So, I ordered the Penang Curry. I asked for fried rice. Didn’t get friend rice. The plastic container wasn’t even full. Asked for mild spice and it’s barely edible. The order total said 17.17 but then they charged me 15.70 in taxes and fees! I had no clue. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The service was good and the dishes came out quickly so the wait was not too long. For appetizers we ordered the Issan Sausage and Crispy Squid, which were both excellent. The sausage has a sweet and sour taste and the squid was nice and crispy, not soggy at all. We also ordered Tum Soua Noodles that were delicious. The other dishes included Beef Noodle Soup and Tom Sad, which were also delicious and flavorful.

I ordered pad krapow, but what I received was not even close to the dish. For a Thai restaurant, if you cannot make pad krapow correctly, then I am concerned about the quality of your other dishes. The pad see ew was overpowered by soy and oyster sauce, lacking the authentic flavors of the dish. It is disappointing that I have yet to find a good Thai restaurant in the Milwaukee area.

Last but not least, please ensure to cut your vegetables before serving them to customers. Someone could choke on your Pad Krapow dish.

The food was okay. Pineapple Curry Fried Rice is my go to. The fungus dish was way too salty I couldn't finish it. Pho is good. It has most of the stuff already in it so that could be good if you don't know what to add in. Bad if you like your broth a certain way.

The place is smaller than it used to since they set up barriers from Covid. Still cozy and nice though. Worth a try if you're in the area and want some Thai food. Service was great.

I saw the flyers for Phobruary and decided to give this place a try. The food was delicious and super affordable! We ordered the beef steak pho, pork eggrolls, and beef skewers. Thai iced to was sweet and yummy too ☺️

The vibes were very comfortable and overall felt like a very authentic Asian restaurant. I would definitely recommend and come here again! 😆

My lady hasn't stopped talking about how awesome this place is. She goes here to eat with her dad every so often. We get the iced coffee from here and it's awesome. Strong and sweet, but not too sweet.

Our server was very nice at first however we ordered a thai tea and beef larb. The thai tea had a very odd smell to it but nothing too off putting so I was already skeptical. But when the beef larb came out we instantly got a very rancid smell that was synonymous to human feces. Im not even exaggerating, ive had this dish over 30+ times in my life and NEVER had I experienced this smell from that in my life. The waiter then seen our reaction and asked if we wanted rice, like that is supposed to dilute the aroma or something. Im very positive they served us rancid decaying food thinking we wouldn’t know the difference. The grocery store on the corner is also notorious for selling expired food and im pretty sure thats who supplies alot of the stock here. But after receiving the dish that we refused to eat, I asked the waiter if it was okay to just pay for the thai tea and the fresh rolls we ate prior to this with no problems but then she pointed to a sign on a piece of paper by the register that was about 1x2 inches big saying “all orders are final” Mind you this sign is only by the the register so you only can see it after you eat when its time to pay. So we basically got stuck paying for a dish we never ate that was served to us rancid/expired. Mind you we had a few orders of the fresh rolls prior with no flies around for a good 10-15 mins then when the rancid beef larb came out instantly flies started when swarming that dish only.. and flies or very attracted to decaying matter……

I enjoyed Thai bbq mainly for their curries- specifically the Panang and Ginger Garlic- but they have HUGE consistency issues. I will order something and then get a completely different dish, which is very frustrating and happens way to often. Also, the spice level is inconsistent as well. It doesn't matter what spice level you choose, it will still be very spicy-which defeats the whole purpose of even offering that option to customers. The cooks do not pay attention to modifications either (ex: no green beans in curry, it'll still have it AND make up the bulk of the dish). I just don't understand how you can make a completely different dish than what was paid for and not honor slight modifications (omiting a certain filler vegetable, or no spice level). It seems the only thing they are consistent at is being inconsistent. I won't patronize anymore.

