Cozy Thai restaurant with plenty of parking serving ample portions of pad Thai, curries & more.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant...one that was surprisingly busy on a Wednesday afternoon. We had a short wait, but the weather was great, so we sat outdoors and enjoyed the sunshine.
We ordered some staples, like fried rice and pumpkin curry, a couple of dishes I had not heard of before (Nua Ob, a stewed beef) and Dancing Prawns skewers (prawns stuffed with crab) and a spicy Catfish. Everything was delicious, except for the dancing prawn. That was dry and inedible. I took one bit and wasted my portion.
Overall, we were quite happy.
My mother lives at Walnut Creek, and when I come to visit her.I'd like to take her out to lunch. She wanted Thai food this last visit. I came upon this little restaurant when searching for restaurants in the area. We were both pleasantly surprised. The food was clean and fresh and just enough. It was the sweetest little spot, very chill, perfect from me and Mama. It appeared to be a family owned local spot. I believe it was the daughter who served us, and she was very accommodating and kind. It appeared that she knew all the other patrons. They must have been regulars. We will definitely be going back!
The BEST Thai I have eaten in Ca. So fresh and tasty! I eat Thai a couple times a week. Keep trying new restaurants and always come back to Mai This! Fabulous food!
Excellent food and service. Husband loved the pad Thai; I enjoyed the drunk noodle the first time we went. More recently, husband tried yellow curry with beef and garlic rice, and I had pad see ew with beef. Both were excellent!
--
We went back for Valentine's Day. They gave me a gorgeous red rose! 🌹 Husband tried red curry with mixed seafood. He said the red is more flavorful and spicier than the yellow he had last time. I got drunken noodle with beef. We both ordered Thai iced tea for the first time. It was really good, but a little strong. We took the rest to go and diluted it with more tea at home. Husband's already planning on going back when we celebrate his birthday in a few weeks.
--
Husband chose Mai Thai 2 for birthday dinner:
*I loved Thai iced coffee
*Husband loves Thai iced tea
*Oldest daughter loved BBQ beef
*Kids got sticky rice. I liked it, but they weren't thrilled. It came in cute little baskets.
Staff was polite, and service was fast. This might be a good restaurant for someone who's new to Thai food or not used to eating spicy food. Because when the menu describes the dish as "mild", it really means mild.
We eat a lot of Thai food, so the taste didn't suit our palate--too sweet and not flavorful enough. We also found it very disappointing that the roast duck in the curry tasted stale.
Prices were kind of expensive, but portions were big. One curry dish would be big enough for about 2-3 people to share.
Overall, it looked like a decent place that's good for family and small group gathering. Would recommend avoid ordering less popular dishes, though, to ensure the food ingredients are more fresh.
OMFG... This place is by far my favorite Thai place! Beats any place in SF and NYC! Portions are sharable or enough for lunch the next day, even the Thai iced tea is big enough for two. The pineapple curry was not too spicy, tons of chicken and the flavor of the soup was perfect. The only complaint was the bench is very uncomfortable to sit on AND the bathroom is quite dirty compared to the rest of the restaurant. More then happy to return after the bathroom gets a new coat of paint or everything washed and update the comment.
Great experience

Consistently great food! I love the drunken noodles!
Super good thai food, highly recommend
I have to give this one a five, especially because they are the best restaurant near my home. Food is always good.
Very reasonably priced and great quality. Ample parking spaces.
New favorite Thai restaurant. Service was so great! I recommend getting their red curry with pork. Also the italian soda is very worth it
I came here for my anniversary and it was beyond beautiful and amazing. The food was fresh, tasty, and filling. Customer service is excellent and welcoming. I’m definitely returning it was lovely and delicious.
The good is excellent! You won't be disappointed with almost anything you order. Be sure to glance at the specials, they had BBQ platter special last time we went and it was a good deal, and the meats were savory!
Having been there many times, we know the ladies who work there are normally friendly and quick on service. I gave one star less because they recently have a young guy there who continuously is engrossed in his phone, causing us to have to remind him to bring drinks or additional food items we were waiting on. They need to do something about him. (But, I guess that may be part of the new normal with these young folks) Still, that one guy is but a bump in the road. Mai Thai 2 is a really good place to get some Thai food.
Mai Thai in Concord is one of our favorite MUST DO restaurants when eating out in this neighborhood. The food is exceptional - tasty, yummy, authentic and reasonably priced. The restaurant is warm and cozy. Today for lunch I had the sweet and sour catfish for the first time and enjoyed it thoroughly. Then I got a take home order of chicken cashew to take on the plane ride back to Dallas. Have been here many times with the wife, with friends and family and always find it to have been a great choice for lunch or dinner. UPDATE: Most recent visit we tried the appetizer platter and really enjoyed it. Would order that again.
