We really enjoy dining at this restaurant. The food is always delicious and the staff members are always friendly. We have never had a bad experience at the restaurant. I will admit it does take some time to get your food, but this restaurant is always busy, especially with the numerous take out orders that are placed, so have patience. The staff members are doing their best.

We learned about the history of some of their specialty dishes and how the Thai people also eat them. It was hot and sunny, so we had a rich and refreshing Thai Iced Tea to cool us down. We started with the Curry Puffs, which were so pillowy and heavenly. These were definitely made with love! Next, we enjoyed the Som Tum Salad and Pad Thai with Tofu which were flavorful and complemented one another so well. The dishes were all beautifully presented and perfectly balanced between salty, sweet, spicy, and sour. Make sure you try a sweet treat in the end. We had the creamy Tapioca Coconut Milk and it did not disappoint. There were so many dishes on the menu, and we can’t wait to visit again to try them all. The food was delicious, and the staff was simply amazing! If you absolutely love Thai food, this is the place!

Best Thai food I’ve ever tasted. Food was divine and extremely flavourful. I loved the Hawaiian fried rice. They accommodated our large group on a busy night. Service was phenomenal and so sweet and friendly.

It was so nicely decorated for Xmas! They are the only thai place I've seen that has a curry noodle. The atmosphere, food, and service were amazing, can't wait to go back.

I love the food here! I usually order the green curry. The tom yum soup is good too--loaded with fresh veggies.

We recently discovered this gem of a local Thai restaurant in La Mesa. We had a delightful lunch. The dining room feels very spacious for a fairly compact space. Food is really delicious with very friendly service.

Omg the food is so good, it’s addicting how delicious it is!

We got the Spicy Noodles (Drunken Noodles) and Panang Curry and both were perfect! (Level 2 spicy was the perfect kick without being too hot)

This is going to be our go-to Thai spot from here on out :)

Everything here is always amazing and delicious and the people who work here are so lovely and wonderful. I get food from here just about every week. I'll often do take out, but sometimes it's nice to eat at the restaurant as well. The dessert with dinner is super tasty coconut milk and tapioca.

Food is delicious here. Took me a while to find a good Thai food place and this is my go to now.

My husband and I ordered the mango chicken curry and the spicy noodles with the rice pudding dessert and all of it so was amazingly great. The reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because we found a hair (reddish brown) in the dessert pudding as well as a small fruit fly. We were initially hesitant to go to this place because of a recent review stating there was a roach in her order. Alas no roach in ours but I’m hoping they step up their sanitary practices so we feel more comfortable coming back in the future.

Becareful! They charge you the tip automatically in your bill , we didn’t notice it and my husband left another 20 dlls tip.. So they ended with a 50 dll tip, I would ve go to a fancy place instead with all the money we spent there.

The avocado curry is a unique dish I haven't seen anywhere else, and it's fantastic. That and the melt-in-your-mouth orange chicken are must-haves when our family eats here.

(I eat a lot of pad see ew and this still stood out as superior). Adding Bamboo fresh to my restraunt rotation immediately and can’t wait to come back soon!!!

I got veggie curry with sticky rice. I usually order red curry as a starter if it’s my first time attending a restaurant since it’s a pretty standard dish. I read the reviews & rating before coming so maybe my expectations were too high but the curry lacked flavor a bit with a thinner consistency. If you like spicy def go higher than 6. I asked for 6 but my lid read 4 so Ig they just misheard me so mine wasn’t spicy at all. I’m willing to give the place another try. The service was great. Atmosphere was intimate.

Seriously, wow!!! This place is a shining gem of La Mesa. I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of service, given the very much hole-in-the-wall nature, but everything was sincerely top notch. Service was absolutely stellar, much better than many, much larger restaurants I’ve eaten at in SD lately. The food was phenomenal, and the presentation was beautiful as well. We ordered the yellow curry fried rice as well as the avocado chicken green curry, which both came out gorgeously plated. I was too excited to start eating, I forgot to take pictures! The prices are great as well. Very generous portions. Excited to try the sticky mango rice next time! I can’t wait to dine in again—as well as pick up some takeout in the future🤩Thank you very much for an incredibly warm and friendly experience, from one service industry professional to another!