I placed a order online i live 20mins away. I ordered pineapple fried rice. Asked for no spice. I get home the rice is so spicy I cannot eat it and has no baby corns in it like it's supposed to. I call the lady says let me speak to the cook, claims put no spice in it. Then states can bring the food back for a refund! So you want to drive 20 mins back there to fix your mistake! Never coming back here again !! So unprofessional and FYI I never to reviewd like this but I had to since the lady who answered the phone stating she didn't know what to do here and the manager/owner was not in.

Family owned and operated. Food is prepared from the heart. Authentic lao and Thai food.

Prices are going up too much. Example being curry going up another $4/$5 increase. Don't see the reason why as the ingredients in it aren't that expensive. You can get curry cheaper at other places that still have good flavors. Food is good but not always consistent in the way it is cooked.

I ordered pad krapow, but what I received was not even close to the dish. For a Thai restaurant, if you cannot make pad krapow correctly, then I am concerned about the quality of your other dishes. The pad see ew was overpowered by soy and oyster sauce, lacking the authentic flavors of the dish. It is disappointing that I have yet to find a good Thai restaurant in the Milwaukee area.

My wife and I order from this place a lot, but we've had many mistakes with our orders and then have to drive all the way over there from south Milwaukee, which is a bummer. Ordered Togo from here because it was the most affordable food options on Uber Eats and boy am I happy we did! In this economy, Thaibbq is the most affordable take out option with an abundance of food! We got the fresh spring rolls, tofu pad Thai, crab wontons, and Pad Laos Pork Noodle. All very good besides I probably won’t get the fresh spring rolls again. They weren’t bad just not for me. Crab wontons were a pleasant surprise on how good they were and both our noodle dishes were 10/10. I joke as DanDans crab wontons are $16 and theirs aren’t even half as good as these. Will come in for dine in next time!

The Crab ragoons are the best I’ve ever had. I also had the beef pho, and coffee w/ milk drink which were both delicious.

Rewarding 5 Stars to the "Thai Bar-b-que" is not enough. Every dish shows attention to detail and, more important, displays culinary flair. The portions are more generous than Warren Buffet in a good mood could supply. Gigantic! The service is quick and gracious. This is my favourite Thai restaurant in Milwaukee. In fact, it is my favourite restaurant in Milwaukee County.

Awesome experience at Thai BBQ!!! The food was absolutely delicious! I ordered northern sausage, chicken satay, fresh roll, Thai papaya salad, pho noodles, sticky rice, and pad see ewe..... everything was seasoned well and bursting with flavor. To accompany the food I also ordered a jackfruit smoothie..... extremely tasty....the owner/chef made it a point to visit our table throughout our meal to ask how the food is.... super attentive waitress also stopping by our table frequently to refill water and make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meals..... I'll definitely be going back for more delicious food!!!!

The portions are extremely good for the prices and it was all so delicious!! I loved the pineapple rice the most. We went kind of late and ended up staying past closing hours (we're sorry) but they weren't mean about it at all! Everyone we talked to was super sweet and they even gave us a thai tea for all of us to try and it was delicious.

We waited over an hour for our order to prepare and it didn't seem to get to us anytime soon. Finally we inquired why our order was so late and they asked 'what order?'. They somehow missed our order and didn't even start to prepare it. After checking their computer they said 'oops' and told us she'll start working on our order but it would take a lot more time because rice has to be cooked. So we cancelled the order and asked the waitress about this, she said it's not her fault, the person who took our order had gone home after her shift ended. We never even got an apology for wasting our time like this. The kicker is that we still had to pay for the juice we ordered to have after the lunch. Just avoid this place at all cost. If you had the misfortune of ordering someting here, at least follow up every 10 mins just to make sure your order is still being prepared.

The duck noodle soup was pretty bad. Extremely salty broth. Duck is shredded into tiny bits and had no flavor at all. The bean sprouts on the side were wilted. Had the larb a while back and it had a lot of charred bits in it. Not trying this place again.

This is by far the best and most diverse Thai menu in the city. They also are scratch recipes which are obvious in aroma and flavor.

