The fish tasted stale and the tamago egg had an odd flavor. I figured it was some different way of preparation till an hour later when I was racing to the bathroom with food poisoning. Never again.

Great customer service. Menu prices have not been updated on the paper menu. Unfortunately my chicken and salmon were dry. The Thai tea tastes great and the tempura was delicious.

It’s a super cute place. I like all the booth space and the bar. Me and my friend came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Not too crowded. Easily got a table. I got the miso soup, a Philly roll and a tuna avocado roll. It was all delicious!

The best local spot around. My family and I love finding local spots to cater to our random Thai cravings. Baiplu definitely went above and beyond our expectations. We ordered the crab rangoon, pad thai, pad see ew and the coconut soup (the usual classics) and each dish was a winner. You can tell a lot about a restaurant when you try their classic dishes . My favorite was the pad see ew. It had the right amount of sweetness and I liked that they were very generous with the tofu. I also thought the service was very good and we never had to wave a server down. Overall, I think this is a great spot restaurant that I will put into my restaurant rotation. Next time, I will try their sushi and update my review when I have done so!

One of my favorite spots to get sushi and Thai food! The orange chicken is sweet and crispy. Got a Sapporo beer and some spicy garlic edamame as an appetizer to start. Had a tiger roll which is a baked salmon roll. Overall enjoyed the service came in close to last call and they still attended us!

Aki Sushi &Bai Plu Thai Restaurant is pretty darn good. Their California Rolls are a must. Service is great and food is tasty. Their Tofu Salad is simply scrumptious with the peanut sauce.😋

Good friends to take a sit at the sushi bar nice and fresh fish

ordered to go, spicy coconut soup was delicious, but the pad Thai was very mushy, not flavourful, and they lemon they put inside was old.

Idk weird service today, will come again. But I didn’t feel comfortable with customer service today at the restaurant. Waiters was acting disinterested and disorganized, I’m usually a normal tipper but today left a dollar tip because it reflected the service.
Two new waiters I’ve never seen before, gave me a hard time about the free refill of the seafood soup broth. (Not protein, just soup) been coming here 6 plus years first time I’ve heard of additional cost of soup broth. Asked if I they could give me free broth in exchange for a 5 dollar tip. Waiter looked at me puzzled. Said no. I asked for the bill, she spoke to another waiter pointed at my table, which then another waiter delivered my tab. Then when the card reader came to the tip option, I pressed a dollar. Guy coughs and said, you said you’d give my friend five dollars, or the minimum of 20%👀 explained the situation. Brushes me off turns his back on me talks to the next table besides us and doesn’t move when I asked him nicely I wanted to leave and him to move out the way of the booth. Latterly doesn’t more for 45 seconds, I touch his back and say excuse me. Still doesn’t move. I stand up and he still doesn’t move. Idk the whole situation felt off and I wanted to write about it… most recent post talk about having rats? Idk about that didn’t see any but the waiters be acting like rats tho🐀

Love this place! Their bento boxes are really good and their sushi is great too. Prices are not bad at all and it’s cozy inside.

We went last night for dinner and had an extremely disturbing experience. While we were seated and had just placed our order, a rat ran right under our table and through our feet! We’ve been coming here for many years, but this was shocking.

We immediately canceled our order within minutes of seeing the rat and informed the waiter. To our surprise, instead of addressing the situation seriously, the waiter told us to keep quiet. Needless to say, we walked out right after that.

This incident has been reported to the city for health and safety concerns.

Food is delicious! Service not so much. Have a lot of patience. They sit you and have you wait 30 min+ with no one offering drinks. It has never had a full house when we have been there and still service is slow.Once you do order the food comes out quick.
Update : Kids request and fave thai food. This time around food and service where great! The guy that was serving has a good vibe and that transmitted onto his customer service. 👌

Fried rice was dry

Stumbled upon this gem in long beach now its our go-to for sushi. We eat at the sushi bar cause we love to watch them make the food and the tv is right there also. Such an amazing experience everytime. It think the guy that we always stay close to his name is alex. Hes the man, so on point with his skills and hes so easy to talk to, very knowledgeable all aspects which helps you decide what to eat. The popcorn lobster roll is my fav!!! Must try!

-update: this place has a steady prediction to excpect when dining here, the cumbersome atmosphere, the warm welcoming when you enter tmthrough the doors. Definetly this gem doesnt change one bit and upholds its reputation to high quality in every criteria in the spectrum.

The clerk displayed exceptional politeness, however, my seating arrangement was rather cramped. Additionally, I observed that the clerk attentively waited for me to finish my meal before presenting the card machine for payment, so, It's happens at sushi restaurants in the United States?

