My husband and I came to 5 R Cha on the last evening of our Arizona vacation and it was a perfect end to our trip. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was courteous and friendly. I wish we lived closer—we would be making regular date nights here!
A little more expensive than a lot of Thai places. But you're getting really high quality Thai food. The girl at the counter is always just awesome. My favorite is the pork jerky also chicken fried rice Thai fried rice and of course Thai Curry is just awesome
My husband and I just had lunch at 5R Cha Thai Bistro and it was so delicious. We ordered the chicken noodle (it’s like chow fun) and the yellow curry with chicken. Ordered the Thai chow mein to go with chicken and I tried it while waiting for dessert. Yum. Ordered the coconut ice cream with Roti and hubby said it was fabulous. The coconut ice cream had pineapple in it so I couldn’t eat it (I’m severely allergic to pineapple). Everything was great. We’ve been in Arizona about 20 months and have wanted to try this place. Sad that we waited so long! We will be back. If you like Thai food, this is the place to go. Our waitress was wonderful (Michele).
Went there with friends that are far more knowledgeable than me about Thai food.
They all said it was great.
I asked for a small portion and the staff obliged.
Definitely a great place to go and share a meal with friends.
Just a very pleasant restaurant all around. The service is very friendly and super helpful. Some times it's a little under staffed but they are constantly moving. The food great and seasoned appropriately.
I had ordered Curry to go I was So Disapointed in my Curry there was more liquid in the container than meat & vegetables I should had cooked veggies at home and put in the container myself I had ordered Tofu there was hardly any and the free rice was a baby size carton almost $20 and the Appetizer I ordered had shrunk they should be called Baby appetizers . Last time I will step foot in that restaurant. People get ready to pay more money & get less 🤔. Don't be stingy in putting in more Veggies. Sorry however this is true .
Amazing food great service well be back to sample more dishes soon. Spice level is accurate and flavorful. Tom ka soup was a hit as was the tiger steak dish.. it not a tiger steak just the name lol
Food was not good at all.
Wow. The food here has taken a plunge to awful. Sad, as it was a great neighborhood spot. Do not go.

My aunt Patti favorite place
Live the green curry and the soup was really filling, too. Tai iced tea if you want to have a sugar rush. We love the people who work here and we love the atmosphere. We basically love everything about this place. All of the food is amazing all the time. We have been there over 20 times and still love it. I would recommend this for a casual date night or if you want to educate your family About new culture and cuisine. It is worth the try! Kids can get fried rice or a chicken dish.
Service and atmosphere were better than some of the other Thai restaurants in the area, but unfortunately, the food was sub-par.

Lots to choose from at 5 R and it is pretty darn good!
Ellen great server. Good food.
Always, always a treat and pleasure to eat here. The cooks have always been very accommodating to my dietary needs. The food is absolutely delicious.
Im super disappointed; we paid for extra noodles and got less than a half of a container of food. The chicken was super rubbery like it had been reheated and the all tasted plain and little flavor. It was 44 dollars and honestly it wasn’t worth it. I would suggest saving your money and going somewhere else
One of my favorite places. Such a great place to eat! Super clean, I love the decor and the service is superb. Not enough words to say how great this place is!
Very disappointed in the entree we ordered "to go". Quality was marginal. (Garlic Chicken w/vegetables). Quantity was RIDICULOUS for the price! Barely 1.5 cups of food for $20!! The soup which is what I really wanted was,$17-18!! I thought that was ridiculous for SOUP! So, instead we got an entree and we're still hungry. There wasn't much flavor at all and the chicken was dry and overcooked. Sorry, that was my 3rd "Try", and now I won't be back after 3 strikes.
We go because we really love the fresh food. Service was a bit off on our last visit.
I dislike leaving a negative review but I’m hoping they will be encouraged to do a little better. We’ve enjoyed 5 R Cha for several years and have had our favorite items to order but are lately feeling unsure if we want to continue to eat here. They’ve raised their prices, as have everyone else, but their quality has become unpredictable.
Last night we ordered the panang chicken and the pineapple fried rice. Both seemed watered down. The curry sauce was super runny (not creamy as usual) and not as flavorful, also had less chicken and veggies than previously. The fried rice was just sad, less flavorful. I don’t know why the quality isn’t consistent especially when they charge top dollar. While the food was still edible I just think if you want top dollar you need to have top quality consistently.
