One of the best Cambodian restaurants, if not the best in the area. This is as close as you can get to home-cooked, authentic Cambodian dishes. All dishes are family-style portions. To start, the Beef Skewers were full of flavor, moist, and tender. It is slightly sweet, and salty with a light smoky taste. It is paired very well with the side veggie salad, crunchy. It cuts through that fattiness. The Papaya Salad with salted crabs was delicious, crunchy salty, and spicy. My favorite is Samlor Machu Kreoung, a traditional Khmer sour soup with beef, intestines, and tripe was a standout. It's so good and authentic tasting perfect for the colder weather and if you are a bit under the weather. It is fully loaded with ong choy. We had enough leftovers for the next day.

But the star of our lunch was the whole Fried Catfish served with Mango and Tamarind sauce. This is not your ordinary fried catfish. The catfish had a crispy skin outside but moist and flavorful inside. The size of the catfish was good enough for 4 people.

The restaurant looks like a family-owned and operated. The service was warm and welcoming. I love to see a steady stream of Cambodian families coming in. They must be doing something right.

The food is sooo good here!!! This is going to be a go-to place for me! Really friendly service and a big bonus — the chili paste/oil is soo delicious!

Diner Review №4

Their food always hit the spot. The authentic Khmer food is very well made and does stand out from a lot of the Cambodian restaurants in town. We drove over an hour to have our favorite dish. Well worth it.

The karaoke adds a great atmosphere.

This place has the best classic Khmer dishes, especially if you want to do family style or if you just want a big bowl of Kuy Teav! The flavors are always so on point, it leaves your mouth watering for more. I've come here a lot with my family and I love showing my non-Cambodian friends this place for it's delicious food and unique decor. The food always comes out fast and it's so tasty!!!

No prices on menu listing alternate menu is mean seriously business and leave other living the garbages. This is not America is all about. Community seriously hear others out and correct ways
Must need prices include in menu. because didn't look same in the menu pictures. No rice too. Was foods.

Came by to try cambodian food. It's not for me. I was ordering for myself and got family style portions. I don't eat beef or pork and as majority of dishes contain. Pretty authentic. Fish bones and skin.

Beware: no prices on menu which has got to be ILLEGAL, yes? ...and CASH only.
Each entree seems to range from $20-25, even the egg pancake thing.
Beef satay--5 big sticks, too tough, not worth the jaw work out--never spit out satay before, left the rest for my mom (she eats anything) :P
Nyom, consistently good options.
Salaw whichever, all good.
The shrimp & jalapeno dish was mostly jalapeno--steep price.
We also like their desserts & fresh fruits ($4-5/each option) by the cash register. Mostly Khmer patrons.
Was $180 for five dishes, rice, one coconut, hot tea pot + tip.
Yeah, I only go when I can get 4-5 people to join, divvy the ample portions & hefty bill. Better together.
Service, barely checked on us five.
Authentic Khmer food

Diner Review №26

They have the best Cambodian green noodle ever. But best to eat at home , greater taste when heat up very hot.

Diner Review №27

Diner Review №28

Nicest and friendly staff. Boat noodles were excellent but the chicken satay is oily, dry and disappointing. This being a family restaurant I could understand why they don't post prices on the menu, but $30 for a bowl of noodles and over fried dried chicken is a bit high for the area. I'd still come back but def skip the meats on a stick.

Taste makes me feel home. Same taste like in Cambodia.

Diner Review №32

What kind of restaurant have no prices on the menu?

We had to ask about the price.
Coconut drink $5
Beefsticks $15

Khmer ppl I know always rave about this place, food is delicious but it's not my type since CASH only.

I came here 1st time and will only be back if someone drive me here lol.

Diner Review №33

Food wasn’t bad, service was good, but extremely overpriced. Restaurant is a scam. Menu had no prices, we ate 3 items, fried fish, salad, and soup which totaled up to $86. Asked the management for the receipt and they said they couldn’t provide it. Other restaurants nearby charge almost 2x less for similar portion sizes. If you go here, make sure to ask for the prices beforehand.

First time try Crystal. The food is excellent , service as well. They open very early in the morning, if you are looking for a good Asian breakfast place, I think Crystal is a good choice. The place size is big. If something defect need to be pointed out, I wish the shrimp are cleaned better and the bathroom’s cleaning can be improved too.

I normally not to evaluate and rate about the restaurant that I've been to, but this restaurant is an exceptional.

Being to Crystal Thai-Cambodian Cuisine, is the worse experience that I have ever had. The price is relatively expensive. I order 3 items: Beef-sour soap, beef skewer, and mango salad, the total price is $69.

White rice they provide is not good at all. It appears to be cook by a cheap type of rice.

Mango salad is made and mixed with dried little shrimp, dried little fish and asian veggies, in which does not taste good at all.

Beef skewer is too sweet and does not taste fresh as I used to have at the other restaurant.

The beef sour-soap is a little okay to eat.

