Tempt your taste buds with authentic Thai and Southeast Asian cuisine. Also serving sushi made with the freshest and best quality fish.
Friendly staff, reasonable wait time (often quick service anyway), and delicious food!! And they have VEGAN dishes!!! The pho tastes just like home (hands down, best in town!!), the sushi is amazing, and the laab is die for. The prices are a steal for what all you get. I can’t believe I don’t eat here every day.
I’ve had really good authentic Thai food, and this was not it. Pad Thai tasted like overly salty eggs. No flavor, no heat, just salt. Chicken didn’t look cooked enough, some pieces were kind of pink inside. Egg rolls were okay but the peanut sauce tasted like it came from a jar at the grocery store. Super disappointing.
We stopped here to try it out. This restaurant has been on our list to review. The spicy fried rice was very good and on point with the heat. The pho was alright nothing to highlight or talk about. The sticky rice was a cool purple color. My wife’s only complaint was the ratio of beef to vegetables on her plate more vegetables than protein. Short staff longer wait time but they did warn us right away. Definitely a place to try out and get your opinion on but more than likely will not be back.
Went to Muang Thai and ordered the Blazing Shrimp. They offer 5 levels of spice: Mild, medium, spicy, Thai spicy, and one spicier than that but I don’t remember what it was called because I wouldn’t dare consider it for myself 😂 I ordered mine at “spicy” level with a side of plain fried rice and I loved it!! You got quite a few (as seen in the photo, approximately 10-12) of good sized, properly cooked shrimp and some lightly sautéed, still crisp veggies, exactly how I like them. Not pictured was a side of rice which was very large. My daughter and I ended up sharing this meal because I ended up bringing home half- it was more than enough to feed us both.
I would say the spice level I chose was at the top of my tolerance level but no complaints as I hate when I order “spicy” food that is bland. Definitely not the case here. Next time I will likely order medium as after eating a few bites the heat just took over my mouth, but this did make me eat slower so maybe not a bad thing?
I also tried my husbands teriyaki chicken a which was also delicious. It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful and his portion was also large.
The value was great- we both ordered water to drink and with both our meals it was under $30. I gave 5 stars for the
In addition to awesome food, the service was great too. Prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was nothing fancy but it was clean. There is plenty of parking and it is wheelchair accessible.
Service always nice and food tasted delicious. I would recommend this restaurant.
So sad to learn they won't be doing sushi anymore. But the other menu selections are also extremely good!! Seasoning & flavors are hard to beat!
Was not thrilled with the food. Noodles where not cooked all the way, very little sauce and flavor was great.
We were just passing by and decided to make a stop for lunch. The food and price are OK. They were very friendly kind towards us. We had a presence conversation about their city and community.
Food was absolutely delicious.
Lovely food, good price, a little loud, but not their fault, had some energetic patrons! Our waitress was very sweet, can't wait to eat there again!
10/10! Every time we come here it’s amazing! Great prices! Egg rolls are out of this world! No matter what I get, Pho or Pad Thai, it’s always outstanding! We come often and love it every time.
Their boat noodles was really good. Kind staff and everything came out in a timely fashion.
My fiancé and I randomly came here a few months ago and we’ve been back at least biweekly. The food is always so good and it’s always my first pick of where to eat. We went over the weekend and I said, “I think this is my favorite restaurant in the area.” My fiancé then said, “I think this is my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to!” We’re gonna keep coming back for a longggggg time.
Unwelcoming looks with excellent service.
Need to change their oil.
Best Thai food & great price. The owner is wonderful, great to her customers & involved in the community
One of my two favorite Thai restaurants in Eau Claire. You can't go wrong with all of their stirfry options. Delicious and unique offerings are their Curry Pad Thai and Muang Thai Wings. The basil fried rice is also solid.
Great food and service.
Egg rolls and accompanying sauces are fantastic. Pad Thai and Pad See Ew were also just right. Was bummed they were out of chicken, but understand there could be supply issues. Nice family business with a pleasant and helpful staff. Will definitely return!
Ok, this place has what I consider the best pad Thai around the state. I travel for work and try all the pad Thai I can find. This one’s hands down is my favorite. I will be there Tuesday for another plate!
very good
Highly would not recommend! Would and will not return!! Extremely and utterly beyond disappointed in the food, in the service and the atmosphere. Not Authentic! Unwelcoming! (*we were never greeted and had to seat ourselves and every asian that came in after us was greeted, seated and served before I flagged someone down. Should of taken it as a red flag and walked out then!) Horrible service! And Unsanitary! They even left stickers on the veggies in my disgusting to begin with curry 🤢.
First time here... order for take out only but the food is on point and amazing.
Love the food here!
