Our commitment is to provide you with the best Asian cuisine option to satisfy your hunger and to provide you with a variety of option to ensure you have the best culinary experience
Place was really cozy and staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular!!! Thai coffee was really tasty and sweet. But the Pad see eww and Tiger steak was cooked with authentic seasoning and presented with love. You can taste it in every bite! Don’t hesitate to try this place or you will end up regretting it!
Let's start with the best part of our experience. The food was delicious. And I will certainly go back again. The service was friendly, but I am sorry I don't speak Thai because it was a bit difficult to make myself understood. But they certainly worked hard to accommodate me in that area.
This is a small restaurant with only a few seating tables. I noticed a lot of takeout and I think this must account for at least half of their business. There is nothing bad about the atmosphere, but this is not a luxurious dining room or anything like that. I will say that even as the tables filled up and people carried on conversations, my wife and I were still able to hear each other easily. That is a big plus for me.
Cute, cozy and accommodating spot. Located on an end street so easy access if you need to run in and out. Best authentic Thai cuisine I’ve had in RVA. Flavor was memorable! I’ve tried two other places since my visit and their taste is unmatched! Nice sized portions. I was able to eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Waitress was on the ball…refilling drinks without asking and checked on us periodically. Would definitely recommend and visit again and again!
Btw: Thai hot carried some heat but it wasn’t inedible as some restaurants I’ve visited.
Stopped in because it smelled delicious as we walked by. Curry puffs perfect. Drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp outstanding. My wife liked the red curry beef and chicken. Mild was spicy enough. Very gracious service. Chairs a little uncomfortable but nice inside. Thanks for the wonderful food and service! :)
My food was incredible! I can’t believe there’s not more hype around this place. I got one of their specials which was crab fried rice, and it was spectacular. Amazing flavor, fresh crab and fresh shrimp, and it was piping hot even though I ordered it for pickup. I also got the fried tofu appetizer which was also great, crispy tofu and the peanut dipping sauce was delicious. I hope more people start coming to this place, they deserve it!
I am kind of particular about my drunken noodles. Too often they are soaked in grease or too sweet. Here at Ginger Thai they were exceptional! Service was great. Heat was as requested (hot). We were very pleased with this restaurant choice.
Great food (flavorful, fresh ingredients, decent portions), efficient, albeit transactional service in a modestly decorated space with an additional covered outdoor eating area facing Cary Street.
Over cooked noodles not very good

Most food are great but not sure if I like fried spring rolls though. Also, it's very hard to find the parking.
Great Carytown Thai food. Delicious curry with tofu and eggplant with vegetables!
Yummy authentic Thai food and great service
Best Thai food I have ever had, been going here for years. Worth the 2 hour round trip.
Basil fried rice tasted good . Drunken noodles 👎 also over priced .
Great service and food was delicious, crispy duck definitely a must

Great Thai food served with ❤️

Curry was on point! Awesome sweet iced coffee to pair with any flavorful spiced dish.
Didn’t even order but the ladies let me use their bathroom and I was in excruciating pain. 10/10

Food is really tasty
Tom kha gai soup (mild) is very good. If you want to get lit on fire, feel free to get the (medium) or SPICY. Any stuffy sinus issues? This soup will fix that problem. Another delicious😋 must-have item on the menu is the Bangkok Chicken.
Went here for lunch today with my sisters and it was delicious! Not only that, but this place is cozy and so inviting. Our waitress was a joy, she quite literally welcomed us with open arms. Our food was amazing, service was excellent, solid vegan and vegetarian selection.
Spicy, fresh and good! Tasty food!
Excellent food! I would definitely recommend this restaurant. A bit pricey but the food was so good, I didn’t mind paying a little more.
Love this gem of a restaurant! Everything was great. Food quality was perfect. Veggies were fresh, bite-sized, and crunchy cooked. Shrimp was fresh, tender, and juicy. Sauces were just right. I recommend the chicken on a stick appetizer with peanut sauce. For an entree, I had broccoli and carrot stir fry with shrimp, brown sauce, and jasmine rice. We had a yummy dessert made with rice and coconut topped with whipped cream. Very sweet and great texture as a finishing touch. Our server couldn't have been more wonderful.
