Modern dessert shop specializing in traditional Thai desserts & morning bites, savory or sweet.
Tried the TomYum Noodle Soup for take-out. Didn't really live up to the expectations of the other reviews. The rice noodles were good, and it was packed well, but flavors of the soup felt a bit muted. There wasn't really any veggies in the soup either. We're not of Thai ethnicity, so I'm not sure about its authenticity; but, we've had this same soup at other Thai restaurants before, and this was not as flavorful or spicy.
Angela is an amazing host. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is warm and full of life and the food is amazing. Probably the best Thai you can find anywhere within 50 miles! The homemade cilantro hot sauce should be bottled and sold. I would drink that by itself.
Simple and clean restaurant, located at the back corner of Pacific Shopping Center with plenty of parkings but can get busy on the weekend.
The Beef Boat noodle is really good, spicy level is medium to me, if you like less or more spicy do ask the staffs they are very friendly.
Have a good experience here. I love their Thai iced tea as well as the coconut ice-cream.
Is the taste authentic? this probably the first Thai restaurants beside the ones in Thai Town (LA), where you can see many Thai customers. Will come again for different dishes.
Absolutely delicious!!!
My husband came here with a friend and sent me a pic of Kao Soi and I was already drooling. He wanted to take me (and eat it again cause it was so good) and we had a chance to today!
This restaurant is found in a big plaza with other restaurants! It’s in a corner and you can either sit outside or inside.
Plenty of parking and it was a nice day.
The water has a sensor (instead of pushing a button). Their cups are big sizes!
We ordered Kao Soi (sort of like a curry noodle soup dish that is SUPER flavorful and yummy) and Tom Yum Noodle Soup (spice level is manageable and it was so delicious)!!!
Even passerbys saw what we were eating and asked what to order.
I definitely recommend this place! I also will return to try all the other dishes and desserts!
Service was pretty good. I asked for extra napkins and handed in the finished plates but found out they have a tray outside (they thanked us for helping them out though).

Petty - as soon as you walk in the door
Very delicious foods.
Man that Khao Soi was fantastic. So much texture and flavor, in a very generous portion! Can’t wait to bring friends with me next time. Usually a bit of curry leftover, a side of rice might be a good move.
❤️❤️❤️ the mango sticky rice and the crispy coconut rolls 😍😍😍
Their curries are delicious.
My most favorite place for lunch in south bay!
Holy Kao Soi!
A friend recommended I try this place after I was telling him that Thai food is my favorite food, and it did not disappoint. That Kao Soi was the best thing I've eaten in a long time. This place does not have the typical dishes that you expect to see at a traditional Thai restaurant. It says breakfast and dessert in the description, and I'm sure those are good too, but I'll never know. I think that I am forever stuck getting the first thing I tried because I would feel like I was missing out if I walked away without it. I'm counting on all of you to try the other things on the menu and report back to me!
PS before going, I read some reviews on Yelp, and there were a few people complaining about the service... don't pay them any attention. You order your food and pay at a counter, then sit down and they bring it to your table, you leave and they collect your dishes. There is no server 🤷♀️
PPS first time having Mango Sticky Rice. TBH, I didn't love it, I want my desserts real sweet, and this was subtle (great flavor, but subtle sweetness). However, the other two people in my party LOVED it. I wouldn't get it again, and they would not go back without getting it again.
Pork legs were awesome.
Had Curry Noodles Food was excellent and on point !! My first time eating at Sweet Rice & yes I will return
I ALWAYS order one of two dishes: the Khao Soi Thai curry noodle soup, or the Thai version of Hainan chicken rice (I think only available on Fridays). Both are awesome. Also right next to their sister restaurant, Bowl Thai Grill. Both restaurants are highly recommended, and their respective menus are different.
Angela is an amazing host. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. The place is warm and full of life and the food is amazing. Probably the best Thai you can find anywhere within 50 miles! The homemade cilantro hot sauce should be bottled and sold. I would drink that by itself.
This is it folks.
This used to be the best Thai food in South Bay when it first opened and I became a regular but unfortunately I think they changed chefs. Last couples of times I've been disappointed so stopped going altogether. Overcooked rice, undercooked chicken and poor service.
I go here prob more than I should lol. Really good food. I recommend the kao soi it's fantastic. Also the mango sticky rice
The Kao Soi is soooo good. Next time I get it I will get a side of rice to mop up the rest of the curry. Can't wait to try their omelettes, rice dishes, and desserts. I'm very fortunate to work nearby. I'ma get all of my coworkers hooked so we can have lunches here! Shout out to Misohungry for putting me on to this spot.
