Highly recommend this Thai restaurant coming from a frequent VA Beach visitor. Writing this review as I’m eating my food. Very fast service, cashier was very friendly. Hot and fresh food. Love the open kitchen setting. Tried almost all the appetizers we could get with the sauces which are all delicious. Loved their Thai green tea. Definitely check out this place if you want amazing Thai food.

I've tried the massaman curry and the panang curry. Both really good, but the panang is my favorite! And the potato curry puffs are a MUST! I dip them in my curry lol. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes.

To make matters worse, the service was subpar. Our waitress seemed visibly annoyed when my wife requested a cup of water instead of purchasing a bottled drink. This created an unwelcoming and frankly, rude atmosphere. It’s incredibly poor practice to make a customer feel uncomfortable for such a simple request.

Overall, the lack of spice in the food and the unpleasant service make this a place we won't be returning to. If you're looking for authentic Thai flavors with any level of heat, or simply desire polite and respectful service, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. This restaurant needs to seriously review both its recipes and its staff training.

The food is reasonably priced. I received prompt service and the atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. Thai tea is sweet and yummy. I loved the spice level in the yellow curry. The curry puffs are so scrumptious. I do wish they came with a sauce though. I will definitely be coming back.

I ordered the yellow curry with chicken (spice level 2), Tom yum (spice level 5) and drunken noodles (spice level 3). The instant we walked in we were kindly greeted, but also given plenty of time to look at the menu before ordering. I would love to wax poetic, but no one will read that so here’s the short version.

Tom yum spice level 5- super spicy for someone who loves spicy foods. We were even given extra spices in a container. Full of flavor too. Highly recommend.

Yellow curry with chicken spice level 2 - also highly recommend this item. Perfectly flavored and spice. This is the one pictured, at halfway done.

Drunken noodles spicy level 3 - recommend eating this fresh, not to go like we did. It was still really good just the noodles were sticking together a lot.

All in all, great food and definitely my new Thai place.

This is a nice little fast food style Thai restaurant, with fresh ingredients and great customer service. It’s located just off Virginia Beach Blvd. and Lynnhaven Pkwy, close to the Hobby Lobby, so it’s pretty easy to find and not out-of-the way. The place is very clean and relaxing , with a modern decor. It’s a great spot to grab a quick bite, and the green curry is phenomenal! The egg rolls are good too, just give them a chance to cool off. The food is prepared made-to-order, so mine were still hot, and I was a little too impatient, lol! We ordered egg rolls, green curry and veggie fried rice. We also had water. The drinks didn’t come with straws, and there weren’t any readily available, but one of the staff members went to the supply area and brought us straws to our table. I thought that was very kind, especially since water is free. Just a note: The pictures are of our to-go order. I was enjoying my sit-down order so much that I forgot to photograph it.

I love this place. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Sure it doesn’t have that fancy atmosphere but the money they saved there they put into the food the service and everything else that really matters this place is Awesome

Fast food style restaurant. We ordered at the counter and food was brought to us by the staff. The fried noodles and fried rice were both delicious but the quantity was a bit smaller than expected. We got the mango sticky rice dessert and it was fantastic.

Drunken noodles were mushy and not much flavor. Also pineapple fried rice was so oily and not good flavor. Sorry, but I wouldn't get this again.

First time visiting and it won’t be the last. The food was made fresh, hot and absolutely tasty. It’s a counter order restaurant and they bring the food to your table. We ordered the Thai Fried Rice and the Pad Thai, both with chicken and a 2 star spice level. Owner was super friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes.

I have been wanting to try this place for a long time and I finally went today and it was so freaking delicious! I had the wrapped shrimp and yellow curry level 2 spice that were on point! I will definitely be going back.

