My client and I come here at least 2x a month. We love this place! It’s very chill and laid back. There are a lot of food options to choose from. My personal favorite is the crab Rangoon’s and red curry with chicken or shrimp. My client loves their chicken fried rice. We look forward to coming back and trying different things. The servers are so friendly, the service is quick, the food is always fresh and hot. The portion sizes are huge, which makes for great leftovers and it’s very affordable. Highly recommended trying this place out.

Best Thai food I've had in Phoenix. I have had a couple things I didn't like... Papaya salad wasn't anything like what I've had in other places or Thailand but I'm sure each family makes it differently so I don't want to fault them for that. If you stick to the curries and pad Thai both have always been amazing especially the red curry.

Unfortunately the chicken satay was not completely cooked. This is what I got for my 8 year old. The bottom of the chicken on the sticks was not done. I got the ginger chicken which was good. My husband loved his shrimp drunken noodles. The Thai pot stickers were very good. Nice filling. It could be the satay was a one off on not being cooked well. We didn't complain to the staff but they only came over once to refill the water. We figured out about the chicken problem after.

This is a smaller restaurant that is casual but very nice. The food is very good, tastes very fresh and has just the right amount of spice. You can request more spice if desired. Alcohol can be ordered. There is a cute patio area that would be great when temps are not 111, haha. Service is excellent. Great place for date night.

As for my, I love the panange curry, stir fry eggplant, Thai basil dish, and tomyum and Tom kha soups are all my favorite dishes here.

Don't forget to try the Thai tea and Green milk tea, are sweet bit compliments well with the Thai food.

My son love the sticky rice mango but I love the custard w mango here.

The staffs are very friendly and the owner here is very sweet lady and she always treat us like her family here.

We ordered spring rolls & green curry. The spring rolls were 2" long, five of them for $10. The green curry with 4 tiny pieces of chicken and total of 5 pieces of thin chopped vegetables was Very Watery.

I just ordered here. I just got my order 30 minutes ago via an online service. I am moving and I asked for an extra plate because I am packing and everything is packed up. I asked for an extra plate, and they listen to my note. 10/10 Thai basil coming in clutch through this stressful time for me! Your Expo is awesome!

This restaurant gets worse at every visit. I’m afraid that after today’s lunch, I’m done and will not return. My green curry was completely watery and tasteless with many of the vegetables, not even cooked. When I brought it to the attention the waitress she didn’t do anything about it and couldn’t even have cared less. This is not the memory I have Of the usual Great curries they used to make. On top of that, they charge premium prices for subpar food. I think it’s time to raise your standards a little if you want to stay in business. Just my two cents! Thank you and good bye !

I’m so sad to say this place just isn’t the same. It’s been a couple years since I’ve come back and had a craving for my birthday dinner tonight. I was heart broken as we took the order to go and while I was on my second helping of my Yellow Curry I pulled out a whole long piece of black hair - barf!! I’m horrified. Happy birthday to me. :(

Chicken Pad Thai is 1 star and it severely lacks a worthy chicken portion and flavor. Actually the entire portion size is ridiculously small vs the price paid. I might have had 5 bites of chicken in entire dish. It is ALL noodles.

Pot Stickers are 1 stars, I ate one and threw the rest in the garbage. Their

Chicken Coconut Soup or Tom Kha Gai is the only thing they are good at that I ordered, give it 4 stars.

When ordering online you CANNOT even order for extra chicken in any of the dishes.

When checking out I asked for extra chicken, no sprouts and extra peanuts... They gave me neither. They do not even read the special instructions.

Hits the Thai food cravings when in Scotsdale. If you're up for a drive, the tempe location hits really well, but both are good. Service is hit or miss of standard versus outstanding, but I have never had bad service. Overall, worth a stop in 👍👍

It's OK, green curry is very sweet and not spicy even though I ordered MEDIUM. Their tipping option on the tablet start a 20% tip for takeout, which is crazy. You have other tipping options buy they are awkward to choose. The food was fine.

