This is the 2nd time that I tried Thai food at Charm Thai. The restaurant is very beautiful and clean. Food is good. You will get the feeling that you are eating in 🇹🇭 Thailand. The server is very nice. He is so friendly and has a service mind.
I can see that the owner put a lot of effort into this restaurant. It is a family business. Parents cook and a son is a helper in the kitchen. They make everything to satisfy customers.

We have eaten here before and it was amazing. However this past Saturday we arrived at 11:15 and no one was there. We waited until 11:25 and no one showed up. Saturday was not a holiday, there was no note on the door and we were within the posted hours. It was incredibly odd and frustrating.

Tofu was cooked crispy which is always needed. Sake bomb comes with a full container of sake which was fabulous. And the portion of sides was nice. Very much recommend this restaurant!

The place is very clean but I waited almost fifteen minutes for boba and it was full of ice and the boba itself was like hard crunchy rocks ! Won’t be back ! Maybe the food is better might have to try it

Tried this restaurant for the first time today and I'm impressed. The veggies in my Drunken Noodle dish was cooked to perfection, they still had the crisp so you know they were fresh. You get your choice of protein and spice level. The server was beyond courteous, I felt valued as a customer. I will be back to dine in.

We love Thai food but haven't gotten around to trying Charm Thai until now. They seemed to be a little short-handed, but it didn't detract from the experience. My husband got his favorite(drunken noodles), and I got had the green curry. We both enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back. Highly recommend!

My wife and I loved our dinner here. She had the Mussumun curry and I had the Pad Thai. Flavors were wonderful and the portions were generous. Would recommend to anyone who wants good Thai food.

Overall, this place was nothing special. It just wasn't that great. The atmosphere is okay. A few tables and chairs with no music and a youtube video playing on the TV. The menu has a lot of sushi items in it. The waitress didn't really know how to answer our questions about the menu. We had to ask for more silverware because she didn't bring enough for our group (only 3 people). As for the food, we've had much better. The little ginger salad before the meal was a nice touch but there was just a gob of dressing on top, not mixed or creamy. I ordered medium green curry chicken and it had no spice and was not warm. It was pretty bland and the vegetables were very mushy like they had been overcooked. There wasn't much rice with the dish. We also got the masaman curry which was ordered hot and wasn't spicy or very warm. The big chunks of vegetables weren't appealing either. We also got the drunken noodles. They were just okay. They had a little spice but still weren't hot level. Food was brought out one plate at a time which left us waiting to get our food. There are much better places in the area and this place has room for improvement.

I liked this place. They're new and just hitting their stride, so there were some hiccups with my food, but they made it right. Portion sizes are HUGE and the price is nice. I love the decorations.

My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the service, and the atmosphere. She had massaman chicken and I had Kra Pow with chicken. We have eaten at 5 or so other Thai places in Birmingham and this is our favorite.

After living in Thailand for 2 Years I’m always on the hunt for good Thai food, And this place is IT! The friendly and comfortable environment brings me right back to Thailand. Delicious food and the owners treat you like family ! I love Thai Tea highly recommend!

All of the food was great, with the exception of the Spring Rolls. They were mushy inside. The wrapper was crunchy, but the filling was mush. The Pad Thai was delicious, as was the Thom Kha. The creaminess of the soup....mawaaa, delicious 😘

I'd been wanting to go here for months now and finally took the time and went to pick up some lunch to go. The location was highly rated for the longest time and I figured any kinks would've been worked out by now.

They're located off Lorna Rd in a well-traveled area with plenty of amenities so it's convenient if you have other shopping you need to do intermittently. Parking there can be a bit crazy depending upon the day of the week and time you arrive.

The young man who greeted me was friendly and helpful despite our language barrier. I ordered the Phad Kra Pow with chicken (Thai heat spiciness) and a boba Thai tea. I asked if they could do soju bottles to go (save me a trip to a specialty liquor store), but apparently they still haven't had their liquor license approved after a year or more so not sure why they advertise liquor on their menus.

Altogether, my total was about $23 or so before tip which was steep for lunch. Apparently, they don't allow lunch menu prices for take out so you have to pay for full priced entrees. That seems counterproductive since I'm not taking up space for one person at a 4-person booth, but okay.

I got home and there weren't any utensils packed in, so thankfully I was there at home with my own. The Thai tea was the highlight since the boba were fresh and made in-house, not like those sacrony sweet, perfectly spherical ones you get at those ridiculous "nutrition" drink places. For those on the reviews saying the boba tea was bad, they're the problem for thinking authentic boba tea is that nutritional juice place junk. Theirs was actually fairly well-made.

Although I'd asked for Thai heat and the guy questioned me if I was sure I could handle it (to which I replied that I could, because living in East Asia for a half decade and all), it was evident they gave me the watered-down, Americanized version of "Thai heat."

The broccoli wasn't cooked thoroughly and was rubbery. Aside from the bit of heat they did give me, there were no other major discernible flavor profiles in my meal.

The sticky rice was well executed, so I guess that's a win. Once again, to those in the reviews saying the rice was "overcooked" or "mushy," don't believe them. They clearly have never heard of sticky rice or understand that's the common way to prepare it in East Asian countries.

All in all, I'm glad I went just to say I finally can cross it off my list, but after having ample Thai food prepared by other Thai nationals in S. Korea, I was just thoroughly underwhelmed.

I do not eat Thai often, I stopped in on a whim and am so glad I did! The server was very nice and recommended the Phad Kra Pow because I had no idea what to order. It was absolutely delicious, I ordered it medium level spicy which was a little hot so next time I know to get it mild. Also a great value lunch special, it was a lot of food and had leftovers!! I will definitely be back!