Drove 45min just to finally be able to eat here. Checked the Facebook page to make sure they were open. Got here at 6:30p and there was the sign on the door. Went inside and they said they were closing soon. Hours said until 9pm.
Was in town for grocery shopping so decided to try again. So incredibly happy we gave it another shot. The rolls were phenomenal. My husband had the pho. Will be going again when we're in town. Better than Akame in flavor and price when you do their Friday special!
Pad Thai, egg rolls and crab rangoons were great!! The potsticker dumplings were not very good in my opinion but everything else was.
Service staff were good, very friendly.... however, the food was mediocre at best. Our drinks for dine-in were served in plastic l, sealed to-go cups. We ordered Pad Thai and Pad See Ew... both were overcooked and lacking the exciting flavors of traditional Thai food. It wasn't horrible, but I will not be bragging to anyone about it, and I will not drive across town again to go here. It was a vutnif a disappointment... especially in a town that lacks ethnic diversity in their restaurant scene. TlMuang Thai seems to have missed an opportunity to be a unique and popular restaurant in Eau Claire.
The BEST crab rangoon EVER. (Took me a lot to post this comment bc I don't want them selling out now...)
Service was quick. Food was tasty
We've been out of town. Spending time where exciting food options abound. I'm picky, I care not about ambiance..if the Cusine is as it is,as fineas served here; I'd order from under a bridge. Moderately priced, generous portions and a comfortable atmosphere.
A real foodies destination.
This place is great, but way too expensive. I ordered 2 apps and an order of rice and it ran me $30. This is insane guys…
Definitely my go to spot for their pad thai!. One of the best in the city. Their pho is also a hit along with many other dishes. Atmosphere is great and service is definitely up to par. Want some quality asian food or delicious sushi? Muang Thai is the place to go.
Dinner review nov2023 = awesome wing appetizer, red curry and pad se ewe noodle were both awesome. Waitress was great.
Lunch review jun2023 = Good food. Long wait.
Xheng Special Pho....always a favorite. My go to item if craving soup! Also good...pad thai noodle with pork belly and tofu.
Ate the Red Curry with chicken and extra veggies. Level spicy. Was perfect! The spicy mixed with sweetness of the curry was so delicious. Definitely will be back.
The restaurant was closing early due to some circumstance, but Xai extended the invitation to us to dine in as we were from out of town. We had an amazing experience! Food and service were spectacular! Would definitely go back!
The food is amazing, and you have many options to pick from. It has the atmosphere of a small little cafe. Staff is very friendly, and you are actually waited on, not just go-to the counter and order your food. We've been there twice now, and plan to go more often when we are in the area.
Hubby and I stopped there and had the special pad kapow and raw beef laap. Both were delicious 😋! Best raw laap I've ever had!
Delicious food and really excellent service. I had a fantastic meal & am looking forward to coming back for more soon :)
If you’re looking for a place that cooks goat well - this is by far the best I’ve had!
I asked for spicy and hoo boy is it spicy. Need a few more stars to give
Walking into Muang Thai the first time I got cautiously excited. All the tell tale signs of an amazing Thai place
Went to Muang Thai and ordered the Blazing Shrimp. Tasty Thai food
This is my favorite place to get food, hands down. I can say with confidence that I will go here whenever in the area.
Excellent food . Great people 👏
I wish I can give this restaurant three stars but based on our experience, I can only give 2 stars.
We stopped by this restaurant for lunch after UW-Stout graduation. The foods and services aren’t as good as other restaurants we went to.
1. Customer service is OK. I would give it a C. More waitresses needed. One food we ordered wasn’t delivered, F for that.
2. The foods we received costed more than other bigger and tastier restaurants. The foods on the plates barely covered the bottom of the plates. More onions and peppers on the plates than meats.
3. Most of the dishes we ordered were nothing special.
4. Little children of the restaurant owner/workers ran to the kitchen back-and-forth, Unprofessional.
5. Lighting fixtures and the atmosphere needed improvement.
Excellent food
The food was really good. Good portions too.
Papaya was great 10/10!!!
**Food was good but has taken a turn for the worst. What makes it worst is the horrendous service. Sushi is still good though. Probably the worst service in Eau Claire. Unless it’s completely dead, don’t expect to be greeted/acknowledged or seated within the first 5-10 mins of entering the restaurant. Don’t expect to be waited on once seated and oh, did I mention, prepare for long wait times. I’ve been here multiple times and have seen many people walk out and missed or cancelled phone calls. I can’t imagine how much money they miss or let walk out everyday. Well I guess on a positive note, they’re service is consistently bad so one would know what to expect for their next visit.
