. Parking in the back!
Loved my Panang Curry with chicken and extra veggies! They're very sweet and patient, as we hung out and talked for nearly 4 hours and they brought us water refills long after we had paid and should've left. It wasn't terribly busy, so I imagine if they had needed the table maybe they would've dropped some hints. :-)
I've probably tried 20 different thai restaraunts in LA in search of the perfect pineapple fried rice. This place takes the cake. I haven't tried anything else on their menu but if it's anything like the pineapple fried rice it's going to be top tier. Highly recommend.
Simply my favorite Thai Restaurant in Hollywood! Everything is delicious!!!
The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, very RUDE folks, u keep asking them questions and they keep ignoring you. They take for ever to have your food ready, i wonder how they have survived so far, the price is an extortion for a low quality food. I do NOT recommend
Why have a dish called spicy noodle if nots gonna be spicy? Why have the option to order it “Thai spicy “ out of 4 heat levels if it’s not gonna be spicy? The most mild bland Thai food I’ve ever had. Small portion too.
The very worst service we have seen in a long time. There was only 1 person to take orders, serve, attend the phone and handle takeout orders. Naturally everything was delayed and some items in our order were missed. On top of that they didn't have enough cutlery for our table! Not enough mugs, soup spoons or table mats. Despite that in the end the place also charged an 18% service fee despite such poor service.
Food wise vegetarian options available.
- Chowmein noodles were pretty bland but became ok after adding some soy sauce and chilli paste.
- Ragna noodles were good and I'd recommend. Portion sizes were decent considering the price.
- Tom kha soup was tasty but delivered at room temperature
- tofu starter was quite sweet but nicely crispy
- nigiri sake was a good accompaniment
Overall a poor experience.
Soup was OK however no utensils, no soy, no napkins.
Food poisoning
Tasty but expensive
Terrible service !!! Hostess cheeky and very rude !!!!
Very nice food and great quality friendly service
Ummhmmmm.......I heard great review from a neighbour of mine so I went to try the food. But in my food the tofu was soggy and there was plain rice and noodles taste. Won't Recommend.
Such delicious food
huge fan of their singapore noodles & warm sake!
