Serving authentic Thai food since 1994.
I loved eating there! Roast duck curry was superb, I could really taste the curry leaves, basil, bamboo shoots, the duck was tender! The store atmosphere is chill and homey, no server hovering over you but service is fast if you just wave them down. Rice is additional $2 but everything else is very reasonably priced, 120% recommend!!
I just got back from Thailand and this place is just as good as the real thing. The pad thai is on the sweeter side but the texture is excellent. The khao soi is also delicious and definitely worth a try if you've never had it before. My friend tried it here for the first time and loved it. The service is great, the prices are unbearable ($2 for Thai tea, $10-$11/entree) and the environment is calm and easy. I went on a Friday at 7:30 and had no problem getting a seat. Highly recommend!
This place is great!! The food is always delicious (Ive had the fried rice and pad thai, and friends have had and loved the yellow curry and kao moo deng) and the prices are very good. Our to go Thai place!
OMG! I have no words to discribe such a delicious and affordable Thai restaurant, oh god.
This place is great!! The food is always delicious (Ive had the fried rice and pad thai, and friends have had and loved the yellow curry and kao moo deng) and the prices are very good. Our to go Thai place!
Wow, this had to be the worst lunch ever! I just love it when my green beans in Pad Prik Khing are yellowish-brown (sarcasm). Quick, use the old stuff before the real customers come in for dinner! I ordered three dishes, and all of them were terrible. I usually stick to the tried-and-true, but today I decided to try someplace different—and I was wrong.
I think most of these reviews are fake.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Hollywood
One of the best Thai restaurants around and the prices are very affordable.
Excellent service thank you very much
Always a treat
Fish maw soup. A must.
Each time we visit this place, we always try to order a different dish, and their fish maw soup is just as fantastic as the soup we ate when traveling in Thailand.
Of course we ordered our usual khao soi noodle soup. The curry is light, maybe a bit on the sweet side for some folks, but it's the best in Thai Town.
We didn't take any photos because we couldn't wait to devour our food!
We also tried the young jackfruit salad. It wasn't what we expected in a salad. It's mushy and sour, more like a dipping paste to eat with rice and fresh vegetables. We'll be back to try their other dishes.
I had the Pad kra pao with pork and shrimp fried rice and it was amazing. The guy who helped me was great as well, great atmosphere. Try it! You won't be disappointed. The best Thai food in Los Angeles😋🥰
Food(Meat) quantity is so stingy for what you pay and everything is as salty
Favorite restaurant in Thai town. So many unique dishes you won't find on other menus. Loved the Kanam Jeen Nam Ngiao, a plate of rice noodles with orange tangy curry, pickled veg, fish cake, and Thai basil. The Khao Soi is very good and different from most Thai places- more fragrant and fruity. Also love the Northern Sausage and PFC (Pailin Fried Chicken). The prices are super reasonable and the owner is really nice.
Great pad Thai and egg rolls. The portions are big so take that into consideration but the flavour is amazing! Takes me back to my time in Thailand
Honestly, we rarely have Thai and this place,
being close to home, has been our go to spot that's never disappointed. My boyfriend placed our takeout order online tonight, Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork and Sweet and Sour Vegetables (with beef), both very delicious. When he arrived to pickup they kindly asked if he had made an error and were prepared to make the adjustment! What a relief to discover that extraordinary service is still alive in small businesses that care about complete dining experience 💕
This place slays. Unbelievable food and such good service and the booths are so comfy. 5/5 stars.
We four people ordered Tom yum soup with shrimp, Pat Thai, yellow curry, and Khao soi. We had everything medium spicy, and it’s not spicy at all 😂. The food is very creamy and I like coconut milk a lot.
Very nice cuisine 👍👍👍
Delicious Thai food.
Best khao soi in LA, but everything else is delicious too
I’ve had my fair share of pad thai- this was okay. Service was great & atmosphere was very comfy.
