60 yrs living in or near L.A. dining on excellent American & ethnic type cuisine Indian, Chinese, Iranian, German, Mexican, thai etc. Many, many places here in BAKO claim good food, with good reviews & the food is 3rd rate. I'm tired of eating crappie food @ regular- hi prices. But Thai house has some of the best food I've had here. sad they charge so much for egg rolls because they're really cheap to make, but they are so good I'll have to get them with every order.
I take back what I said above they cheapened up the wontons in the wonton soup, they have no flavor it's just a ball of dough can't see or taste the wonderful meat that used to be in them the broth isn't tasty anymore they cheapened up their over prices egg rolls too just like so many Bakersfield restaurants so sad I won't be back

First time there, and it was perfectly fine, but not fantastic. Texture of the chicken satay was odd. I don't think we got the correct curry. We ordered just the red, but got one with pineapple. Also, only one type of beer, small bottles of Singha for $7 is a bit much. But our food came quickly and staff was friendly and attentive.

Geto service, must of been hired off the streets. As I walked in the help was eating at a table. (I didn't mean to disturb them but it sure felt like it from their stare).Food is not that good for the money. Overpriced; I was waiting to order more food and both waiters were behind the register talking about their lives looking at me from far as I was trying to get their attention to order more food pointing at the menu and they were ignoring me. The food is truly authentic and delicious - my family and I had the fried rice and the pad Thai and LOVED IT! We’ve lived in Thailand so it was fantastic to get authentic flavors at this restaurant.

We tried Tom yum soup and it was pretty refreshing and tasty, a dish to order again.

Yummy Thai food. Restaurant was tastefully decorated. Portions were big and filling we ordered the Panang Curry, Green Curry, Red Curry and Pad Thai noodles. We have a peanut allergy in the group and they were careful with our food.

Not as good as it could have been

Worse Thai restaurants service v had. V asked for an extra plate n spoon but they refused. It was freezing cold n windy out side. They could see us as v we’re knocking the door to come in. Time was about 4/5 pm. Very cold. They saw us but never bothered to let us in for curtsey sake. Food is ok. They lost my business for good I come all the way from shafter. Big attitude with service too. No no no

Dishonest practices don’t fly with me. I looked up their menu using their website listed here on Google. I placed my order for pick up using the number listed on said website. When I got there to pick up my food the prices for everything were slightly higher for every item. I can totally understand the need to raise prices. But when I mentioned their prices were different they said they don’t have a website. Needless to say I won’t be going here again. If they can lie about not having a website what else are they lying about?

We got the drunken noodles and peanut sauce vermicelli. Good stuff!

Amazing green curry with tofu!

Passing through Bakersfield and wanted to have a late lunch before heading to hotel. Decided to give them a try. We don’t do a lot of Thai food typically so we asked some questions and our server answered them kindly.
We ordered the Chicken and vegetables in garlic sauce and the Gai Kau. Both were delicious. Lightly flavored, but still flavorful! Plenty of food (and we were hungry!!) service was great too. We’ve been traveling for the past 4 days, and both agreed it was the best meal we’ve had!

Service is quick and has good atmosphere. The pad thai was mostly sweet and not much else. The curry fried rice was great, though. Good price for portion.

Just a simple small restaurant. Im kind a disappointed with pork Pad Thai noddles. As soon as you put in your mouth the sugar is over powering. Never taste a Pad Thai that sweet. And the pork is chewy. I love sweet but this is too much. The tofu eggplant was good. So if you like very sweet Pad thai this is the place.

I went in to grab some food to go for my family, and ended up ordering three random items from the chef's special menu, and WOW. Was not disappointed. All three items were delicious, and I couldn't choose a favorite. I don't recall the exact dish names, but I believe we got the Thai BBQ Ribs, Mushroom & Basil w/ Tofu, and Catfish. The service was also really friendly. Offering water as I'm waiting was really nice. I'll definitely be back.

Honestly, I have no idea how this restaurant is rated so high. Maybe it was just an off night. I have a long history of eating and cooking Thai cuisine. My experience here was pretty bad. The amount of oil used to cook was unbelievable. It kind of made me sick. Either people providing these ratings don’t understand type cuisine or I just had a really off night and experience. I would consider another Thai restaurant in the area.

