This is my favorite place to order catering. My family loves how tender the poached chicken is and the fragrant ginger rice. The sauces are delicious and are good for dipping anything in!

Diner Review №2

Best lunch spot in Herndon. Very flavorful, filling portions, speedy service. One of the few places I can find Thai Khao Soi and if you know then you know. Will recommend every time.

Diner Review №3

I never say this, but RUN from this place. The boiled chicken and rice were STICKY (i.e., bacteria laden). I ordered a $70 catering tray and threw the entire thing in the trash after driving an hour to pick it up. It was so disappointing and disgusting. I can not believe they would serve such an abomination. Utterly nasty.
Update:
I have texted my receipt as proof

If you love a simple Hainanese chicken rice with a warm bowl of soup do try this place ! We got 2 combos the combo A with poached chicken and fried chicken with rice & combo C which was grilled chicken and fried chicken with rice and a big bowl of chicken clear soup , both were good but I enjoyed the combo C better . They serve it with 2 sauces both delicious, if you like extra spicy then surely ask for chilli oil 🔥 its spicyy be careful! Overall a great experience the food ambiance !

Delicious! Located inside of Umai ramen and rice bowl. Fresh ingredients, nice portion size and great flavors. I ordered combo B (poached and grilled), soup and pork buns. I loved the soup, and it's only $2.50! The pork buns were great and the combo bowl was delicious, I tried both sauces and can't decide which one I liked more, both tasty. the restaurant itself (Umai) is cute, too. It's small, but I like the vibe. Both restaurants have great food.

first the location as others have mentioned. My GPS stopped me at a turn that was gated which was wrong, have to go down one more turn. Kindi Thai is located inside Frontier Kitchen, which is in the building behind the one that says Marble Systems that you will see from the street. Pretty cool to have several food places at one location, would like to check out the others some day as well.

You ring a door bell for the restaurant you want and they will come to the door to take your order.

I got the fried chicken and it was delicious! it was to go so the first thing was the aroma. It smelled so good on the drive home I couldn't wait to eat it. Chicken was nice and crispy. Rice was flavorful but wasn't too different from regular white rice in my opinion. Bowl is bigger than it looks in pictures.

The sauce it comes with is key, it's delicious!

Diner Review №11

Good food, terrible portions for what you paid for.

Diner Review №12

Very very good food and also the attention.

Diner Review №13

Khao Man Gai wasn’t bad although the sauce that came with it was really bad. The soup was tasty but after having it the lips and tongue burnt from the high level of sodium in it. Overall, I didn’t have good experience with this dish. Would try again in the far future if they have sauce and soup recipe adapted.

Diner Review №15

Extremely flavorful poached chicken and rice. Ordered a spicy basil chicken over rice as well and it was equally fantastic. Would definitely recommend trying

Diner Review №16

I had the Signature Khao Man Gai and Thai Tea— wow! The rice and chicken with the sauce had so much flavor! Garlicky, gingery goodness.10/10 recommend Kindi Thai Chicken Rice! My mom said the sauce is so good that she wants to eat it on everything!

Diner Review №17

The food was ok but not a great experience. Not sure about all the Google hype (currently 4.7 stars).

First, it's just a food kitchen - there's no dine in - you can't even walk in. Curbside pickup only. When you arrive it's it an industrial park in the back of a lot. There's no signage for the restaurants that use the kitchen and hardly signage for the kitchen itself. Glad I didn't go here for the first time in the dark because I probably wouldnt have found it.

Second, the doorbells they use don't work. There was a button with a sticky that said to press hard but it didnt work at all. We pressed several times and the doorbell lit up to show we pressed it but apparently it doesn't ring inside. The staff wasn't looking for us either even though we placed the order and they knew the doorbell wasn't working. Someone from another restaurant in the kitchen eventually found us and went to tell Kindi we were there.

Third, the portion is pretty small for the price. It's like ~$14 without a drink. You get the equivalent of one big chicken thigh on a bed of rice.

The food itself was ok. I didn't think it was mind blowing. But for the location, setup, price, and experience I give this a not good 2 stars. It's expensive takeout in an inconvenient location at this point.

Diner Review №18

I ordered a combo which has hainanese chicken and fried chicken over rice.
I been travel to Thai several times, I would say the food is below average.
For the price I don't think it worth it.
hainanese chicken is really try and rice is very soggy which is definitely not the right taste.
Chick should be juicy and tender, rice should be flavorful not soggy and soft.

I think I have recently become Kind's big fan!!! I have been
doing the food picked up at their kitchen at least 2-3 a
week. I love their new Spicy Basil Pop menu. This dish is
so tasty without any additional sauce!!! I usually get my
meal with their Thai Tea Lemonade (refreshing!!!)
Beside their chicken rice, I also found them selling Thai
Crispy Crepe at One Loudon farmer market on Saturday
morning as well. The owners were so sweet, nice, and
kind. They remembered me from the kitchen and they
kindly give me my favorite Thai Tea Lemonade drink!
I am smiling as I was typing... just Love thier food so
much. Brought me back to Thailand!