Had high hopes. Calamari way over-breaded and overcooked. So rubbery and so much breading it was basically a rubber band donut. The squid was already dead - no reason to kill it twice. Times are tough but the size of the jumbo shrimp in the website soup pics are nothing like the old little dried up carcasses that actually came in the soup. And the mussels in the soup were even worse. Possibly fermented? The taste reminded me of what goldfish food smells like but worse. Bangkok noodle dish was the least of my worries but so overcooked. The once green now brown vegetables showed no signs of ever having life.

And this should be irrelevant but the food was ordered early in the night, not at the end of the night. But this food wasn't just old for the day this food was old for the week. I'm literally throwing $30 worth of food into the trash. I've never had to do that before.

But the online pics look good. Or was good. Sounds like it was much better food in the distant past. Definitely getting a sense that it was a once loved restaurant and now just coasting until it's no longer profitable. Sorry to the owners or employees that might actually read this but it was horrible. There's no possible way that anyone's proud of what came out of that kitchen today. I don't usually write harsh reviews, I'm writing this so others don't have to throw away their own money.

Don't order it spicy if you can't stand the heat! Very good food. I ordered medium spicy and it was gooooood. (I wish I ordered mild spicy though) Very tasty. Stop in and try it. I had chicken pad Thai. Very happy with my order.

Really more of a Laotian place. Ordered crispy tofu, rangoon, pineapple fried rice and pad thai. Tofu and rangoon were great. Rice was meant to come with chicken and shrimp on the menu and we were upcharged $6 for vieny shrimp, bad show. Didn't get pad thai, got pad see ew, very Laotian, but not at all pad thai. Pretty tasty still. Probably wouldn't go again.

Im February 22, 2023, I put a order in for pickup in a winter storm day . I when and got my food got home and the food was very spicy that i couldn’t eat it, so I decided to go back drive in the storm and tell them please can you remake it w no spice so they did but it was that same level of spice . Very upset this was my third time they do wrong on my order. 2 weeks ago I order food and it took them 2 hours for only spring roll. The other one was I dining in and decided to order a soup and at my first taste was disappointment it had a rotten smell like it went bad . I told the guy there and he didn’t even want to refund or change it for something else then he comes with a container so I can take it home hell no I would not take that spoiled food home!! Very upsetting!!! I will give them a one star ⭐️ this is going to be my last time I’ll be going to this restaurant 😡😡😡😡

Good pho . Good food ! I just wished they remolded it needs it badly ! And don’t like foam cups or soda cans o wished the upgraded to a fountain beverage There food is so good but they need a serious make over . Absolutely amazing. This was the first time I was ever here. My son recommended it. I came with him my daughter and my sister. The food was unbelievably amazing our waitress was wonderful. One of the workers came out and talked to us and he was very friendly. The atmosphere was very nice beautiful decorations. I highly recommended and I definitely am going back very soon. Their peanut sauce is to die for.

The Potstickers were great!
The #44 original Pho was good, except the cartilage that I got was not appealing. Overall, the broth, meatballs, and thin slices of beef were good. The young lady serving was doing a great job as she was the only server with a packed house.

I am extremely disappointed with service and food. Not worth the money or the time. Poor quality food and management is extremely rude. I recommend going to another restaurant.

Sadly service was minimal. Even on a weekend, only 1 server in the whole place. Long waiting time to order. The food was sub par. A Thai dish that is usually a bit sweet was rather smoky instead. Lots and lots of black pepper. Meat was a bit tough and required some flossing afterwards. The atmosphere is cute and authentic but a bit cluttered (part of the authenticity?). I would use the phrase "hole in the wall" to describe it in the kindest possible way. Menu was surprisingly expensive.

Fast service and large portions

Good seasoning and flavor. Texture of the noodles is a too slimy and the chicken was a touch over cooked but otherwise great food and will go back.

Interesting place, it's really pretty inside. My teen loved the Thai hot chocolate. My husband really liked the house wonton soup. Kind of an adventure eating here, as a vegetarian I wish they had vegetarian selections but we had fun checking it out here.

Upon arrival, I learned of some difficulty finding the order, and I had shared screenshots of both the email order confirmation along with banking information stating it was paid in full. For my wait I was offered a Corona beer.

The order I was told was completed, 11 items, and I departed from the restaurant.