Food is authentic and fresh tasting. No sugary or processed tasting sauces, these sauces taste healthy and delicious. If I have any criticism it is that the spa music gets old.

We are very particular about our Pad Thai. They serve a chicken and shrimp dish. We ate lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our dish. I had medium heat and the wife mild. Whoooweee, it was hot! After talking to our very pleasant server, you can ask for separate DIY spicy seasoning. This Pad Thai is one of the best we've had. The flavor is succulent, and serving is generous. We will definitely return and try other dishes.

The owners are nice and very accommodating. The food is incredible. Try the spring rolls, coconut soup and pad Thai to start. As a vegan almost the entire menu can be made for us and the owners will make it happen. Highly recommend for vegans and non vegans as they have plenty of meat dishes.

Doesn’t look like an authentic Thai place, it’s more westernized. But it’s a good option if you want to eat something with rice. Serving size is alright, food tastes alright, boba is nothing special. Nice ambiance inside though.

First time here. Did a take-out lunch, Phad Thai with shrimp and chicken. Clean place with cute decor. Food was prepared nicely. Could have been a little more spicy, but I will ask for that next time. I will be going back.

My husband and I went here for lunch today with our 19 month old daughter. We were greeted promptly, and service was friendly and fast. I would say above and beyond. We were especially appreciative that our daughter’s chicken tenders were sliced into finger food size bites, so we didn’t have to spend part of our mealtime tearing off pieces for her. Very considerate, food was delicious too. Would definitely go again.

Surin WHO? This Thai place is AMAZING! This was my first time here and I am flabbergasted at how great the food is, how nice the owner is, and how fast the service is. I highly recommend this restaurant- especially if you are a food connoisseur. We ordered the fresh rolls, chicken satay, chicken pad thai, and I got a taro tea without the boba.

I went for lunch at around 1:30 PM on a Saturday. The place was not busy at the time. In spite of that, it took about 45 minutes to get my order. The pad thai was average. I thought it lacked flavor. It might have been a little more enjoyable if the wait wasn't so long. I don't know if this is typical for this place, but you should probably not visit if you're in a hurry.

I’m changing my previous review and increasing my rating. I gave feedback here before that I liked the food but every time I ordered a mild curry, it was still spicy. I gave it another try and I was pleased to find out that they resolved this issue.

First time visiting and I was certainly impressed with the food. The flavors of the coconut soup and chicken massumun were amazing! Worthy of another visit for sure.

Well we did take out which has risks. The guy tried to shop me out without the drinks I ordered. I insisted and so he admitted to not having that flavor of boba. But I had already paid online. He eventually offered other flavors but not a refund. When we got home also found they had left out the sticky rice from one of the desserts. I also ordered every dish with the lowest available spice level and it is the first time I have ever had significantly spicy Pad Thai. Too spicy for several in my group to eat. All the dishes were basically just meh. Wanted to like it but couldn’t. Not going back

Food is ok. Nowhere near as good as Blue Pacific. Also I ordered two of our dishes mild (for our kids) and they were so spicy they couldn’t eat it (it was too spicy for me too!). Also they’re pretty expensive.

Such a cute place! Perfect for a casual date night. And they have delicious food and great portion sizes. By far the best Tom Kha in Birmingham! When you go, keep in mind that this place is new and it's a small operation. I've seen the same hard working server there every time I go. He's so sweet and kind even while he's rushing around waiting on the whole dining room by himself. Sometimes service is slow, but be patient because the food is worth it!

I stopped in just to get a Thai tea; the guy at the register said they were out of tea but offered a Thai iced coffee instead, saying "it tastes better!" It wasn't what I came in for, but it might be a new favorite! Super fast, sweet service, reasonably priced (about $5 for a drink but they gave me a biiig cup), and delicious!

If you like Thai food, this place is a must try. I went there for dinner and ordered chicken pad thai, charmthai catfish, kid chicken fried rice and tuna roll. Every dishes are huge and taste good. I love every dishes I ordered, especially, Pad thai. It's not sweet or oily. It's just right. Also, the owners and server are friendly and attentively. The restaurant is clean and quiet as well.

I am going to just declare that this is probably the best Thai place in Hoover. They have the same owners as a popular spot I don't frequent as much due to distance. I am very picky about my Thai food and will not even try places that are rated below a certain point. The food was fresh and tasty. The portion size was great. The host was very pleasant and took pride in their restaurant. The ambience in the restaurant and even where it is located is perfect. It is like a semi-hidden gem. If you love Thai, check them out. You won't be disappointed. I look forward to dining in instead of takeout next time to just enjoy the atmosphere.

We were excited to try this. We went on a Friday night around 6 or so. The server told us to seat ourselves and after getting our drink orders and coming to take our food order, he informed us they didn’t have any sushi. So scrambling to choose something else, we were disappointed but hopeful. My orange chicken had zero flavor. The rice was mushy like it had been overcooked and sitting in the dish a while. There seemed to be only the one server and no manager. Did not live up to the hype.

Some of the best Thai we have had in the states and we have traveled all over. Large portions too, we were stuffed. Definitely will be back next time we are in town to try some more dishes.

Came in for lunch at 12. No one inside and no employees. After about 5 minutes a young man came out and gave me a menu. Water tastes like it came out of water hose, would not recommend water. I did not see Red Curry on lunch special so ordered the dinner. Good portion and flavor. Rice a little over cooked but that happens. Service is slow, I would not recommend if you need a quick lunch. Compared to local competition, pricing is also a bit high.

Affordable lunch menu ranging from 11 -15 dollars. All dishes are cooked to order. Ordering in advance through Beyond Menu is recommended. We ordered Pad Thai and Catfish. The food is filled with authentic thai flavor. The portions are large and the only thing I would add as a personal preference is a squirt of lime in the Pad Thai. Friendly service.
