RUDE OWNER AND FOOD WRONG! I had never eaten here before and decided to give it a try because my regular Thai place was closed. I ordered over the phone after work and went to pick it up. As I pulled in, on the right side of the shack it said place order here, then the left side said pickup. There are no signs posted saying one way, or do not enter. So I thought maybe I go to the left on the pickup side, but that seemed odd cause then I'd have to grab my food across the passenger side. I pulled up then realized I probably did pull in the wrong way and was about to start moving to turn around, no cars were around, and the owner opened the window and started aggressively telling me to turn back around, which that didn't bother me cause I did pull up wrong and it was my error. However, I turn my car around and then as I'm paying with a different employee, the owner shouts over asking "do you live here?" I said yes but I've never been here before since I'd normally eat at Pad Thai. She then proceeds to belittle me and say how did I think I could pick up my food that way and goes on trying to insult me. I always tip, but the fact she chose to be rude as I'm paying, I decided to not tip for once. THEN I get home and see my dish that I ordered with tofu, is full of chicken and not a single piece of tofu! I called them and told them the food was wrong and the owner said I could get it replaced, but I was so furious at this point and told her I didn’t want to come back to replace it. She then tried calling me back to offer a refund. If she had simply been nice and not gone out of her way to degrade me when I picked up the food, then I would have agreed to that and given them a second chance! I have 10 years of restaurant experience, restaurant supervisor for 3 years, and now work in tourism. It is ridiculous to be that rude to new customers and I will continue eating at my regular Thai place.

Alright, they've redeemed themselves in my book. I was annoyed when they were closed for the winter but was still listed as open. They're open now so I gave them a try.
No papaya salad since it's out of season. I got the green curry with chicken ($17) and it was delicious! Large portion and the chicken was flavorful and tender. The vegetables were fresh; you could really taste how fresh the basil was.
The service was good too. The lady inside was friendly, down-to-earth, and funny. I'm glad was able to give them a try.

My preferred place for authentic Thai food in the area. Jungle curry was really addicting and spicy. Dry ground pork curry was very delicious. The Thai style chicken wings could of used a spicy dip on the side but still good.

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and have missed really amazing thai food.
I randomly came upon this place and Decided to give it a shot…. I’m so glad I did! The food is so fresh and so authentic and the owner is super sweet.
I took a bite and closed my eyes, felt like I was transported back!!
If you love authentic thai food, the Bangkok is a must try!

Joy saved the last ingredients for a papaya salad for me, and also made a most delicious tofu larb salad. Nothing like enjoying music at the Farmers Market, seeing and talking to wonderful people there while waiting to get my order. And then enjoying the sand hill cranes too on pond behind on this most wonderful sunny holiday weekend Saturday. Grateful for what we have here in Fairbanks, if I recall correctly, Joy had a restaurant, was a chef from San Francisco, and always wears the Thai outfits too so beautifully.

Best Thai Food must try, extremly flavorful with fast and friendly service. Joy is fantastic location is easy to access and you cam always call your orders in ahead of time and they will be hot and ready to go when you get there. You must try the Thai-tea it is fantastic. This is located right next to the farmers market on college rd.

2596 College Road, Fairbanks, AK 99708 The food was good, split the Thai fried chicken on Saturdays and the Orange Southern Thai Style Curry with my brother. The curry was spicy, hot and fresh, and the crispy chicken has a sort of dried onion and sticky rice side. A perk of lunching at The Bangkok on Saturdays and Wednesday is special, not crowded parking next to the Tanana Valley Farmers Market. However, it turns out just eating here was the Saturday experience I wanted, sort of crowd-adjacent rather than in the thick of the townsfolk. I could still hear the band next door, the weather was fantastic with a hot sun and nice breeze, and the one-way traffic flow made leaving the parking area a lot less frustrating than the hubbub of the Market.