The best Thai food in South Bay for sure! I've been living in Thailand and I was craving real, delicious Thai food. After trying a lot of places this is definitely my go to! Sooo happy I've found it! Not to mention Kao Soi is such a rare dish to find in this area! P.s: don't miss the mango sticky rice either!
Casual Thai dining spot where you order at the counter. There's a good selection and the portions are a decent size. Service is pretty minimal but it wasn't a problem for this kind of eatery. I'd come back here to try the other menu items.
Khao Soi: Get
Full of wonderful flavors and textures. This is one of the better khao sois that I've gotten in SoCal. Make sure to squeeze all of those lime juices out to compliment the savoriness of the dish.
Mango sticky rice: Get
Perfectly ripe mangoes with coconut sauce and the sweet sticky rice...mmmm one of my favorite desserts and it's done right here.
Food: 8/10
Service: 5/10
Atmosphere: 6/10
Value: 7/10
Taste is good. Dishes are authentic. We tried green curry, panang curry and noodles. Mango and rice also taste nice.
When I read all of the reviews raving about the khao soi, I didn't need to go any further. That's what I get every time, and it is always so good. 'Nuff said.
Nessa (I may remember the wrong name) is so sweet and gave me a dessert for free since I asked her what it is. That became one of my birthday gifts.
It's a small place and hidden in the corner but very good thai food. They only have a few stuff that they serve but it's great. Try the desert as sticky mango and other sweet stuff.
Bangtown
Their food taste exactly like the food Ihad in Thailand. Really tasty.
I can’t believe how good the food was here from the very first bite onward

Authenticate! Hard to find elsewhere in LA
The Khao Soi might be the best in America. It does such a great job of blending so many wonderful flavors.
I came here last year loved it. I thought about this meal multiple times over the last year and was excited to come back today and have it be just as good as I remembered.
Delicious 😋
Yummy desserts!
My bro, my daughter and I got the Kao Soi Beef that was brutally amazing; to say my brother was in heaven, my daughter said was a hit on her list and it left me craving for more: so adding this place to my fav list of amazing authentic ethnic foods for pick up. My daughter and I had the Thai ice tea and my brother had the perfect Thai iced coffee which was very flavourful not too sweet either. We shared the Mango & Sweet Rice and I must say that dessert is SINFULLY DELICIOUS! Get it, you will not regret it. Not too sweet but semi sweet even with the semi ripe mango - I need at least of three of those in my fridge 😜😜😁
Family owned with attentive staff and tasty food for very reasonable price. I was impressed with the quality of ingredients and flavor notes. One of my favorite places.
Absolutely delicious!!!

Service was pretty good. I asked for extra napkins and handed in the finished plates but found out they have a tray outside (they thanked us for helping them out though).
I had the Kao Soi. Kao Soi dish has a lot of texture in a bowl of noodle. Crispiness from the fried wonton strips, pickles mustard and red onions. Noodle is tender and not too soft. The smoothness from the coconut milk and the kick from the curry paste. I would recommend it to other if you are craving for Kao Soi which is not all Thai restaurants has.
Love their boat noodles here. I like this boat noodles a lot better than the one I had in Thai Town and no traffic too!
Simple and clean restaurant, located at the back corner of Pacific Shopping Center with plenty of parkings but can get busy on the weekend.
The Beef Boat noodle is really good, spicy level is medium to me, if you like less or more spicy do ask the staffs they are very friendly.

Is the taste authentic? this probably the first Thai restaurants beside the ones in Thai Town (LA), where you can see many Thai customers. Will come again for different dishes.
We tried curry noddles, boat noddles, mango sticky rice, dirty Thai tea. All are great, and staff are nice. Will revisit again to try more food here.
My lunch was filling but the flavors didn't initially hit me; the taste of my chicken rice soup is very bland and I think it's served like that on purpose to the point where it is actually healthy for you. The server handed us a spice rack with 4 options and that's when the flavors kicked in.
Their fried banana is so delicious OMG I want more of that! It is lightly battered with what mightve been sesame seeds (I could be wrong). That is definitely a must try.
I would also commend this restaurant for being so clean, it's so comfortable dining in.
Worth the wait when it's busy
This is my favorite restaurant! I take all my friends here. Everything on the menu is delicious, my go to is Kao Soi and mango sticky rice. But literally everything is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. the Jok, boat noodle soup, the omlets!! You have to go! On top of all the good food. The menu isnt overwhelming and its more traditional thai food. THE SERVICE IS THE BEST TOO! You're welcome in advance 😉
Kao Soi and Boat noodle are what I normally order here. In a hot day, I would also get a Thai tea with lime, no half/half cream (cha ma nao). I have been coming here for lunch about once a week for a few years now and the taste and quality have been consistent.
