Based on a recommendation from a friend I gave this place a try today and found the food to be quite delicious! Although for a bowl of red curry rice and Thai dumplings it turned out to be quite expensive. Service was lackluster and the restaurant is very simple, nothing fancy but clean.
During my road trip through this town, I was craving Thai food, and since this was the only Thai restaurant in town, I didn’t have much choice. Honestly, I didn’t have high expectations—I just hoped the food wouldn’t be disappointing. However, it pleasantly surprised me! The dishes were delicious and on average, leaving me very satisfied. If I visit this town again, I’ll definitely return for another meal.
Small hole in the wall restaurant but the food is fantastic. The yellow curry and the mango Paradise are the best I have had. The crab rangoons we're okay, score 4/5, could have had more crab flavor. Worth the 1 1/2 hour drive, will be back.
Returned 3 days later, Arigato, Pad Thai and Pad Kua Kai are also very good. Love the peanut sauce.
They maybe must have sold the place because the fried rice is NOT fried and the flavor is barely there .. it's white rice with flavor but not good flavor .. this was our favorite fried rice place. But the last few times have not been Thai. At all. Or even Chinese .. tastes like someone with zero experience cooks the food now . Definitely not worth the $ anymore
Thai Food Restaurant in Lake Havasu City is a small, perpetually understaffed and disorganized Thai restaurant that at least delivers on flavor.
I found the curry overcooked though and the pumpkin had fallen apart entirely. So the texture wasn't that great.
My father's mixed vegetables with Beef was pretty solid.
All in all, I think that the owners need to have an earnest conversation about properly staffing a restaurant.
But come on, it's Havasu and the only thing old boomers care about is money. A proper Thai place just couldn't survive on the fixed income citizenry here. So I'm sympathetic here.
Huge miss. The immediate red flag I should have noticed was the sign up front that provides an excuse for the sub par service you’re about to receive. Small businesses can still be run efficiently and effectively, find your weak spots and improve don’t just accept it and continue. On the night we went they had two servers, someone clearing and cleaning tables and they let us know they had two cooks. The service was unbelievably slow and chaotic at the same time. It was busy, as most all restaurants are on any special occasions so we expected a little wait. Luckily we only waited about 1.5 hrs for our food other customers around us were not as lucky. When confronted about this the waitstaff blamed togo orders!!! Its very common place for restaurants to no take togo orders when they are busy, I highly recommend this one do the same since they clearly cant handle anything more than the 20 or less table tops in house. Id love to say the food was so good it made up for the bad service and long wait, sadly it was just ok.
Where to start!?! Chao Praya is an amazing restaurant! We started with some crab rangoons with home made sause and these were the best tasting best looking ones we have ever had. We almost thought about just getting a few orders for dinner. I'm glad we didnt though because the spicy fried rice and the yellow curry lived up to the same expectation as the the crab rangoons. I recommend this place to everyone!
Nice people and good food, but the ambiance here is terrible! TV in loud in the background, dirty white walls, no charm whatsoever. This place could be such a nice place to eat, but the vibe is hectic and not very inviting. Also the staff always seem to be overwhelmed and disorganized. Again they try and do have decent food, just wish they would step up their game and make it into more of a dining experience instead of a half ass experience

Great Thai food

Great Thai food. Friendly service.

Great crab fried rice!
After a full day pontoon boating on the lake, we were pretty famished and our group threw in suggestions on what we'd like for dinner, a few came; pizza, burgers, pasta and I brought up Thai. That seemed to hit a chord.
We came to this place and put in our to-go order. The joint was busy, modest in decor, but had a sense of confidence that it was more than competent. We made the mistake of not ordering ahead of time so the wait was about 30 minutes, but that's on us.
Once we got home, everyone tore into their orders, from the egg rolls, to the various curries, mango chicken to my Pad Thai and for some moments after getting started, I got a bit worried. No one was talking for a while, but I soon realized that everyone was too busy enjoying their food and all is well at the ranch.
Be forewarned, their definition of spiciness heat level runs high so go easy at first unless you have an iron tongue. Happy eats in peace. :-)

I ordered shrimp curry paid $17.00 with only 3 shrimps.