Diner Review №40

I have been going to Crystal for almost twenty years , the food there is remarkably exclusive in terms of authenticity, I'm Cambodian so i know however, they have been really Inflating their prices over the last 3 years. I remember coming to eat with my friend ordering 4 platters with rice on the side and it would cost just around $65,$70 ; Now this same order would literally cost us well over $100 ; I understand with the rising prices and such with the declining economy but keep in mind that this is unreasonably high when you think about products gradually returning to their normal prices . I really love that place but I'm better off dining at other places such as Bamboo Island on Anaheim st which is relatively competitive tastewise and spending considerably less . I honestly feel they are taking Advantage of the rising costs as an Excuse to overcharge customers like me Especially when they presently have a Not so inviting Sign inside stating that some of the menu items are not priced due to Inflation and that it is ur option as a patron to inquire thereof . Believe me, in the past years I have recommended that place to everyone I know but I no longer do. This is an establishment in a very humble section of Cambodia Town and I respectfully do not feel that the prices are justifiable when you can find other similar eateries at significantly less investments. Sincerely yours, Bora S.

Good food in a casual atmosphere.

Pros:
- Yummy food

Cons:
- Menus don't have prices, and you will get sticker shock when you see the final bill
- Hard to park

We were surprised to see that the menu has no prices. We ordered sadao salad with pork belly, somlar machu kreung with beef, chicken pad see ew, and one cup of dessert (the lady said it was $4) that was on the counter near their cash register. The food was delicious except for the dessert (the coconut milk was too water down). The total bills was $ 72.00!!! It was extremely overpriced! It is ok for a restaurant to have no prices on their menu?

Diner Review №47

Flavor is so different from other Thai Restaurant a bit on the exotic flavor.
Cash only Papaya Salad version they served had raw crabs

Diner Review №52

Good foods, it's really a hole in the wall.

Diner Review №53

amazing food. enough said. eat up. got the black pepper shrimp. the pepper sauce is bombay.

Diner Review №54

My boyfriend and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. We got the beef skewers to start which were incredible and had the perfect char on them and were so juicy and flavorful. We also split the boat noodle soup which was delicious and we split the Karrie Talong curry with chicken and it was fantastic. I also had a Thai iced tea which was made well. We loved everything we had here. The portions were big so be prepared to have leftovers. Prices were very reasonable for the portions. We can’t wait to go back next time we are in Long Beach. We might even make the trip just to eat here again!

Diner Review №55

Diner Review №56

Pros: Large portions for the whole family. Delicious, authentic and flavorful food. Ordered three dishes and had enough leftovers for a second meal for one person. Restaurant has been around for a long time and has enough seating for a medium sized group.
Cons: Depending on the time you go, Parking might be difficult to find.

Diner Review №57

This place is small and dirty - we ordered three dishes and realized there are no price on the menu. Asked the server how they get people to come in and try, if no price on the menu? His response was that they depend on their regulars coming in. We checked out- cost close to $100
Definitely a ripoff- beware to bring cash with you, no credit card accepted. A one star is too generous to give.

Diner Review №58

Authentic Cambodian cuisine. In the heart of north Long Beach. We often dine here for lunch and also do a lot of takeout.
Fresh ingredients and sometimes takes long for preparation but good quality food needs time to simmer. Literally.

The food is very good, I gave it 4 stars because of the parking issue.

Diner Review №76

This use to be the spot for beef sticks. Its okay now.

Diner Review №77

Great. I always get the fish soup and something else. Love this place

Diner Review №78

Very good food. Very authentic Khmer food at a good price. One of my favorite places to eat in Long Beach.

Diner Review №79

Diner Review №80

It's shady they don't have price listed on their menu.!!! You can't trust whatever they decide to charge! They have no idea how annoying it is to ask about pricing on everything you want to order!

Diner Review №81

My mother recently moved to LB and I was excited because they have a Little Cambodia and I had fallen in love with an authentic Cambodian restaurant up in the Bay Area. Well, my fella and I ended up at Crystal for lunch from a website recommendation and the Yelp had given it a one “$” so we were hoping it wasn’t too expensive. I had seen that it was a big CASH ONLY place so I pulled out $100 from an ATM beforehand. We were seated quickly with the only available table, the small place was very busy. The first uh-oh came when we opened the menu and there were no prices listed (in English at least.) We ordered the green mango salad, the lotus root w/ chicken entree, a bowl of Tom kha for one, and one Thai Iced tea. The second uh-oh came when the soup arrived and it was in a huge metal almost trough-like bowl, definitely not “for one.” Then came the lotus root chicken entree, the mango salad, and a big tub of white rice that we didn’t order but thought maybe came with? Food was ok. Tom Kha and Lotus Chicken pretty standard. Tom Kha had a thinner coconut milk broth than say like a traditional Thai Tom Kha has, but was still good. The mango salad was bogged down with way too much mint and this weird fish jerky that I was excited with at first but when I chewed it on its own, didn’t really have any discernible flavor and didn’t really feel like it complemented the dish. Anyway, we sorta joked guessed how much the meal would end up costing us since we couldn’t read the prices and my bf guessed $45? Maybe $50 with Thai iced tea? After we finished I went to the counter to pay and it was $69. Obviously they had charged us more for the not one bowl of soup we had ordered but they had decided to serve us, maybe extra for the rice too, etc. I dunno! But certainly not one “$” as Yelp suggested. Anyway, definitely won’t be going back to that particular spot but they probably won’t care as they were busy anyway with local Cambodian customers. And yes, we’re not a-holes so we still left a good tip.

