Overall was good, broth needs to be more rich thou. I tried the beef rice noodles soup and it was not that good but I’ll give it six out of 10. The mango stick rice was awesome as usual, so that saved the day. Probably will need to try something new next time their soup was not really tasty. The soup portion was really big I think it’s oversized.
After moving to Arizona a few months ago, I came across this restaurant right next to my workplace. Since then, I’ve been back at least 20 times, and it’s become a go-to spot for me. The staff truly deserve recognition—they’re not only respectful but also genuinely attentive, always making sure that every visit feels welcoming. The chefs maintain an impressive level of consistency with every dish, ensuring quality time after time. I’ve never had a bad experience, and it’s clear that the employees take great pride in their work. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service.
Authentic food, great service, accommodating for my picky dinner partner (“Can I get that without onions?”), and a clean dining environment. Started with Angry Edamame, which could’ve actually been spiced a little hotter with chili sauce and flakes, but I just added chili sauce from the table. For my main dish I had the Thai Basil with chicken, tasty, medium spicy, with sticky rice. Yummy sauce. My friend chose the yellow curry and really liked it. A spicy dish with a hint of sweet from the coconut milk. All in all, not expensive and great food.
The food was great. The service was good although the restaurant was busy. I went with coworkers in a party of 6 for lunch. We arrived early to get a table before 12pm. I had the fried rice with tofu and the food was really great.
The place is small so if you're with a party of more than 4 get there early or you may have to wait.
The place recently changed owners and also the name. It was our go to restaurant for a lot of team lunches but lately the quality of the food has gone down tremendously. On my recent visit, I ordered pineapple fried rice with tofu and a level 4 spice; the food tasted bland and also had excessive turmeric. There were no veggies at all. When we gave the feedback to the server; the response was yes the owner is new which is why the taste is not the same. It was a regular lunch place but I’m afraid, with this quality of food; I may not be going here the next time.
One of the worst meals I’ve ever had. This restaurant is where food goes to die.
Delicious food, wonderful staff and cozy atmosphere! Services is top notch.
The best Pad Thai I've had!! Staff are very very friendly. Glad to have them nearby!
I not too long ago left this place and I'll definitely be going back.
They were so nice and chill, the food was great with just the right spice and bomb flavor.
Good convo and they know their football. 👍🏿👍🏿
The fried fish with spicy sauce is excellent, We requested Thai spice and it met our expectations. My son particularly love Pad thai ❤️.

great service & lunch specials
I ordered pho here not too long ago and I should’ve walked out as soon as she asked what noodles I would like with my pho. I simply said “oh just the regular pho noodles”.
First of all, who puts pad Thai noodles in pho? I’ve never had it like that.
Second of all, nowhere on the ingredients listed, did it say there would be mushrooms.
When I got it, I tried to keep an open mind when it came to the Thai noodles in place of regular rice noodles. But then I noticed there were mushrooms in my pho. That was when I was like “yeah I’m not eating that.” Because I can’t have mushrooms.
So I tell the server that I didn’t know there were mushrooms in it because it wasn’t listed. Then she was like “oh I’m sorry, why didn’t you say anything about no mushrooms?” Well I definitely would have if she told me there were mushrooms or if it was listed. I said it was okay and that I’d just like to stick with the ice cream and Diet Coke.
She never came back for the pho until the very end when she was brought the check, she was about to charge me for the pho I didn’t eat.
I said “so I’m still getting charged for the pho even though I didn’t eat it due to mushrooms being in there.” She goes “well yeah. Umm I’m not sure. The owner isn’t here.”
What does the owner have to do with it if she ain’t here?
Eventually she took off the pho and I paid.
If you’re going to sell pho, don’t sell halfassed pho with ingredients not listed. Better yet, get a better cook who actually knows what pho is.
Amazing food and amazing service! Adriana was our server and she was absolutely professional, kind and super knowledgeable! We had a lovely time!
This place just changed ownership and name. The portions are smaller! They automatically add 20% tip with 3% CC charge on the overall bill.