Loved it
Standard Thai restaurant. Food was good, not great. You have to walk down an alley way to find the entrance.
Best Thai food in town 😁
Wish they sold beer wine and saki
Quick service, friendly and great phad thai
We eat here every visit to London Bridge Resort.
Real Thai food by an "old school" Thai family.
The son has taken over and the food is as amazing as ever. (10.2024)
I used to enjoy this place, however in one fell swoop - this time would be the last time. The food all had the same taste. Nasty fish tasting. And I like fish. But this wasn't right. The waitress (the only good thing about the place) said everything is cooked with the fish oil. It was just awful. So disappointing and one of those times that you just even regretted going to the place. It was so foul this time that I have no thought in mind to give it another go. I'll save my hundred.
The only good thing about this place was the waitress. The food was yucky. I took one bite of sweet & sour chicken and didn't like it at all, there was no sweet & sour about it. I'm sorry but I won't be back. My daughter took me and was excited to eat there again....she was so disappointed. The waitress was very nice and did a great job especially being the only one there. Sorry but only 1 star and that's for the waitress.

We absolutely love this place. It is a small hole in the wall, those usually have the best food right? Well there’s usually only one server on shift. Sometimes when extremely busy she service isn’t the best. We sadly expect that when we go and decide to dine in. The won ton soup is a must. The pad Thai…delish! We also love the orange chicken and garlic goodness. Appetizers we love the pot stickers and dumplings. The crab rangoons are good too!
Food is great every single time. I recommend any type of noodles they have it's all good. And the pineapple rice dish is so good. They have kids noodles my kids love. I come here often and it's just the best place in town to grab a good meal.!
Today my 2 friends & i tried this dince they have changed names... drunken noodles excellent, pho was excellent & the chicken yellow curry was so good we wanted to lick the dish... 6-13-2024... service was so good... we will beback soon!
So tried the drunken noodles... June 1, 2021... yummy.. service,, food excellent!!! Another amazing gem this is. I am blown away at the cute small restaurants in town. The food was awesome. Met a nice couple there that told us they'd been eating there for years. Next time... drunken noodles!!! Thai iced tea... wow... service great!
Lin's, Shogun and Sauske Sushi stand aside! This place has the best fried rice in town! I've been slowly trying other dishes as well and I'm never disappointed in taste. Thank you!
Pad Thai and fried rice are excellent. The wait was short on a Saturday at 4.30 pm.
I went in around 6pm and it wasn't that busy. There was one server sound friendly at first. I ask for no bean sprout in my soup....guess what half the bowl was with bean sprout...I was trying tocget most of it out since I don't like wasting food...the lady went to every table behind mine and saw all the bean sprout I try taking out. She finally came to my table and ask how the food....I told her it was good(is okay) and of course not happy because I did told her no bean sproud...she said "oh my bad" and mistaken your with someone else...I live here for a while and I guess I'm not giving this place my business...wasted $15 and she even have the balls to say whenever your ready you can pay in front...lucky I was in a good mood...don't expect much from this place but not much option out here...
Food and service were great, atmosphere a little warm for me but cool for rest of group. Great time
Tasty DELICIOUS Thai food, food cooked to order. It was worth the wait. SMALL restraunt with a older interior, but the food was cooked well!
I would give 5 stars if the food portions were what they used to be. The prices went up and the portions went down. I normally eat half my meal now, and half later. Now, I finish the entire dish and I'm not satisfied. I still like the place, the food is good, almost as good as mine. It's nice to take a break from cooking once in awhile.
They can get busy. Enough to where they don't answer the phone. You may need to show up and wait there for your order.
Really tiny side salads but their house egg dressing is delicious!
Curry: overpowered by bamboo shoots. BUMMER.
Bigger portion if you dine-in vs. take out
Heat level is not always consistent. Sometimes it's more hot.
Service is good. The server will multi task like crazy so walk-in with patience.
This is a high volume establishment because it is the only Thai restaurant in town. I hope the owners throw some money back into the decor, it needs help!! Overall a decent spot to fulfill a craving.
Super FAST service tonight!! Break neck speed! Delicious flavors! Drunken noodles with beef, Mango Paradise and Garlic Goodness are WINNERS in our book!