Excellent food,service.
First time eating here. Had lunch with friends and the customer service was outstanding and the food was fantastic. I had a lunch special with chicken and broccoli and also had the fresh shrimp spring rolls. Will come back again!
Excellent food, especially the broth for the wonton soup; best flavor.
Most sweet and caring owner. The food is always fresh, flavorful, creative and presentable. They always give satisfying portions that make me feel like my money was more than well spent. The restaurant is warm and cozy even though I usually do take out and have only eaten inside once. Also if you like spicy, you can choose your spice level. As someone who always chooses spicy and eats spicy every day the "make me cry" option is no joke. It should be chosen carefully, occasionally, and with a backup plan.
Food was great. Service was stellar. Seating was lovely. I ordered the Penang curry. Would definitely eat it again, and everyone was so kind.
Food was good
I just love this place. It’s very quaint and not so large. They do not have a bar but they do serve ‘some’ beer and ‘some’ wine….I’ve never bother with that so can’t comment. I will say the food is well worth the trip. You get plenty and it’s PLENTY FLAVORFUL. It’s a serene atmosphere…I started going here after my daughter was murdered…I felt peace here for some odd reason. I go every chance I get! I missed my favorite waitress..the only waitress…this last time. I did discover that they have changed hours…I haven’t figured out the other ‘changes’ yet - but it wasn’t in taste! Yeah!!!
I love this place food is always amazing. You can tell they might need more people but I still come here lol that blue crab fried rice isssss amazing!!!
Been there twice. Yummy food.
IMO, this place the best Thai food in the area.
The food just tastes FRESH and appropriately cooked from scratch. The vegetables will not be overcooked and mushy which is what you frequently can get from other [nearby] restaurants where they're probably just dumping curry out of a can.
No... this is the GOOD stuff.
All of the staff that I've interacted with here have also been very sweet and awesome. Can't go wrong here.
Waiter was really nice, the service was great. My only issue is that one of the dishes was served (intentionally) cold, which is unusual for a meat dish. It wasn't bad, I would have just liked that tidbit in the menu so I could have opted out. My soup was phenomenal, though, and the other party member really enjoyed his dinner
Great food and service, best Thai food I have had!
My fav Thai in the city, really good and prices are fair. Love eating on the patio when it’s spring.
The food has gotten a bit too expensive here. Used to be a go-to for Thai food but I stopped going during COVID due to the significant prices increases. I do love how spicy their food is though. Their Thai Hot is legit. I would go half-deaf and pour snot out of my nose when I ate the Thai Hot here, which is how it's supposed to be.
This is my favorite Thai place in Richmond. It's not the fanciest but the food is definitely the best. Great location too. The owner is so lovely and cares a lot about her business. Our favorites are the pad see ew, Basil fried rice and any of the curries.
Excellent food, huge portions, very attentive staff.
The server was super nice and chill, the food was delicious and the restaurant was colorful on the inside. I've been here several times before and never had any issues.
Kind of quiet at 5:30-6 pm. Curry dish was good. So was the vegan Tom kha soup. Service was great.
The drunken noodles were delicious!
The food quality is very poor. Seemed to me like pre-packaged food from the restaurant depot. The portions were extremely small with a ton of rice. The take-out was also tiny. I would not recommend going here from a value perspective.
Best Tom yum soup I've had by far! Absolutely worth a try.
Cute, cozy and accommodating spot. Located on an end street so easy access if you need to run in and out. Best authentic Thai cuisine I’ve had in RVA. Flavor was memorable! I Loveeeee!! This place food is AMAZING! Staff is Amazing everything is Amazing highly recommended
Está deliciosa la comida 😋
I love that they give plates to everyone before the food comes because the meals are big enough to split several ways. We had the ginger fried rice, Thai tea and panang curry. The food was amazing, were going to make this a default destination when we come to carytown.
I’ve been coming here for 15 years now and my favorite plates have not changed! Still the best pad see ew and spicy drunken noodle to me in the country.