I had returned later driving back from my residence at 1216 N. 43rd St., and inquired about the missing soups a value of $36.98 unpacking my order and using my printed email, rebuild it in front of them showing that there was nine items. The two soups were provided, and there was not an offer to refire any of the food which is now an hour cold. There was never an offer to returned what I expect, good service providing a tip for $12.21 for pick-up food TWICE. They are courteous about their mistake only to ensure that I take my cold food with me.

We are still missing a rice entrée that should have accompanied the MUSSAMUN Curry. I am not driving back there for a third time.

WARNING ⚠️: Anyone who chooses to get takeout from this location PLEASE unpack their food in front of the staff and ensure order accuracy even though the point-of-sale software they are using provides a item list and count all there.

Food was amazing, came I. For dinner date. We had 3 appetizers, the spring rolls, fresh rolls and quail. We ordered and split the chef special and everything was so delicious.

Had eaten here in the past and found it exceptional. Not any more. If I could give it zero stars i would. My friend and I received 2 different menus and had to look at both to see all selections. First thing we notice was the high prices. A lot of money for lunch entrees. Pricing was confusing. Food was a sad looking dish, but, the flavor was okay. I had added shrimp and the tails had not been removed and had to pick up messy shrimp to pull off tail. With most of the dining room partitioned off the place looked a little seedy. I did not use any of the sauces on the table as the bottle caps were crusty and the condiments looked very old. A selection of pepper sauces put on the table by the waiter were okay. I had noticed in the past how busy lunch was so arrived at 11:30 to beat the rush. It never happened. BTW. The place is called Thai Barbq and I saw no barbecue items on the menu. Was ther supposed to be a third menu?

Used to love this place but the food just isn't the same anymore. Thai beef jerky was super disappointing, it was just random small and SUPER thin cuts of beef that could bearly feed one person... when asking why the price of curry was so expensive now, waiter just answered "yeah expensive".... like dude 😒, I can see that I just want to know why the price has basically double. Over all not even worth eating there anymore.

Ordered spring rolls, crab Rangoon, and drunken noodle dish. The spring rolls w/ sauce were good, the crab Rangoon was okay, but the drunken noodle was so bad. It tastes like the cook accidentally dumped too much pepper in it and sent it out regardless. Almost inedible with no flavor other than pepper.

I am extremely unhappy with our food. We got our food to go and when we opened it, it was very unappealing. Our shrimp cakes were burned, and didn't get the whole serving, Bangkok noodles were overdone and look very unappetizing. I will never go back. Yuck!

They use to have the best Pad Thai around town but after today’s order, I am very disappointed. Looks like they changed the recipe, I will not be ordering from there anymore. The Pad Thai is plain and unappealing looks like it was dyed with diluted red food coloring. The Tofu wasn’t even fried like it used too, just soft tofu. Very disappointed, was really looking forward to eat it too until I opened it…..

I ordered the beef noodle (well done beef pho), thai iced tea and fried chicken. You can't ever go wrong with pho. It, as well as the thai iced tea, tasted amazing. The only thing I did not like was the fried chicken. I was disappointed that it wasnt well seasoned at all. Very bland. Other than that the food was good and I'd definitely will return again.

Lots of menu options. Decent price and good food

Idk how the food tastes. I ordered online for pickup off their website. It was a bit combersome because you had to wade thru a list of over 100 items with no pictures. Took a long time to find what I wanted. I got there waited in line. They never received the order. Super disappointed. The place looks a little run down. But the space had a warm charm that was inviting. I should give it another try someday and will review again.

The Tom kha was different looking then any I’ve had at many other restaurants still pretty good flavor…

Food was good. Waiter was attentive. But table #1 across from us was playing something on their phone through most of our meal. It was very annoying. We will not be back.

We come here about every month. Great food! Today I had the Hot Pot Soup and Thai BBQ Chicken (on a stick). Both very good! It can be busy at times for the staff but it’s for a reason! The food is awesome!