I had the best experience at Bangkok Thai! Joy was a complete Joy. She took great care in cooking my vegetarian pad Thai and it had the richest flavor I have ever tasted. The tofu was perfect! I also had the green tea drink that was the exact amount of sweet! Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Food was good, now hit or miss. Was a regular—owner got progressively ruder and ruder to me. Didn’t tip one time she was especially rude. She told me I was poor. Let’s be honest though, tipping for picking up food is ridiculous. No longer go there at all.

The lady at the hut was extremely rude and short with me. She was agitated with everything I asked for. I accidentally asked for Papaya salad even though they only serve it on Saturdays and she snapped at me and said: you can’t read the menu, only Saturdays. This was my first time ordering here and I will not be coming back due to the rude service, it recked my whole experience.

We recently moved from Thailand to Fairbanks and this is the most authentic Thai food we have found. Truly delicious, makes us feel at home!

The first time I got food here was very delicious

I have been there for a couple of times when I was in Fairbanks. The food was on top of the chain especially Phad Thai Lorbster and Chicken cashew nuts. Joy ,the owner is very sweet and very kind . She gave us Thai tea for free. The restaurant small but spotless. For sure we will be back to the restaurant again.

Twice I’ve ordered medium spicy and there hasn’t been any seasoning added at all. I don’t know if they’re just really forgetful or it’s just really bland, but without any heat it was like eating greased up cardboard. Blegh

I ordered shrimp pad Thai but got chicken pad Thai. I asked for medium heat but there was no heat to the spice at all. I only had to drive about 2 minutes to start eating it and the noodles were very sticky. The portion was generous.

Excellent Thai food. Eat outside on a beautiful day with a view of the mountains or get takeout. Green curry, garlic chicken, pad see ew, banana sticky rice for dessert - all delicious.

This was my first time trying to order food here. The lady who was taking orders was visibly agitated and sharp when I asked for a moment to look through the menu. She gave me less than a minute to look through the menu before asking me what I wanted to order again. I asked a follow up question about something on the menu that I was interested in trying. She responded rudely with an impatient and apathetic attitude. I ended up ordering and paying for something else entirely. However, I chose not to eat the food after this experience. So I can not say whether or not it was good. I understand everyone has bad days, but this treatment was unwarranted.

Fairbanks has the best Thai food you’ll find anywhere! And the Bangkok is the best in Fairbanks! I’ve tried it all, and this is by far my family’s favorite! And the owner is a woot, trust me you won’t be disappointed!

Well it's moderately expensive and the portion sizes don't necessarily reflect the cost IMO, but it was without a doubt the best pad cashew I've had in Fairbanks (or anywhere for that matter). Really tasty food and fast and friendly service. I'd happily try many other things on their menu.

We have a lot of Thai food to choose from in this town, and there's some good ones, but this is definitely my new favorite! Food is fresh, consistent, and flavorful. The fried egg on the gaprao is the best fried egg I've ever had. Pad thai has big crispy tofu chunks and fresh bean sprouts. A must try!

Despite what google says, they are open! They took a quick vacation to Thailand and are back! Best food and best service in town! Get itttttt!

Great Thai restaurant!

Top notch Thai take out. I asked the man working for a recommendation, and he was very helpful and offered up thoughtful suggestions. I went with pumpkin(winter squash) and pork in red curry, and it was out of this world. Very generous portion size, reasonably priced, nuanced flavors, silky texture, and made in less than 10 minutes.
This place is the best Thai I've had in quite awhile in Fairbanks. I would recommend, and will be back!

Amazing drive thru service. Great selection of popular Thai foods. Owner is down to earth, so kind and makes to your perfection and taste. I recommend the foods and service is awesome!!

Went to the farmers market and this was the best find of all!
Phenomenal Thai food - we got the Klua Kling, Panang, Green curry, cashew chicken and cannot decide which I like most. On top of it the owner Joy was a delight! Must try!

I got the kaeng sapparot (red curry with pineapple), perfect level of spice to clear my sinuses, and huge portions!