This is one of those places I take visiting guests too. Their prices are fair, there’s a huge variety of options on the menu and I’ve never had a bad experience.
My favorite Thai place. Simple, clean, fresh food. Love the tiger salmon with the green apple salad!!
One of our favorite local spots, and arguably the most authentic Thai food in Richmond! The portion sizes usually leave us with at least one extra meal leftover. Typically, there is only one waitress, but she works very hard, is very efficient, and is also incredibly sweet. Their Thai iced tea is also delicious!
Ordered spicy basil fried rice with pad Thai. I am giving the food four stars because the pad Thai was a bit soggy for me, I tend to like my pad Thai on the hard side. The basil fried rice was soo good. I love spicy stuff 🔥 so the spice just made the fried rice a 10/10. Ordered a Shirley Temple and it tasted really well. Our server was very nice and patient with us too. Quick Service, I will definitely be going back there for fried rice anytime I am in Richmond.
Favorite Thai food in Richmond!
Such a variety of food options! The entrees were huge and the owner is so sweet and caring. We ordered so much food and ate our fill and still had leftovers that we crushed later at home.
Great family-owned Thai joint. All the traditional meals you would expect at a Thai restaurant. I had some Pad Thai, which was very good. Huge portion and glad to see "Thai hot" was actually spicy. Give these folks some love; cool little restaurant.
Great experience, delicious food, iffy service.
The food was really good and the atmosphere if very pretty. It's also vegan and vegetarian friendly!😊
Enjoyed food there and so I felt sorry to see not many reviews on this restaurant. I had pad thai with big shrimp and my husband had a rice with black pepper garlic sauce with Shrimp. Pad thai portion was decent but since it was so yummy I finished them all. Lol. Garlic pepper shrimp was not great but ok. For noodle dish it seems kinda pricy though. Maybe that’s why not many reviews? And why it’s not 5 stars from me.
There’s only one server so if it gets crowded, you may not be able to get much attention but when I was there she was still pretty efficient and food arrived in reasonable time. I would likely go back
I ordered the General Tso shredded beef. Delicious and medium hotness was just spicey enough! My wife loved the Basil Fried Rice too. The food is great at this little place in Richmond!
I've been to Ginger on a number of occasions and it's always an A+ meal. For my last visit, I had the drunken noodles and the depth of flavor was incredible. A word of warning, the custom spiciness level is no joke, even for a life-long pepper-head, so choose with caution!
The food was pure Excellence. Different taste, Excellent quality. Trust me, you'll love itttttt......
Over priced, salty, soggy food.
A cup of Tom yum soup with 2 pcs of jumbo prawns was salty and $10!!!
Singapore noodles with jumbo prawns was wet and soggy. Had flavors but not enough to save it from a 2 star rating.
Satay was so so.
Basil fried rice with beef was good but not $18 worth!
The only good thing about this place was the $1 public parking for 12 hrs!
Food is good. Little pricing. Decor is not outdated. Got food fast and service was ok. I would go again,!
Delightful.
A bit pricey
Delicious!
Deelish! Best meal ever..Singapore noodles with shrimp, the vegetables were just right..tender crisp asparagus and cucumbers plus more..very filling and we took half home.
Our waitress is always so accommodating..she couldn't have done more for us. The restaurant is always extremely clean and our waitress is consistently masked...Our fave place on Cary Street in the Fan
Amazing service and food. The woman that runs the front was super fast and attentive. Small restaurant with the best Thai I’ve ever had.
delicious meal and very kind staff
Food was tasty, a big portion, and quick.
My favorite thai restaurant. Ingredients are clean and fresh.
Some of the best Thai food in Richmond, worth the price.
My favorite Thai restaurant in Richmond
Food is delicious. Small and cozy atmosphere.
Disappointing food. Thin curry that taste like broth. Not authentic at all. The waitress is nice though.
Truly one of the best Thai restaurants in RVA. I like the many menu options available. I will definitely be going back!
I loved this restaurant 😍. There were several options for vegan and vegetarians. We were seated quietly once we arrived. However, there was only one waitress working at the time. Nevertheless, the service was still pretty quick. I'll highly recommend this spot and look forward to returning.