Tried this place out because there was a deal on Uber Eats. Their "Spicy Fried Rice," has 0 spice. I'm not even sure this dish even ever shared a building with spices - of any sort. The flavor - if you can call it that - seems to come entirely from the steamed vegetables in it. And if the lack of flavor wasn't bad enough, the fact it it's at least a dollar if not two dollars more than most other thai fried rice options in the area is especially frustrating. Go somewhere cheaper and tastier. I could have made this at home with some minute rice, brocolli, and water. LOTS of water. To get that mmm nothing flavor.

I have been coming here for years with friends, and it never ever disappoints. Every time we bring out of town guests, they wish to come back over and over again. I am so shocked to see negative reviews on here, my husband and I lived in Asia for a long time, along with other parts of the world as well. Thai Basil is amazing, owned and operated by local person. Service is excellent, if they are not crazy busy. The food is amazing. Huge disappointment tonight! We often went to Thai Basil because of their quick service and good food. Tonight we walked out after sitting for 10-15 minutes with no one offering to take our order. He even walked by us several times. I can accept slow service but ignoring I cannot. We won’t be back!

We live nearby and have been going here for a while. Had a very bad experience last night with a gentleman. They brought out my food 20 minutes after my wife’s food. I complained- that’s not how we intended to eat our dinner. He threatened to take my food away which I let him do. We asked for our bill- he made us wait another 20 minutes and still had our entree we didn’t eat on the bill. I had to argue with him in front of the whole restaurant. It was embarrassing for him and I will not return. Probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.

Decided to give this place a try. Very good food and large portions. Family run place.

Ordered our food online for dinner. We got Pad See Ew, Chicken Satay, Fried tofu, and Chicken Fried Rice. I've ordered these standard dishes regularly in many Thai Restaurants. Unfortunately they were pretty bad. It's lack of the Thai authentic taste, it tasted more like bad Chinese take out. Also beware of online ordering, because they charge more per dish. They also charged me a delivery fee even though I picked up my own food. When confronted to the lady up front (maybe the owner), she said, the price is correct, because "they" charge more for online order.

I have been a regular customer for several years. I have never written a review. I ordered take out yesterday and when I went to pick up my food I asked for one of their sauces. The response I got was there are 2 in there already, but I wanted a different one. My bill was $25.00 and they didn’t want to give me one, just one, extra sauce. Unfortunately I have asked more than one time and I still get the same response.

I had a surprise birthday party for my husband here. The staff could not be more accompidating and kind to the 17 guests that evening. The appetizers were on the table as the guests arrives, as I had asked. The food was delivered hot and on timeThe food was delicious. It was a fun and memorable evening for both my husband and our guests.

As a long time patron of the restaurant (never again), I am very disappointed in not only the quality of the food tonight, but the response when I called to give feedback. I ordered the Pad Thai noodles (my go to here for years). It was incredibly fishy tasting. My GF tasted it as well and confirmed it poor quality. When I spoke to who I believe the owner is, his response was "We make a lot of Pad Thai and everyone else likes it." Terrible quality of food and even worse customer service. You've been warned.

Literally ordered chinese from the table .. server too unattentive or overwhelmed to notice we didnt eat the meal ... Cold bread to start the experience ... strange but on purpose they said ... cold potatoes and veggies with entrer .. bland food all around ..

Food was just not great. My spicy noodle dish with chicken was very bland (not what you'd expect from something called Spicy Noodle.) Lunch companion also found the mean to be bad. The beef was drowning in a brown sauce that was very sweet and lacking in spice and seasoning.

I ordered from them and they sent potstickers instead of chicken. Also the soup had heat of the highest level which I ordered no heat. So I ended up with a meal I couldn't eat and had to through it away. I called about the delivery and was told I could come in for a free meal. When I went in my name wasn't on the list and they wanted to give me a partial meal. I told them to forget it and that I would never order from them again. Horrible customer service when they mess up.