Diner Review №82

Diner Review №83

Diner Review №84

Diner Review №85

Diner Review №86

Diner Review №87

One of the best in Long Beach!!!! This restaurant is a small place and not for big family gathering but if you are bringing the whole family just make sure to call first and reserve. The food is very good, fresh and large portion, not many places give you large portion ever since Covid hit. My number one place to go eat when I’m hungry for authentic Thai and Cambodian food. Services might be a problem only if your not patience as you all should know we asian are not fluent in English but can speak very little. If you raise your hand in the air they will come to you for service other wise they will come by your table once a couple because of respect, want people to enjoy and not be bother.

Diner Review №88

This place is roach infested!!!! Please BEAWARE!!! The people who work here are so rude and nasty! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!! The food was undercooked as well 🤢👎 0 stars if I could!

Diner Review №93

This place has the best Cambodian food in Long Beach. We're from the Bay Area; Whenever we go to LA, we always stop by Crystal. The flavor and taste are very authentic and is very close to my mom's cooking. The price is very reasonable for a Cambodian restaurant.

Diner Review №94

Amazing Cambodian food. Very authentic! The service was awesome and the restaurant was very clean. I will definitely be back😋

Diner Review №95

Great authentic Cambodian foods.

Diner Review №96

Diner Review №97

Love this spot. Great authentic cambodian and Thai food. Asids from the food at the restaurant, we also often order the cambodian beef sticks and then get baguettes from another spot to make sandwiches for gatherings. Super bomb!

Diner Review №98

Awesome Cambodian food

Diner Review №99

Thai boat noodle is delicious.

Diner Review №100

Best Cambodian food around! Small hole in the wall but if you're looking for authentic home style cooking that makes you feel like you're eating at your mom's house, with flavor that hits all the spots, this is the place and worth the wait. Do plan on long wait times and tight parking spots. Once you taste the food, you'll forget about the chaos of finding a parking spot.

Diner Review №101

Diner Review №102

Delicious foods, but be aware of the parking. The pizza guy has nasty attitude towards other if you ran into him. Do not support the pizza business next to the restaurant. Nasty guy with no respect of nearby business is a NO for customer.

Diner Review №103

Had the pork ribs with rice and pork soup. Super good. The meat was sweet and salty. I ended up liking it so much I was sucking out the bone marrow. Be prepared to take a nap after.

Diner Review №104

Diner Review №105

Diner Review №108

Diner Review №109

The food was good and authentic Cambodian flair. The service we good initially but when it got busy we didn’t see the waitress for awhile. The portions of food were quite fair for the price but keep in mind it is cash only and it appears the menu prices have changed as they were crossed out. Overall if you’re hungry and in the area this is a nice place.

Diner Review №110

The waitress kept dropping the soup around the table. She dropped the soup on my mask but didn’t even say sorry. Long wait. The glass for water is dirty.

Diner Review №111

Diner Review №112

The food is very good but there is no pricing on the menu. If you go there you have to be very careful of the bill. It is cash only but they over charge when you are not expected. And when you question them and caught them cheat you on the bill they get mad at you. I was over charge several times. At one time we went there for family lunch about 10 of us and we were over charge by $60. We ask her and she said it is right refuse to recalculate the bill until we persist many times before she finally recalculate the charges. I'm not the only one have this experience. My friends and other relatives have the same experience. So be careful with the bill.

Diner Review №113

Food very authentic 😋 must tried

Diner Review №114

Best Cambodian food in the area! Parking may be a problem and the restaurant is small but the food here is quality Khmer.

Diner Review №115

I just love this little place. The fried catfish is a must! It comes with lots of veggies and the service was great! My family and I are always at this restaurant when visiting Long Beach.

Diner Review №116

Good food, good prices. Got the Thai Boat Noodle and had enough food for 2 meals off $10. Thank you!

Diner Review №118

Diner Review №119

Diner Review №120

Open for take out only . I ordered the chicken sticks and fried chicken(its like a stir fried fried chicken platter). The chicken sticks were alittle on the dry side but still good. The fried chicken platter is always good. I dont come to this area often now but when I do, this is my go to choice for food

You're going to miss this Cambodiatown eatery if you're not looking for it. It's very nondescript. Also, enter through the side door as the door at the front of the building is locked. Once inside, ignore the decor. It's like your grandmother's basement: new light fixtures that don't really match, old school booths, framed posters and odd paintings. Large screen TVs blare some really badly produced Cambodian music videos. Staff is very nice and helpful. Food was good. Maybe not the absolute best, but tasty and a lot of it! Single portions are enough for two or three people. Seriously. We ate our fill in chicken curry and pad Thai and still took enough home for two additional meals. Other tables were getting dishes that were equally loaded with food. Also, this appears to be the place for regulars as every other guest there seemed to know the waitress and vice versa.

The service and hospitality was extremely politeful and courteous too! I will now always try to come by and order from this place when I come visit. The only downside is the atrocious parking lot.
