Spicy chicken fried rice: 4.5/5 overall the flavors were very good with a nice kick in Spice. The chicken was definitely the star it was tasty with just right texture. You get a lot of food. The only reason I took off half a star was I asked for the spiciest and they didn’t give me the Spicy stuff. It was more of a mild Spice.
Tida Thai offers wonderful hospitality and delicious food.
We were visiting Virginia Beach and saw this Thai restaurant located near our hotel in the Virginia Beach Town Center. We stopped by to place an order for take out as they were about to close. This quaint restaurant was dimly lit, creating an intimate ambiance.
We ordered Beef Pad See Ew and Combination Fried Rice. I thought the fried rice was good. The pad see ew, however, was just okay. The flat noodles were a little overcooked for my preference and the taste was slightly sweeter than I expected.
I did appreciate them being open, as we were really craving some Thai food. The lady who helped us was very nice, as was an older woman (maybe the owner’s mother?) who greeted us with her warm smile.
Ridiculously amazing tend to the american/thai cuisine. Thai tea was good, so was the soup and the items off the wok menu. Noodles were perfect on the pad see ew. I was craving shrimp at the time and it was really good. The flavors aren't authentic but still incredible, don't knock something just cause it isn't authentic!!! Slightly pricey but if you enjoy thai food it's well worth it
Still serving some delicious food with friendly service! Enjoyed the Chicken Lettuce Wraps with minced chicken with carrot, mushroom, water chestnuts topped with scallion. Also the Thai Dumplings with marinated shrimp and minced chicken wrap with wonton skin steamed served with chef’s special soy sauce!!! And lastly, the PAD THAI
- stir-fried thin rice noodle with bean spout, scallion, peanut and egg.
RECOMMENDED!! 😋
We are a family of 4, and we eat Thai food multiple times a week since our family is part Thai. This restaurant is authentic and quite good. We didn't expect to find such a good Thai place in the middle of Dowtown and so close to our hotel. The waitress was super friendly and greeted us in Thai. The overall ambiance is nice. The place is spacious and has good spacing between the tables. We went on a rainy night so not alot of people, so it was covid friendly. The overall restaurant and bathroom are clean, and the place is well decorated with fresh flowers and pictures of all the Thai kings on the wall.
We were offered a complementary salad with ginger sauce. We ordered seafood tom kha soup, beef glass noodles, crab fried rice, spicy beef salad, and chicken massan curry. The kid friendly dishes were the crab fried rice, glass noodles, soup, and massaman chicken. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, tangy ginger sauce from the complementary salad. The winning dish was savory seafood tom kha and the beef salad. The soup had the delectable scallop and generous portion of straw mushrooms. The soup was perfect for a wet rainy day. My husband ordered his beef salad extra Thai spicy, and the chef delivered (and that's how we know they are authentic).
We got the Pad See Eaw, Pad Thai, Fried Rice, and Panang Curry for take out. Besides panang curry being too watered down (picture posted), everything else was 10/10. I ordered a 1 spice level for everything and it was too spicy for my kid who likes spicy but it was perfect for the adults. The take out portions are the biggest take out portions i’ve ever had, so love that.

Gorgeous and delicious 🤩
Vegans come thru. They don’t skimp on the tofu here. Very tasty.
Consistently great food. I eat here at least twice a week.
I had dinner at Tida Thai as part of a business conference trip.
I had high expectations, as Thai cuisine is supposed to incorporate sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. There should also be attention to detail in presentation. Unfortunately, Tida Thai failed on all of these criteria.
We started with a Sampler appetizer. That sampler had 2 shrimp bikini, 2 crab Rangoon, 3 dumpling, 4 calamari, 2 spring roll, and 4 fried tofu. The tofu was dry and bland, like eating a stir fried piece of cardboard. The spring rolls were burned and lacked any depth, instead seeming more like frozen fare. The rest was subpar as well.
I started with some Tom Ka with Chicken. The soup was sour and salty, but had an off taste. The chicken was bland and had a boiled texture and no flavor. Not a good start. For my entrée, I had the cashew chicken. In typical Thai versus Chinese-American cashew, it is a drier stir fry with a more intense sauce flavor. I did not get that at all. I got a watery, bland sauce that was minimally seasoned and the same boiled chicken strips. It tasted OK, but had no wow factor.
The other guests in my party had the papaya salad, hottest heat level. They stated it was pretty good.
Overall, I felt disappointed and regretted my decision to dine at this establishment. It should have been a warning sign that we were the only people in there. Service was good yet there was no offer of any drinks other than tap water with ice. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
First time, delicious 😋
It is great food but no dining, one can seat and eat from a take away container. But is not dining, great food though.
Why does this place have two names? On google maps?