I was very surprised at how good the food was, as the restaurant is looking a little worn. We had delicious sushi rolls, good gyozas, VERY yummy mangoes and sweet rice. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the orange chicken...kind of meh. The service was excellent, and although the restaurant looks a little tired, everything was clean! Would come here again.

Not the greatest experience here. Fair warning, their menus do not reflect correct pricing, apparently pre-covid pricing which is over 4 years ago now. If you question your bill and point out that the right thing for a business to do is honor their pricing listed and not expect the customers to just be ok with being charged differently because the owner doesnt want to buy updated menus and servers do not provide customers with correct pricing or any verbal warning that pricing is different. I'm sure this is one of the reasons why the Better Business Bureau (BBB) was established.
Oh you should have seen how personal this female worker took it, she automatically instructed my friend to not fill out anything for a tip because she "doesn't want anything from us." Down right adorable that she felt she was going to be considered for a tip. I don't tip for bare minimum attention and bitter-broad attitude, I tip for a considerate server who is friendly and attentive.
To me, the food flavor/quality does not reflect the pricing.
The environment is not inviting, very crammed, loud, disorganized and service is well, below average to be nice.

Was looking forward to trying this restaurant. It took about 15 minutes to get acknowledge at the door, but we decided to wait. After finally getting a table the server took our order. After our order was taken my husband had to step out to run an erran. At this point, the wait time for the food wasn't bad. We got our food, ate and my husband got back after 30 minutes. Our server never came back to check on us, not once. After our meal we had to get up to pay because not even the check was given to us. As the server notices that we are leaving he asks my husband, "How was the service?" My husband's reply, "How dare you ask how the service was when not once did you check back on us." The server's excuse was sorry we are short staff." Sorry but that was not an excuse. There was a total of 3 server's and about 7 tables with customers.

Take away takes long. As they give preference to people who are sitting down. So you wait 30-45 min for sushi take away which is ridiculous in my opinion
Note: after receiving the sushi, I was even more disappointed. 2 stars now.

The only reason they are getting a star from me is bc the food is good here. I have been coming here since I was 5 years old, I am 38 now. The service is so bad. I kept coming bc again the food is good but also it was a Oma w of comfort. However we decided after a few years of being unhappy with the service that we would try the bellflower location and immediately I felt at home. I thought they kept the old feel but what I found was that the original owner sold the old location! Which made all the sense!! Never again will I come to this location. The service is the worse I've ever had anywhere. I wish the original owners wouldn't have sold but I will be traveling to the bellflower location moving forward. It's so much cleaner and the food taste like I remember it tasting and the staff is exactly who I remember and they make you feel like family. also, the prices are higher than the original owners…I always spend over 120 when I would go and I placed the same order at the bellflower location and it was a lot less! I was shocked.

We bought take out chicken satay and 2 other items.....stay away from the satay....its nasty - hard meat, dry, orange looking....seems like the meat was boiled first and place on some sort of grill after.

Food was very delicious. Service was very poor.
Arrive at 6:00 pm on a moderate Friday afternoon. Did not get greeted until about 6:26pm. There was tables seated after us that already had their drinks and appetizers. Our server was very moody and looked she did not wanna be there . There was alot of chatter of bad Service all around the room from other guest. Some of our main courses arrive sooner than out appetizers. There was a man carrying food around for what it seem like 10 minutes. It felt very disorganized. In the end, an older Asian lady was very polite and caring . Not sure who she was but was not our sever . Kuddos to her.
Was not planning on tippping because of the service, but she made our night a little better. Overall, the food is amazing! The only reason I come back

I got food poisoning from the gyoza (only thing I ate before I started having intense stomach pains). I've had it before and nothing bad happened but this second time my stomach has been hurting (among other common symptoms of food poisoning) for 4 days. I liked this place before but this experience ruined it for me.

Was in Long Beach for 3 nights...and had Sushi at Aki 2 out of those 3 for dinner ! The Unagi and Tuna Tatake negiri were like butter !

Fast seating and great environment

This was our sushi place when we lived in Long Beach.

My brother was in town so I wanted to take him and my mom out for lunch. We ordered pad se ew, a grilled salmon & tempera bento box, and sashimi combo. Our food came out all at different times, first the pad se ew, then 5 minutes later the bento box, then 10-25 minutes later the sashimi. We had to ask where it was thinking they forgot, as everyone was pretty much done with their food. When I looked over to the sushi bar, the chefs just seemed to be “hanging out” with no urgency to prepare our food and we were one of 2 parties there. When the sashimi finally came out, it was fishy, didn’t taste fresh and we didn’t/couldn’t finish it - such a waste of a $40. The server didn’t even come to ask how everything was. $85 later and disappointed, we left. I don’t know why and how this place got 4.5 stars but from someone who knows good quality and service food, this place is overrated.

