Happy Garden is a fantastic Chinese restaurant with truly excellent food! Every dish we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were generous, and the flavors were authentic, from the savory stir-fries to the rich, comforting soups. The service was quick and friendly, making the dining experience even better. If you’re craving delicious Chinese cuisine, Happy Garden is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

Once I got home and began eating, I noticed right away the orange chicken was extremely dry and hard to chew and the chicken fried rice had cubes of chicken that was still raw in the center. I was very disappointed. Their prices have raised but quality has gone way down. I tried calling them before closing but couldn’t get anyone to answer.

I used to like this place, but will not be returning. I ordered Pla Goong salad (shrimp salad). It was good as usual. Also, asked to place an order to go, but didn't want it until I was near leaving. Sure enough, I started eating my salad and they placed to-go bags on table. My family had COLD food when I got home!

They have no sense! I go there about two times a year and they ALWAYS have problems with their computer check out. Luckily I had cash.

When I got home, Lamb Curry was full of oil, very sweet, and mostly potatoes and carrots, barely any lamb! Also, Mongolian Beef was greasy and tastless; House Chow Mein, greasy and barely any meats ("House" means all meats added), two prawns, and chicken (I think) was hard cubes!

Food is good, their chicken wings are the best I've ever had in my life with the jalapenos and stuff on them. Their chowmein is not my favorite and they seem to give smaller portions than other restaurants but a lot of their food is very good.

I’m not sure but I think there is MSG in my Broccoli Beef & sauce & steamed rice i never had this happen to me before. My husband and I treated our son, daughter in law & granddaughter to lunch today. I have never had my heart start beating fast well today my heart feel like it is going to come out of my chest.
We went o dinner 1/24/2025 with an out of town relative and the food was good, but I don’t know why this is the 3rd time that the food has given me issues of diarrhea 5 hours after, food poisoning 2 days. I think it is the type of oils they use.

Always a favorite in Lake County is Happy Garden. The BEST food and super nice staff. People come from near and far to eat here.

Yas !! Happy Saturday and happy garden for my weekend dinner. Tried the yellow curry lamb, garlic spinach and the usual. Egg foo young combo, veggie chow mein , kung pos shrimp and snow pea with mushrooms. Listen coming from the Bay Area. This place DOESN'T disappoint.

Happy Garden Bar & Restaurant is not closed as TA would have you believe. Either that or I have lost my mind (always a possibility). It is in Clearlake Oaks.

The place is super cute and very comfortable. The service is wonderful. They can help you with the menu if you need. They also have a full bar which gets some attention. You can dine there, get take away or delivery.

This is traditional Chinese food at super good prices.

We loved everything we had. We started with egg rolls, which were crispy and yummy and moved onto Thai style chicken satay. We loved the peanut sauce it came with. Their seafood with bean cake soup was so amazing, be careful it comes hot.

For our mains we love shrimp so we tried several. The sweet and sour shrimp was very good, but not our favorite. We loved the shrimp with vegetables and the prawns with a wonderful lobster sauce. It all comes for sharing.

Their shrimp fried rice was perfect and we had white rice as well, not dry at all.

You will love this place.

Got there at 9,they close at 9:30,was kinda rushed to order so they could clean up kitchen,food came out faar and staff was mostly pleasent.

It's probably the best Chinese food You're going to find around Clearlake

We drove 45 minutes to get to this restaurant. When we walked in the clueless Asian hostess said they are closing early and we couldn't be seated. IT WAS 45 MINUTES BEFORE THEIR CLOSE TIME OF 9:30 PM. Needless to say we were upset. Finally another Asian woman came over and told us to please take a seat and they would serve us. This was needless aggravation. My wife's Moo Shu chicken was good. My Pad Thai was not at all good. The sauce didn't taste like tamarind sauce and instead of using traditional thin pieces of fried chicken, they used large pieces of Chinese style corn starch marinated chicken which tasted very odd in this Thai dish.

I asked about the gluten status of some of their dishes and they didn't seem to understand what I was asking and did not have much useful information. I decided to risk it anyway because there are no other ethnic restaurants in the entire area and it was late at night.

