I’ve never found a place that comes close to competing with Bangkok Garden. A restaurant should be known, above all, for its food, and this one truly excels in that department. Everything I ordered was incredible, bursting with flavors I’d forgotten existed. You can taste the artistry in every dish here. I’d gladly go back to explore more of their menu—and the prices are great, too.

I have Door Dash from Ya Ya several times now since I have moved back to Norfolk. Thay have not disappointed. I love the steamed dumplings. I have gotten the fried chicken wings Wonton soup combo pancit( not correct name) . The spicy wontons was not my favorite. But I will definitely be ordering quite often.

Quite a find off of Granby Street in Norfolk. Sign sits on top of the roof line like that of a theatre. When you enter you are greeted by an ambience akin to old imperial setting - dark benches, chandelier, carved artwork on walls. Clean tables and walls. It’s a Sunday at around 4pm, past their luncheon service that ends at 3pm. Love their menu that offers healthy choices - boiled chicken or shrimp or combo chicken/shrimp and mixed vegetables. Such an entree cones with brown rice and a fortune cookie if to go.
Seems a-buzzing with Cary out orders as it seems it’s the only Chinese restaurant within main Granby area.
Took my order of chicken and mixed veggies home. Serving size was huge for 1 person but it was so good that I broke
my 7 hour fast just to enjoy the entire meal. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, you must! I will definitely come back and dine in and try their other dishes. Their Thai fish will be my next order….

The food is ridiculously and consistently delicious. I'm vegan, and they make special accommodations without any problems. They use yellow rice as their fried rice, which is so good.

No wait staff when we went, which honestly I prefer! Went on a recommendation from Yell and it was pretty solid. We got the Thai crispy shrimp, honey chicken, and triple delight. It was pretty solid American Chinese food. I can't 5 star it because I've had really amazing American Chinese but price and quality I would definitely return if I lived here.

This place is no longer a sit down restaurant, but you can still order food here and take it to go or sit in a booth. The food here was really good, on par if not better than the Asian restaurants around it!

Ok, Crab Rangoon is delicious, real flavorful crab. Admirals chicken, is excellent choice. Fried rice is perfect as well. If you haven't tried this place! You must!

I have some real mixed feeling about this place. If I were to compare it to a sit-down Chinese restaurant, I'd be pretty disappointed with the quality of the food. If I were to compare it to other take-out Chinese restaurants, the food is actually pretty outstanding. Unfortunately, the food is priced like this is a sit-down.

For an entry, drink, and appetizer, I spent 28 dollars. For the same oder at my local take-out, I'd pay half that for the same amount of food with only a modest drop in quality.

I understand that these prices are what they are do to the area, and the food *is* good - just temper your expectations before choosing to come here.

I’ve ordered food Ya Ya Asian only twice. The food is okay, nothing outstanding but decent. It’s not one of my favorite Chinese food spots but it’ll do when you’re hungry and craving Chinese. However, the area it’s located in is horrible for parking. But otherwise, pretty good restaurant.

General Tso was a little over cooked and was a little tough. The flavor was good, the rice was good, and the cool Aqua S ice cream desert was very tasty, but the chicken was. Disappointment. If I go back, I might try something else.

What happened? This used to be one of the best places to go for really good Asian food but now...? I ordered fried wontons and wonton soup. It's obvious the fried wontons are commercially produced because they are exactly the same and deep fried to an unpleasant crisp instead of the fried on one side and soft on the other. And the soup was just hot water with some seasoning and small nuggets of doughy meat. I'm so disappointed. What happened?

When I was there it was dinner time but we had to order from the counter because they didn't have anyone to do table service.

Everything was ok. The Thai crispy fish was a bit disappointing in terms of the portion since it was only the top layer with the fish and everything underneath was just rice.

The food was delicious. I read the reviews then stopped by for lunch while visiting Norfolk. I was surprised by how delicious the food tasted because I dined-in but food was served in to-go boxes. The to-go boxes appeal does not give any taste indication. Visual perception deceived but taste buds revealed the delicious food.

The hot & sour soup was spicy but spicy delicious. The egg roll was really good & sizable. One of the best egg rolls I have eaten with good flavor & stuffed content. Fried rice served with spicy curry chicken was delicious.

I drove from Suffolk and it was worth it! Had the General TSO/ Sesame chicken, shrimp and broccoli, vegetable lo mein, and egg rolls, really good. Cici was very patient and professional. Please try this restaurant if you get a chance.

Probably the weirdest restaurant I’ve been in so far. I don’t mind picking up the menus myself and having to address myself first, but the service was just downright unnerving. No one greets, no one smiles, just what do you want and get out of here…the food was great but reviews are only for the service. I tried my best to smile for the person in the front but again. It was really quiet and unnerving…

The best Asian food anywhere around. Cici and her team are the best and consistently deliver high quality food with a smile. We drive 20 minutes to go to YaYa’s, it’s always worth the trip. Highly recommend, you won’t regret giving YaYa’s a try.

My first and maybe my last. Though I enjoyed their sesame chicken lunch combo, a little pricey too for lunch price oh well. I was disappointed because I waited for more than 10 minutes. The fact I ordered before the 3 Chinese family their orders came out first before mine. And they ordered a lot compared to just one lunch order I ordered smh. The chicken was very good. The rice and egg drop were also good, but egg drop soup tasted more salty than anything else. The place only gives food in to-go containers. You had to go to the counter to place your order and have the option to dine in after. We decided to dine in but the place is very humid and warm. Ended up sweating through the meal.

