Excellent food!! Ordered takeout and The food was hot and ready when I arrived. Service was great. We ordered two different curries, both of which were flavorful and the portion size was generous. We also ordered fried rice and ginger chicken. Every one of us loved our food. We will be back.

There is no difference between Thai Hot, Medium, and No Spice. I know this is Gilbert but if I request you kill me with spice, please do.

This place used to be the one of the best Thai food places in the area, but recently the quality has gone completely out the window unfortunately. The past two times I bought food here, it was a waste of $20. The red curry tasted like spicy water and the pad Thai was gritty like there was sand in it. I wish they would bring back the good food 😔 I don’t usually leave reviews, but this is just incredibly disappointing.

Had this for the first time tonight. I ordered the panang curry. Absolutely incredible!! Reminded me of home instantly. Beautiful portion sizes. Worth your money. Flavors are on point and immaculate. The food is very obviously made fresh as well. Zero red flags!

The yellow curry chicken was delicious, perfect level of spice at medium & great depth of flavor. The white rice was perfectly fluffy too! The Ta Lew rolls were great- flavorful & fried to perfection. Almost don’t need the dipping sauce. Can’t wait to try some other dishes soon!

Used to come here because its close. Will not be back. Charging someone $3 to swap onions for carrots because they cant eat carrots is not ok. It literally costs you nothing to grab a pinch of onion vs a pinch of carrots.

Ordered 2 dishes to-go.
1) Panang curry, mild. It was absolutely tasteless, no spice at all, and almost as the ingredients are floating in red water, zero thickness to the sauce. No description of the ingredients on the menu, order must be based on picture, which shows it has snap pees in it. We got only green bell peppers, onions and carrots. Cheapest and smallest shrimp.

2) Green curry, no spice. It was spicy and salty. A bit better thickness as the red curry and the only thing it goes for it as the ingredients were just as on the dish's picture.

Wish we have eaten in the restaurant and could have complained right away.
Living 30 min away and wanted to try something new, but for sure we won't be back (except for refund)!

I have lived in AZ for 8 years now, and have been searching for great Thai food. My search is finally over!!! Ta Lew was absolutely amazing. I ordered Chicken pad Thai, it was so flavorful, full of sauce, fresh and incredible. My husband had the pad see ew, and same thing! We will be back!!!! If you're wanting great real thai food, this is the place. Worth the drive from anywhere in the Valley, all their 5 star reviews are deserved!

I have tried over 100 Thai restaurants all over the world, and this place is my favorite. Even the best restaurant can have a bad day. I found this place to be very consistent in quality, it ranges from very good to the best you have ever eaten, depending on who the cook is that day. I wish I could find out the days my favorite chief works. The prices are reasonable for the outstanding quality food you receive.

Vegetable melody we requested supposed to be fully vegetarian. But, it had a peace of beef in it. When I talked them, they said, they cannot do anything about it since the order was placed with Uber.

Had to go back on my 5 star review because the second time I went it was terrible. Chicken is tough (which it was before too) but on top of that the soup and curry has a weird fishy taste and smell. Completely inedible. Soup isn’t even made with the same ingredients/veggies. The rolls were completely stale and soggy on the inside. Really wanted to like this place since it’s the second time I’m ordering in the same week but wish i could give it 0 stars for inconsistency and weird taste. Better off going somewhere else so you don’t waste 25 dollars like I did.

I have ordered many times at this location on Highley and Ray and the food is always delicious, but the amount of protein in The dishes has gradually shrunk. The last time I ordered I thought it was a fluke, but this time I ordered and got even less. It was maybe half a chicken breast in the sweet and sour dish. I love that the food is fresh and lots of veggies but they are skimping on the protein and that’s the main thing you pay for. I asked my husband and he said his dish was the same. Little protein. Disappointed bc the food is great.

Ordered food through Uber and it was excellent. Good portions that provide plenty of meat and veggies. The medium heat was perfect. Definitely getting added to my list of restaurants I will frequent.

The Pad Thai was surprisingly dry. The drunken noodles were better, but nothing amazing. Not sure if it was a one off but every was just very dry.
The mango sticky rice was amazing, as were the crab puffs. I want to go back and try the curry's; they looked great and won't have to worry about if it's dry or not

Mediocre Thai food. No where to sit on site so you must take away. I found it to be pretty disappointing overall for a place rated so highly.