The best curry I’ve had in a long time
I just got back from Thailand and this place is just as good as the real thing. The pad thai is on the sweeter side but the texture is excellent. The khao soi is also delicious and definitely worth a try if you've never had it before. My friend tried it here for the first time and loved it. Delicious Thai ! Typical Thai food (and food only, no sweets) for a very sweet price !!
Sehr leckere und authentische Thai-Küche. Der Preis ist sehr günstig wenn man andere Lokalitäten in der Gegend kennt. Das Restaurant ist zwar klein aber sehr gemütlich und bietet eine private Atmosphäre.
Great food, good service.
Small Thai restaurant, very affordable but disappointing. Their fish cake is extremely salty, other dishes are below average as well. A $2 Thai Iced Tea might be the best deal in town though
Food were fairly good except for the tong yam kung, given the reasonable prices and proximity to walk of fame, I found it's ok
Cheap, tasty Thai food, served incredibly quickly by friendly staff.
Amazing food at amazing prices
Nice and tasty little Thai restaurant
Food was okay, could be better
Lovely authentic Thai restaurant with reasonable prices! Came for lunch and enjoyed the kao soi - excellent dish. The owner was so friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.
The Khao Soi is really good. They have a lot of northern dishes that I will definitely come back to try!
Place has an older decor but clean, comfortable and nice.
Amazing food in a very comfy small space with great service. Also, you can’t beat the prices. Make sure to tip your waiter will very well.
good for some body like original thai
Unbelievable good price,. Food I Unexpectedly high quality. Very hospitality. A place for family gathering and friends to hang out
Super leckeres Pad Thai!
The Woodward's spent all our Birthdays at Pailin's We couldn't wait from someone to have a birthday, so we could go, lol. It's a Family owned Restaurant, and we have known the Family since the kids were little and always show respect to Mama cooking in the kitchen. Bless the Family Love and Joy
Nice cozy place.
$$
Mega gutes und leckeres Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen
Excellent food and decent prices.
Cozy place with delicious food and lovely and friendly services. 💕 10 out of 10.
This place is a hidden gem. Their food is some of the best I've had. Every time I'm in town I make it a point to grab some takeout. Their yellow curry is exceptional!
Very good food, they don’t pick up the phone half of the time though
One of the best Thai food I ever had. Will come back
Great northern Thai food. Amazing khao soi.
Love it. Just fantastic.
food always consistently good, service fast and friendly, every item has trying is been delicious
Real authentic thai food. Been going to this restaurant for 2 decades. Love all their food. Fish cakes, seafood in coconut soup and thai tea. It's the best
The best thai food 🥘 must try the seafood soup
I loved eating there! Roast duck curry was superb, I could really taste the curry leaves, basil, bamboo shoots, the duck was tender! The store atmosphere is chill and homey, no server hovering over you but service is fast if you just wave them down. Rice is additional $2 but everything else is very reasonably priced, 120% recommend!!
Very good, authentic Thai food. Affordable and good portions. Owner is a cool guy!
Authentic little thai restaurant. Food was delicious and portion size was very generous. Owner is super nice. Very affordable, good food!
I am so grateful that this spot exists!! Incredible food, unbelievable prices! Definitely check it out if you haven’t before. Be prepared to wait though, as food does take a little while!
Just took some time to come out of the kitchen though, but the food was delicious.
The quintessential stop for home-style Thai food. A hole in a wall restaurant with pop running the front of the house and mom in charge of BOH, so be patient when you come eat here, parking can be difficult. They be more then happy to adjust the spiciness level.
The best yellow curry I ever had. Pad Thai was also very good.
Efficient service, quality food. Yum.
Cheap and delicious, quality thai food
De los mejores pad thai que he comido, yellow curry también espectacular
Hate to say anything negative being a small biz owner myself, but the food here was not very good. I’ve made Shrimp Tom Yum myself many times and what they served doesn’t even qualify.
4.5 stars average are you kidding me? I just had thai food here in March 2022 and my goodness it was disgusting. I do have high thai food standards and I don't expect much when a place has $10 entrees, but the thai food here was simply inedible.