Amazing sticky rice - heading back to try more
Food is fantastic. Love how spicy you can get the different dishes. Have tried something different almost every time we have been and have yet to be disappointed. My favorite Asian restaurant around so far.
This is probably the best restaurant in Eau Claire. I’d be willing to put it up against any others.
First time trying Pho and it was SO GOOD! I am a vegetarian and some places just use chicken or beef broth for their vegetarian dishes. Not the case here. The gal working told my husband it might take a little longer because they made a fresh batch of veggie broth ♥️ will be back for sure!
Food was phenomenal! Ingredients were fresh and the dishes tasted like they were made with love. I've tried multiple menu items at this place and they were all delicious and craveable~
Even had a dream about the food after the 1st time I went there.
This is what high quality tastes like.
Staff is always friendly and I find that I look forward to the days when I get to visit.
Wish they would expand their hours and move into a bigger location just so I could get my paws on more of that Pad Thai more often.
They are always busy because they make a good product so don't expect an in-and-out situation.
Worth the Wait
Worth the Money
Highly recommend
Authentic and unique. None like it in Eau Claire and never lets me down. They always use the freshest ingredients around for their dishes and you can taste the difference.
We stopped here to try it out. This restaurant has been on our list to review. The spicy fried rice was very good and on point with the heat. The pho was alright nothing to highlight or talk about. This place is no joke!! Some of the best, most authentic food I've had in a LONG TIME. 100% will be going back!
These is the worst Pho I had in my life. They didn't even try the broth was straight up water. Please do your self a favor and skip this place.
Absolutely the best lemongrass soup!!
Love this place! One of the very best Thai restaurants.
A beautiful restaurant with great service! The food is delicious! I always make a stop here to get my fix when I come to town or pass through. Definitely reccomend!
Best food in Eau Claire. Haters gonna hate. This place got good food.
As far as Asian cuisine in the Midwest goes. Muang Thai has set a bar for affordable and quality Korean/Thai cuisine. A hundred percent recommend the baked mussels.
The Curry Fried Rice (Thai Spicey) is a unique yet must try dish! Overall it’s a 4 star for me as the wait is slightly longer than I expected.
The worst! Never again! Food-service you name it - TERRIBLE!
Was on time … food was good
Love it 🥰
Staff was very nice. However, my dish had so much salt or MSG I could only eat a few bites before I couldn't take it anymore and had to stop eating. Please use less!
All the food for our party was excellent.
Lol.
Website says open, voicemail box full, I go there and sign on door says closed.
The house fried rice is amazing!
The food is good, the service is wonderful.
Amazing food! Everything is amazing!
First time there. I was annoyed by the no menus thing. You have to QR code the menu. Waitress was not helpful at first. My hubby figured out you can Google their menu. It’s still a bit difficult to navigate. She finally gave us a paper menu. Got ordered the potstickers, mango slush, and the girlfriend sushi roll. Hubby had a curry chicken stir fry noodle thing. I didn’t like the mango. No flavor and not sweet. The potstickers were good. The roll was ok. It fell apart when I tried to eat it. Hubby thought his noodle dish was ok.
It does not compare to Akame in town. If we’re feeling lazy, then maybe we’ll try again
Awesome! Two of us got The Kha Na Moo Grob, Tyra roll, appetizer combo, and Mary’s ramen and they were all delicious. Will definitely be back. If I had to make one complaint it would be it wasn’t the cleanest but wasn’t to bad
So good!
味道不错,但是等待太久了
The food is incredible! Great portion sizes and a great menu. The massaman curry is fantastic. (Not spicy at all unless you want it to be!) Loved the smoothies. The dragonfruit was especially delicious.
Delicious
Expectations were low since it is a strip mall restaurant that serves Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes and unfortunately this place lived up to them. Had Pad Thai and it was just on the cusp of being too salty to eat, and I hadn't eaten all day and could have eaten anything put in front of me. Service was OK, decor consisted of a few dirty looking tables in a room. Would not return.
Good value but not authentic pho. No basil leaves as condiment. Also too much beef stripes instead of real beef. It is a Thai restaurant alright, not Vietnamese.
had the pho, both flavors of wings, and the egg rolls. Everything was really good
Very good thai food!
Terrible service. No refills or pho condiments on the table. This is my laab, we only took a few bites before this picture. As you can see, they gave us more tripe and bean sprouts than the beef. Portion was not worth the price as well. Small. Will not be returning as the servers has terrible customer service too.
Had to wait for a menu. My appetizer was served after my meal was done. Good portions. $$ price.
Always a good experience. Try the Thai boat, it's super rich and flavorful.
Girlfriend roll and house roll were delicious. Restaurant is comfy for it's low-profile looks.
Really good food but the place was dirty
Least favorite Pad Thai ever eaten. Tiger steak was less than warm when arrived. Unfortunate as I have read so many great reviews.