The food at 5 R Chai Thai Bistro is of high quality, and there are even delicious options for those like myself with gluten free needs. The staff are always friendly and the service is consistently high quality. We enjoy dining here regularly!
We've been trying to get here for over a year to eat based on recommendations on social media and friends.
We were not disappointed!!!
Everything was so delicious that we'll be back soon to try more of that menu!
Fried rice is my favorite 😍
Everything here is always great. Best pineapple fried rice in the valley.
Great staff a little over priced
This restaurant is most likely a neighborhood favorite with visitors. A bit pricey. I found the food very sweet and not spicy whatsoever. I ordered 2 dishes, all #5 level spiciness. Nothing seemed to be made with that level of heat. Maybe it's Bangkok style and not Isaan Thai that I am used to. I will say the restaurant is cute in decor, and the server was very pleasant 😊. If you are looking to dabble for the first time in Thai food and not a big spicy Thai food eater, then this would be the place to start.
Great food at a very decent price
$19.00 for half a serving of Pad Thai. Don’t waste your money, unless your looking for an overpriced appetizer.
I normally don’t leave reviews unless it stands out in either direction, but when I look for a new restaurant, I really appreciate honest reviews. This Thai place had zero flavor and nothing authentic. Sorry, always looking for a good Thai, but this place was definitely not it!!
Ordered from uber, driver was fine resturant was the worst, bland, bad, would not recommend
Our go to Thai takeout spot in Mesa
Unfortunately I will never be going back to this place. The food was pretty bad. And I politely asked for a leftover box for the remaining food so I could save them face and throw it in the trash. But then I got the bill and noticed several issues. There was an Open Food fee, whatever that is. Then there was a payment fee, before I even gave them any payment at all, so it isn't a CC fee. And to top it all off, they charged me an extra $5 over their listed price on a main dish. So they charged me about $8 extra for two people. I can't believe people let them get away with this. Never ever going back. Would ask bank to refund my money but I feel bad for them.
Amazing Place. Super nice Staff. Highly recommend.
My husband and I come here to enjoy the excellent food and great service!
We’ve eaten here a couple of times. We’ll probably try it again, but would recommend eating in or take out vs delivery… delivery, missed spring rolls that we ordered and were charged for… understand with doordash you’re a commodity but getting the right number of boxes in the bag seems pretty basic. Food is pretty good, but to no surprise, you’re better off with the thai vs chinese options.
I love the food here. Especially the curry. I work at the salon next door so the girls and i often order food here and it NEVER disappoints. We always love the portions and the taste and the service. Highly recommend.
Had a most disappointing experience of a place we've enjoyed for years. Food is awesome. Tonight we placed a hefty takeout order, including 2 orders of sticky rice, a dessert we love there ($16 for 2 orders). When we tried it, we had received two globs of white goo, no sweetness at all. When I called, she said we should have ordered the dessert version. It was supposedly our fault! How would we know there was a different version? She said, next time order the dessert version, no offer to make it right. Sad, because we can no longer support a business we've loved!
The spring rolls were delish
I wish I would have gone with the mild pad Thai vs the mild-medium
Service wasn’t bad, it’s just that the order for take out never told me the order was ready
Finally after 25 min I figured I should check and found out it had been sitting in the corner 15 minutes….. but the actual human involved in the restaurant was really kind
Love this place and the grilled pork chops!! 🤤
Delicious massaman curry and sweet rice with mango. Large portions
Too much lighting in that place, and they do a lot of take out orders not too many people come and eat there. Idk why bc the food is excellent... Can't do wrong g with the Pad Thai, level 3 heat.
This restaurant is a gem! Delicious food and kind service. I'm vegetarian and always have so much to choose from!
Always great food!
Oh my goodness! The tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce were so filling and tasty that we attempted to get them the day following our initial visit but, unfortunately we got there as they were closing for lunch (I think that's between 3:30-4:30p). The evening before my cousin had a pineapple based dish that she enjoyed so much she referred to it as being an aphrodisiac because of the way it made her feel, lol. I had the green coconut curry and I tell you no lie my mouth is watering even as I type this! I am visiting the area but will definitely stop back there before I head out of town to get some more of that tasty food. It's a 10 out 10, do recommend for me!
If you don’t typically order Hot spice level don’t go over mild here. Ordered pad Thai and another dish at Mild-medium which was the same as hot+ at most other Thai places. Also, they added tofu that wasn’t ordered. They refunded the cost for 1 dish but still not impressed with the food
Great food! Great service! I has the Lo Mein with chicken and medium spice that was drive worthy 🤤🤤🤤 Can't wait to go back!