I ordered Pad See Eew with soft tofu and low spice level-there was absolutely no sauce-just oil, a lot of black char and a lot of black pepper, no taste. I was wondering if they dropped it on the floor with as much black stuff there was on it-the eggs were unrecognizable as eggs.
I also ordered the fresh rolls-which came with a very grainy peanut sauce and very sweet- I tried adding that to the noodle dish, but the black bits of char and oil soaked noodles were too much. I dumped my whole lunch. The rolls were also not fresh, tough and full of lettuce and not fresh noodles.
I would give this no stars but that is not an option.

This is their thai fried rice. Basically so soggy you can call it congee (rice porridge). Order this 12/29/2021. This was a pick up. $10.99 for this garbage.

Don’t know what is going on at this restaurant but the food is not the same. My first order was wrong, then they were nice enough to offer to give the right order the next day. Stayed several
Times I wanted spicy level 3 and I got some super soft rice with no spice to it and some back
Pepper sprinkled on top of it: if the chef is new and struggling to get the foods right, they are going to end up losing customers. I have two starts cos the guy I picked up food from was very nice

I’m sorry, but what is this? Ordered the chicken pad Thai… got some radioactive noodles with random pieces of tofu in the bottom 👍🏼

We had the Pad Lo with beef with spice level zero heat and spice level 3 heat. We also dad it with tofu with spice level zero. All three were very good. Sometimes the tofu is steamed and sometimes pan seared depending on who is cooking. You can probably specify which you prefer.

I ordered food and apprecntly they don’t know how to read name and gave my dasher the wrong order. I called the store And they confirmed they have my order at the restaurant. I asked what i will do with the food i got and asked for my food to be delivered. The owner does not even care. He says to throw out the food and told me they will not delivered my order as I already got a different food. Worst customer service

They got the order wrong. Had ordered Bangkok noodles with tofu. They added the tofu and chicken too. This is the first and last time ordered food from Thai Bar-B-Que Restaurant.

I ordered online at this place and went for a pick-up 30 mins later, I was told the food would take another 25 mins to be ready. I asked him to cancel the order and issue me a refund, this guy told me he's not going to accept the order and amount won't be charged.
Guess what, after I left the amount was charged for no food or services offered. Be careful while ordering online at this place and also looking at the wait time this place is mismanaged with lot a of delays. It was my first and last time here!

Me personally the panang curry was delicious especially paired with The Thai Ice Tea. Unfortunately for the rest of my party they got a wrong dish and one that never even came out. Overall for the food is delicious.

The service is just flat out bad. I believe the server misunderstood our orders and must've miscommunicated to the cooks. Also the wait time was just bad for anything ordered from food to drinks took over 30mins which I think its due to only one server on the floor.

Just order for to go and eat at home and your experience will already be 10x better than dinning in.

This is literally the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. It’s bland, dry, my rice isn’t cooked fully, and they got our order wrong. The food is not good. Plain and simple. I never leave reviews, and this was bad enough that I’m leaving this. Terrible cuisine. I know that the owners or kitchen manager will read this, and so I say; you badly need to work on your food quality or you will not have a sustainable business with competition like EE Sane or Bangkok house. You need to set a new standard of food quality, because this is terrible. I’m sorry, truly, I don’t mean to leave such a harsh review, but this is abhorrent at best.

Ordered takeout through EatStreet. Took nearly an hour to have my order ready. Ordered Panang Curry and specified "mild", in the instructions. It's so spicy I can't even eat it. Not going to drive back there. No option via EatStreet to complain. I won't be back.

Been a customer for years. On this occasion, the food was just "ok". The quality service was extremely disappointing and lacking. No attention, lack of focus. Only thing the server was quick about was to bring me the bill!! 😔

We use to eat here regularly. We went today and it was awful. Out of many items and when they brought the food it tasted terrible. Not sure if new ownership. Service was bad and this place is off our list of places to eat. I wouldn’t recommend it anymore.

This use to be one of my most favorite Thai restaurants in the city HOWEVER. It’s evident that they are experiencing some sort of issue with customer service.

I ordered on Grubhub and my meal took two hours to arrive because they poorly coordinated the preparation.