They need to get new menus if they want to charge a different price for every dish... menu is old they told me so prices don't match... (get new menu) crossing out prices that its not visible then trying to charge me more for every dish is not acceptable.. I will not come back here.. sushi was ok.

The service and experience was pretty bad and the guy taking our order was not friendly at all. The food took about 45 min and they were less than half full. After taking our order initially our waiter did not come back the rest of the meal to check on our table. One of our rolls had hair on it and they barely apologized or acknowledged it. The sushi quality that did not have hair on it was good though.

This is the original one and there is one on Bellflower by the 405. BOTH have the same flavors and great service. REAL Thai food with real Thai ingredients can't be beat. Others say Thai food but are only half as good. Bai Plu is the only REAL one. Don't waste time and money on others at all.

I contacted the restaurant earlier this morning and had a conversation with Sandy. I found her demeanor to be quite discourteous and unprofessional. My intention was to place an order and inquire about potential catering options. Regrettably, Sandy displayed impatience during our conversation and even abruptly terminated the call.

Upon calling back, I reiterated my identity and proceeded to articulate my questions. It's imperative to emphasize that terminating calls with customers is not in line with standard polite customer service etiquette.

You can eat all you want and will never gain weight. My wife is diabetic and most of the foods here do her well. We come here every weekend

I've been coming to this restaurant for a long time and they have NEVER disappointed. I love that I can have Sushi and a delicious Thai dish all in one visit. I recommend this place to all my loved ones, and i recommend that you give them a try. Enjoy! I've attached a picture of the Yellowtail Carpaccio from my last visit. Quality & Taste 10/10!

My best friend and I enjoyed a late lunch here. He's vegetarian and I'm not, but I do love seafood and I like tofu, too. He eats here often and suggested the spicy seafood soup, the pad Thai noodles with tofu and the yellow curry with tofu. We also ordered a side of brown rice. Everything we ordered was delicious!! I highly recommend this restaurant.

The atmosphere is casual and the servers are all very pleasant. I plan on taking my husband and my son next! They loved my leftovers and are looking forward to eating at the restaurant.

This place has excellent sushi and Thai food. I am rarely in Long Beach, and we visited on a whim when the place we had planned to go was too busy, but it was excellent all around. I highly recommend the food here. Also, definitely get the mochi ice cream!

There were 10 people in our party. Service was great. The food was great and extensive, ranging from Japanese sushi to Thai soups. Presentations were beautiful. The fried Calamari rings were coated in a light tempura batter rather than the usual heavy coating one so often sees. The menu consisted of pages of photos of the offerings. The photos were accurate depictions of the actual dishes. The sushi rolls were done well and the sashimi was fresh. Well worth a visit.

I came here to have a small bottle of hot sake while I was waiting for a friend, and when I asked for the check, the lady got upset with me and was saying that people aren't allowed to only order a drink and no food. Rude staff, glad I didn't try the food.

One of my most favorite places to sit down & eat with my friends or family. The Menu has plenty of choices. Reasonably priced for size of meal. Portions are enough to share or take some to go. Very satisfied with the service here, the staff is very polite and attentive to customers. Clean & Relaxed environment. Highly recommend to anyone. Even if you dont like sushi they have alot of other delicious options.

It was good but something happened. They raised the price on some dishes and lowered the quality on the fried fish. The fish is not fresh anymore and they put some poor different sallad to it. Fine if they want to raise the price but don't go down on the quality. I will give them one more chance.

I have been working in Long Beach for a while and always get food on the go, I finally decided to find a place to sit down and eat. This place has so many options and the food was absolutely delicious. I took my boyfriend back with me and he loved it too. Server's are great. Will be back soon.

Sushi was great. Everything else was disappointimg including the cocktails, service/waitress, and the menu. A major redflag should have been the large menu, no small/medium-size restaurant can execute dishes on a menu well if there are too many. The cocktail was mostly shaved ice and severely watered down, and drunken noodles was listed as spicy noodles in a Thai restaurant. The server actually brought out a different dish, thankfully another server noticed and got the right dish, he is the major reason this is a 2 stars and not a one star. Additionally, nothing on their physical menu had the correct price, they do have a QR code but it is such a large menu to navigate it's easier to use the physical menu to find something to eat, then you get price shock later. If all the prices on your menu have changed, get rid of the old menu and just use the QR code not both. Those laminated pages were also sticky. When we were ready to pay, we couldn't find our server, another server noticed us looking around and asked us what we needed. It looked like a great place, it was our first time, and we will not be back.