BEWARE - this restaurant does not take food allergies / dietary restrictions seriously. We ordered vegetarian food with tofu and our take-away contained chicken! Yikes.
Food and service was fantastic!!
Amazing food and friendly service! I got the chow mein (medium spicy) with chicken. Chicken was super tender and just burst with flavor! Can't wait to go back!
The fold here is delicious and fresh.
My mother loves them and orders here all the time
Good Thai food, All spice levels from very mild to blazing hot.
Had the sweet and sour chicken. It was neither sweet or sour. Asked for #4 heat, it was bland. The chicken was rubbery, the vegetables were rock hard, and the pineapple had no flavor. Ate less than 1/4 of my plate and gave it back to them. Will NEVER eat there again.
The Larb salad was de-licious! Highly recommend. Service was attentive.
Really great place. One of the best Thai restaurant around Mesa. Order directly even for delivery and not on overpriced DoorDash.
Great food
Great Thai food!
Good food is a little overpriced.
Excellent
Oh man, let me tell you about this spicy fried fish, it's like a party in your mouth! It's like, BOOM, flavor explosion, you know?
I mean, I've had a lot of fried fish in my day, but this one really takes the cake. It's got this perfect crispy, golden-brown coating, and then when you take a bite, BAM, you get hit with this spicy seasoning that just wakes up your taste buds.
And it's not just the spice, you know? The fish itself is so tender and flaky, it just melts in your mouth. I could eat this stuff every day and never get tired of it.
But here's the thing, it's not just the taste that's so great, it's the whole experience. It's like when you bite into that fish, you feel like you're on top of the world, like nothing can bring you down. It's like all your worries and problems just disappear, and all that's left is pure, unadulterated joy.
So yeah, if you haven't tried this spicy fried fish yet, you're missing out, my friend. You gotta get on that train and ride it all the way to Flavor Town. Trust me, you won't regret it.
A solid Thai bistro. I'll be back.
Food was delicious, service was friendly. We will be back.
Always good food. Evey dish has been good.
Great service and quality Thai cuisine!
Some of the best Thai food I've ever had!! Service by all servers was stellar as well. Will definitely go back!!
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the area.
Worst Thai food ive ever had. This place needs a new cookbook. Food is awful, bland and you can tell nothing is fresh. They serve you food in Togo boxes.
The only reason I give it 1 star is because the waitress was super great.
The food was very good, service is good but no doubt there are some things they need to change. I was unhappy that they charged me for additional rice.
I loved the pumpkin curry; however the price went up $8.00 because I asked them to put in a variety of vegetables including eggplant, cabbage, and I stressed I wanted a wide variety of vegetables...I never said add extra. The price went from $16.99 to $24.99 and I felt ripped off. It was still about the same quantity I would have gotten without the request. Be careful about any special requests...it will cost you dearly. It was only $8.00 more but I am still mad about being taken advantage of.
Good food
4.5 actually, food tastes different from other Thai places, maybe that's authentic? What we got was sweeter than what we're used to, once I got used to that I goobled it down.
We got pork larb- great but salty, curry noodles- yum! And Thai sausage appetizer- strange, wouldn't get again. Portions were small.
We'll be back and recommend.
Wonderful food and a great atmosphere. Great variety at a good price with large portion sizes. Highly recommend.
Excellent service and the food was very tasty!
Best yellow curry.
One of the great Thai food I ever tried, so good and delicious 😋.
Local favorite Thai restaurant. The food was good, orders came our quickly and wait staff was very nice. The place was clean, but the atmosphere was a bit sterile.
The personal orange chicken gets the same amount as a kids orange with a $5 difference...... Stop scamming your customers...
Good service. Horrible horrible food. Vegetables tasted frozen. Beef was chewy and tough, chicken was rubbery. No flavor. Super disappointed
Good food.
Always a great experience. Been there multiple times. Edit: been going for years and every time it's been a great experience!
Decent but not the best Thai food I’ve ever had. We sometimes order carry out from them when lazy to cook. We like the basil eggplant, pineapple fried rice, bbqs are tasty, Rama is good if you like peanuts. Pad z u and other noodle dishes are generally good. The Pad Thai is on the sweet side, be careful if you don’t like sweet. Their curry dishes are okay, I’ve had better ones. Dine in probably is better than carry out since we feel like some carry out dishes maybe pre-made and frozen. Prices are not bad.