Great place to enjoy time with friends and family

Delicious Thai food, one of the best in the bay. The lunch specials are great w generous portions.
Always very good food.
Wow. Just wow. This place is absolutely amazing. Super nice staff, and the environment is very inviting in my opinion. And the food is AMAZING. Recommend the appetizer imperial rolls and the entree drunken noodles.
Definitely recommend! The portions were great, they were quick to bring out little salads and waters, the prices were definitely affordable too. My kiddo also appreciated the Italian soda options. We tried the crab Rangoon, fried eggrolls, pad see ew and the pad Thai, all were very good and I’d order them again. They were all friendly and nice too. We will be back!
I absolutely love this place...
Warning: When they tell you it's spicy, they really mean it's SPICY. Not saying it's not awesome, just get prepared to have a little bit of the sweats.
With every penny and every napkin it takes to wipe your brow.
Very good curries, and the green sauce for the Crab Rangoon sets them apart
For lunch today, I selected the Basil Eggplant, opting for the dinner portion. To my delight, the serving size was remarkably GENEROUS and the flavor surpassed expectations in its delightful richness. Astonishingly, all this culinary bliss was acquired for a mere $12. Undoubtedly, it was the best eggplant I’ve ever had in a Thai establishment, leaving me eagerly anticipating my next visit.
The Thai spicy wings and Crab Rangoon were a standout for appetizers. The Pepper garlic pork chops were delicious as well as the BBQ beef plate. Servers were attentive and made the experience excellent for a first time guest to the restaurant
Great family run , phenomenal food & best Thai restaurant! So warm, kind & beautiful ambiance ! I love ❤️ grandpa’s cooking 🙏🙌🥰Namaste
There's a lot to like at this restaurant. All of the dishes are great. Service is great. At lunch time, they serve complimentary miniature salads with a peanut dressing that's delicious.
One thing to know to make your first visit smoother: they don't bring you the check. When you're ready to pay, you just go to the register. Not a big deal, just slightly unusual.
Love getting takeout from here for family Thai night. Their food is very good and the quality is very consistent. Plus their team is super nice, welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend you try them!
My wife and I just moved to Concord and surprisingly find this amazing Thai spot. Today we tried green curry and duck rice which are all really good. Will definitely come back to try more dishes
**Please learn from my mistake** With the cost of living in California hitting levels that are to frightening to think about, and we all have to shell out eight dollars for a cup of Amy's frozen Mac n cheese, I think "geez I might just SAVE some money if I get one entree from a restaurant." Twenty dollars later my mouth is full of red curry, and I regret it. The tofu tastes like it was marinated in soy sauce and deep fried! Weird salty curry and stale rice...or maybe it was freezer burned rice...? Anyway it crumbled. There was one small green pepper chunk, two chunks of rubbery, very undercooked eggplant, and about 100 soggy bamboo slices. Pretty heartbreaking for a twenty dollar meal cooked by professionals. I wish I had just bought apples & peanut butter, and called it a night. At least I would not feel like throwing up all that soggy, flapping, bamboo.😕
Very yami
Food is always delicious. Fair prices and great portions.
I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but the last few times I have come have put an end to that. The pad Thai is greasy, tofu makes me feel ill nearly immediately. The service consists of inexperienced children, all on their phones and avoiding checking on our table. The server today was a young woman, literally hiding behind the counter on her phone chatting with her boyfriend. She was so incredibly rude I couldn’t even believe it, practice some manners! The TV was playing SpongeBob, while the teenager servers laid their heads on the table. I will not be coming back, and wish the family who owns it well. It used to be a great spot.
Super friendly staff, great service, great food! Would definitely recommend.
They never answer.
Great restaurant highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Thai food.
A small cozy place. Food taste authentic Thai. The papaya salad is a must try and their red beef curry. Recommended spot if you are craving for asian Cuisine.
This was our first time and it was hot, beautiful presentation, and delicious. Thai beer was refreshing. The service was friendly and fast. The four of us dinning all enjoyed our dishes and will be back for sure.
Amazing home family owner place, tested like home cooked meals made with love
Amazing food !!! Staff is courteous and attentive. Their currys are awesome . I enjoy the intimate cozy feel to it and the way the food taste I can tell they take pride in their food . Awesome
Good food
Good service
The papaya salad was soggy and basic. The duck was the lunch portion, and it was small and over cooked. But it was nice of them to accommodate during dinner service. There was a sauce that came with it that was amazing. Not sure if it was for the duck or the side salad. Too many better Thai places to go back.