Horrible. Crunchy rice, chicken and crab tasted Costco frozen and Yellow Curry, so much curry it should have been from an Indian restaurant. Not even a hint of coconut. Awful-never again.

The difference is the influence of, main ingredients, flavor, and presentation, making each of the menu choices crave-worthy. You can order the food hot and spicy or make it to taste with the three oil and spices that is served with the food at the table. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions about the menu offerings. The staff was constantly making sure our glasses were full and quickly served any requests we had. The Thia Basil signature Scottsdale restaurant is truly a crave-worthy experience. Many thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome and taking such good care of us from start to finish and the terrific meal. We also fully enjoyed the dessert plate with three perfect thai treats.

All vegetables overcooked except green beans they were raw. Not at all fresh tasting. One basil leaf, looked like slime. Bland flavor. White rice tasted like day old. Very disappointing. Cleanliness is reason for 1 star.

Original review: I’ve tried all of the curries offered on the menu in the 4 years I’ve worked nearby and they are all great. The one constant about this restaurant is that the good quality of food has never changed. My favorite dish is the red curry with beef, but all the other curries are good too. I’ve done pickup and dine in, dine in can be a bit slow so only go when you have the time. Lunch portions are good size and price, dinner can be a little bit more expensive.

This restaurant is run be a man and his wife. The wife serves the food and the man is in the kitchen. She missed our spring rill appetizer and brought our soup and enter at the same time. By the time we had our soup the entree got cold.
Food was ok. We will try other places next time.

I ordered the soft shell crab appetizer, thai soup, and BBQ prawn salad. The soup and salad were pretty good, but the soft shell crab was such a negative experience that it ruined the entire meal. The restaurant description indicated "Soft shell crab in tempura batter then deep fried served with sweet & sour sauce," so that;s what I expected, Unfortunately, I received only one piece of crab tempura and over 10 pieces of vegetable tempera. Makes it kind of hard to take this place seriously with a poor tasting $13 appetizer with less than 10% crab.

Way Under expectations. Green curry was very sweet. Feels like I was having some dessert.
Fried rice were chunky. Chicken was chewy. What ever you were ordering don't order these.

I literally CRAVE their coconut soup (Tom
Kah) I add shrimp. I live in Alaska currently and any time I’m in town I stop here at least twice maybe three times. It’s such a great blend of sour and sweet. Seriously get this soup- you won’t regret it!

We wanted to make reservation time for 6 or 7 PM. We were told to come in at 5 PM, as this would be the time with the least amount of customers and would get the best service for our party of 8. The restaurant was 25% full. But with serving the other people, and trying to maintain take out. There was only one chef, and one server. I am not kidding. We got one dish every 5 to 10 minutes apart. By the time one person was nearly finishing the dish, the next dish was placed on the table. We were there nearly an hour before the final dish was placed. And it was cold. They had to remake it because this person waa a vegan. And they had used chicken. So the plate came back cold. They told us they would charge 50%. If I was restaurant owner I would have just given the dinner for free. It was barely touched. And was not taken home. They kept trying to push the rest of the plate as it take home, so it wouldn’t go to waste.
On top of it, we had two separate families of four, and they put the bill as one bill, instead of two, so they can instantly charge 18% for extremely poor service. And to put icing on the cake, they charge a 3% surcharge if you use credit card to pay the bill.
We try all kinds of Thai restaurants. And this one really doesn’t stand out in the least as far as flavor. We had to add hot sauce to just about everything to resemble Thai food. Do yourself a favor, and try somewhere else, and increase your odds of having a better dining experience

Bland food. Tom Kha has absolutely no spice, and very little flavor. The crab wontons are burned, stale (looks like the refried old ones), and filled with imitation crab and little else. Waste of $40

Extremely disappointing. We go here every couple of weeks and it’s been great. Not this time, the “tempura” was just breadcrumbs, and the vegetables were frozen. We didn’t get our potstickers that we paid for, and we were given Pad Rad Naar, instead of Pad See Ew.

