This place is amazing! Super clean, they sterilize each table after each costumer, decor is nice and simple, very bright and open! Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious!! Comes out super fresh and hot! The serving size of the woon sen noodles was huge! Definitely enough to share! The flavor was so good I didn't want to stop eating even after being full! The orange chicken was good and had a nice crunch to it but yet very moist and meaty. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes!!

A hidden gem at the corner of victory and Balboa. This place has incredible food- healthy, it's high quality, and the spices are perfect. I loved the yellow curry and the pad Thai. It's great to eat in the restaurant with great service and atmosphere. This was my first time visiting and I'll be back often.

Great food. Also amazing customer service and the manager Sam was awesome. The portions are huge and they are very generous on meat. Honestly, I have never seen any other Thai restaurant give this much meat and the meat was very fresh and tasty. Everywhere is increasing prices and cutting on portions but apparently not Box Thai. I am super impressed by this place, very honest business which is really hard to find in LA these days.

Had one of the spicy chef specials and it definitely had a good kick to it! Everything tastes good too, was glad to have a Thai tea Boba to help wash it all down (love that it came in a Mason jar, very LA hahaha). The servers are very friendly too! Definitely try this spot if you're a fan of Thai food or even just open to trying it!!

Found a new Thai spot! Very welcoming staff upon arrival. Food service was fast. And the Portions are family size. We got the fresh spring rolls, red curry & pad see ew. To me the food portion was small for the price and taste was just basic. I think there are way better thai food around LA area. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

First time we ate there with friends. My Thai salad was good but the pad Thai noodle is pretty plain.

My lunch order was ready in 7 minutes and out the door I went! I’m so grateful it was fast service because I had limited lunch time.

What are you waiting for? If you live in Lake Balboa, you should know Box Thai. We take out from there at least once a week (and once you eat their food, you will too!). Terrific, flavorful menu and friendly customer service all at a good price. Box Thai is a wonder and a real asset to the Lake Balboa community.

It was my first time last night , and I really didn't know what to order 🙃 😅 the lady was so nice in explaining the different options , which was very helpful, and she was very pleasant. This...!!! A great place to try thai food. Mango sticky rice is one of the best I've had and they open early so when night shift is done, it's a good breakfast for dinner for me. I appreciate their great service specially since my brother may at times not have the best mannerism. The server that helped us out was very nice and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

The worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. They made me wait 40 minutes to tell me my food was given to someone else.

This wasn’t surprising because they had orders mixed together and just lined up without any tickets or designation.

They also had a room full of people and a person answering the phones who asked a person if they wanted to order from “this restaurant” 5 times.

Ordered catering for 50 people a few days ago. Price was very fair and we even have a ton left over. The food here has always been very good. Have been customers almost since day one. Will be ordering again, but maybe a little less next time..lol

We were with our family and our cat in a backpack. The waiter asked to leave the restaurant, although the cat did not make any noise. The cat is very quiet. Why don’t they write on doors and websites that there are no animals? I am not satisfied. I will never visit them. Write that you do not want customers with animals!

This is the to go spot for great Thai food. This is one of our favorite spot to go for amazing food. They never disappoint. Bomb Pad Thai, Thai tea, Dumplings, coconut shrimp tempura.

I only get here about once a year, and it's always good. Fresh spring rolls, pad thai, even the fish n chips all perfectly cooked. Their sticky mango rice is to die for.

8/25 update: lowered my rating to 3 stars. I've been there five times now and I had two very good experiences and three sub marginal experiences. I'm not sure I'll be going back. They're chefs and food are inconsistent.

Really great Thai food that came out piping hot. I wasn't crazy about their prik nampla and they don't offer all the condiments including the peppers and dry red chilies. But all in all really solid Thai food. I Also, I way too much plastic.

For years we've been eating at Lum Ka Nada, a Thai restaurant on Ventura Boulevard. It is a comfortable eatery, with excellent waiters, and delicious food. But, unfortunately, it closed for several weeks because of the COVID pandemic.

My son found a delicious replacement. A surprisingly large, four year old, neighborhood eatery, located in a strip mall, about a mile north of Ventura Blvd.

BOX THAI STREET FOOD offers an extensive menu, including both Thai street and Asian fusion selections, at a more modest price.

Chef Poo's meals are delicious. If you have special dietary requirements, she will alter her recipes to be gluten free, vegan, make allergy substitutions, adjust the level of spice, or other concerns. No MSG is used. The menu states, "Any Redos Afterwards you will be responsible to pay for."

My wife and I picked up our son's birthday"banquet." The preordered takeout included: vegetable fried rice, vegetable pad thai, chicken fried rice, and chicken satay. All were flavorful and mildly spiced. Coconut yellow curry, loaded with veggies, added a wonderful warm flavor. Boiled chicken was separately packaged from the curry, so first I served myself the vegan sauce and veggies, then my son, mixed the two together, completing a chicken curry. Servings are generous, after dinner there was lots of delicious leftovers.

Carryouts are supplied in recyclable cardboard containers.

The restaurant has recently remodeled and has added many new seats. Sam, the owner and maitre d provided excellent, caring service.