After eating the pad Thai that has a bunch of grease dripping from the box (takeout) I had to use the restroom 10+ times. Food was good but made me sick.

Do not come here!!! Bad service…
I came here last week to eat lunch with my coworkers. We paid and walked out the restaurant when this young male server comes tracking me down, pats my shoulder and asks me “did you not like my service? Why didn’t you tip me?!” I didn’t even know what to say, but he continues on to tell me “if you don’t want to tip then you have to order take out but if you dine in that means you want the service and must tip”. I was shocked and embarrassed I had no words. I can’t believe he had the nerve to track me down after I had already walked out the restaurant. The food was mid and his service was not great. He had no enthusiasm or energy when serving my table and only checked on us once. Never coming here again.

It was our first time eating here, the ambiance was cozy, it was just a small restaurant. The food was great. We had fried calamari, chicken pad thai, sticky mango rice and thai iced tea. My husband liked the calamari, and we ended up ordering 2 of it. The server was very nice and considerate.

Love the yellow curry and the yellow curry fried rice. Lunch specials are delicious and affordable. Dinner always comes with complimentary dessert! They need a remodel but looks like they're slowly in process. Staff is nice.

We had a really delicious dinner with a bottle of Dr. Loosen's riesling (with frosted glasses and an ice bucket)! We had crab angel appetizers, tom khar soup with duck, avocado chicken green curry, and spicy eggplant with duck. It was all superb! Thank you for the food and kind service!!

This is probably the best green curry I’ve ever had. Passing through here and found this gem. Super fast takeout service. Ordered green curry tofu lunch special. Amazing depth of flavor. I got 7/10 spicy and it’s perfect. Spicy but not too much so. Food came out super hot. The owner made sure my dish is celiac safe. Highly recommend!

Great food, but lately there's always an issue when we order online. My wife placed an online order at 6:55pm. I knew they'd be busy so I didn't come to pick up the order until 7:50pm. The girl at the front couldn't find my order, so I had to show her the order confirmation. Then she goes to the back and comes back to me and says "it's going to be about another 10 minutes. We're waiting on the soup." Really? My order isn't ready an hour after we placed it? I think they lost my order and then blamed it on the soup. Previously we ordered online and when I came to pick up the order, they hadn't started on it, because the order was still sitting in their fax machine. Smh

This place has to be one of the best Thai restaurants around the area! Their food is delicious, their staff is very nice and attentive, and the prices are as you would expect. Their menu also has a ton of items to choose from. I've been here twice so far and will definitely be returning in the near future.

I've eaten at this restaurant for the past 5 years and today was the first time that I've been dissatisfied with the food. We ordered chicken pad thai, chicken fried rice, orange chicken, and shrimp spring rolls. The rice and the orange chicken were good but the pad thai was only okay (and definitely use to be better since I ordered it every time). But what upset me was the 'fresh' shrimp spring rolls. The bean sprouts were brown. I didn't notice until I went to eat the second piece. I googled 'bean sprouts turned brown' and learned that it means their starting to rot. Here's the kicker - I'm pregnant so this is really, really upsetting to me.

Maybe this was a bad day for them, but regardless if it was, you should never sacrifice food quality for anything at a restaurant

I'm giving 3 instead of 1 star because this is a first time offense and they offered me a free replacement next visit. But I won't be returning.

On3 of my favorite Thai restaurants here in SD. I traveled alot and this is the most authentic I can get for being in Cali. Everywhere else is always a disappointment, so I keep coming back here. I love me my duck Curry

Our go to take out spot, 1x a week is not unusual 🤣. Bamboo never disappoints!! Well priced, super yummy, we always order enough for leftovers. I especially love the tom yum, just the right amount of umami. Curry fried rice, spicy noodles and panang eggplant are our regulars. The spice level is serious so I’d recommend going 1-2 levels down from your normal number.

NEVER EVER come back to this place which has slowest service and worst food. We were waiting like more than 10 mins to get menu after we sat down. We don’t get any drinks until we asked for. Of course it takes forever to get our food. It’s horrible and I have no idea how come this restaurant rates 4.6. If I could, I’ll give zero star. Don’t waste your money and your time here.

