Thai favorites & specialty cocktails served in a refined modern space with outdoor seating.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Thai restaurant and I must say, it left quite an impression. Walking into the restaurant, I immediately noticed how clean and tidy everything was, which set a positive tone for the meal.
While the service was decent, it was the food that truly stole the show. Every dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing the authenticity and skill of the chefs. From the aromatic curries to the perfectly balanced spring rolls, each bite was a delightful journey for the taste buds.
Overall, my experience here was one to remember. The amazing flavors and inviting atmosphere have left me eager to return and explore more of their menu. If you're craving delicious and authentic Thai cuisine, look no further. I'll definitely be back for more!
Went here for dinner the other night. It is a nice place.
It's your standard Thai family style restaurant. You can order plates to Share and they have lunches specials too. The portions are not enormous, but getting 2 or 3 items will feed 4 easily. If you are looking for giant portions this isn't your place then. They also have some good appetizers too.
The selection is , for most items, pick what you want and then select your meat option to go with it. They offer Tofu and just vegetables too. So you can actually order the same thing and just get a different meat so it's a new flavor. I Got the Cashew Nut & Dried Chili with Chicken, the Drunken Rice with Chicken and the Glass Noodles Salad. It was all really good and filling. You can really get a lot of different items to mix and match.
As for drinks you will be able to get Water, Soda and Teas. I know they had beer, but wasn't really looking to see what other Alcohol they had.
Overall it was a nice place and the staff was very friendly. It was a little slow but not so much that your waiting a very long time, but be patient as they are a small staff, which is pretty typical for a shop like this. . They also have to go orders and order ahead, so that is always an option for you too. I will be coming back.
This food really sucked! Being a Chef and loving good Thai food I was very disappointed. Over cooked fish, nasty noodles, icebergs lettuce, gross stuffed mushrooms. Good Drunken Fried Rice with too much salt!
This place is nice & the area is great but the food sucks! It's made for bland people. I've been to some great Thai places like Ayara and King Thai, but this was horrible! What a waste of $200 foe our party!
Food has no seasoning. No Thai Basil. Served fast, yet warm, not hot. No sear on veg, protein, or noodles. Swimming in sauce. Leaving food unfinished. First time. I never imagined Thai food so bad with so much competition in the area. Pad See Ew with shrimp and Crispy Noodle with veg. Nice to ask if we wanted vegan or were ok with fish sauce (we said yes to include fish sauce). None of these flavors evident. Plus, it was all overly sweet. A lot of added sugar like the recipes were throwbacks to the 1970s.
the menu is so massive but each item remains delicious. If you're in the area, definitely worth a try.

Been going to Bua Thai 2-3 per week for the past 3 years. The food is always delicious and great value. This restaurant is such a gem and I could not recommend it more.
The food was very good. It was a quiet early evening and the service was excellent.
Loved the thai chicken curry very tasty!!!
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Highly recommended!
I’ve been wanting to come here for years. Finally my wife and I stopped here on the way home and glad we did. Very friendly service. Fantastic food. And I dig the chill and inviting atmosphere. Will definitely be back. The Panang Curry is highly recommended.
The food was pretty good, but they had an attitude. We were a party of two, it wasn’t busy so we asked for one of the bigger tables in the patio. They said no because they might need it. We understood so we left it alone. But later on during our meal, they sat two ladies at a bigger table and when we left it was just them two. It was a bit irritating.
Then we ordered Thai iced coffee but they brought out iced tea. When we brought this to their attention, they apologized and didn’t bother to fix their mistake, so we paid for the drink and left. We wanted to order dessert but cancelled since it rubbed us the wrong way.
This is one of my favorites places to eat in Poway. Food is delicious and fresh. Highly recommended.
Everything was so great! I can’t count how many times I said “mmmm 😋.” The Tom yum and Tom car soups were so flavorful and appetizing (10/10). The green curry had a nice kick to it and the chicken was well cooked (7/10 - watery, and lacked that intense green curry flavor but had an excellent hint of lemongrass. Also a drawback was that they did not sell rice with the curry and charged extra for rice which was a little dry). The Thai iced tea was a great way to wash down the spice. The service was fast and attentive and our waiter was very nice. I definitely recommend coming here!