Order a day ahead for the Thai Spring Rolls!
Love this place. Best food in Havasu
If you come here expect to wait MINIMUM one hour for your food regardless of sit in or take out. Also tried to call in for over 30 min while on hold and ended up driving there to order take out. Way understaffed.
Friendly staff and super delicious food. I always get the yellow curry. It's the best.
The food is awesome with good size/adequate portions, however, the wait time is ridiculous.plan on 40+ minutes to get your food. One person can’t be the waitress, bus boy, salad maker, take phone orders and be the cashier. Hire more people, answer your phone for to go orders and don’t put people “on hold” and continue to talk for 3 minutes to other customers (I finally hung up). With more staffing they could improve. I have seen people sit down and wait 10 minutes without even getting a water and get up and leave. I informed the waitress of all this as well. Additionally, hire wait staff that don’t rant about the “other girl” or their personal problems.
Sweet little place. Awesome food 😋.
Update: We just made our second visit, this time for dinner. Food was still very good, but we waited an HOUR for our food. Sadly, they weren't even terribly busy. I just think the kitchen is inefficient. This was our last visit.
Excellent food but the server we had was the only one there and she was running around very hard to keep up. We'll definitely be back!
Did not go in
I ordered a shrimp Tom yum soup and a side of white rice. The soup only had 3 shrimp, 2 mushrooms, a couple tomatoes and onions. For $20 you should be ashamed for charging that much with literally nothing in the soup! And the taste was not all that. I would not recommend this place!
Changed owners recently. It isn't the same as it was unfortunately. Food quality took a pretty bad dip. 45 minute wait for pickup of two entrees. We are bummed out. There just isn't a good place for Thai in Havasu now.
Huge miss. The immediate red flag I should have noticed was the sign up front that provides an excuse for the sub par service you’re about to receive. Good Thai food. Made fresh when ordered.
Would not recommend this place at all... we just wanted to get some good spicy Pho (which is easy and fast to make) but got very rudely turned away and refused service 35 minutes before they closed. Go to Lin's Little China instead.
Seriously just close your business. I hear if you can actually get food it's pretty good. But rather than wasting people's time and your server sending people away and refusing orders, just shut the doors.
Great food and wonderful service
Food was amazing I recommend the black pepper chicken it's delicious. Our server was Tracy she is awesome very friendly. The cooks are the best
There is an ample amount of street parking available. We have to enter an alleyway to get into the restaurant. The staff is sweet. The food is good. I'm a vegetarian and got my food customized. The food came a little late to us. We waited more than 30 mins to get the main course.
Ordered pineapple fried rice w/beef to go.
Drove 20 minutes back to lodging.
Opened it up, no pineapple, no beef.
Just rice with egg.
/disappointing
First year: the Thai dishes are great including the Thai iced tea and iced coffee. I have tried the pad Thai, lunch fried rice, pad see yoo noodles and chicken satay. I have not tried the NONE Thai dishes (pho, orange chicken, etc..). The Thai lady owner Ms Vicky & her son who's also the night cook, are very friendly and accommodating. This place has a professional kitchen and food comes out ON TIME even when the place is packed. They do not close in the middle of the day to buy ingredients. Note #1: order spicy level #1 or #2. Number 3 feels like #4 or #5 already. try the [chicken] with green beans in a sweet spicy sauce; comes with rice. I highly recommend their "pineapple fried rice". Update:12-07-2023: lady employee was very kind enough to deliver the order to my car as I was incapable to go inside to pick up. Tyvm. Note: this used to be called CHAO PRAYA. Now it's just called "Thai food restaurant". Next time you are told by a racist loser to change whatever they hate about your business, you DON'T do that. There are also people in this town who will tell you to change the music you're playing while they eat the food you make for them. Do they even know they are GUESTS in your establishment?
What a great experience very good service very well prepared food it is such a hidden gem. If you haven’t been there, seek them out just off McCullough and enjoy. Christy is the COOLEST WAITRESS!
Wish they answered the phone. Not a great place to eat in at. Good food, would much Rather take it to go.
This place is hidden. Good food, great service.
Love there food ,but I chose Thai hot and it was not spicy at all.