The server is nice, he’s understanding and helpful but the food was horrible. They gave us a rotten Chinese broccoli. It’s smells so bad even the server smells it he wanna throw up.

This restaurant used to be really good with food and service. Unfortunately their service has gotten worse each time I went there. Today however broke the camels back. We sat there for 30 minutes with no service. The guy waiter ask us if we wanted anything to drink we said water, never brought it to us. Waited 30 mins and still nobody to take our order and no drinks. We ended up walking out.
This will be the last time I’ll ever eat there. Too bad Vientiane Noodles across the stress was not doing dine ins. Vientiane Noodles has better tasting food.

Food is always good here. But waited 15 minutes before they take our order. Waited 1 hour to get our food only 2 dishes pho and a pad thai. Me and my husband didn't get our food together he finish before my came out. No utensils were given to us we had to keep asking over and over. Need to upgrade the place super dirty. Would never dine in again but definitely do take out.

Food was bad and service was worse, ordered fish cakes, they were burnt and dry. Got my food and my drink and never saw the waitress again. Young girl that looked like she didnt want to be there. Had to go get condiments, the bill and a to go box. When she flipped the bill for me to add a tip i said NO TIP. She literally did nothing but bring your initial food.

Nice private seating that is carefully kept to 20 customer limit. The sauce for the fresh spring rolls was heavy on housing and the pho broth a little light on typical seasoning, but a good and hearty meal with friendly, safe conditions.

Bad customer service!!!! Not friendly at all!!! Ordered over the phone for pickup!!!! First time coming here and was not impressed!!!! No good hospitality at all and food was not so good either!!! Will not be coming here no more!!!

OMG! This place is sooo good. My favorite is the Panang Curry, very flavorful & plenty of chicken in it, compared to other places I have tried. I get this at least once a week for lunch.

Only thing I did not like was the canned mushrooms and cabbage in the Tom Kha soup, non traditional for me.

Good food the service is good, they forgot my volcano sauce twice ... which sucks because you can’t eat volcano chicken with out the sauce it’ll be super dry.

I like the food here. I believe this is a small family ran place. Lots of selection and they have a picture menu so it's not too difficult to figure out what looks good. My experience is usually positive with small exceptions here and there. The restaurant is small but the menu is large. Minus one star for the location and outdated bathrooms and lack of parking spaces.

1/2/2021: I returned here tonight and as usual the food was good but I learned that there is a service charge if there is 4 or more people. I am completely supportive of this, especially during these tough covid times for restaurants...with that said, the service tonight was not as great and two dishes arrived incorrectly to our table and one dish was lost for a while (maybe it took a while?). 3 of the 4 guest was done eating before the final dish arrived, which was an appetizer. This does make you remember the service charge on the way home so I’m hoping this was just an off night. Still keeping this place 4 out of 5 as before. Hoping for a better experience next visit.

Omg the food here is amazing 🤩... we wanted to try everything. The Thai iced coffee is legit the best thing in this world 🌎... I always get the Larb it’s my favorite 😍 usually with a spice level three but here that is supper hot 🥵...so watch out! I love Tom Kai soup and not many places make it to my liking but here it was soooo good 😌 You should definitely try the Volcano 🌋 chicken 🐔 !!! All the food looks great and they have an app you can just scan the table tree and the menu pops up on your phone to order... set up perfect for Covid... The decor is welcoming and fits the restaurant. I love ❤️ this place!

Ordered food online for delivery and it never came. Called them and they said they didn't see it and just closed. Probably worst service I've ever had, to write off a hundred dollar order like that due to their own error.

In my original review, I gave 5 stars because the food here is delicious. However the last few times I've eaten at this restaurant, I couldn't help but notice that I was given dirty cups to drink from. Asking for new cups was no use, as the new ones were dirty as well.

Roast pork and broccoli was really bad. Chewy, fatty and minimal pork. All broccoli stalks. Very unappetizing. Nothing like the picture. Very little portion for $14.99. Never again.

So bad, this place use to be good, 1 chicken wing, rest looks like Scraps!