Love their mango sticky race
Coconut ice cream is a must here. Haven't had one bad thing on the menu yet, everything is delicious.
Update: Have tried the whole menu everything is still delicious.
The food here is phenomenal. I always get the curried noodles with chicken, the omelette with crab, and the mango sticky rice. Love it
One of my favorite resturants in LA. The curry is heavenly and has so much flavor. I would definitely recommend the green curry. The Thai iced tea is also excellent and compliments the meal. Finally, the portion sizes! They are nice and large making easy to have two meals with the curry.
Went there during lunch time, outdoor seating was available. Tried their Mango sticky rice with coconut sauce, flavor was good.
The Kao Soi curry here is one of the best curry dishes I've ever had. Superb hole-in-the wall eats. 5/5 will return for more.
One of the best restaurants in the South Bay! This is usually where I will take people when visiting.
Sweet Rice does so many things well and is very unique it many breakfast items. My personal favorite is the Jok, but my wife and I have tried nearly everything on the menu. The curries are great, the kao soi is great... But the area truly excelled is the desserts.
The coconut ice cream is so creamy and delicious, and has a great choice of toppings. The mango sticky rice is the absolute best! I have no idea how and where they get their mangos, but they are always so good! If I could, i would give Sweet Rice a 6 out of 5 stars!
Thai breakfast & dessert spot in Gardena. Came here to grab some dessert on a Thursday around 7:30 and there was no wait. There are outdoor tables available for sit-down. Parking is easy and available in a large lot. Credit cards are accepted. You pay first and then receive your food. There’s one single occupant restroom in the back. It’s a casual spot to have some tasty Thai food.
The coconut ice cream was sweet and you get a choice of three toppings. We opted for sticky rice (an extra 50 cents), mango, and coconut flakes, so the ice cream ended up tasting like a mango sticky rice (which was perfect because we were trying to decide between the ice cream and mango sticky rice). The serving size is good for two people (or for one particularly hungry person).
Best Thaifood near Torrance! Quick service and friendly staff! We ordered Kao Soi with chicken and basil omelette with crab. The omelette was kind of dry, but with curry from Kao Soi and mixed with rice and omelette, it was soooo good!! The mongo rice was also delicious, we packed it to go since the portions of the food were kind of large…
The Kao Soi here is excellent. I've had Kao Soi in Chiang Mai and it's comparable to this
Best Kao Soi in LA area. By far.
I thought this was a dessert place but after looking up what to eat, I saw they had a lot of food options! We came around 6 pm and got a table in the designated seating area outside. We ordered the boat noodle soup and I got the tom yum soup. They got the omlette and yellow curry. All the food came out super fast! It was delicious. The tom yummy soup had a lot of items in it so it was very filling. It had the tart savory flavor and the noodles were fresh. I enjoyed it very much. The boat soup broth was good and it had a lot of meat and meat items. Would definitely come back and try other dishes.
Best Thai dessert in the southbay
Big fan of their khao soi, beef noodles, sticky mango rice and thai tea! Placed an order for pick up and food was still prepared deliciously and warm. I often come here when im craving for noodles or soup! Def a good find.
excellent service, amazing food and the new owners are great! highly recommend!
great thai food that focuses on soup based noodles rather than your played out pad thai. the portion is generous with great pricing. i didn't have pleasure of trying their specialty mango sticky rice dessert because i was so full. definitely check this place out. it's tucked in the corner so way under-appreciated!
Amazing soup based meals, there is good reason that this place was on the Michelin Guide for California
I ate Kaosoi and Tomyum noodle. Perfect!
Great curry noodle and good desserts
Khao Soi is my favorite dish. Always on point with taste and friendly. 🙏🏼
Didn't expect this little place to not only be good, but friggin' legit. Boat noodles and mango sticky rice out of a to-go box isn't ideal, but it's well worth the trip.
Great soups and broth’s!. My favorite is the one Thang add noodles combination. The customer service is top notch, including the taste and freshness of each and every dish. Highly recommend it. The atmosphere is peaceful and the sitting area is ample, plenty of parking space at the center, and the restrooms are always kept clean. The desserts are made fresh daily including some of their holistic or natural beverages.
Everything is delicious!!!