Unfortunately, there is no cocktail menu. They had a ton of mocktails but no cocktails!! They only served beer and wine and did not allow wine sampling. Of their two wine options, the cab sauv was mediocre.
Overall, everything was very well priced. Keep in mind, they do not accept American Express.
Fast service, servers constantly checked in on our food and great food
The salmon we ordered smelled like it was expired. When we told the manager she gave us attitude. Won't be going back there again

I've been going for years. I am in the Pasadena area, and for great Thai, when I drive to Claremont, I go here.
Rad na had way too much carrots. Was decent but have better many times. Fried rice plates were fire! Spring rolls good. My noodles would not draw me back. if I return, fried rice for sure.
The food and service at Bua was so good!! We ordered a few dishes to share and everything was delicious. I just appreciate how kind they were. We were there during their pre-dinner prep time and yet they were so cordial. We will definitely be back.
Visited Dec. 1st 2023, ordered 5 dishes but only ate 3. First of all they took aver 30 minutes just to bring the only 3 dishes (Egg noodles) and the restaurant was not even full to take this amount of time. The taste was amazing so I love the food. I was waiting for the other 2 dishes (duck and curry) but never arrived so I asked the servers and they had no idea. Then they told me they forgot and If i wanted to wait longer for the food. I then said no and left the place still hungry. The food is good but they need to focus.
Place was good and great ambience. Pretty affordable as well. $30 for 2 people
Terrible customer service place was empty 2 couples and we waited long for just water also by the time food came the food was very bland and meats and poultry taste the same quantity portion is ok would not recommend
Love the lunch specials. Such a great deal.
Love this place. Our go to for Thai. Highly recommend the pork spare ribs.
Sush a great place to have lunch. The food will not disappoint.
Chow mein was good but not amazing. The deep fried spring rolls were great though
Everything is too sweet, especially the Thai tea, and even the stuffed mushroom. Pad see ew is okay, but still, you can clearly taste the sweetness that push you away from enjoying other seasoning.
Came here today to celebrate my friend's birthday and mine.
Huge disappointment!
The water was the first thing I noticed. It had an old off taste. We both ordered from the lunch specials. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai which was ridiculously sweet and lukewarm. The salad was very bland, and the steamed vegetable were literally teetering cold. My friend had the same experience but also complained (to me) that her brown rice was cold. My ŵhite rice was okay. I will not return!
I don't know why I would bother but I took the left overs home and my husband took a bite of the Pad Thai and said it was awful!
Very decent foods, good service, good place to eat if you want to try something new

Nice, quiet Thai place with rather better food than most in the price range. Most selections available in a variety of options: pork, shrimp, chicken, beef, tofu; and a variety of spice levels. Over all, a cut above food quality at the price. Particular winners were Beef Green Curry, Medium Hot, Tom Ka Kai soup, medium, larb salad in beef or pork.
Service was quick and competent.
We went here for a late lunch hungry and tired. We were not disappointed. Both the food and the service were excellent. 👍🏼👍🏼
We always love this place. Food safe for GF, and very tasty! The service is on top of things. Wait time is great.
BEST THAI FOOD IN THE AREA!!!!!! BEST PAD THAI at $12.95 is a STEAL!!!! love love love
Delay my order! 30 minutes
My mother and I used to come here all the time! I love the food and the service is great. Not horribly priced either
Great ambiance and tasty food.
Delicious food, friendly staff, and a wonderful dinning experience
Delicious food, great prices, and excellent service. My go to Thai spot. They have a nice indoor and outdoor seating.
Always large serving and very delicious highly recommended!
Great food !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent food, service and prices in a relaxed atmosphere.

We had yellow curry, pineapple fried rice and beef sate. It was all amazing. Great food!!