There pad thai a little bit of sweet 😋
Great food!! Some of the best Thai food I’ve had!
I'm currently writing this from my bathroom which I haven't left in almost 4 hours because of the Tom Kha soup with shrimp that I got. Please please please do better about your sanitary food practices. I love Tom Kha soup and there are so few places in the area that have it for a reasonable price.
Pad Thai is so good. Always get extra spicy lv 10 to destroy my body and afternoon.
Perfect little quaint get away for lunch or a quiet dinner! Friendly staff and peaceful atmosphere! Food portions are quite large and you will have delicious left overs! My meal was full of flavor and quite tasty! If you are looking for some satisfying Thai Food in a relaxing atmosphere, this is the place for you!
正宗的泰国料理,服务生亲切友好,一切都是完美的!
Hidden gem! The food was perfect!
Food was incredible. If you haven’t been here, I suggest you change that. I ordered green curry with pork level 3. I love spicy food and this was a very impressive amount of heat! But very creamy too with many vegetables, aromatic flavors, and pieces of tender pork, cooked perfectly.
I ordered tom ka with tofu level 4, which was also excellent. Tofu was soft, spicy/sour soup was amazing. Really beautiful food. I’ll be back soon!
Ordered chicken and egg plant with rice. I wanted to try something I usually don’t order at a Thai restaurant. I’m glad I did. This was delicious. Chicken and egg plant very tasty. Veggies were firm and cooked to perfection. Plenty for leftovers too. Service was friendly and fast.
Amazing food, never been disappointed & I’ve ate here 20+ times.
So yummy!!
Ordered out 2 times. Both times the food was delicious and well spiced (I enjoy that but there's options to avoid that when ordering if you don't). Ordered the spring rolls, a curry and drunken noodles. Spring rolls are crispy, portions are large and plenty of the protein choice added to the dishes too. This is now our go to Thai restaurant in Norfolk.

Alright listen everyone. This place is absolutely fantastic. Me and the person I went with couldn’t figure out why the place was empty. Food fantastic, server fantastic, price fantastic. Let’s fill this place up on Saturday nights.
Excellent food and service!
I ordered on Uber eats, got the Panang curry which was watery and bland… the pad Thai was ok and the drunken noodles were very mushy… overall disappointing. The Thai tea was good but for the quality of the meal it is significantly over priced.
Big fan of Tida Thai. I use to go to the town center location regularly until I moved to norfolk. I was so happy when they opened one up closer to me. The food is always great. I will say I have never dined in, but from picking up my orders it looks very nice inside
Place was deserted, no staff were available to greet us upon arrival, even after waiting 10 minutes. Food was…fine but for the prices they’re charging, it’s absolutely disgraceful. Sauce was bland and the chicken was of the same caliber as that of a cheap Chinese takeout. I wouldn’t recommend coming here

RECOMMENDED!! 😋
I ordered the curry lamb and it was clearly NOT lamb it was beef and I know because I don’t eat beef. I tried to tell them that but they said it was lamb as if I wouldn’t know better. After going back and forth they told me to return it, IN THE MIDDLE OF A TROPICAL STORM. They should have just given me my money back for it because they know damn well they are selling beef trying to up charge you and pass it off as lamb. I will not be eating here again. God only knows what else they substitute their other meats for 🐱
Ordered on doordash so can't speak to physical restaurant, but my pad Thai was delicious! Not skimpy on the peanuts and I like that they were finely chopped, and the spice level I ordered was perfect. I only get pad Thai from places that let you choose a spice level
Delicious food!
The quality of the food is not worth the price!!! I ordered soup and pad Thai and it was awful!!!! Outside the place lis dirty
My meal was awesome, and the price
Not really what I expected. Curry was soupy and waitress was unfriendly. Maybe other dish is better
Our favorite Thai place in Norfolk! Always happy with the quality of the food. Would recommend the crispy spring rolls, papaya salad, kapaw, pad see eaw, and pad Thai.
I'm from out of town but work in Norfolk a lot. I eat here quite a bit. I really enjoy the spicy fried rice. They have a constant stream of people picking up take out but hardly ever anyone dining in. This means I pretty much get their undivided attention. Water always topped off, fast service. Bill paid fast. However, it kind of takes away from any atmosphere. It's library quiet and I'm just.... Alone.
Could not ask for more authentic
First time dine in experience. My bill came to $24.69 and I chose to give $40 cash to avoid paying the 5% credit card charge. I received $11.10 back. You do the math.
Ordered the chicken drunken noodles last night and woke at 3AM with the worst food poisoning I’ve ever experienced. Felt like my stomach was going to explode until the food started coming out from both ends. I think I’m done with Thai for the foreseeable future.