Curry chicken is very good and so is veggie stir-fry with pork belly added . Spring rolls were ok not much flavor they came with a hosin sauce .
The food is always great!
First of all, the food here is fantastic!
However, NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER PHO OR SOUP FOR TAKEOUT!
IT WILL SPILL EVERYWHERE!
(Took me 3 takeout orders of pho to figure this out)
Otherwise, great!
Wonderful staff! I will be back for sure!
I had the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli - it was great! I did add peanuts and hot chili oil to it. I love that we have a really good place in town to get authentic food.
The egg rolls stood for themselves as tasting like homemade. You get 4/5.00. they are served with sweet and sour sauce and peanut sauce. Sauces weren't needed unless you wanted
This is a family restaurant and you can tell as they put out excellent food. I highly recommend this place.
The grilled salmon head was buttery, moist and delicious. Food came out quick and hot. Will not be disappointed!
My son said he wanted Sushi on our visit. My first reaction was ... hmm good sushi is hard to find. Well he insisted and not only was I pleasantly surprised. I was blown away. There food is divine! The flavors are authentic and fresh. The sushi was amazing and had very distinct flavors all amazing from spicy sushi to mild. They really did it perfectly and there staff... helpful and attentive. This is a most have stop and my new favorite restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Decided to try a new different place when my mom and I went to Eau Claire. It was a bit slow and there was a wait but short staff and covid restrictions will do that. Got the Muang Thai wings for an appetizer. They were the best wings my mom ever had and were high on the list for me as well. My mom couldn't decide which curry to order so I told her to get the red. She said it was the best curry she's ever had. Even I thought so. I don't like curry but I tasted it and it was the only one I've ever had more than a bite. I ordered the short ribs. They were very flavorful and had the best tasting and most even char to them I've ever tasted. I will definently order them again if I'm eating in Eau Claire. We had a tasty experience that's for sure.
Good food, kind of pricey.
Amazing food. Its a must for the seasoned foodie and the adventurous first timer. Got to check it out.
Truly the best pho I have ever had!
Best asian restaurant in Eau Claire. The service is excelent and the quality of the good is amazing.
Huge menu
The food is always great, and each waitress is always moving and taking care of everyone in a fast pace. They work their butts off and are very pleasant!
My friend got the papaya salad and we split that and the girlfriend rolls and oh my gosh best prices and best QUALITY around!!!! I would eat here everyday if I could it's thee best oh my gosh I will be definitely coming back for life!!!!!!!
Food was bomb and service was great will definitely eat there again
The pho was fresh but the meat was tough also they used cilantro instead of thai basil overall it was good just not great
Great food and great prices
Hands down the best Asian restaurant in Eau Claire. Amazing food decent prices and great staff. Sushi is always fresh. I highly recommend the Red Curry.
Best pho in eau claire
One of my favorites in Eau Claire! Hubby got the inferno rice which he said got spicier as you ate it. I got the curry pad thai with chicken, so delicious. And the sushi is the best in town. I got the pink lady roll this time, but other rolls I've had have been just as good.
This Thai restaurant is absolutely amazing and has the freshest ingredients around! The food is phenomenal and they always have new dishes to try. I love this place!
Stopped by Muang Thai every time my family & I drive thru Eau Claire. We live in St Paul, MN. The owner always makes something new for us to try. They have a wide variety of entree selections as well as appetizers. Their sushi are always made fresh! My favorite daily special has to be the Baked Mussels with sticky rice!
Updated: 3/2/2021 New menu with more sushi selections! Had the lobster pho the other day. Delicious!!
So good!
Great daily specials. I only had the Pho, which was excellent.
Amazing food nice people fast service over 5 star experience
Good Pho. Why is white people not allowing raw beef on the side? It's a tradition pho style. I got my pho with COOKED BEEF on the side. I asked why and the lady said it was because white people complained about raw beef on the side.
A sweet little gem we found..
Didn’t get greeted upon arrival, had to stand around until was noticed and then sat down. Poor service but our waitress was sweet. Food was okay, small portions. Probably won’t go again.
Great food. :)
Went their today with my daughter and some amazing food. I got egg rolls for an app and my daughter are half of them and she usually doesn't like them. She says the restaurant is her new favorite!!!
Thought id give this place a try! 10/10 the flavors are completely on point!
I frequent this place, never had a bad meal here. Everything is always fantastic!
This is the BEST Thai food in Eau Claire. Their pad Thai is perfect, I literally crave it all the time. Their fried chicken rice is good as well. Idk where they get their chicken or how they make it so moist and appetizing, but I'd recommend any chicken dish.
Yum. Food was great