Nice ambience
Busy location
Clean
Friendly staff
Have visited visited location several times completing Doordash orders.
May return on personal time.
First of all, the prices at Bua Thai are some of the best I've ever seen. This is pretty impressive because not only is their food affordable, but they also provide bigger portions than a lot of places I've been to AND their food (at least the pad see ew) is delicious! I'm really looking forward to going back and trying the Pad Thai.
Fantastic food, wonderful staff, very nice environment. Top notch Thai!
wonderful place, lovely vibe and very nice staff. red cury good
Service was outstanding! Food was wonderful. Great dining experience especially outside.
Very nice service. Food was great.
Poor ladies are seriously short staffed. However, the Tom kha soup is to die for! The only recommendation would be to install some acoustic absorption panels. There wasn't even a huge crowd last night, and the sound was still extremely loud.
We always order Bua noodles and yellow curry chicken. We just love it.one of these day we are going to order something different. 😁
Service could be better. Ordered take out, 2 orders amd only got one. It was delicious but we had to share instead of having our own.
Honestly some of the worst service I have ever had to deal with…
I waited 20 minutes to be seen once I was seated, I actually had to flag someone down. After that we waited over an hour for our food. It wasn’t even busy tonight. Overall appears to be a horribly mismanaged restaurant with no regard for the customer.
Maybe try it for take out, but dining in is not a good option.
Please get your stuff together now. This is not an establishment in its current condition. You cannot do this, learn how to manage your place before you open your doors.
We are also not the only table experiencing this just so you know.
Service was great.....the chicken in our dishes was dry.
Service was good, but the food tastes like it is catered to an American palette (very sweet, like extremely sweet, and not sour or spicy). If you are used to eating more authentic Asian food in 626 or OC just manage your expectations. I got pad Thai lunch special and it was extremely sweet and had a bright red color. It came with an iceberg lettuce salad with an also sweet mayo dressing.
My husband and I went to dinner with a couple friends this evening. This was the first time we have eaten at Bua, and everything everyone ordered was fantastic. I had a fried rice dish with beef , with a sauce and it was the best fried rice I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere is very pretty and the prices are very reasonable. One of our friends enjoyed the food , atmosphere, service so much that he asked for a card. My husband and I go out to dinner with him frequently and we’ve never seen our friend ask for a card, so I know he enjoyed the food , service and atmosphere, as we did.
Excelente servicio muy buena su comida atención muy rápida muy limpio el lugar
Great, tasty and authentic Thai food at a reasonable price.
I love Thai food. But I'm sorry this spot wasn't it. Ordered the chicken sate with peanut sauce. The chicken was like rubber and peanut sauce was runny. I also order chicken fried rice but they barely put any chicken in the fried rice. Had to add chili paste and powder to add flavoring. The pad see ewe was probably the closest thing to par. It was my first time ever having it with carrots. If you guys haven't... go check out Sanamluang down the street.
I keep coming back to this restaurant for dates, dinners with friends, and meals with my family. The food is DELICIOUS and the menu offers a wide variety. The ambiance inside and outside is really nice— if you have a group coming to eat, call and make reservations! The staff are wonderful and helpful. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat in downtown Claremont.
Good service and food short waiting time professional staff .
Ate dinner with my parents here before heading back to school. The service was wonderful! Food came out super quickly and was great! Pork Bua Thai Fried Rice, chicken phad Thai, chicken satay and bua thong were all 10/10!
Bua Thai is definitely my favorite Thai restaurant. Been here many times and the food is always great. Staff are very nice and accommodating. Meals come out quickly and portions are quite large for the price. Clean and natural interior with a nice patio. Would recommend!
Completely messed up my order and then told me that I could drive back 30 min in the rain to exchange it for what I originally ordered or I was out of luck. Unless you like mediocre food, your order messed up and terrible/rude service. I would not recommend. *DO NOT PATRON*
I had the Tom Yum Pak veggie soup.
Way, way salty.
I hope they can bring the sodium down about 70%. Truly.