Had the Pad Prik with chicken. The dish was very delicious and full of flavor and came quickly.
The service was ok. Seating took a while and my server didn't ask if I wanted it hotter, so if you want your dish with more spice, you will need to just request it.
Inside interior is a little dated but clean and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Great Thai food! The drunken noodles were perfect as were the spring rolls.
I intentionally walked past one Thai food restaurant to go to this one. I always get the same thing the first time I visit a Thai restaurant; Green curry with prawns and steamed rice. It had all the elements that I liked the most in a green curry. The serving size was perfect for one person. The prices are reasonable and the service was very good.
We've ordered from here several times now, I feel completely comfortable with giving them 5 stars. Food is fantastic. Crab Rangoon is delightfully crisp on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Pad Thai rocks and is full of flavor, well-textured and easy to eat. The cashew is delicious and super satisfying, and has left us hungry for more everytime. Can recommend this place for dinner any night anyone is in the mood for Thai. Surprisingly quick preparing the food, it's hot and cooked well, and they're friendly
Very good food, I will certainly come back next time I'm in town.
I do not recommend this restaurant. I've ordered from them twice already, and both times I got sick. I think the seafood was undercooked and was definitely unseasoned. I believe they rush their delivery orders. Two strikes and both times I got sick - I think I'll pass on the third. No thanks! Beware!
Here on Navy Business, love Thia, rated 4.7 and wanted try it. Very disappointed, order there favorite dish plate "Hawaiian Fried Rice, humm rice was thick paste, chicken was limited and OMG the shrimp was bad, like raw/spoiled it looked. Order a wine of glass/italy merolt, tasted like it was stored in back open bottle. Tonight was not busy at all. Not impressed. top it off, order my dessert, by them getn our checks and then brings it. smh. not good at all, mango not fresh tasted water like, the rice was worse then the food. smh.
BEST PAD THAI!!!! I’ve lived in a few different cities and always try the different spots. of everywhere I’ve been too Tida thai takes the cake!
Very clean. Great food and atmosphere. The service is outstanding. The price is favorable.
Decided to stop by on a whim. The food here is amazing! Their dishes are full of flavor and worth the price. The staff is also very friendly and generous. I will definitely revisit
It was quiet and quaint as I like it. It was close to closing so it is sometimes expected.
Give them a try food is spicy and flavorful.
Anne was so kind and welcoming! The food was delicious and at the *perfect* spice level. As a vegan Thai is usually my go-to and the menu here has plenty of flavorful options at a reasonable price. Will definitely visit next time I'm in Norfolk!!
Absolutely delicious. Loved everything I have tried here.
This is my favorite gym
This chicken pad thai is so unbelievably good
The food is great! Just wish they filled the rice container to the top. This is my second time ordering and it’s only 2/3 full of rice. Other than that it’s healthy and fast!
Great food
Thought the Upton Drive location was over priced and not worth it, but beloved wanted to try Granby location. I got home a couple of hours ago and I have been yobagoyaed! NEVER AGAIN.
Great Pad Thai!

Had take out with the family. Kids’ favorite is pad see ew which was pretty good. Also had panang curry and eggplant which were both fairly good. Tom ka soup was good. Appetizers were good - tried fried spring rolls, crab Rangoon, and garden rolls. Staff was very friendly and attentive, wearing masks appropriately.
We ordered on Grubhub. Something in the system messed up and we ended up only getting part of our order. The restaurant was apologetic and quick to fix the issue. On top of that, the food was delicious. Exactly what we needed for a Sunday night in.
Food is great, but that's it, service needs help, walked in and had to call someone in the back to help us, then after we were done, we didn't see anybody either, but the food is great 😄
I ordered take-out. My first time. I had my favorite Tom Ka soup and Chicken Curry.
Both were delicious !! Flavor is wonderful ... lo
Absolutely fantastic. Some of the best food I've had in Norfolk!
This is seriously the most legit Thai restaurant in the Norfolk / Hampton Roads area (along with their other restaurant in Virginia Beach). I love getting the pad krapow special with the fried egg. Their pumpkin curry is insanely flavorful! The noodles from the pad see ew are always on point! Don’t sleep on this place whether you’re dining in or getting takeout!
It's my first time here with my bf and I'm impressed. We ordered the Thai dumplings for appetizers and the duck curry for entrée. Both of them are delicious, especially the duck curry. Highly recommended!
Delicious pad Thai! Tom Kah soup was very thin and the flavor was off.
Food was tasty, portions were generous! Staff was friendly. Pad thai was a little on the bland side, but that might be due to personal spice preference.
Food was delicious, really good service too. They could have run the ac a little colder though, kinda warm if you’re dining in.