So this is my fourth time coming to this restaurant and last!! the first 3 times coming i had no problem and the food was very good, but unfortunately this time the waitress was very very rude to me and my family we were the only hispanics at that time i don't know if this was a racist action or what, but she was responding rude to us and final thing she charged us $19 dolars because we came in a group of 5 adults and 2 kids! She says the groups of more than 5 or more they charge a sitting fee that it's expecify somewhere on the menu!!! Sorry but for me this is totally crazy since you are already paying for food and service and they have to be prepared to received people kindly and paying to eat inside the restaurant for my opinión it's completely crazy!

The food and service keep us going back for more. The food is ALWAYS so good, and made to order. When I request no onions, or scallions, I won't find them on my plate. It is a relaxed atmosphere, and I look forward to my next meal there.

Best Thai food in Bakersfield by a mile and I’ve been to all of them.

In my opinion the one of the best Thai in bakersfield I have had. And there are many to choose from in Bako. I have been to many Thai options in sw/nw Bakersfield and this is the place we go to when we want Thai. Friendly staff, reasonable price, clean dining area, and consistently good food. The duck dish is especially my favorite.

Ate at around 7:30, and it was absolutely delightful!
I had the honey-roasted duck with the jasmine tea. The duck was cooked to a perfect crisp, and the tea was the perfect accent to it. I had sticky rice with mango, which was the perfect taste to end the meal on.

It has a great atmosphere and the staff was incredibly friendly, even taking notice when a dish still had food on it, and taking the time to ask for feedback!

The food is always very good, and their Thai Tea is delicious. They have added tofu and mock chicken as options in their dishes (other choices of beek, pork, chicken) and also have a few seafood dishes, so there's something for everyone. The servers are always nice and we've never had to wait for a table.

This restaurant is so good. Clean, generous portions. The service was very good.

We waited to be seated for 30 minutes and once we were called in, they gave us a small table when there was an empty comfortable table available. All 4 seater tables had 2 people seated on them. Even though we asked for the empty comfortable table, the waiter told us that the table was already given away. Few minutes after we sat down, the 4 seater was given away to 2 people who came in AFTER US! terrible service.

Ambiance was great, service was excellent. Appetizers tempura squid, tempura shrimp & sashimi was tasty, tender, moist. We had tantanmen ramen, tonkotsu, shio tofu ramen, chicken shoyu and a chicken bento box. The flavors were great!

Ordered some food for take out based on the review's, delivery went well unfortunately the food does not taste good in my opinion in my plate I had fresh and old broccoli together the egg rolls where actually good but everything else wasn't done correctly or had a really off smell just wasn't satisfied overall especially for the price and how small the servings are.

I enjoyed the Shrimp Fried Rice.

Excellent hidden Bakersfield Gem. Plus they have my favorite Drunken Noodles dish which are the wide Noodles and veggies. Not all Thai restaurants make theses tasty noodles. Avoid ordering with GREEDY Google online ordering as the big tech giant is taking advantage of the public during the Pandemic and wanted $8.00 service fee for only 2 items. We opted to order when we arrive and guess what? 10 minutes later we had our hot delicious Thai food ready to go.

Always order here with Uber Eats and finally went in to grab some good food! A must try is the Orange Chicken. I don't really like orange chicken but this has the best orange chicken compared to any restaurant i have been at! My favorite dish here is the Seafood Pad See Ew and the Panang Curry with Shrimp. The reason I love this Thai Restaurant is because the food is excellent and is consistent with the taste and quality of food! We will definitely see you again soon!

Food taste good....,but I have to give it 3 stars because I think it's pricy for the serving size, average $15 bucks for the plates I bought that are equivalent to lunch size, i.g. Rice and entrée.

And...kind hard to believe a Thai restaurant don't serve regular sticky rice...best to eat sticky rice with hand and dip and scoop into stir fry...let it absorb the sauce... sometimes steam rice just won't do....bummer😪

While waiting for my order, 3 customers came in to pick up and the waitress knew them all by name, that told me this place was good and has a lot of frequent fliers. It was my first time here, I ordered chicken teriyaki and it was delicious, my husband got deluxe duck and he loved it and the iced thai tea is phenomenal! I will definitely return.