Picked up curry for dinner and it was delicious! Ordered with veggies instead of meat and they came in with lots of veggies—no skimping here!
This place just changed ownership and name. They tried to convince me that the food was the same. Do not believe it. I ordered yelow curry instead of carots and potatoes it had noodles that made the container look full but there was half of the usual amount of wattered down curry in it. I also ordered lo main overcooked noodles looked like preheated from yesterday. Hope you read this review and order from somwhere else. It is not the same food.
I think I prefer the old restaurant better. Now a CC surcharge is automatically included in the bill. Even though we paid with cash, the charge was still included in the total.
Bring back Thai Basil!! I ordered a chicken panang curry tonight and it had absolutely no panang flavor, the only vegetables added were bell peppers and onions (there were about 50 onions), the rice came out cold, and the curry was luke warm.
I don’t believe in asking for refunds, but if I did this is one of the situations where I would.
A frequent diner at this place.
We drive a long way because my wife enjoys their salmon.
We were just a bit shy of the dinner menu time
My wife asked Samantha if she might be able to get Salmon and pay the full dinner price.
Samantha took hell out on my wife.
I mean hell.
She left for the car weeping.
We are both doctors and our time together is priceless to us.
I approached Samantha as we are frequent guests.
I nneded to not let this stand.
She denied it was her!
Said she would discipline the server.
She WAS the server.
Yes!
She was the manager, owner and the server!
And, a coward.
i am sorry would have been enough.
Hence a reveiw...
I am very upset.
Why at a non busy time.
Forget the food.
I will never set foot in that place again!
Our friends in our neighborhood also will never enter for fear this lady going nuts again.
I read the reviews....
very common sentiment.
Samantha, I am so disappointed in you.I
Thai basil in chandler is great. The way you’re welcomed as soon as you walk in, they give you some soup while you wait and their pad Thai is my favorite. Came in today and the lady immediately knew my order bc I come here often. So that was thoughtful. Made me see that I wasn’t invisible.
Great tasting food. Intimate dining room. Waitress is worth a fortune to the owner. Cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. Portions were huge.
We used to come here frequently and it was great. However lately the curry comes watered down and light on protein.
I often get my takeout lunch here. The main lady at the front desk is nice. Always speak in a tone making you feel welcomed.
Food is good but the whole ordering and take out experience makes it better.
Ordered green curry, it was watery almost like a soup. I wonder if it was a one-of bad day, but I doubt I’ll be going back to find out
Overall was good, broth needs to be more rich thou. I tried the beef rice noodles soup and it was not that good but I’ll give it six out of 10. The mango stick rice was awesome as usual, so that saved the day. Probably will need to try something new next time their soup was not really tasty. Great thai. Curry great. Pad thai a classoc hiy. Server diligent but would be if fully sated with guests.
Pretty good Thai food. I went there for lunch. It's around 12-15USD per person. Lots of people go there.
The food was delicious, hot and large portions. Best fried rice we ever had.
Great Panang chicken lunch special. Especially at Thai Hot level
This is an unassuming place in a strip mall. Other ethnic restaurants nearby. Simple menu with the basic Thai foods All arrive at your table perfectly made. This restaurant is reliably good
Both gluten free and vegetarian options. Don't know about vegan.
You may choose your preferred spicy 🔥 level. If you choose "Thai Hot" you had best be from Thailand!
One of the best Thai restaurants I have eaten at. I can totally recommend this one.
Made an online order and paid for it, but when we arrived the restaurant was closed even though google maps says its open. They need to say they're closed and not allow online orders.
The staff was very attentive from the second I opened the door to walk in and the food was amazing, I recommend this place 100%
Food quantity is good but not the quality.
Visited this place for dinner and I was extremely pleased with our experience. The service was great and the food was exceptional. Felt like we were in a local Thai kitchen. I’ve visited a lot of Thai restaurants and this one stood out. Was close to giving this place a 5, but just wish there were crab Rangoon’s on the menu (they’re my guilty pleasure). Definitely will be back! 🙂
As always, I ordered pad Thai with chicken. Same delicious noodle dish as all of the other locations! Unfortunately my sister's order came with chicken instead of tofu in the pad see ew she ordered but luckily she's not a vegetarian! The food was piping hot when we ate after picking it up. I love how they always add a slice of lime and peanuts in the food, but I would LOVE if they also added cilantro. Hint hint. Lol regardless Thai Basil is great with consistently dishing out delicious food.