This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had In Mesa.Be sure to stop by if your in the area. The food and service is excellent.I wish I lived closer still I'd be there whenever possible.
Amazing I always get the coconut curry
Multiple times eating here and the food is consistent and customer service is prompt. I’ve had Thai food all over the country, this place has top quality food
Great food! Love the environment. The music made the experience just that much better. I crave the coconut sticky rice dessert all the time lol. My husband and I are so satisfied with our experience we will be back:).
This is our go-to joint for Thai in the neighborhood. Excellent food. Excellent service. Thanks for feeding us!!!!!!
Awesome Food and amazing service! I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and it was absolutely delicious!! I’m love to eat a good meal and feel clean and healthy after and that’s exactly what this meal did!
That was our "We can't decide what to eat" fall back place. I can't remember how many times we ate there or got take out, but we always enjoyed it. Great taste, good price!
I used to get the lemon fish here way back when I used to live nearby. I thought I'd give this place a shot again.
Pros:
1. Super easy to order online. I love their system. It's totally intuitive.
2. The 5R-cha eggplant was very tasty. I ordered medium hot. It was more hot than medium, so good to know. Lots of holy basil, which I adore.
Cons:
1. I ordered the fresh rolls (Summer rolls) with steamed shrimp, which specifically list herbs. Normally there is mint and occasionally basil or cilantro. I ordered Extra Herbs. There was none. There were 2 rolls. Each roll had one shrimp butterfly cut into two pieces. I guess that explains why they are $1 more.
This is where I buy My Thai food
Always great service and the food will knock your socks off
2nd time eating here. I didn’t like it both times but I gave it another chance.
The cook’s cigarette smoke seeped into the packaging and food.
The food was bland and needed more salt. There was a hair in my wife’s food.
I really wouldn’t recommend this place.
Best Thai around here is Thai food corner. Second is Thai patio.
Great food! The Pad Thai is very sweet.
Every time we come to 5 R Cha, we are met with wonderful staff, amazing food, and a warm environment. One of our favorites!
The food was fast, hot, good and satisfying.
The staff was great. I has E-8 with chicken and no onions. The brown rice was streamed / cooked to perfection.
I have found a new weekly lunch spot. Tuesday is Thai-day.😜
I've been here a number of times, and it's always been a great experience. Their food and service are both fantastic.
It was good flavor, but the chicken pieces were on the dry side.
How many times did we drive by before stopping? Countless.
And I regret every one! This has become my newest food addiction! Their massaman curry is everything my palate wants in one place!
Not ashamed to admit my husband and I ordered here 3 times in one week because we were just CRAVING it!
My husband gets the Pad Thai, and loves it!
Service and food are groovy smoothie
We go here for the E-9 RAMA Peanut sauce. It is excellent however they are now serving in take bowls which my wife did not like. I'm sure it is due to Covid. We gave eaten here during the pandemic previously and they served on regular plates which is why I did not give 5 star review.
Honestly it was an awful experience. It took a thousand years to order our food. When we finally got the food, the appetizer came out at the same time as our meal and was COLD! We asked for the check before they even brought us our food because of the long wait. We had to ask 3 separate times for the check. The food was hot other than the appetizer. It did taste good but we could not enjoy the meal because of the poor service. The restaurant was not packed and it seemed like others were frustrated as well. One guy was doing way too much and it was clear that he needed to delegate or at least train basics to the other employees. I’ve never tipped so badly in my life. It actually made me feel bad. Would not suggest eating here unless you have hours to waste.
Worst chicken pad thai I've ever had. Tasted and smelled like bland bird seed, for real. Also, delivery driver delivered to the wrong house in a clearly labeled neighborhood.
Awesome food. Everything is good and fresh.
Great food and friendly service.
Drove 40 mins one way today for this food. I will do it again! Worth it. Love this place!
The service was great, but the food was very bad. You can tell the food was not fresh. Over priced for very cheap food.
Great place. Great food. Very friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out.
If you need a Thai food in east Mesa this place has the food. Their noodle dishes are a bit bland but curry is good and the sides are good.
Just had them for the first time, while pricey, the food was amazing. The meat and veggies were extremly fresh and the flavors were so delicious. Definitely going to order again.
I do not tend to leave reviews, especially negative reviews, however I was very disappointed with the quality of the food from here.