I came in starving running errands w one more stop at hobby lobby to go but I just couldn’t pass the doors of this place without trying it. I got the fresh ready to go shrimp fresh rolls - homemade peanut sauce that is gluten free score!! Then I bit into and discovered it had imitation crab which has gluten. Asked staff to confirm is this imitation crab? and they did and then the owner remade a set of rolls that didn’t have the crab just for me that is celiac. I would come back simply bc it is a safe place for me to eat and it’s clear they care! Also the chicken pad Thai we got was the best I have tasted in years!!! Wonderful place!

Good food, good people, and good conversation are very hard to find, especially at a decent price. This lunchtime, I was looking to treat myself to something special, so I stopped by TASTE OF THAI. As this was my first visit, it took me a while to look over the menu, and ordering.
After mentioning that I love Thai food, and have been to Thailand a number of times, the owner and I had a really nice conversation about the food and culture of Thailand, as opposed to that of the USA.
My lunch was really good, and I really enjoyed talking with the owner. It is so nice to meet gentle, caring, open-hearted people - especially when the food is good, and the prices are fair!

This place has good selection of Thai food dishes. The flavors are authentic: the dishes I had (green curry and papaya salad) are the same as what I was used to eat when I was living in Southeast Asia. However, as in Asia, the food be very spicy. Be careful, as level 3 (out of 5) is already very hot (being used to spicy food). Finally, the staff is attentive and kind.

Amazing food and service. The best and most authentic Thai food in this area. I’ve been to Thailand. I have tried all the Thai restaurants in the area and this is by far the best. It’s a hidden gem. I eat there at least once a week.

First time here and everything was so good. Ordered pad krapow, pad Thai, green curry, papaya salad, puffs, and pancakes, Thai coffee and Thai tea. Everything was reasonably priced and friendly staff.

I had take out chicken pad Thai, and took two bites and had to throw it away. It tasted like the cook dumped a lot of liquid smoke flavor into the noodle dish for no discernible reason. For $17 I was definitely disappointed.

We have been looking for an authenthic thai spot and this one is a nice mom and pop shop. Food was delicious and fresh. You can see them cooking and they are very friendly. Place looks run down on the outside but give them a try. Its not a huge place so dont expect to come in here with a large group to eat. Limited seating available

I’ve had food here in person, I’ve ordered pick up and I’ve ordered with grub hub.. the food is AMAZING. The corn puffs are to die for. The pad Thai is to die for. Every all and every meal I’ve had has been so so so good. It’s privately and locally owned and I just love it so much.

The pumpkin curry is a seasonal curry, and it was delicious. It’s a clean restaurant and space and the staff is friendly.

I tried this place based on the reviews and because my son was playing baseball nearby and it did not disappoint. It was priced about the same as any other Thai place and served in plastic to go type containers. Not a place I would go on a date but I would 100% recommend if you are looking for a quick meal, take out or delivery. The food was great.

The food was really good. I had a combo meal for $11 which includes 3 chicken Satays,jasmine rice which had a delicious sauce with it and cucumber salad. And a bottle of water! Great deal and tasted great! Will definitely come back!

We decided to try Taste of Thai on Blvd based on the reviews. The restaurant is clean and the woman who helped us was bright and cheerful and we felt welcomed. We got Pad Thai with tofu and Drunken Noodle with Tofu. Both dishes were good and we enjoyed the food. We also ordered Curry Puffs..both the veggie and chicken. These puffs were our favorite! They have good curry flavor and we could have eaten more. In fact, they are large and we were so full after eating the puffs we started to wait to eat our meal. Try the puffs if you get a chance. For us, they could be a meal in themselves.

HORRIBLE OIf you don't know what authentic Thai taste like you'll think it is amazing. BUT IT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. wrong type of noodles for drunken noodles order spice level three and it taste and smelt like lomein. If your to lazy to drive and want some thing off grubhub highsuggest tida thai on constitution and just drive there. This was a waste of money one bite and it went in the garbage did even want to give it to by dog. HORRIBLE

Pretty great egg rolls

I made one visit here so far and ordered the pad thai (a good choice for comparison to other Thai restaurants) to go. It was quite good, and their recipe, while heavy on the egg, was refreshingly different from other Thai places nearby. The staff seems very involved and professional.
April 2023 update:
This visit the Pad Thai recipe was much more middle-of-the-road. Although more typical of American Thai restaurants, it was still pretty good.

