Teng's is an amazing chinese restaurant that is very clean and has a great ambiance. We ordered three appetizers consisting of wontons, dumplings, and pakora, all of which were chicken, and for entrees were the crispy beef and general tso chicken. Everything tastes really fresh and is filled with flavor. Teng's is as authentic as you will get when it comes to halal chinese cuisine.

Teng's is a family business and the owners are one of the best people you will meet. They are super friendly and make you feel as if you are at home. The food comes really fast to your table and is always fresh.

I freaking love this place, everything is so yummy and flavorful. Hoping to try everything on the menu one visit at a time. It's a super small place, everything is served in to go containers, you take your own plates and utensils, when done, pack your own leftovers. Love it. If I lived closer it would be a problem.

Had the chicken Manchurian it was okay, nothing crazy but that’s the first dish i tried, so cant wait to try more from them in future since its Halal. broccoli bowl was delicious

Gobi Manchurian was the worst I have ever had. It had a slimy coating and cauliflower was totally overcooked.
Chicken in the mixed vegetable dish was like cardboard. Very very disappointed with the quality of the food. Will never order again.

Every time we’re craving halal Chinese food, we go to Teng’s and are never disappointed. The food is fresh and tasty and the serving size is decent. We try something new every time and are always pleasantly surprised. Highly recommended!

Great Chinese restaurant with Halal food. Pricing is very reasonable as well. They just don't have much space for dine in and they don't take reservations. Although they said they had Halal food, I was surprised that they didn't have chicken or lamb with rice. 🫤

I loved this place and so did so many people I know! But I want to give honest feedback and hope they understand that the quality is really poor now. The chicken the last 3 times I went, completely burnt and tossed in sauce. Also now the chicken is tiny pieces that are 80% breading and it was the opposite before. There were just 2 scraps of chicken and one shrimp In my noodle dishes the past 4 times I went. I really hope they get back to how they were but I have a lot of friends and they all shared the same exact concerns I have even though we haven’t come together.
They were amazing before but at this point I don’t know if me or anyone I know has space for another chance. I’m so over it

The best Hakka restaurant in New York. Family owned and run. Tyler is always great with the customers and his parents are super sweet. Food is top tier, quick and efficient as well. Try to go early cause you’ll have to wait behind 8 families like I had to.

they are bang on point! I tried a few things, hakka noodles, hakkal chicken, chicken friend rice, MOMOs , dumplings, peanut sauce, cold sesame noodles and the hot oil pint size.. and they are ALL SO DAMN GOOD. the only issue is - IM ADDICTED.
I have ubered from them and went for pickup. The pick up is about 30nins but i went friday night- the restaurant looks like a nice sit down also and clean. Will recommend to fam for sure! I wish they were close. Also, it looks like its family owned. LOVE IT and thank you! (Also will add pix next time. i just get the food and start eating! )

I have been living out East for 4 years. I came from Queens, where good Asian and Indian food are not hard to find. I finally found a great take out restaurant that has food with lots of flavor, plenty of spice(pre extra spice) and a huge variety. If spicy hot 🌶 🔥 is a favorite of yours this place is a must.

The food here is great. I had the Hakka Chili Chicken which is "Spicy" Chunky crispy chicken with light brown sauce, stir fried with onions, chili, and cilantro. It was very good. The service is great. The ambience isn’t much but had a comfortable feel to it. I’ve never tried the Hakka region Chinese food and it was good. The restaurant is BYOB.

The Hakka chili beef is so tender. Aside from the fact that it is halal, you will not find better or fresher Chinese food than this. Unlike overly sweet and old chicken found at many places.. this restaurant goes through cases of chicken every day.. and are constantly selling everything they make fresh within minutes of cooking. They’re never open. Literally theyre open 3 days out of the week. Idk how they make any money.

The rice noodles are great. Awesome presentation as well. Nothing better than a hot bowl of noodle soup on a cold winter day. The skewers are also good. But we found the stinky tofu way too salty and the soupy dumplings are only so so. I did love that they have the tea pot on a warmer to keep the tea hot.

This place did not hold back on spending on decor. That's not usually something you can say for a Chinese restaurant. The inside looks like a Chinese garden, with Chinese style roof and lantern lights all around. They even have Chinese style wooden chairs.