Best wishes.
the tomkar soup was soooo sour here. And it’s so different with other Thai restaurants. If you like sour one this is good for you.
The food ambiance is always good. Wish they had a appetizer platter sampler that wasn't fried.
For our first time there everything we ordered was delicious
Nice and clean, foods is ok, not enough taste, little pricey, services kinda slow, not enough staff
Phad Thai was yummy and not too oily. Got mine with extra fried egg. Good quantity plenty for lunch tomorrow. Nice location in claremont village
Great Food and Great service
It was good and the price to !
Good food. Nice outside seating. Excellent waitperson
It's pretty expensive and the quality doesn't really match the price, but I was able to eat several meals off of the leftovers
Food was fairly good but the duck breast meat was overcooked. Mushroom appetizer was excellent as was the soup with coconut milk. Food came too rapidly and crowded the table. I do plan to eat there again. Prices were modest for what you get and the location was great.
I live in Denver, looked up the number for "Bua" - called in an order by mistake to this Bua and the person who took my order was very gracious in understanding my mistake and wouldn't take even partial payment. You guys are fortunate to not only have what I imagine must be excellent food, but excellent people running this business!!
Nice Thai restaurant with a great selection on the menu. Patio seating is also available.
We shared an appetizer and a stir-fry dish with brown rice added. Plenty of food especially after lunch at Cafe X20. Service was fast, servers were polite. They offer vegan options for food and sauces. Our mean was very tasty.
Horrible customer service, never coming back. Food wasn’t good or worth the service.
Yummy Thai foods.
We ordered a salmon with no sauce for my 6 year old- they bring the salmon out covered with sauce - the server took it back and instead of a new salmon they threw that one on the grill and just burned the sauce off. It was dry and hard.
Great pad thai! Would return!
I always go here 24/7 since I was 12. It’s very good and tasteful with reasonable prices. The bua ice cream is one of the best ice creams! Also, the chow mein is simple yet very tasteful. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with the dish you choose! (FYI they do put a lot of mushrooms in most of their dishes. I love them tho 😋).
Good food
The best Thai food ! The bbq spare ribs and the beef and chicken sate are favorites to eat here. The glass noodle salad is the best I've eaten compared to other Thai restaurants. Service is good! Owners are great! The whole family loves this place!!!!
Really fantastic Thai food. We can vouch for the Pad Kee Mao, Pad See Ew, Drunken Fried Rice, and Eggplant Tofu. Definitely at the top 5 of Thai restaurants that I've eaten at.
When they go low ... we go Thai.
very cool, lunch special 10 bucks
The food is very tasty and delicious!
Service is also very good.
Rock on Bua
Food was awesome, seafood was cooked perfectly. Heat was balanced with the whole meal. Will go again.
Giving it a 5 for cleanliness , timeliness with my order and overall pretty good Pad Thai- the prices are very reasonable considering the prominent area - will come again, but in the evening on my next visit as this is a great and affordable place for a group
The person who took my order was very nice, the shrimp and broccoli with lobster sauce with not good at all it did not taste like lobster sauce. The broccoli was not fresh the sauce had a little Tang to it.
The fried rice with chicken was okay I have had Thai food off and on for years this was the worst I've had for me.
This was my personal rating your experience may be different from my's. I just wanted to be fair.
Good, flavorful Tai food at reasonable prices. Don't miss the wonton soup, and the chicken chow mein.
Good food
Great Thai food, yum
One of my favorite thai food restaurants in Claremont. Love this place
Food was fresh and delicious
Had the sweet and sour stir fy tasted very fresh.
Pineapple Fried Rice is the best value
Really fresh and tasty food. Consistent. Full menu. Willing to change your order if you aren't satisfied with what you order. Huge portions and enough to take home.
Great food. Great location. The 🍍 fried rice is always the best and the food is like Oma made it. Staff is fast and friendly and a plus it is in downtown to walk it off.
Food just delicious
Great lunch menu. Black pepper chicken and great service
]loved the fried rice.
Decent food, marginal service - strange vibes