I got two entrees, tom kha soup and pineapple fried rice. Tom kha is supposed to be hot and sour soup, there's coconut milk in it, so its supposed to be savory. This tom kha was so sour, it was not savory at all, it's almost like you couldn't taste any of the coconut milk in it. The ingredients this place uses are SO CHEAP. There was chicken in the soup, and the chicken was extra chewy, tasted old, tasted awful the chicken.
I'm almost certain they used pineapple out of a can to put in the fried rice. Look at my photo, the ingredients look liked canned food! If i wanted canned food I could go to the grocery store.
I would not order the anything with chicken here, it is sketchy the chicken they use. With all the good thai food in LA, this place is very very disappointing,
Sweet little family run thai joint with charm
My family and I have been coming to Pailin Thai Cuisine for many years! Their food is very delicious. You must try their shrimp cakes with peanut sauce or sweet and sour and their Tom Yum Shrimp soup a must try as well! Definitely keep coming back for more! I recommend you to visit this place.
Used to be 5 stars. Now it’s more like 3 stars. Quality went downhill as prices went up. We used to visit weekly now we visit every few months.
Great food and great service for a very fair price.
Amazing khao soi !! The owner let us know that the wait for food (dine in) would take about an hour bc there were a lot of online/delivery orders ahead of us. It was worth the wait. Will definitely come back soon
This is the one you are looking for!
Right price — taste is amazing — & they take card!
I was really looking forward to eating here based on all the positive reviews. However it didn’t meet all the hype. We ordered the duck curry, which was just average. The catfish curry was decent, however the papaya salad with salted crab was extremely salty, so salty it was hard to eat the dish
Great food and reasonable price. The place is cozy and clean, with good taste of Thai decoration on the wall. I really love the green curry here! They use fresh baby bamboo root and fresh green beans which are easy to eat and full of flavor! The roasted duck curry is more fleshy and also taste good. The Tom Yum here is a MUST and they converted it into an art!! See the flame and Wow!
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had
My food, a rice and curry, was good. My friend's food wasn't- spicy shrimp salad
Great food, super cheap. We shared a bunch of good for such a cheap price. Comes out pretty quickly too.
First time here but have eaten at many other Thai restaurants and this place is already my favorite. Ordered the Pad thai which was delicious but the Khao soi was the absolute best I've had ( a must try of you come here) arrive early, last call for food is 8:30pm, they close at 9pm and when I was there ppl were not allowed to sit and dine in after 7:50pm
Happy to be back at Pailin and enjoy their delicious food 😋
This is *STILL* my favorite Thai place after trying dozens. Panang Curry can't be beat, but order anything and you'll love it.
I ORDERED LUNCH FOR 12 PEOPLE AT 2:30 KNOWING THAT5 THIS PLACE CLOSED AT 3, THE WEBSITE ALLOWED IT! I was given. a 30 - 60 min window for delivery. An hour later I called to ask when it would arrive and was told that my order would be delivered at 5:30 because they are closed for a break... I understand the need for break but if there is a cut off time I shouldn't allow people to place orders after their cut off... my crew ended up with subway, not the lunch they expected. the worst thing is the man was incredibly rude... That was a $168 sale he lost and he has lost my business....
Very tasty food. Small cozy place with 7 tables. It's OK to bring your own drinks. Huge menu and big variety with very reasonable prices. Try it, you'll like it.
Absolutely delicious, and apparently very authentic according to my Thai friends.
Kao Soi is the dish I didn't know I needed. I love Tom Kha, except that past the broth the ingredients tend to be a little insipid, and the meat almost always overcooked. Kao Soi is essentially a Tom Kha noodle soup, with a crunchy fried noodle, a flat soup noodle, red and green onion, and a healthy quantity of cilantro. The chicken was beautifully tender, and the whole dish a wonderful combination of flavors and textures.