The best in town!!!! I love the Thai tea and so many dishes that's full of flavor. The have great mannerism and service.

I want to love this place because the flavors are always delicious. My rating is lower because the quality of the food is inconsistent. The egg rolls are almost always way too greasy and oily - inedible unless you use a paper towel to soak up the excess grease. The spice level is never consistent. I have gotten level 2 that had barely any spice to it and level one that will burn you a new a—hole. Curry is delicious always but tonight was wayyyy too oily.

Lady who took order was nice. Ordered crab fried rice, larb chicken salad and pad see ew with chicken. It was ok at best. The salad had about 5 pieces of lettuce and favor wasn't all that. Pad see ew not great either as well as fried rice. I went here based on reviews, I guess people haven't experienced good Thai food to compare to, I have, an this place missed the mark. I ordered to go and didn't receive a single utensil or napkin.

Decided to stop by for lunch since I was in the area. Ordered online, picked up, it’s an easy process. Let me tell you, this was one of THE BEST Thai meals I’ve had in Hampton Roads. I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I don’t live in VB but I will be taking the drive just to enjoy lunch here!!! Everything delicious.

Love getting lunch here, I always get the pork skewers with rice and a side of thai pancakes which are these flat, crispy, fluffy Naan like bread disks that are absolutely irresistible. The pork is tender and full of flavor, grilled to perfection. I always mix the peanut sauce you get with the rice and make little thai tacos with the pancakes and it's absolutely heavenly!

I just ordered this for lunch after seeing it pop up new on DoorDash and I’m in love! I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken, Spicy level 3 (nice warm spice but not too much) and some Vegetable curry puffs. The Pad Thai is delicious, super flavorful, fresh ingredients and a great portion. I’ve had other Pad Thai in the area and it doesn’t compare to how good this one is! It tastes very fresh and is bright and individual ingredients shine.
The curry puffs are so amazing! Slightly sweet, and the pastry is so good. They are addicting. Definitely will be a repeat orderer.

We ordered 2 drunken noodles for carry out. One with shrimp and the other with chicken. We were amazed how inexpensive the meals were compared with other Thai restaurants in the area. The taste and spice levels were perfect! This will be our new go to for Thai for sure!

Very happy with our visit. My wife and I enjoyed our dishes and the staff was very kind. It’s a fast casual restaurant which is different than all the other Thai restaurants in our area but their food was top notch.

Ordered 7 dishes with our family and most agreed it was above average for VA Beach, but nothing special. There were some good food flavors (the curries and soups) but the consistency on the spice level could be improved.

Really delicious!! This place is a gem and I'm so glad we discovered it. We ordered tons of stuff for carry out. Everyone will love the custard puff desert. I personally prefer the sticky rice as it's less sweet and the char from banana leaf is aromatic and delicious. Spice level 2 was perfect for some of us, I prefer 3. When my dad goes back he'll probably try level 4. It's all very delicious and affordable! The food is tasty and flavorful, and the service is friendly.

Very glad to have this place open so close to my house. This is a fairly small space, which is probably why the menu is somewhat limited, focusing on salads and skewers. They do offer specials that broaden the offerings.

The two curries on special (massaman and penang) were both very good, with a better mix of vegetables than is common in most local Thai restaurants. Som tum was excellent, more spicy than sweet. Curry puffs and summer rolls (the latter were complimentary) weren't to my taste but were enjoyed by my wife. The best things were the vegetable egg rolls, stuffed with a ton of cabbage and cooked in nice clean oil. (I'm sure volume accounts for the blackened springs rolls around town, but still.) I'm not sure that these are a regular menu item, but hopefully they become permanent.

The owners only seemed happy to see some business, so I hope people will check them out. This hasn't been the best space for restaurants and it would be nice to see this one stick around.