I love Their Thai omlette. You got a choice of pork, shrimp, crab, or vege. The restaurant is clean. Call ahead so you don't wait since they get busy. Try their desserts.
Truly amazing food. The hype is legit.
Great place! Definitely a hidden gem!
The bad thing is they have internet and they don't let you used cmon we wait for about 1 hour. and a less llets used instill we sit in the tabletused the internet
Food was great along with service coconut ice cream is a must
While I’d selfishly like this to stay a hidden gem, I just have to give Sweet Rice the shout out it deserves. We’ve had the tom yum noodle soup, the kao soi, the coconut ice cream with peanuts and also with mango, sweet red beans, and lychee jelly. EVERYTHING is so good. It’s also nice to see various generations behind the counter, putting a lot of care and pride into their food. I love this place and hope they keep doing well. It’s been packed the times we’ve gone, as it should be.
Super delicioso
Coconut icecream is so delicious.
We’ve found a gem in Sweet Rice. This is one of those places where you know it’s good just by looking at the food. We had the shrimp rice soup, crab omelette, Jok, and shrimp wonton noodle soup. Everything was authentic and tasted excellent. The shrimp rice soup was fresh, plentiful, and hit the spot...there was plenty of large shrimp too. We also had mango sweet rice for dessert and it was the best we’ve ever had - the quality and tasted was top notch. Coming from NYC, there are plenty of Thai choices back home, but this was by far the best we’ve had. Definitely recommend if you are in the neighborhood, and if you are not, it’s worth the journey. Oh, we also went back for a coconut ice cream and Thai ice tea floats - the coconut ice cream with peanuts had a true coconut and rich flavor. The floats were awesome and also very delicious without the ice cream. Both were awesome dessert items.
Excellent Thai Street food
Good food and even better desserts! One of only a few places to get authentic thai desserts!
Yum!
This place sets itself apart from the usual Thai restaurants by focusing on Thai breakfast and noodle soups, as well as Thai desserts. Instead of pad thai and pad see ew, you can get tom yum ba mee, coconut curry, and porridge. All have a cozy homemade taste.
But my favorite discovery is their VEGAN coconut ice cream dessert bar! The ice cream is so velvety but dairy free so it doesn’t linger on your tongue. You can get it plain, with peanuts, or add toppings from their bar. And the toppings are actually unique like starfruit.
The mango sticky rice is also delicious!
The Khao Soi is pretty good and large. It's a little sweet and they use fried wonton shell instead of fried noodles for parts of the garnish. Would be better if they added more of it, even though I prefer fried noodles more. Service was good, inside is pretty clean. Fast casual type setup (order at register, food is delivered to table). Plenty of parking in the lot. Worth a try. Note that this place specializes in breakfast and desserts, doesn't have many stir fried dish options, if any.
I went here just for the ice cream. Found this place on Yelp and saw some photos so we decided quickly. Didn't realize they only have two deserts - sweet mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream.
The coconut ice cream was fantastic! I got the lychee jellies, palm seeds, and sticky rice (for an additional 79 cents). No regrets. It got a little rich towards the end since I got one for myself, and maybe 3/4 the serving would have been enough for me (but if I shared half with someone I would probably want a little more at the end...)
I will go back again for sure for more ice cream!
I finished all including soup. So good!
Comfort food done the right way. Curry had good body in flavor and texture. Jok was exactly what I wanted after a long day: warm and soothing, simple food with layered flavors
Lovely place, clean, well laid out and the coconut ice cream killed. Very friendly staff too, makes you feel very welcomed. Oh and the coconut ice cream killed if i didn't already said it. This plaza has a history of restaurants opening and closing quickly. I really hope this sweet rice stays.
A smaller cozy sister of Bow Thai just down the street. Good home style Thai Food. The Tom yum is genuine. Bowl Thai has been a favorite since they opened and Sweet Rice will be added to the top of my list. The coconut ice cream is top notch. Not too sweet and great with toppings. Try the chef recommendation of red bean, coconut gel and jackfruit. A taste of the tropics. For the non dairy crowd, the Thai tea with coconut ice cream is a refreshing alternative. Enjoy!
Seet rice with sweet service:) my wife wanted to have something to eat and we walk in here just to see what they have. Thai food:) yum. The rice noodle soup was amazing. Got to try the sticky rice and mango. Enjoy!
I like the beef noodle
Omg!!! I love this new place!!! Finally another amazing Thai restaurant around the area. Their desserts are so good especially the Mango Sticky Rice and the homemade Coconut Ice cream!! Must try and highly recommended!!