Thanks
Excellent food!!!
It was small inside but the food was good.
Great service. Our waitress was very attentive, patient, and personable. My group ordered five different dishes, everything looked and tasted amazing! I would recommend the Chow mein and the spring rolls. I will definitely be going back.
Fyi- The bathroom has a key and is located in the hall.
Services was nice, food was pretty good.
First time visit. Menu was confusing. Waitress was super nice
This place is truly a hidden gem. The food is excellent. Service is great and all around great restaurant do yourself a dining favor.
Waited 30 minutes for a Togo order when they were not even busy. Prices are insane ended up getting a refund and leaving after waiting forever. Do not recommend
Used to be cheaper and much better service when they were chao praya
I can't say much because we weren't there but for a minute
The hostess was so rude that we left as soon as she made it apparent that we were NOT welcome, and it would be a while before we could be seated or waited on.
I would never treat a customer the way she treated us.
We went to Barley Brothers and had a wonderful dinner and spent $125.00 for two and was worth every penny
The pumpkin curry was delicious! The food came out hot and out server was friendly. I'll be back.
Would not recommend ! It’s our first time here and they don’t open on time nor do they answer the phone! Take your money and business to more professional businesses
Lunch special was yummy.
Red curry, yellow curry, and chow mein lunch specials were absolutely amazing. Food took a minute but it was definitely worth it. Probably my favorite Thai place I've been to in a while!
We come here every time we are in town.
Soooo good definitely one of my favorite Thai places. My only complaint is the portion sizes seem small for the price
The food is amazing and worth the wait. Be patient because this food is excelnt. The parking lot is a pain and the location sucks. Its i little hole in the wall place. The wait sucked and they have to turn the phones off because its so backed up but but wait! Its the best in town!
Great food. Quiet and peaceful.
Small but spacious good was fantastic. Little unknown gem.
We ordered for take-out and were told it would be ready in 45 minutes. We walked in 40 minutes later and waited another 30+ before we had it. We were offered sodas while waiting and the food was very good!
Place is clean & alming. Service is so sweet, welcoming, and easy to talk with. And SO YUMMY!!!!
Very very very good. I love how it's hidden away. And the Thai tea was amazing
Its my best friends favorite place .
Food was very good. Waitress was by herself but explained that to us when we arrived. Would go back again.
Try the Tom Kha Seafood, my new favorite Thai dish!
Very small place but, that only means your in for an amazing treat. One of my favorite restaurants in havasu
Wanting the summer rolls with shrimp having to order in advance 2 days. The description says stuffed! With shrimp carrots cucumbers lettuce mint leaves and Thai basil leaves served with peanut sauce! Yum !?? Lots of lettuce 1 long stalk of cucumber and shrimp? I had to look for it. Yeah on the mint leaves, delicious, no Thai basil. At 9.95 per order was a huge let down. Also ordered the pad see ew with beef. Flavor was great, but the beef was elusive, so disappointed. Thai dinner nights are always something to look forward to. Sad
Sign says closes at 830
Tried to call 3x since 730 with no answer
So I drove in my car and physically went there! I walked in stood there for awhile until some lady walked to the front from the back looked at me with the most discussed look, like I was in the wrong. This was at 750pm and she looked at her watch and said "yeah, it's probably not going to happen" THIS PLACE MUST NOT LIKE MONEY because I was about to spend over $150 worth like we do everytime we come in! Probably never going to order from this place again!
Great Thai food. All foods are fresh and delicious. Service is so good. Reasonable price & quantity. Highly recommended. I love the Thai tea.
Great food 😋 but the place needs more waitresses and the waitress that served during the day was very slow. The night waitress, however, was awesome 👌
Tiny portions. Best part was the crab Rangoon and the server. Ordered orange chicken and was shocked to get a tiny cut up chicken cutlet with some sauce over it. Won't return.
By Havasu standards it was good. Very very small portions. And only 1 dish at a time. So if you come with a group, 1 person is done before last person even gets their food.
This was great. The only reason for not getting 5 stars is because the spring rolls looked and tasted like an egg roll.
Stopped by for the lunch special. Great food at a good price!
Authentic flavors!!