I was told that Box Thai Street Food is a favorite afternoon snack with Hollywood film crews while on location in the San Fernando Valley.

Everything is wheelchair accessible. Parking is free.

So now I'm torn between two excellent eateries. Do I go for ambience or price?

I ordered online the tom yum soup (shrimp and tofu). At first tasted it was super delicious. It truly a flavor of Tom yum soup that I was looking for. I would love to order again or eat in the restaurant in near future!!!

Won't take orders ahead of time unless you pay with a credit card - ridiculous. If you want to pay cash you can only do it there. Great food, but horrible business. It's hard for an employee to steal a credit card number when you're standing there and they're sliding it, but giving your card number on the phone is ridiculous to somebody you don't even know you're looking at.

The crab fried rice is next level. All of the food we ordered was fresh and tasty!

Box Thai street food has some great Thai food. The crab Rangoon was great and so was the pad Thai. That restaurant was very clean and well kept. We were with a rather large group but the food came out quick and the server was very attentive. I would recommend trying out Box Thai Street Food if you haven't already.

This restaurant has been a gam for me. It's such an authentic Thai restaurant. The fish is outstanding, and so are the noodles and the veggie dishes. This is a family owned restaurant that pays attention to the quality and taste. I'm glad that I found this place.

We ordered the soup, signature rice and coffee. The soup was average would have been nice if it was over a hot flame. Tasted like it was just microwaved. The signature rice was super sweet, rice should be salty but it seems like they just added sugar to it and not to mention the rice was very mushy. I also got their Thai coffee ughhh overly sweet gave me a toothache. Nice ambience but food sucked. Won't be coming back!

We tried this place last week and we loved it. My husband is a thai food lover and never wanted to try a different place we used to go. Now He has two favorites restaurants for thai food!!

I feel bad about the 3 stars but here's the problem: everything is sweet. Even the "hot" dishes are sweet. Not authentic at all from that perspective which was a huge disappointment. It's in a relatively busy strip mall and parking could be problematic. But otherwise nice, clean, pleasing interior with good service. I just wish the food had stronger authentic flavors and not so sweet.

My last order of bbq ribs was kind of small. The portion have shrunk compare to my previous order but the taste is good

I was very excited to try this place but now disappointed how this place is managed. I was Surprised for the 5 stars. So decided to come here from Temecula so driving 2 hours, meeting with friends who live about 30 minutes from here and fiancé who drove an hour to get here. I enjoy Thai food, but if this is the last THAI food place, I'm NEVER stepping a foot here! Our friend called this place and they said if you are here by 7:15, you'll be fine and you're able to dine in. We figured will get here and eat quick and grab Boba close by. I got here by 7:10, there is ONLY 2 people in the restaurant and the lady is like yelling in a way where she cant take my order and we cant be seated because they close at 8. its 7:10!!! and that people sitting there have been waiting for 20 minutes for their food, well this is an issue and perhaps should be taken care of because what kind of customer service is this! When I asked her why we were told we would be seated, she keeps pointing at her wall and saying that they got a long list of orders and that it will take ONE hour to get our food to be cooked for TOGO! absolutely not! she is also trying to rush us to order. NO I refuse!

I notice how rude the response is when people dislike the service or management, but this place is terrible and I would take my business elsewhere! Lie over the phone to get business yet not be able to serve people whey they are there. There is no appreciation or good customer service or whatsoever!

If you notice all the negative reviews are due to customer service. Then the owner responds in the worst way to reviews as possible. you don’t make excuses or try to justify the poor service man. it’s not an attack on your character or family. a negative review is actually a chance for you to get feedback from the only people who matter first hand- YOUR CUSTOMERS! It’s an opportunity for you to improve. I don’t even believe this guy really tries to understand what people are trying to say. Look dude, your food is great, but your service sucks. Read what people are saying. then I saw this guy(owner) try to get a customer to fight him tonight. You’re so lucky that customer didn’t knock you out dude. Haha. If I didn’t see it with my own eyes, I would never believe it. Unbelievable. SMH. 🤦‍♂️

Terrific food and great people. I love eating-in here, but do delivery most of the time. Plan ahead, though, because they can get busy and delivery can take a while. But to me, "busy" is a very good sign, and it's totally worth the wait. Good pad Thai and curries, the crying tiger and BBQ pork are my favorites.

For having such good food, and a polite owner, this business just keeps living down the dream. Staff just don't seem interested in business. Went in twice and both times told to come earlier next time. We showed up before last call the second time, but they weren't willing to seat us. In past, when we tried calling in an order, we would randomly be told that we had to pay by card for all phone orders. It is just easier to go somewhere else than gamble on eating at this place.

I have been in the Restaurant Industry for over 15 years and I must say Box Thai Street Food is hands down one of my favorite Thai places I have had! It is an absolute must in the Valley! I tried the Pad Woon Sen with Shrimp added and it was so delicious! You can tell the chef puts a lot of care, love and detail into the food. I felt I was getting quality ingredients that were fresh, authentic and flavorful. The service is so authentic I felt right at home. I am so excited to go back and look forward to trying out more on the menu they have a great selection! They really check the list off for me, great service, incredible/quality food, dedicated chef, warm environment and excellent menu! Incredible place that everyone must try!