I used to drive to SF to try Thai food, this place is very good and nearby..
We come here whenever we want to eat something spicy, Specially like their thai hot spice level. I would say this is the best thai restaurant in this area around concord. Tried many other thai places, but came back here everytime. Don't miss their tom yam Kai soup at thai spice level.
Good food nice little place
Easy to become a regular.
Tasty, savory, fresh, delicious! Highly recommend it. Try their lemonade too!
Very casual. This is a family-owned business. The food is absolutely delicious the service is excellent and if you catch him early you will have a place to sit. It is pretty tight when it comes to wheelchair accessible. It is a little cozy but don't see it being a challenge. Plenty of parking. If you're looking for take out they seem to do a lot. you saw the movie Chocolat I would have to say this is one of my go-to's that reminds me of the decadent delicious taste of all the herbs and spices in Thai food. Prices are amazing. They serve beer and wine. Cheers!!🍺🍷
I love this Thai place! I came here with my family and I had been here before and knew the food was going to be delicious. We had the seafood Tom yum, beef pad see ew, fish cakes, chicken pad thai and kobocha pumpkin curry. We also had Thai tea. Mine was a hot version and it was delicious. We also ended our meal with fried banana ice cream. We had two orders, one with green tea and the other with mango ice cream!
I was feeling like Thai food since I haven't had it in a while. I looked up Thai restaurants that were close by since I didn't feel like driving all the way to Pleasant Hill to my usual Thai place. This one had the simple items that I wanted compared to the Thai restaurant across the street. I scanned the menu for a go to.
I have a couple of things that I order when I get Thai food and I thought the simplest is ordering Pad See Ew. I ordered it and had chicken as the meat. I tried it and thought it was good. The chicken was a bit dry so next time I think I'll get beef. Noodles were good and the vegetables are good.
The pot stickers had a mustard flavor and that was a little strange. I didn't expect it to be sauced up. I guess I'm used to Chinese pot stickers pan fried.
Overall, I think I would come back and order something else. Maybe try a curry or some salad.
Good find Thai food located in Concord Clayton Road
Muy buela comida
WHO CLOSES AT 8PM ON A FRI?
Fantastic selection of Thai dishes. Really fast service. Delicious food in large quantities.
If you are into Thai food, don't miss this little gem!!
Wish I had taken pics of my food but regardless this place completely changed my mind about trying food I'm not use to, I just so happened to ask my wife did she want lunch we stopped here and were blown away by how clean and ambient the establishment was not to mention food was beyond excellent I will be returning after a few more woods lol
Great Thai food flavors and beautiful presentation in Concord! Friendly staff, clean cute establishment. Sure wish this place was in my city!
Great food! Price is very reasonable, highly recommended
My girl Je took me here! It was a tiny little cozy place to have lunch. Large portions, for sure! Presentation was excellent, and they give u a little salad as an appetizer, while you order. The people's there were nice, and the people across the table from us ordered something that was brought in a HUGE bowl you could probably bathe in!! I'm telling you, large portions indeed. 😁 Too bad I was too busy eating their tasty offerings that I forgot to take pics.... I guess I must go again. I'm doing this for YOU. 😂😂
The best Drunken Noodles. I usually order it with shrimp and chicken combo. Nice and spice with a hint of sweetness. I love it.
Limited parking. Friendly and fast service. Food specials. Food was ok.
Excellent Food!!! Will go back definitely!
Best in town.
It's ok ...... Americanized watered down
Hands down the best Thai food around. I've been to pretty much every local spot with my GF and this one's just simply the best. We usually get pad Thai and pineapple fried rice with some Thai iced teas. They can make it spicy and we get hot but if you want really hot get the Thai hot. If you don't like spicy even the medium will be to much for you most likely. CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!!
Food with amazing flavors. Cool staff too.
Husband and I tried this restaurant. We ordered BBQ Platter (includes chicken, pork, and beef), we liked it except the bbq beef are so tough and it was so hard to chew, we also order Seafood Pai Thai but not the taste we were looking for (too sweet for me).
Great food
Love the shirmp pad thai
Our party of 2 got the BBQ special & a curry dish beverages. Both were execellent.
Small joint with great food. I have always been a huge fan of Thai food. This place does justify Thai taste. Ordered Spicy Thai Fried rice with Chicken (Thai HOT) & Iced Coffee. Both tasted great and would definitely revisit.
Serving portions are good, prices are reasonable. FYI - They are not serving any tap water. ONLY BOTTLED WATER.
I love their yellow curry! Yummy food, great service!