I'll be back.
solid Khao Soi. the broth was a little weak on flavor for me personally. the thai iced tea was cool too. my favorite part about this place were the people in it! warm and funny, which is hard in such a trying time
My favorite Thai restaurant in LA. Super good food. Great prices.
definitely one of the BEST thai food in LA! authentic taste, doesn’t compromise on your boring tastebuds. We love their crispy catfish, pad thai and papaya salad! Kept on coming back, will definitely try their other dishes! (plus their drinks are cheap too! for just $1.75 you can get an authentic thai iced tea or longgan juice) WOW 🤤
The best thaï expérience ever even if tinny place !
Think Thai ( North of BKK ) think Pailin Thai Cuisine ..Garuntee Am Thai ..👍
Great food. Great prices. Nicest owners.
Probably my favorite spot in the city. The prices are incredible and so is the food. You can’t go wrong.
Love the khao soi
Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Been to many places in LA and this one definitely stood out. Amazing prices, quality, and authentic food. You should definitely check it out.
Great Thai foods
Khao soi is 👍👍
Tasty foods.Be careful, their delicious fried tofu is really hot 😁. Don't burn your lips and tongue.
The place is a small, cozy and warm (ambience) place. It has 7 tables (as far as I remember). Each can take for, except one in the corner.
Parking is an issue (5-7pm Sat). Street parking for 1 hour before 8pm (Sunday is free). You can find a spot but you should look for it. It seems after 7 you have higher chance.
Overall, it's nice. Foods are good. Smell good and taste is like homemade foods. Simple and deep.
Price is fair.
Cozy and delicious. Had the shrimp pad Thai and was not disappointed. Hot and flavorful. Serving size was fair. Wouldn’t know it’s there unless you already knew. Service was also very fast despite most of the tables being full.
Got the khao soi, pad see ew with pork, and soft shell crab curry. The soft shell crab curry was the best. The khao soi was pretty good though a little spicy. I liked the pad see ew too (more vinegar-y than other ones I've had).
Famous kao soi!
Good eats
I have no idea what is in the Larb Tod, but it's amazing.
There are some Thai restaurants that i love and Pailin is one of them. The food is delicious and I come often to eat their tasty noodle soup and other dishes. 5 stars.
Great tasting food!
My favorite Thai place in LA hands down
Always delicious
This is THEE BEST best Thai restaurant in in Los Angeles.. Hands down the best. Family owned and run.. Got the dad up front handling the business part and the mom and aunts in the back cooking and trust me they can cook. Theres nothing on their menu that isnt worth eating.. I hope they never ever go away..
very good food and nice service!
No-frills, good food.
Parking: It's Hollywood. I think I found an okay spot nearby, south of Hollywood Blvd.
Service: Nothing memorable, but I say that as a term of flattery. Sometimes when you don't notice the service, that's good service. Such is the case here.
Food: I got my go-to, the pad see ew, baby! It was good, especially for the price, which is pretty far below the average. It did the trick and more, but it wasn't mind-blowing. But much like the service, it doesn't need to be mind-blowing.
Ambiance: No-frills. It's not pretty but it's not ugly. I know the middle-of-the-road mentality of this review might make Pailin Thai seem, well, middle-of-the-road, but if you wanted fancy $15 Thai food, you'd know to go elsewhere, wouldn't you? I came here to have an inexpensive lunch, so the decor only matches that inexpensiveness.
Overall: I'd go back here again if i'm in the area and hankering for that sweet, savory pad see ew. Ooh baby!
Recommend? Yes
Family run place. Reasonable prices, cooking consistent. Ingredients have gone cheaper with prices rising some.
Kn.
Dont come
I always judge a Thai restaurant by their pad thai... and this place passes the test! It was slightly on the sweeter end, but I’m not complaining. I finished the whole plate unknowingly. Pad kee mao had a nice slightly charred flavor to it. The breath of the wok, I guess as they say. And both for sub $10 prices! That’s unbelievable to me.
Consistently excellent every time for 30 years!!
Really good food and great price!
Nice place and good test
We were visiting for the weekend and ordered delivery. The food was good. The portions were a good size. They forgot one of our dishes and when we called to let them know they had closed. They got someone in the kitchen to whip one up and delivered it very quickly!
Excellent food and attentive service.