Highly recommend the house special #70 Ka Pao Gai Dao. It’s so good and almost as good as the best one that I had in Thailand. The papaya salad is also good, the taste is more on the fresh and light side rather than on the heavy side like the southern Thai style. Had really good talk with one of the ladies there too. The vide is cozy and modern. Hope I get to come back whenever the next time I visit. Good job running an honest business!

The best Thai food in east county. I always get the spicy noodles, and my wife always gets a curry. The service and food is great.

There was a parking lot so don’t worry about parking! We spent about 60$ for the two of us but you can get really full with 10-20$ per person!

This was our first visit but I’m telling you it is a really great place!! The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was great! The cute decorations and music were really relaxing! The staff is so friendly and they kept checking on us and brought us water frequently.

The bamboo basket is really good! It was really crunchy, fresh and tasty, the two sauces that came with it were perfect to go with, I especially love that there were two little spoons by the sauce so you won’t get everywhere messy.

We had the spicy level 4 green curry and it was really spicy for us but so goood! It’s really flavorful and you can taste the creamy coconut in it!

I had a medium rare Tiger Cry Steak but it was too well done and too dry for me, but besides that the vegetables that came with it were fresh and well cooked, the mint sauce was really good too!

We loved our dessert!!! The mango sticky rice is a little different than any other mango sticky rice I’ve had before, it’s a little salty and a little sweet, it’s a good balance and you gotta try it yourself!!

Best spicy noodles!

The noodles are good, but small portions for the price.. and the crab angel had absolutely no crab in it. I have ordered take out from here twice now and it’s never ready when they say to pick it up. Both times they didn’t even start making the food until I got there. They then tell me it’s going to be 10 minutes, but the food isn’t ready until 20 minutes later.

A bit busy and they seem to have a problem with serving the whole table at once. Apps take care of that problem. We love to cool our mouths with the iced coconut milk, canteloupe tapioca desert. they are over seating and understaffing the kitchen. i get the whole can’t find staff but it’s packed. 1.5 hours for food to arrive. Actually the mgr told me our sushi order was only 55 min. sushi is large but pretty average quality. we went wed night and i heard a similar tale on tue.

Every dish I've had here has been exceptional in flavor and value. Can't ask or expect much more from a small mom and pop gem like this one.

Please do not assume that Bamboo Thai is a generic Thai place at first glance. Their food is exceptionally comforting and fulfilling. The portions are plentiful, the food is home cooked, and the staff is eager to please. People who leave poor reviews either don’t like Thai food or have unrealistic exceptions whatever the reason.

I got the lunch special, I ask for red curry I know is going to be have some spicy on it I ask mine to be at minimum but looks like the give me from 1 to 5 rate a 4 and this come from a person that handle very high spicy food.
The lunch special supposedly come with salad but is a 4 bites salad and they give me the trunk of the lettuce really? Who it that? I add a picture.
The lady at the front desk was rushing me out too bad customer service.
I recommend the other Thai food spot across the street better flavor and customer service

I always come here for my Panang Curry. It is sooo good. I ask for a combo of meats (beef, pork, chicken, & shrimp), instead of just one meat, and without the Calamari. How spicy? I always choose "10"...I love my Curry spicy!

Delicious food, don't ask for sticky rice

Can always count on this place to make delicious food. Their fresh rolls are some of the best and refreshing things on the menu, the curries are delicious, I also enjoy their tofu soup and pad thai immensely. Ordering for carry out gives very nice portions as opposed to eating in.

Its fine for a neighborhood restaurant but I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here. Food was decent but gave me a lot of gas.

Although the takeout service was slow, the food was delicious and I would definitely order from here again. I was very pleased with the price and taste of the yellow curry with duck!

The best Thai food in SAN Diego, great prices and I love Pad Tai, Basil Fried Rice, Spring Roll, Crab Angel, it's a family place and sometimes it takes a while, but it's very good.

Seriously the best Thai food I’ve had! I loooove their cashew tofu dish, and it comes in a large portion, good enough for 2 meals. I’ve tried to recreate the recipe at home but I just can’t get the flavor right. It’s hot, fresh, and perfect every time we’ve ordered. My husband gets the beef Pad See Ieu (spelling’s wrong probably) and loves it. They’re following Covid protocols, also.