I had the coconut shrimp app and green curry. Both were delicious.

Watch out. When you ask for spicey. I had sweat pouring out of my head. But it was great.

The food here is pretty good, my wife and I love curry and we had the panang and massman curry. Very delicious. The prices could be a bit more competitive for the portion sizes, especially the rice. They only provide a small amount or rice and charge $2.50 for more. They also serve soup with their lunch specials, but ONLY in the winter. In the summer it is a salad, which was slightly disappointing.

The absolute WORST..... do not waste your time or money here. This has happened twice now where we have placed an order for a beef dish as take out, we get home and discover that it’s a completely different dish with chicken. When we phoned back to try to get our dish corrected, they didn’t even apologize and said there would be an up charge.... even though they have inconvenienced us as a family with not being able to eat together so one of us could go and pick up the correct order, wasting time and gas, and they tried to charge an extra $2 for this when they should have just replaced it and given us what we ordered originally. This is the second time this has happened and we will NOT be eating here again - the customer service is diabolical. Fed up of getting the wrong food after ordering for take out. We will find a much better Thai restaurant than these clowns. Do not bother or waste your time with this restaurant.

Good Thai food but limited menu items compared to most other Thai restaurants. Also it would be nice if they offered different spicy options or a choice on how spicy you can order. Service can be slow and kitchen gets backed up when they are busy.

Ordered food on Saturday 4/25/2020 at 6:49pm with a target delivery date of 7:50pm no later delivery of 8:15pm. Food was delivered at 8:51pm. UberEat driver was kind enough to text me that she was waiting for the food at the restaurant and that it was a stack order with what it looks like my order to be the last to be delivered.
Pad Thai with chicken was not good, threw it away.
Pad See Ew was average with saggy pasta.
Fried with chicken was OK.

Drive all the way over here for lunch and when I walk in she says holding her arms in an X up we are closed. Um well your sign outside says open 3-9pm, it is 3:09pm. Waste of a drive on my lunch break. I would say terrible customer service. To not only say closed when your sign says otherwise, but put your arms out to make sure the customer can know for sure that you don’t want to serve them.

Great authentic food at reasonable prices. I ordered mild and my friends ordered hot. Both were as advertised and tasted great. The Panang was some of the best I’ve had. Lunch was fast and when they made a mistake on one of our orders they immediately and quickly fixed it!

Been here a few times. The khao soi with chicken was flavorful and delicious. Green curry is also good.

Great food ! The spicy noodles were perfect! We were a group of 30 and the restaurant does not normally handle large groups (this is what we got to know from the experience) since orders were mixed up, brought in late and forgotten too. Service was not good but the food tasted great! Just be sure to remind the staff that you ordered and repeat what the item was, you should be fine :D

The food was excellent, flavourful and of good portion size. I had the yellow curry with chicken and my wife had the tofu appetizer with the crispy sweet potato. We’ve been going here for 4 years and they don’t disappoint.

Received my to go order and it was completely wrong. They didnt put shrimp in the shrimp salad rolls. Portion size is so small. Totally overpriced for the quality and portions received. Do not recommend. I will not be back.

Delivered on UberEats. Arrived hot, but taste was pretty bland for Thai, and the egg roll on the side had taste and consistency of cardboard. So average at best not taking the egg roll into account. Shrimp was nicely done, and delivery arrive earlier than estimated, so that is why it reaches three stars as it would be less otherwise. Portion size was OK, but definitely not on generous side. Not sure I would order from there again.

Food was tasty and timely. BBQ chicken was well seasoned, and the sauce was tangy with some spice. The tofu soup at the start of the meal was surprisingly refreshing. All in all very tasty.