Absolutely loved this place!! Great service and food was so delicious. I got yellow curry and it had such a great flavor. Was very pleased with my experience and will be back!
From our experience the food was pretty mediocre
So good
We’ve been coming here for many years, first when I was dating my wife, then when we were married, and now we order takeout to eat with our kids at home. Food is arroi mak mak (very delicious), service is always excellent. Our go to order is pad thai, green curry, and drunken noodles. Best thai in town!
Is always good everytime I go there!
Really good Thai food. The Blue Crab Fried Rice is amazing
The service was excellent. My friends and I ordered medium heat and it was mild. The last time I was there I ordered medium heat and it was pretty hot and I loved it. Do just to say, consistency is a challenge for them.
One of the more tastier, flavorful and authentic Thai restaurants in VA. Everytime I'm in town this is one of my favorite places to eat
Chicken Pad Thai & Steamed dumplings were incredible. Service was great! Small dinning area and outdoor covered patio. Great for a Date night or takeout.
A cozy and client oriented restaurant. The food was fresh and tasty
My food was incredible! I can’t believe there’s not more hype around this place. I got one of their specials which was crab fried rice, and it was spectacular. Amazing flavor, fresh crab and fresh shrimp, and it was piping hot even though I ordered it for pickup. Always bring yhe best expectations
First time taking out from here. Definitely not the last. Everyone loved their meal!
Underrated Thai spot - friendly owner and delicious Pad Thai and Basil Fried Rice. The Pad Thai is one of the best I have had in the US - definitely try ordering online sometime!
Absolutely delicious and filling. We ate outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed the front-row to Carytown people watching while leisurely brunching authentic Thai.
The food is amazing, and the service is great. Every time I'm in the area, I go here.
bro the thai tea here had me gripping the table
Best Thai food I’ve had
Always awesome!!! Favorite Thai 😊
Sister brought me here for dinner on a Friday night. This was my first experience with Thai food. I know... where the hell have I been???
Anyway, this gem in the heart of Carytown is clearly a popular spot. They had a full house of dine-in customers, although we were lucky enough to get a seat right away.
While there, I noticed a busy stream of customers picking up carryout orders as well. All of this service was somehow handled quickly and efficiently by one amazing woman. It was fascinating to watch her in action. She didn't miss a beat moving between diners and take-out customers. Nobody had to wait long to be taken care of.
I'm presuming the kitchen was run in a similar manner as well. Our food arrived very shortly after we gave our order. It was all so fresh and well prepared - and so delicious!
We shared an order of fresh shrimp spring rolls. Amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed my entrée of red peppers, onions, mushrooms & cashews with chicken that was served with jasmine rice. My sister had an equally flavorful soup made with coconut milk and a lovely combination of fresh vegetables, mushrooms, and shrimp.
Forgive my lack of Thai food vocabulary! Their menu was quite extensive. I look forward to my next visit so I can try more of their offerings.
I'm not a fan of dealing with the traffic and parking issues in Carytown. (Thankfully, my sister did the driving.) This establishment, however, is well worth the transportation hassle. You must venture down here for a meal. You won't be disappointed!
This neighborhood Jem has been a favorite of mine for over 25 years. A family owned restaurant with a great menu and delicious tastes! Personal service from the owner and staff who are so gracious and friendly. Enjoy the outdoor seating with a great people watching spot on Cary Street in Cary Town.
Great food! Good service! My husband and I can’t wait to go back again!
Always a good experience! Love the Tom Yum soup. Can get crowded quickly due its limited homie style occupant size dining area n it's somewhat pricey but the food n service is right on point.
This and Nisa Thai are my two gotos in Richmond. The staff and food are unparalleled.
First time I had Thai food, it was good. Service was good ad well
Great Thai food. Lovely owners. We come often with our grand babies and they are always so accommodating. Highly recommend!!
Pros: Food was hot and very flavorful. Very authentic tasting. Big portions.
Cons: manager/owner was just sitting in a table watching and not helping out while there was only one server. Even then, the server was rude and impolite. She did not acknowledge our pleases or thank yous and just served us while looking in another direction or out the window.