Always the best tasting Thai food.
Always an excellent experience!
Thai fried rice cold ... not enough vegetables or chicken. Pad Thai did have any beef after I was charged extra $4.99+$12.99 for plate.
We ordered Pad Thai and orange chicken. The pad thai was too sour and orange chicken were fried chicken nuggets dripped with sweet spicy sauce on top. I am eat most Asian restaurant this is below average. Very disappointed.
Chicken was of the worst quality. Ordered a bbq chicken dinner. Could not believe what I received. It was cold, it was a frozen processed chicken breast. Nothing about my experience with this place was delicious or even good. This was an Uber eats. Thin frozen processed chicken breast with grill marks. Better chicken is sold at food city in the discount meat section ( if they have one I’m not sure) never again!
I went here last week and as soon as I walked in I was met with a smile and asked how I could be helped.
I asked questions about certain items and ingredients and all my questions were answered with a smile. I usually have yellow curry but was recommended to try green curry and it was fantastic. I will for sure eat at Thai Basil again and recommend you try for yourself.
We just ordered one soup ..they charged extra for protein.. which recently started in many restaurants..finally we got half of the tumbler.. price is 16$.. which is very disappointed.
Always tasty.
Good Thai food. Sorry they stopped serving my favorite...chicken sates
Excellent Drunken Noodles dish, great Thai Iced Tea, really good vegetable soup! Great service with a smile, friendly staff, and very clean restaurant!
Came here today for the first time and last. This is the Chandler one near Rural and McCormik. Chicken was not fresh, definately from last night or even before. Very tough. Quite disappointed because came here with high hopes. Informed the server and they gave a discount. But when a person is out, this experience kills the mood. Thanks for ruining my Saturday night.
Food was not good at all. I could not finish or even attempt to finish my plate. The chicken Thai basil was so chewey and my husband's pad thai chicken was also very chewy. Had high hopes as we love thai food. But definitely would not recommend.
Authentic food, great service, accommodating for my picky dinner partner (“Can I get that without onions?”), and a clean dining environment. Started with Angry Edamame, which could’ve actually been spiced a little hotter with chili sauce and flakes, but I just added chili sauce from the table. A spicy dish with a hint of sweet from the coconut milk. All in all, not expensive and great food.
My first experience with Thai food restaurants I mostly eat Korean food being 25% Korean I tried there lunch special Thai fried rice it’s delicious I’ll definitely go there again highly recommend check out my YouTube channel AnimeTyler toons for anime and cartoon clips and original animated videos every first Friday of the month
Really good pad Thai 👌
Always a good meal
The staff gave me really good service. The place was very clean & A very Nice looking atmosphere.
Everything I ordered was absolutely delicious! I had the spring rolls delicious;Thai fried rice without meat, the vegetables & rice was seasoned to a perfection. I didn't need any sauce; Barbecue char-broiled pork was good, but I had to grill it a little longer for my taste. The pork definitely had good favor.
Great fast food, server was so nice.
OMG I couldn't believe it, this was my first time there, my family and I stop there after we picked something from offer up. I don't recommend this place at all, server was very rude, we paid and walked out and the boss literally walked out yelling at us that why we didn't leave a tip and that we where not allow to go there anymore. He said " person cook for you and you no leave tip, why you thing server don't cook for free" I then said sorry but server gets a pay check and I never heard of any restaurant that forces you to leave a tip. If they would've been polite and not rude I would've gladly had left a tip, never will I recommend this place nor go ever again, first time and last time for me
The Food was delicious. The service was great!!! The lunch specials were reasonable.
Mistakenly ordered from Thai Basil Chandler instead of Ahwatukee. Chicken satay was basically 3 thick pieces of grilled chicken without the skewers. The peanut sauce and the cucumber dipping on the side was pretty bad. Chicken in the pad Thai tasted funny. Couldn't eat beyond couple of spoons. Never ordering again from this place!