Pretty decent. I wanted number 4 on the heat and received Thai Hot. I had to take it home and add can of coconut milk. I had some extra rice around and got 3 lunches out of it so great value if you do this.

I was so hopeful to find a great Thai restaurant. Tonight it was not. Perhaps it was just a bad night? I ordered Pad Thai with chicken. There was not enough sauce in the dish and the noodles were so overcooked that they were disgusting mush.
The place is a bit pricey for Take-Out only but amount of food for the price is good. Sad. The Pad Thai at at *Thai* restaurant should be top-notch. I might give it one more try.

Absolutely NO substitutions. I have a genetic variation that requires a low histamine diet (no potatoes or peppers among other challenges). That limited the menu to very few items for me. Even though it was early and very slow (nobody else in line or arriving the whole time we waited) they wouldn’t substitute Bamboo shoots from another dish for potatoes in the yellow curry.

Got the yellow curry it was good but I wanted chicken. There was barely any chicken but a whole potato practically. No thanks not worth the money.

I used to frequent this place when I lived a little closer to the area - it was always fine and fulfilled my Thai food cravings. I recently went back after a few years and was SO disappointed. First of all, they don’t let you dine-in anymore, which is a shame because their interior with the upstairs seating was so fun and cute. I just asked why, they replied “because of covid restrictions”. I didn’t question or fight it but I went in Feb of 2023.. not a lot places that still enforce these rules nearly 3 years after restrictions were lifted. The food however is what left me so disappointed. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao, Eggplant, and some fried rice. WOW, it was so awful. The eggplant dish was..mushy. Yeah eggplants can get that way, but you just have to try it to understand. There wasn’t a single piece of whole eggplant in the entire dish.. just dissolved into the heavy, sweet sauce. The noodles were so terrible, had a sour vinegar-y taste, and had no color to it. Like a pale white color. Fried rice just has no flavor.. like rice fried in oil. We couldn’t finish anything and threw it away.. Would not recommend to anyone or return.

We read the review online and decided to order 2 fried rice and 2 pad see ew to take out. The food was not cooked properly after we picked it up. The fried rice rice was soggy and wet, and the vegetables and meat were boiled. They mixed rice with boiled vegetables and meat and called it fried rice. This is terrible. Why are you in business to cheat and lie?

First time the food was great. I returned they got my order wrong. So I ordered again and made it wrong again. She said on the phone I can take off what I do not want to eat? Ummm. What? This is highly inappropriate and unethical to say to a client. Complete discrimination. No thanks. I didn’t know you could tell me how to eat and what to eat. I thought that is why we lived in the United States. Discrimination is real.

Usually Thai food is flavorful, but this was very bland. The fried rice had no flavor, was filled with what seemed like at least half a cabbage, and probably frozen pees & carrots. The Pad See Ew was over filled with carrots. The beef and chicken aren't marinated or seasoned at all. The rice from the mango sticky rice was mush and was way too sweet. I will say the mango was perfectly ripe. 🤷🏽‍♀️ It was all very plain with no flavor. 😬 We didn't finish any of it. Definitely not worth the money.

Good food but sometimes there’s a girl working the front counter who’s really just not friendly and it makes it too uncomfortable to be there. So if you’re already kinda down I’d say eat somewhere else

It had a tuna like texture and it smelt too fishy. It was mushy. I hit the chicken panaang curry. It was good flavor. I would go back and try a few more dishes.

The pineapple fried rice is so good, the first time I went a month ago the pad thai was great. Last time it was burnt and a lot of noodles were stuck together and very flavorless

I don’t understand the decent rating. I’ve lived in Thailand twice and was married to a Thai woman for 4 years. I’m also from one of the most Asian influenced cities in the US and have tried Thai food from over 100s of restaurants. I’ve seen it all from ketchup to broccoli and carrots in my Phad Thai. But never has the food tasted as bland as it was coming from Ta Lew. The food looked great but tasted very plain, the Phad Thai had a flight sour taste to it and the yellow curry was so runny it was like a soup. The curry was so low in flavor that I ate the curry and rice at a soupy consistency. Never have I ever seen Thai food this bland. I know my food, I’ve traveled extensively and have been around for many years. Japanese food although delicious maybe bland compared to Thai or Indian food, but Thai food is not like what I received today. I would not go again.