It was my first time getting food from here and we got Pad Thai, Tom Kha, Fresh rolls, Thai Beef salad, rice, and Thai tea's, our regular order when trying a new Thai place. The Pad Thai was super sweet with no spice for a medium spice level, it also had tofu in it as well as the chicken I ordered it with. The Tom Kha and the salad were better just lacking any spice. The Thai tea was probably the most disappointing because it was super bitter and yet somehow did not have much tea flavor.
Overall the whole meal was very expensive for the quality of food we received. It was $30 more than my regular Thai restaurant for the same order, which would have been fine if the food would have been worth the price difference.
Highway robbery! 16 dollars for a runny curry with an ice cream scoop of rice. Had to carry my styrofoam cup up twice to ask for extra rice as they were too short staffed to check up on us after they dropped off the food. Each time was given another small scoop of rice… too little a serving to serve with a runny curry! To my surprise I was charged an extra 3.50 for each scoop. So 22 dollars plus tax for a runny curry served in a plastic throwaway bowl with three small ice cream scoops of rice… Highway Robbery… a real lack of care and love from the owners I feel… one of those places you leave feeling like you have been taken advantage of, rather than loved.
First time there,and last.
Curry is bland and seems to be very watered down and extremely over priced, I was charged $16 for a small bowl of curry and rice!! Will definitely not be coming back!
Miss the lunch specials they used to have. It is overpriced now.
Wife and I decided on Tai for take out dinner. We get home and find we are missing an item and the food was less then fabulous. Disappointed cuz we have had better service and food from here in the past. Expected better with the prices being charged
Didn't expect to paid so much for dinner! The foods was served on paper plate and plastic bowl 🥣! Portion was small.
FOODS WAS BLAND! I have better Thai foods elsewhere! Never been to a restaurant that served on paper plate & plastic bowl while dining in ! Very disappointed! Never coming back!
Meh.
The place itself is a lot more attractive than most asian restaurants but the food, unfortunately, was not impressive.
The meals came out in paper and plastic dishware so the presentation was lacking and the portions in relation to the price was disappointing. While paper and plastic might be acceptable in some lower priced venues, at $35.00+ for two persons you would expect real dishware with presentation.
The server was attentive. She indicated the paper and plastic was due to not having a dishwasher, but with only maybe five or six customers in the restaurant dishwashing should not be an issue.
Nice staff, Great Food. Would recommend!! Will return!
Good food, but even the "double thai spicy" is hardly warm.
Good food, inspirational music.
Best orange chicken 🤤🤤🤤 Comfortable place.
100/100. Love this lil place. Can't wait to find a gf and take her here.
Small bar but you feel comfortable still. 😌
Keep it up 5 R Cha
Some of the best Thai food in the valley. Everything is yummy here. We keep going back again and again
My husband and I love this place
We have an amazing waitress named Alicia
She is on spot
We just love her bunches
The food is wonderful and the waitstaff is great. If you like Thai food, this is the place to go.
Best pad Thai I've ever had!
Good place to be
We ordered through Door Dash. Food came quickly, so kudos to Door Dash. However, I specifically asked for NO SPICE in my dish and it was medium to highly spiced so I couldn't eat more then two bites of it and then had an allergic reaction to the spice which basically almost killed me.
I WISH restaurants would actually LISTEN to what they're customers request when they send out an order. We won't be ordering again from this restaurant for that reason unfortunately.
I can microwave my own food. Very underwhelming.
They have great food and great service 😊..loved it
I've been to all the Thai restaurants in the valley and this one is my favorite! The quality was excellent and the service was amazing!! In love with their Curry entrees, going back there soon!
The food tastes so FRESH!
My taste buds did a happy dance!
The staff is dedicated to their customers happiness. Both service and menu alterations were done to perfection.
Local and delicious. I highly recommend 5 R Cha Thai Bistro
Ordered to-go. Everything was delicious. I would've given 5 stars but our Crab Fried Rice was crabless :(
I had thai food before and it was pretty good. This place barely had any flavor and was very sweet. After a few bites I gave back my plate. No one else was enjoying their food so I didn't order anything else. I won't be back.
I paid way too much money for tiny portion of Orange Chicken and watery Pad Thai. The Orange Chicken tasted decent but definitely not worth it. Do not recommend.
The vegetables in the spring rolls were absolutely fresh. The Pad Thai was excellent. The service was friendly and attentive, but not overly so. I definitely will be going back!
Was pretty fresh. Food was good.
Great staff, extensive menu, love the crabpuffs
Delicious and great service as always!
Always great food and good service!! Thr eggplant dish is always my favorite!!