In terms of service, I guess this place is getting popular from the great reviews. The wait staff are quite busy and it took a long time to get them to close us out. I just feel bad because there are people waiting for tables and we were just sitting there , done eating and doing nothing, just waiting to get someone to close us out. And yes, we did use the call button.

I'm from Toronto, and we have Hakka Chinese everywhere. I gotta say Teng's had some of the best Hakka Chinese I've ever had. Their portion size may be a bit smaller than what we have in toronto but they make up for it in their quality of food and it makes sense too since the owners are hakanese, so you are getting authentic food.

10/10 place, must visit. They got great food and big serving size, all decently priced. Amazing food, great service, what's not to love?

Food was spectacular. Never experienced such fresh and new flavors to such simple dishes.

Despite requesting the food to be extra spicy in our large take-out order, everything except the fried rice had a noticeable sweet undertone. The manchow soup appeared to be extremely dark, almost black in color. While the overall taste was satisfactory, the lack of spiciness was disappointing.

Outstanding. I ordered Edemame, veggie egg roll Hakka chilli wings, Hakka Noodle, Szechuan momo dumpling. Arrived steaming hot. Everything was fresh, perfectly spiced, and so very flavorful. Edamame nicely crisp and spicy, veggie rolls are ample in size and tasted so fresh. I mean fresh, not processed. The Hakka noodle was scrumptious. Nicely garlicky. Noodles a bit too soft but did not take away from the fantastic flavors. The best for last, the Szechuan momo dumpling. Sooooo good. You can taste the care taken to prepare the dishes. I recommend Teng's Restaurant without hesitation. Great food.

Very unprofessional. Ordered yesterday and realized they missed an item. Let me add that the previous 2 times I ordered, they delivered chicken which was very chewy and essentially inedible. I simply called to inform them and the man on the other end got very defensive. He said they made a mistake and they were allowed to make mistakes. This, of course, would be fine if this was just one incident. However, as a restaurant, being okay with making mistakes on orders is highly unprofessional. Took no accountability and didn’t even offer an apology. Began to curse shortly after and told me not to order from here again. Very rude and unprofessional.

Avoid at all costs. Customer service is terrible. Truly an unprofessional staff with a failure working at the counter. Began using vulgar language, I guess I would to if I didn’t make it anywhere but behind a cash register in life.

They put something in the food which makes it really smelly and the food generally seems dirty. I am a very easy going person when it comes to food but this was the worst one . It made me throw up. This place is a perfect example of why not to eat food by Google ratings.

Excellent halal Chinese food on the island

My family always comes here and it has never disappointed. My favorite is the CRISPY BEEF and CHICKEN PAKORA!!

Very nice variety of food – I've tried a few dishes, and some are definitely better than others:

- Momo and wonton dumplings: 5/5, they are delicious
- Tom kha gai soup: 4.5/5 very aromatic and flavorful – not as perfect as the real thing, but still delicious
- Chow Fun: 4/5 nice taste, could've used more spice/flavor
- Singaporean noodles: 3/5 flavor was just okay
- Mango chicken: 1/5 the texture was not what I expected – kind of liquid-y and the flavor was bland. I was expecting a sweet but spicy dish, but it was mostly sweet which was kind of off-putting
- Mapo Tofu: 1/5, there was a strange, funky aftertaste. A bit like dirty tap water. I couldn't finish it

Good Manchuria chefs are hard to find these days. These guys are a family committed to excellent quality indo Chinese Tangra style cuisines. Phenomenal food and also they make it very healthy. It’s like perfecting it at home.

I haven’t had hakka cuisine/indo-chinese since I went to India a few years ago. It is hard to describe — it’s not Chinese and it isn’t typically “Indian” either; it’s its own thing and when done right, very tasty. I had the hakka chili chicken and the manchurian soup — both were spiced just right and I can attest to it being the authentic taste that I remember. The restaurant is a take out spot, really, but I ate in. Tengs is worth a trip for this unique cuisine not well known in the US

Food is really yummy and flavorful!! We ordered many things and all of them were delicious. Chicken corn soup reminded my childhood memories. In Dhaka, Bangladesh we used to eat corn soup in the Chinese restaurant that taste I didn’t get many years until today!!