Honestly, I have never seen any other Thai restaurant give this much meat and the meat was very fresh and tasty. Everywhere is increasing prices and cutting on portions but apparently not Box Thai. I am super impressed by this place, very honest business which is really hard to find in LA these days.

I love to come here whenever I’m in the area! My favorite dish is the pad see ewe with tofu. I once met the owner while I was waiting for my food and we chatted, he was so knowledgeable and I can tell he put so much love into this restaurant. I asked if he had any other locations and he said this was the only one! Maybe one day there will be franchises but in the meantime this place is worth the drive from NELA!!

The food was made fresh and absolutely delicious. However, the waitress act like she was rushing us to order. We couldn't really decide on what to get. She clearly didn't take the time to explain. They weren't busy at ALL. ALSO, I noticed they packed everyone else left overs in a box and placed it in a nice small paper bag. Our waitress just gave us boxes to pack our own food and went towards the back and gave us a plastic bag ( in which I had to ask for a bag)😏

Box Thai is our new favorite restaurant! The food is delicious, fresh, affordable, and the staff is kind and helpful. We’ve been several times, recommended to others, and have loved every dish, including the papaya salad, pad see ew, pad thai, tom kah soup, and spring rolls. We also tried the coconut crepe cake which is not only hard to find but next level taste wise. Do yourself a favor and try Box Thai…you will not be disappointed.

Hands down the best Thai food spot in the valley! Their food is always made fresh with traditional Thai ingredients. You can taste the love in the food and wonderful flavors once it hits the palette! Their service is excellent and they package your food with care when you order to go. One of my personal favorites is the Green Curry with chicken and white rice, as well as the Gra Prow Kai Dow which is ground chicken sautéed with fresh basil, onions, and bell peppers with a side of white or brown rice topped with a fried egg, so delicious! Now if you’re ever in the area or want to try something new I would suggest giving them a try, I’m sure you’ll enjoy their Thai food! ;D

Tasteless dry beef, chicken not much better.
Noodle has no taste, just chilli paste spicy.
Chef's rice soup? Just leftovers from the sink disposal grinder put together. Sad for such good location.

Catered my grandmothers birthday party, and it was amazing. Everything looked and tasted perfect. It was so good we had the leftovers for the next several days. Curry had the right amount of spice. Prawns where huge. Presentation was spot on.

This place has amazing Thai food. Sam one of the owners was awesome and very kind. Opened the door and welcomed us in. He gave great recommendations on what to order. The food was really good and filling. Great way to end a day of climbing. I would definitely go back to this resturant. The atmosphere was fantastic. Sam really made us feel at home. Awesome guy and great customer service.

The BEST Thai food in the Valley. Food is always fresh and delicious, the veggie egg rolls just hit DIFFERENT. Along with the sauces, must be made in kitchen because they're unbeatable!! Prices are amazing for the portions, not over priced at all. Every time I have come in the employees have always been nice and very helpful. Never had a problem with any part of the experience that is Box Thai. Truly a great place to get some delicious, filling food.

This is the best Thai food In the valley. It’s fresh and delicious every time. I hope people who read this can see through the petty comments. The staff is fine, they treat people with respect. Anything less than 5 star rating should be viewed as people who are just A-holes or are unpleasable.

Bad Customer Service!
I have placed orders to go twice, both times I got very bad attitude from the cashier(s). Both times they marked my receipt with bright red marker on the tip section and when i put zero i immediately got attitude and they started talking in their language. I don't feel i should be pressured to give a tip on something i'm picking up!
Food is good but I don't think I will return again if i keep getting attitude for not tipping on a takeout.

Customer service needs HELP. Why can’t I place an order for pickup without leaving you with my card number? I’m paying in cash... I literally wasted my whole of my lunch break driving over to place an order that I could have placed over the phone and could have been ready when I arrived. I do not appreciate the way I was handled. Then, when I get there, the restaurant is empty. Y’all could have made my order when I called, instead of inconveniencing me the way y’all have. I loathe when the love of money, diminishes customer service. I WILL NOT be back.

I ordered vegetable noodle soup and curry pineapple & chicken with rice to go. The soup was delicious. The rest is for lunch tomorrow so we shall see!

I believe their food is good .but the attitude of the people working thr counter is horrible I was slapped with a fiery attitude by the girl working the counter ,as soon as I asked for a menu , she didn't even welcome mi sorrowful decision to eat here so when I asked what was the name of the food in one of the pictures in the menu,, she answered with an obvious remark that it was a salad well I can see is a salad but at least tell me something else!!!...then some whites dudes came in and her attitude changes a 180 degrees ...well I guess she doesn't like latinos or brown people. too sad cause she is Asian and brown as me but well I dont now what to think...hope they do something about this...

Great food, great prices, and great service. I've just recently(2 weeks) found this restaurant but I've already been 3 times and gotten delivery once but every time the food is really good and the people really nice.