The spicy fried rice was really good. It was actually spicy which was nice. The service was good as well.
The menus are pretty dated with price changes drawn in and tape over dishes no longer served. The place was a little dusty and could use a deep clean.
Good food. Great service. Never a wait.
Delicious food. Warm, friendly atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend!
A great place to eat for lunch! I go here almost every day for my break..I get one hour on my lunch and I can sit down and order, take my time eating, and be at work with time to spare! The food is amazing and the staff works hard to get good food out to their customers.
Peccato. Adoro la cucina tailandese, ma devo aver sbagliato ristorante. Zuppe insapori, funghi crudi, carne dura, insomma una delusione.
Locale poco accogliente e servizio molto sommario.
The food was very poor quality and didn’t even taste like Thai. Very disappointed.
Stop then for lunch and receive fast service for some tasty food. Recommended for a quick lunch.
Best Thai - fresh & healthy!
Good good. Belly happy.
Great food great employees, Tom yum soup is to die for here with shrimp noodles, been going there for 11 years always a great experience.
This was a great experience. Small with big atmosphere. The coconut soup my friend had was spicy and delicious. I judge off the green seafood curry, it was full of flavor, plenty of meat. Very well done.
Green curry chicken surprisingly lacked flavor. Would recommend going to a different Thai Basil
Good and fast service, I order the peanuts curry, was very good.
My favorite place to go for Thai food!
The Orange chicken was good!
My wife rarely goes to the same restaurant twice. We have returned here again and again. Never disappointed. When I ask for mild, I get mild. We have friends that feel the same way.
Best Thai in the Chandler area!! Always consistent with their delicious food and very nice staff.
Thai Basil has excellent service, Awesome staff!! Great Food !!! Clean Restaurant 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
GREAT JOB
Great, tasty and plentiful Thai food. We've gone back several times.
So since I had the spicy noodles last week I have thought about it on and off since then. Super amazing taste and owners. I am going to take the thoughts away today and make it reality today ❤️
Food is super tasty. The staff is nice too. I am a little worried about the dirty ceiling but one can always order takeout.
Nice Thai restaurant. I’ve only had the spicy basil with beef so far and it was very good, service is good as well. Definitely will be back. Check it out.
Best best best Thai food around. Love the Pad See Ew and the Panang Curry with chicken. Vegetables are always perfectly cooked, their spring rolls are amazing. To top it off they always have excellent service.
Always friendly and welcoming staff! Food is great! Always consistent👍👍👍
It's OK, but I prefer Thai Rama.
This place has ridiculous hours. Arrived one evening for dinner - says open at 5pm. By 5:30, we just left. Then we were in the area again for lunch. We show up one hour prior to closing for lunch hours and they refused to seat us because they are were closing.
The waitress was very friendly. Love the vegetable soup and curry. I can't wait to come back again. I would recommend this place to all my friends.
I thought the rice was really great, service is good, but the little appetizer soup for the lunch and my lunch dish were way salty and the peanut sauce for our rolls was fermented tasting. Prices are also good and food is served quickly.
I haven't been to this location for a number of years and I was disappointed.
We should have told the server about the peanut sauce.
Tried this place for the first time and I am a fan. The beef panning curry was delicious and the staff were very kind and considerate to its customers.
Thank you Thai basil I look forward to my next visit.
Very good food but hot
Excellent pick up dining experience. Order placed at 9pm, ready at 9:15pm. The Penang Curry with beef was very tasty. They provided a large container with plenty of veg throughout. It was a generous portion and I will return.
PS: Staff continues to mask, thank you for protecting yourselves and your patrons.
Red curry (I added mushrooms) was perfect.
We
Absolutely amazing tasting food. Had the Spicy noodle which is my favorite. Decided to get the Green Curry as well and so happy with it. Love that it had eggplant in it. I would recommend for sure. Thai Coffee as well. Very good.