I always hit this restaurant when visiting Lake Havasu and am never disappointed. Love love love their. food. Highly recommend.
Every dish I've tried had been excellent
Some of the best Thai I've had
Was really surprised about the quanity of food. My son placed an order for two Pad see ew w/chicken dinners for pick up. The amount in each container was less than half full. The prices have gone up and the portions are way less. I don’t know if I will return.
excellent meal.
great Thai Tea too!
Great food
Great Thai food considering it's the only one in Havasu. Service was great as well.
Really good food, the Penang curry and Pad Thai we had we're excellent and a very reasonable price. Nice friendly staff too. Take your own beer, only soft drinks provided
Perfect portion and price on lunch specials! One of my favorite places to meet girlfriends for lunch. Never too crowded and easy to carry on a conversation.
I will be going back! So tasty!
This ranks among the top 1-2 Thai restaurants we’ve ever had, and we make a point to visit at least one every time we’re on vacation. This is based solely on the food. The dining area is a little bright, and may not be considered “intimate,” but really… who cares when you’re eating amazing food? We love the Pumpkin Curry, Tom Kah Gai soup, and pineapple fried rice. Get the mango sticky rice for dessert, if they have it. It’s always sold out!
Love/Hate relationship with this place. I like their food. I usually order pad Thai with chicken. Half the time Nobody answers the phone. Seems like they don’t have enough help and shut down or unplug the phone which is annoying when you’re craving Thai & they’re the only place in town.
The oil used was old. The waitress are annoyingly kept on asking to pay whilst still eating. .saying 'let me know when ur done, i can help u in the counter'. We are still eating barely chewing oily food. Disappointed 😞 outside sign waa inviting. But food was disappointing upon tasting.
YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE! The front of house woman was so wonderful and cheery. She raved about their food and it did not disappoint. The pumpkin curry was too good. I say too good because I’m not from here but this curry is tasty enough to make me move!
So tasty, the yellow curry and the soups so good !!
Hidden gem.
Good food
Delicious! We had yellow curry and stir fry, meat clean and tender perfectly prepared great service. Definitely recommend!
Best Thai Lunch I've had in a while - Delicious!
Delicious!!
Great choices, pumpkin curry was great lots of flavor. Will definitely be going back to try more of the menu.
Great Thai food and service.
Good fresh food, Good service. Portions small for the price.
Great food and when waiting for food had amazing chat with the staff will come back again.
Chao Praya has top quality Thai food. We had the Pad Thai (made gluten free, as we required it), Yellow Curry and the Thai Fried Rice. All dishes were delicious! They met and exceeded our expectations in taste, ingredients and presentation. The staff is friendly, courteous and have speedy takeout service, so don't forget to tip! We look forward to returning to try more of their delicious dishes!!
The food was very tasty but the portions were small for the price. Also, if you are contemplating between the Pad Thai or the Pad-Se-Ew go for the Pad-Se-Ew.
Delish! Well worth your patronage when you visit LHC
Great food and great customer service!
Best Thai food in Havasu! The pad Thai and panang curry are great. They also make a wonderful Tom Yum soup.
Great food friendly staff!!
Sooo yummy!
They just don't answer the phone, hello!?
I work here, and the food is great! The Thai Tea is super good too :) I'd definitely reccomend the Yellow curry with beef.
Truly amazing authentic food with all the original flavors and tastes. Pricing perfect and the dining is great.
Not good service. Had to wait to get bill. Looked in kitchen to get help so I could pay bill.
Never asked how my meal was or if I needed anything else.
First time there. Food was great.
The best Thai food ever.....!
Worth the 120 mile round trip 😊
Good service, great food
Come to Havasu every winter for the last 6 years. First time we have tried this place. We will be back. Food was good, hot and just the spice you ask for.
To be honest, this restaraunt has the best Thai fried rice I've ever tasted 🤤 Nothing can beat that 😋 I just wish it expanded since I live in Gilbert like why do the best foods gotta be so far 🥲 Totally worth it to go a trip to Lake Havasu and also eat at this restaraunt while on vacation ☺
Not for me
This pho is best in town for sure
First time eating Thai food. It was very yummy. Will have to try it again.