First time trying this place and I am from outta town. Really a delightful place. Food was prepared quickly and was hot enough still to eat without having to warm up too much. Ordered the seafood soup, chicken pad Thai, seafood salad, fish fillet with extra garlic and of course Thai ice tea. I must say Deliciousness!!! Everything was tasty and fresh. Now I only gave them 4 starts not due to quality or flavor of food. I thought portions could be slightly more. But over all great place to get your Thai food fix!!!
The Best Thai food in the Area . Always friendly and curtius. Prices are right.A five star a around.
I've been coming to Mai Ta the past 5 years n I enjoyed eating here. The food is fresh n service is great!!! Parking is easy n there is plenty of room for inside seating!!
Oh my God I had there Tom Yum seafood soup I almost passed out it was so good sorry for children but it makes you so happy afterwards there's no problems in the bedroom
Long time favorite. Pad Thai, Pad See Ew are consistently delicious!
Food always great and the service excellent.👏👏👏
Just a bit of waiting.
If you are lookin for the best thai food and great service to go with it?! Thus is the place. I love it. My first time there and many more to come...
I've been coming here for years. The food is always delicious, best thai tea (when ordering to-go you can order medium or large) in my opinion since I've been to places that make it different every time. It's consistent here and all employees have always been so friendly and kind.
Hit and miss service but the curry is killer good. Highly recommend this place if you want to try a new Thai place.
Food was very tasty. Each dish tasted very good. The flavors were clean and unique to each dish. Highly reccomend in concord.
Excellent quick!
The place is small inside but the food is good!
My favorite Thai food in the area. Everytime my kids visit from So Cal that want to eat here.
Delicious food-fantastic service.
Don't let the size fool you. Food and service was great.
Nice food, good service!!!
I love it . Spicy and delicious😋😋😋😋
Good food, friendly staff and reasonable prices.
A bit pricey but the food makesup for the price
Delicious jasmine tea, house fried rice and glass noodle dishes! Would highly recommend. Very friendly service, as well
Wonderful ambiance
Too expensive for what you get.
Great food and amazing service
Great food and great service!
Fabulous. Fast. Wonderful service, nice people. I love the name too.
I am going to caution you just a bit... I asked for Thai spicy...which was wonderful but I was sweating half way through lunch.
It was hot but very tasty...
The lunch menu was robust and fabulous.
Lots of dishes to try.
We ordered 3 different dishes, Mine was spectacular...and the others looked yummy.
I will try different dishes when I go back but I think the next time I'm going to dial back the heat 🔥 just a little bit! 😉
Go! They are awesome!
I enjoyed the food as extremely suited for the asian food flavors of home.
The Drunken Noodles are ridiculously good... They keep us coming back again and again. One of our favorite local eateries.
Food was excellent and the wait staff was polite and helpful to my 84 year old mother.
Way to small but good food
OMFG... This place is by far my favorite Thai place! Beats any place in SF and NYC! Portions are sharable or enough for lunch the next day, even the Thai iced tea is big enough for two. Consistently good Thai food, and friendly staff.
So far what I've ordered. Its decent not bad nor stunning, but decent
So yummy! I recommend the yellow curry and tofu pad Thai
Best Thai restaurant I've ever tried! I've been to dozens!
Great food. There was a small roach crawling on the floor next to my seat. The food was great so only minus one star
Good
The food and service is excellent. Plenty of flavor. Nice intimate place to dine. I will definitely be back soon.
I have been to many many Thai restaurants and nothing compares to Mai Thai. Once you go you'll never try another place! It's that good and you'll end up getting more than you need so you can eat the leftovers at home or on the way home! Go ahead try it you'll love it
Great food. I like the panang Curry.
It was good. Great service. Enjoy the food
This place was fantastic! I especially liked the chicken pad lemongrass and the pork pad Ginger. It's small and busy, but totally worth the wait! Definitely making this a regular dining spot!
Delicious food
First time there and it was great! The owners im assuming were very nice and attentive and the food was amazing and prices were great. I will go back soon and i do recommend this place to others. Thanks My Thai 2 crew!
Tom kha with seafood and pumpkin curry were both tasted amazing. Pumpkin curry was a little runny.
Delicious garlic rice. Clean and quaint restaurant
Ask for theyre tai tea
The food is ok but become pricier on weekends for some weird reasons . I am talking about lunch and not dinner. Beware of this policy which is very disappointing .
The calamari wasn't made of squid - it was cuttlefish, so it wasn't as good as it should've been. The servers kept staring, but never once came to check on us. The server brought my check, and I put my debit card on and slid it over, but she waited 3 minutes to come back to charge me. When she came back, she grabbed the card and went to take an order for another customer. Needless to say, no gratuity was given.
Excellent food, friendly staff. Love coming here to get my Thai fix.
Good food, fast service, cozy setting.