Been coming here for years and they've always been great, but lately they have been better than ever. Whoever is cooking evenings in the kitchen right now is absolutely fantastic! Love the food! Vegan / Vegetarian friendly as well.
Really like this place. Food is delicious, it is always clean and staff is very kind.
Small place, clean, excellent service. Very good food. I had chicken satay and Thai fried Rice. Medium spice will try mild next time as medium was a bit toward the hot side.
Excellent service, very nice people. Great tasting food 😋
I went there ten minutes ago . Ordered Togo. Food is cold wrong order too much price fir the food I order. And I gave five polars tip. Coconut juice is taste like horrible. I was wondering I ordered 4 manu. Omg it’s so quick to cook it 20 minutes that’s all it takes for one person cooking ito can see her no ones there but her food is horrible. I’m not going back there I think what she served me is left over from someone that eat there.my bill was $59 dollars for 4 orders.
Excellent service and delicious food. As a strict vegetarian staff know that yellow curry is a suitable option.
Extremely sour soup. Super salty entrees. Raw prawns, prawns need to be cook more thoroughly. 2 stars for the service only!
I love this place. They tend to be busy but that's because the food is good! lol I love the Chicken Noodles. The spices are delicious. I like it fairly mild but my fiancé likes it very spicy and we're both satisfied when we go here. Good service too. The spring rolls are yummy as well. :)
Delicious!!!
This place serves good food. Especially the red curry.
Soup was amazing!
Wonderful food, friendly staff.
Absolutely love this place! It's my go-to place when I'm craving pad thai or when my family is going out for Thai food!
Love the pad thai
So I just recently moved to the area and was looking for a good thai place. I ordered at around 6:30pm 2/23/2020. I have been to a Thai basil before, the one on Tempe by ASU and they were an ok Thai place, they weren't great by any means but just ok. This one in Chandler however is really bad. So I pretty much test most thai places on how well they cook their pad se ew. I think this is the first time that I really really hated it. There were no eggs, soy sauce was non existent, and to top it off the amount for $12 was less than what i got for lunch menu in other place. Do yourself a favor and skip this specific Thai Basil.
I visited Thai basil in scostsdale multiple times, taste was nice over there and wanted to try in chandler...taste over here is not great...it's not worth
Good food, fast and friendly service
This is my favorite quick lunch spot. Good food at a great price. You can get in and out for having a one hour lunch.
They have been consistently good for years. Great quick and healthy lunch spot. My favorite dishes are the garlic tofu and the green curry.
Out of all Thai restaurants that there’re in Phoenix, Thai basil tops it all. Not once it has disappointed us. Their spice levels are always what they’re supposed to be.
Good
Great service. Food is a little spicy so definitely account for that.
Good food, good service and nice small environment
Nice food
Excellent food, prices very reasonable, great service!
I absolutely love this place. The food is fresh and deliciously seasoned with wonderful customer experience.
Some of my favorite Thai food.
Love Thai Basil is always quick and food is great. If you like Thai foods this is one of the better spots!
Great Thai. Had the Tom Ka and red curry. Customer service was great. I'll definitely go back!
Fast and friendly service. Can't beat the lunch special!
Thai Basil has a good assortment of dishes on their lunch menu. The food came quick and was temperature hot. They provide customers an opportunity to choose taste level hot at the time of ordering. This was my second time at the restaurant and I plan to return. Many of my company colleagues frequent the establishment.
Edamame is a small portion size for $5, curry was watery with no flavor or spice despite ordering medium.
Update 9/30/19: Amazing service and as always amazing food.
Horrible service. 1 lady. Very mean. Food was excellent though. Whoever worked 1/2/19 in the evening time, BE KIND.
Really good thai food. We all took different dishes.. spanning rice noodles with prawn, fried rice with chicken and a more traditional sauteed vegetables with chicken. Alk the dishes were good. Only suggestion would be to add more vegetables to the dishes.
Staff was nice. New to curry - yellow curry and sticky rice are great!
Lunch was good and at a good price. Be warned it can be very spicy. One at our table thought it was too much even at medium level. Not too busy for a Monday at noon.