The food was delicious my husband and I really enjoyed it. The only thing I didn't like was as soon as we walked in, it took the lady at least a minute or so to address us. I thought that was rude, being that she was right in front of the register looking at her cellphone. Which is the reason I gave three stars.

I lived in Norfolk for 4 years and this place was always my go to. I’ve since moved and never found a Chinese restaurant that could live up to this place. So consistent and delicious. The family that runs the restaurant are so friendly and hard working. They deserve all the success and positive affirmation.

Fresh, fast, and plenty of food. Food is consistent as well. Their lo mein is my favorite. Always so fresh and it taste very good with hot sauce.

Food was good but the restaurant needs to get updated badly, not a restaurant to go out and dine, more of a take out place. The service was not horrible but not good either.

I have literally tried soooo many Chinese places in va and none of them were really satisfying I had a few go-to places in my hometown in SC and trying to find that good Chinese has been difficult we took a chance ordering here thinking it would be just “okay” like all the others we’ve tried but no...the food was great! Their sesame seed chicken is definitely unmatched! I’ve ordered from them multiple times now and the food is always just as good or better!

The pad thai was not pad thai! It was ramen noodles, Yuck, and a very sweet sauce??? Yuck. It was like sweet and sour sauce over ramen and veggies! Yuck! Not what I wanted or ordered.

The menu should have description of ingredients in dishes so customers make informed decisions.

Also, would be nice to receive a text when order ready. Otherwise, no indication when to expect meals to be ready after order placed.

Everything was hot and fresh on delivery. The only reason I took a star away is that we ordered delivery and the delivery man refused to bring it to our apartment. We had to go all the way down and outside which was inconvenient.

Best asian food I've found in Virginia! I love this place and I'll never stop going! I always ask them to make my general psos so spicy I regret it the next day, and they never fail or sacrifice the amazing flavor! I wish I had more stars to give! And the portion sizes are huge, I always have left overs. My only complaint is that the place is so homey that I never want to leave!

(Review from yelp as well)--I have been here four times and three of the four times the food was over cooked (the general tso). The first time it was reasonable, but it does not taste as authentic as the other places I have been, but hey, everyone cooks different, no matter who you are.
Anyway, I go back again, figuring I could get a something different and maybe it would be better tasting and feel more authentic. However, it was not. I ordered Lo Mein. It was not cooked properly and I had not touched it AT ALL. I knew based on going to several other asian restaurants what I was suppose to be getting. They did not prepare what I asked for. Sadly, the person I was with paid before looking at the food. When I saw it and they saw it, they went back inside asking for a refund. The woman at the counter claimed to be the manager. the person I was with tried to talk to her before i came inside and she was ready to give him the refund, but then she decided to change her mind, even after the young boy with the sandy blond, long, beach boy hair told her that the person I was with literally just walked out. She said that because the food had been prepared, she could only offer HALF a refund. Okay, cool. So I came inside, because I wanted to understand why, never heard of anyone doing business that way unless its written somewhere for customers to see, therefore there is no misunderstanding.
Now, I did understand her point of view. And I too would have been upset, however, you can only expect the customer to go by expectations you have set ahead of time. Somehow, she created a rule (after she had already promised my friend a full refund but changed her mind). The rule was only half the money back for prepared food because they did not want to throw it out. Again, I understand that, its money gone. But when you tell a customer that, it needs to be in your policy or written somewhere so that when customers come to pay, they know. Not having that written down allowed me to inform her, she had to give me my money back because they food was not up to par. She was making racially charged insults about me shopping at walmart and retail stores. I did not get angry with her. I told her that if you go to any reputable restaurant like Apple Bees, Joes Crabshack, hell Golden Wok, Chens Kitchen, they all offer a full refund if you do not like the food. Apple Bees and Chilies will offer you to remake the food and send the manager to kindly talk to you about it. We told her that we could have gone somewhere else to receive better food and service but we came there expecting so much and she told us not to come back, we informed her we would never return to such a mediocre and unprofessional establishment where you can be insulted by the staff and receive grade F- customer service.
This lady went on a rant upset and looking like she was about to cry (she could not handle the fact that I did not react to her racial insults, because why give a person that much power, I am educated, and I know better) because she wanted to make up a rule out of thin air. You have to have something like that written on the wall or something so people know. I respect rules and understood her position, but do not offer my friend a full refund and then change your mind because you want to save money since you are losing food and do not go around creating rules AFTER the fact. Now you have lost a potential loyal customer and future ones all because you wanted to put your pride in the forefront and not to the side. This is suppose to be a business, she needs to learn how to run one. Otherwise the next person may not take her ignorant insults so well and may even reach as far as calling the police because she wants to withhold their money. She gave me my full refund and threw more insults as she processed it but on the way out the door I just told her again, for future reference, write that on the wall or the computer so that this type of stuff does not happen. IF you go here, its on you, buddy. I am just telling my story.

Tried Ya Ya Asian tonight for first time, on recommendation from friends. Very disappointed. Main issue was with the Wanton. It had Peanuts and I'm deathly allergic to Peanuts. Nothing on their takeout menu indicated this dish had Peanuts........ America's #1 food allergy.......... Guess they haven't heard? If they are going to put Peanuts in their dishes, they should post a warning for those of use with Peanut allergies.