Family owned to-go restaurant. Few tables to sit around while you wait for your order. Friendly staff and prompt response. Call ahead for your order to pick up. Panang curry and Pad thai are good. Taste is definitely good but the price is above average comapred to restaurants around. Defintely at higher price point for a to-go place with no dine-in service.

I don’t taste peanuts at all in this sauce. It tasted like coconut milk. Prices are high for what we got. Very disappointing all around, sorry to say.

I went in for lunch and it says it 9.95 for lunch chicken Thai basil and she said they changed it, but the website isn’t up to date. Then they want to charge 2.50 Extra for brown rice. So the total would’ve came to 16.50 for spicy Thai basil no thanks! I will be reporting to better business bureau as they should honor price it says online. If you look below the website shows this. They were trying to charge 14 plus 2.50 extra when the meal already comes with white. As a business owner for weights and measure they should’ve honored the price. But we left I will

This place take out orders only when we got their the parking lot was dark and no cars in the lot, but they are open. It is clean and friendly when you get inside. The service was quick.

The menu looks good. The location is nice. The prices seem ok.

But this place is a big fail for lunch.

That's right- as a lunch option, this is a bust. No place to sit and eat. Take out only. Most places are passed this and have made proper precautions to be safe and handle customers in location now. This restaurant is located in a busy lunch district, but they are basically telling people "don't come here".

When you are working and ready to go to lunch, you don't want to drive somewhere, order, wait and pick up food, only to have to drive back to your office. Then the food is cold, you've wasted time and you have the mess to deal with.

If you are going to be open for lunch, add some tables and let people eat on site. Otherwise, just keep your hours to dinner when people want takeout at home.

This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Gilbert. I highly recommend the yellow curry, and pineapple fried rice! Also, the owners are great people and remember me by name when I walk through the door. Great food!

I see the high reviews. In general I believe the quality is going down to a point where wife does not want to order from here anymore. We’ve ordered here for a long time. I would agree. The beef was super bland. The curry was meh. The spring rolls were tough as if old and reheated. And the Pad Thai was the worst The leftovers of the pasta ended up in a semi hard ball of tough, dry noodles. All the leftovers went to the rubbish bin. Even my previously fave Crab fried rice. Sorry.

Stopped in six or seven times now and each trip in they have been 🔥 The staff is friendly and quick to hand you your order of hot fresh goodness :) They are still currently to go only so we will usually take it around the corner and enjoy it at 12 West Brewing Co over a pint of Super Beaker

Simple menu and good food watch the heat its kind of inconsistent

Very kind staff and the food is great. We have ordered here probably 6 times this year at least. Highly recommend the yellow curry and getting enough for leftovers. Taste even better after a day in the fridge.

Food was pretty good for what it was. It was way too expensive!! 4 items cost $50 and this food is not $50 quality.

Absolutely shocked at how bad the shrimp pineapple fried rice was. This place was recommended to us by a friend and I cannot believe how disappointing it was. The pad thai was very meh, the veggie egg rolls were okay, but I my fried rice tasted steamed out of a frozen bag. Trader Joes frozen fried rice is legitimately better.

I absolutely adore this little restaurant. Very authentic and very delicious! The lunch specials are amazingly delicious. Staff has always been in a nice mood too.

I have ordered here a few times and normally the food is decent. However tonight i ordered the Evil Jungle Princess, and not only did i find a hair in my food, but the meal basically tasted like vinegar. Couldnt even finish it. Sadly, i probably wont order here again.

The food had a decent flavor. However the salad was hot and withered like it was heated not the best taste and made the salad inedible. Quality and care was not executed in my meal.

Have not been here in a year. Their food is very very good but not worth the hassle of only offering takeout. They are still requiring masks to enter. They still only offer takeout. When I entered the restaurant, most of the workers were NOT wearing masks and they requested that I put one on. I probably won't be back. I gave a 3 because the food is good but the rest gets a 1.

We recently moved to Gilbert and this place was closest to us and had good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We were utterly disappointed with the food quality. We ordered Pineapple fried rice and basil fried rice and both were not good. Vegetables were uncooked and food was lacking taste. Will look for some other Thai restaurant near by.

So so good. Fresh. Flavor that will knock your socks off (even if you wear sandals)! You'll be hooked the first time you try it.

Update 2021 Still great! So good. And pick up is seamless. They are also so happy when you walk in the door. They always greet you so kindly. Order out from Talew Thai Bistro. The food is amazingly delicious. You'll be glad you did.