So I would assume this is really a Chinese restaurant with Chinese chefs and they just "wing-it" when it comes to Thai food.

Happy garden has become a go-to place for a nice lunch a couple of drinks just a good time visiting with friends the place is always clean it's never been overly busy that I can remember we usually sit on the bar side where Simone is the bartenders is an absolute doll she is efficient and quick and personable and I have been here off and on for about 5 years this is one of my favorite places to eat the food is outstanding

Best food joint in Lake County Calidornia to he honest. Always friendly and timely service even when they are busy. As for something like chopsticks and you get it quick. Call and place on order, less than five minutes. Super flavorful and always perfect. I reckoned hot and sour soup and curry... and almost everything else. It won't disappoint no matter what you order.

Food is consistently fantastic

I’ve ate there on numerous occasions and have always found the food to be excellent. Their Salt and Pepper Shrimp or Chicken is really good. The Egg Foo Young is fantastic but if they’re busy they won’t make it. Moo shu pork is another favorite. If there’s a better Oriental Restaurant in Lake County it has eluded me for 45 years.

Good food...I really like the food. A few things that bugged me. We ordered white rice and friend rice. They charged a per person charge for white rice ( which is normally free), so I ended up paying more for the white rice than I did for a similar amount of fried rice. And then they added an 18% gratuity to the bill and then wanted an additional tip. I felt like they were trying to make a little too much on their services.

this place was great. i had the honey walnut shrimp and the thai ice tea. tasted great. i asked for chopsticks and never got them but screw chopsticks anyway! who wants to eat with two dirty pieces of bamboo? thank you happy garden for showing me that chopsticks are stupid.

I went with medium-sized expectations. Services was a bit slow but they had a lot going on so I give them credit. The food though. We ordered chicken satay and it was unedible. It was clear and tasted like rubber. Maybe heated too much chicken or not chicken at all. Same with general chicken main dish. That ain't chicken guys. I took leftovers to my 16 year old..he smelled it and then got sick, said it smelled horrible. .he eats everything. I hate giving negative reviews however this is food poison resturant. Also there was a small bug in my Thai ice tea. I'm trying to pretend that did not happen.

Don’t order the spare ribs, we did and I expected it to be in sauce of some sort but it was breaded and fried, so you can’t cut off the fat you just get a random bite of fat. The egg rolls and wontons were amazing, the cashew chicken was good and the soup was really good too. I felt like the waitresses were giving my family dirty looks so it wasn’t very comfortable to eat and we left as soon as we could. Most of the food was good though so I may order take out next time. Thank you happy garden for your business and time.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE This hole in the wall is exactly that, worst potstickers -undercooked, looked and tasted like bao buns,rice was so dry soy sauce couldn’t even help it ,the Thai iced tea tasted like expired milk! Honk king or Asian dragon is Lakeport is a better local place!! The atmosphere felt like a dirty dungeon highly don’t recommend if you enjoy good service,the waitress hardly checked on our table gave us the wrong condiments and was incredibly unhelpful had to ask for the bill myself don’t waste your time or money here total waste!

The chicken and pork are made from scratch . They are not the same breaded round frozen bag pieces I see at almost every Chinese restaurant. I have been to Happy Garden many times and have never been disappointed with the food. The orange chicken is unique and spicy a must have.

The food has changed a lot. Does not taste the same, the meat seems to be all the same just different flavor. Very chewy, It really affected my whole family's stomachs, we will never order take out from them again. My mom was sick for 2 days after their food. Make sure you check your food that you order b4 you leave because I drove a bit to get there, got home missing something And had to drive all the way back there just to get that one thing. Very expensive for nasty tasting food. DONT ORDER TAKE OUT!! I've never tried to eat there. It looked like people were happy eating the food there but once you take it home I think they send different food out when it's leaving the door.

Delicious! Just called and ordered pick up. Was ready as soon as I got there. Also hanging at the bar is the best. Super appreciate the regular bartender. Can't remember her name...but her started with an L and she is the best. Hanging at the bar and taking out is both great.

Lunch special is were it is at. You get soup, egg roll, your choice of fried rice or steam rice, and a selection of main dish. A lunch for two will run me an average of $20. Good food!