They always run away when they saw you in the entrance. But at the time for pay, always looking at you to make sure you tip them LOL. They are always struggling with something . Food is ok buuut the service is the worst

Food was delicious here. I absolutely loved the pad Thai noodles. Their sushi rolls I can't remember which ones I had exactly, for we had a few but those were bomb as well. We also had Tom young soup and that was 🔥🔥. Service was a lil slow but the food made up for it. Definitely a friendly spot, they staff was friendly n nice. Definitely going back.

I tried the cream cheese wontons, Lakers sushi roll, beef bento box, and the fried ice cream. Everything was good. There are a lot of options to choose from in their menu. The server was patient and sweet. Its located in a busy street but they have a parking lot. I went on Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. and there was no wait.

This was my go to sushi spot for years. It has drastically gone down in quality and up in price.And now they tack on a "service fee" in addition to tax. Both combined was over 10 dollars. So you base your tip percentage on that total plus the food/drinks you ordered? At least inform your customers there is an extra charge for sitting down basically. Time to find a new go to sushi place.

I enjoyed the food I had. I came here for the lunch special, which was the BBQ Chicken that came with an egg roll and a choice of white or fried rice. It also comes with a salad and their house dressing. It was delicious.

Finally good thai in Long beach! We got them for GrubHub delivery and the driver was prompt, professional, and the food had authentic flavor that wasn't loaded with additives or watered down like other thai I've gotten in Long beach. I was a little hesitant because they also sell sushi but the quality was excellent. The woman over the phone was a little short with me because when I called to check on the status of the order she said that they only just received it 5m prior (on Saturday) even though I placed the order 45 minutes prior. Luckily though the driver was out for delivery but she did say they just got the order but then also that the order had just recently left so it was confusing she was a little Kurt but the food was delicious! Well done.

Everything was 3 dollars more than what the menu stats when the bill came, and then they added a $8.00 BS service fee on top of that. Greedy people. No tip for you!

We only ordered 2 basic rolls, one miso soup, a coke, a beer, and one soft shell crab. The service fee was more than 10 percent of the bill. Almost 80 dollars total. We will not be back ever!!

My daughter and I eat here all the time and recently took my brother for his birthday and he loved it. We also order from here on Uber eats all the time and have for years now. This is my favorite place for Thai food and their sushi is amazing! Over all this is both my daughter's and my favorite place to eat.

I was pleased to see the restaurant was not super busy. They have a variety of sushi and Thai options for those who prefer either. The sushi was pretty well-priced and tasted fresh and authentic. They also had very courteous and enjoyable staff. Wish I could come here more often.

They add a "SERVICE FEE" (10% of your total) charge to your bill without letting you know. It was a party of two. Also have the audacity to list tipping amounts on top of the fee. I find this deceptive and unfair towards customers. I personally don't support businesses that participate in these sneaky tactics. These hidden fees are getting ridiculous everywhere. Check your bill.

Need to Change Your Hours Online if you don’t offer Dine-In Service till 10PM! 2 times I have shown up recently at 9:15pm and was denied Dine-In service! I only come here because you SAY your open till 10pm and open 1hr later than other Thai Restaurants 5 minutes away.

A place where the food is mixed with Thai and Japanese sushi. You can no longer sit by the sushi bar. You order and they will bring it to your table. Service is fast. I hive it a 4 star becouse the prices have jumped 40 to 50%. For a place in a low income neighborhood the prices don't make sense. If it was in a high rise in Beverly hills with a great view then yes charger like crazy.

Nice place

They're okay... the sushi was fine, other food was basic, not bad, but not particularly flavorful or anything to write home about... service was sub-par. There are many, many other Thai/Japanese restaurants in town I would recommend, but friends with questionable taste insisted on coming here.

Very good place to eat Thai food. I personally love the spicy seafood soup. I always order their perfect steamed white rice with it. Egg rolls are very, very good.

Everything here is amazing! My favorite spot in town!! Always clean, and nice inside. Customer service consistently helpful.

Good sashimi, bad at everything else. Cheap, ugly restaurant just as the rest of the neighborhood it is located on.

I used to come here a lot. It seems the quality has dropped, I had an awful lunch yesterday. The rice under my eel was cold like out of the refrigerator, and my soft shell crab was oil soaked and partially raw with flavorless sauce. Those 2 and a large sake was $30. Too much.

The food is very good,the presentation of the dish is nice. We had a spicy seafood soup ( I forgot the name ) that was bomb literally 😁 The prices are not too high but it's worth it,very fresh!