This is really excellent nfor the area and very good overall. All the reviews are true. But note it is a ghost kitchen or group of businesses, so you can not dine in. Maybe they'll succeed and expand?

Diner Review №22

Delicately poached chicken, flavorful rice and yummy sauces to go with it. Great non fussy comfort food, portioned perfectly. Thank you

Diner Review №23

Fantastic.. simple and delicious.

Diner Review №24

After all the positive reviews, we tried it last night. We hated the order process and no phone number. Rice was good, but not hard to make, food was decent, but overpriced for just chicken, rice and few pieces of sliced cucumbers. I have to say, their rice and sauces were good.

Diner Review №25

Recently discovered this Thai place and I am in love. I tried their kindi combo and sriracha wings both were amazing. The poached Chicken and fried chicken with ginger garlic sauce and sweet chili makes the whole dish so yum. Thai iced tea was good tea. Overall a decent place, worth it.

Believe me guys when I say this but their Khao Man Gai (Thai Chicken Rice) is SO GOOD and RICH!

My favorite is the Kindi Combo, which is half poached and half fried Khao Man Gai over simmered rice. The rice really gave character to the dish, as it is simmered with Thai herbs in chicken broth. Literally when my boyfriend took a bite, he was like "Jaz, you gotta try this rice!". We also enjoyed the fried KMG with the homemade ginger and garlic sauce and sweet chili sauce. Their other KMG's are also really good choices as well: the original and grilled. Not to the say the least, we are definitely ordering from here again!

Also, you got to pair your food with some Thai Tea! Both their Thai Tea and Thai Tea Lemonade are really good, and I definitely recommend :)

Diner Review №28

Food is no taste, only little cucumber, little chicken and alot of rice in the bowl,..you can go to Thai restaurant like Mali Thai or Burapa Thai and get delicious foods for the same price...don't waste your time and m9ney for this place, My friends and eate little bit and put it in the trash...

Diner Review №29

This place makes authentic Khao man Kai. It makes me miss Khao man kai in Thailand a lot. The chicken and rice are so soft and tasty. I’m glad that I live near this restaurant. High recommended 👍👍

Diner Review №30

Best thai chicken rice ever. Every time I go to washington dc and virginia, It always on my list and get some to take home. Love their sauce. Yummy!!!

Diner Review №31

The food was delicious and the drinks too!! I ordered 2 SIGNATURE KHAO MAN GAI and 1 SRIRACHA CHICKEN WINGS (5PCS.) THAI TEA LEMONADE AND THAI ICE TEA. I recommend getting an extra garlic sauce, it is to die for!! I am still thinking about it. I can't wait to try their other dishes. So good!

Diner Review №32

Imagine walking through the streets of Southeast Asia lined with food stalls, echoes of locals chatting, and surrounded with intoxicating aromas. Some of those aromas would likely come from a humble plate of chicken rice (commonly known as Hainanese Chicken Rice) with accents of ginger, chilis, and other fragrant herbs. If you've ever been to Singapore or Malaysia, you likely know exactly what I'm talking about. A dish that was, at one point, not available anywhere in the Greater DC area has finally made it's way here. Kindi is run by an extremely passionate and friendly duo, Nelly and Jacky, and brought the Thai version of chicken rice "Khao Man Gai" to Chantilly, VA. My family lineage can be traced by to the Hainan province so I couldn't be more excited.

I had the opportunity to try the Kindi Combo, Crispy Chicken Wontons, and Sriracha Wings. The Kindi Combo combines their two chicken preparations into a heavenly bowl of their signature Khao Man Gai (poached chicken) and the fried marinated chicken served atop simmered rice with Thai herbs garnished with fresh cucumber and cilantro. Drizzled with the homemade ginger and garlic sauce, it was nostalgic and comforting thoroughly enjoying every single bite. The wontons were a bit light on the chicken filling, but addictively crispy. The wings were flavor bombs with tasty heat.

Overall, the food is one of a kind. They might specialize in chicken rice, but definitely don't sleep on the other delectable offerings. So take a culinary trip to Southeast Asia with one of the most beloved street foods. You won't regret it. It's a truly authentic experience... one that I intend on visiting over and over again.

Diner Review №33

We got the poached and fried khao man gai. The food was delicious, and we will definitely be going back for more.

Diner Review №34

Love all the food that they have on the menu especially Khao man gai is real thai signature, very tasty and staff very friendly and helpful, if you have any questions about the food they can help you out and you will get what you deserve, I recommend you to try out everything on the menu

Diner Review №35

A hidden gem! The flavors of their chicken and rice are outstanding. We got the poached chicken and loved it. I could eat it every single day :)

We did order catering from them as well and everyone enjoyed the food.

They operate out of a ghost kitchen so kinda hard to find them but give them a call and they will guide you. Very friendly people and great customer service.

Diner Review №37

We tried a rice bowl with fried ck and it was so delicious. This place is a must try. The owner was super cool. Halal was a plus.

Diner Review №38

Amazing flavors and textures! Delicately flavored rice and chicken. The sauce is amazing and packs a punch! Must try!

Diner Review №39

My first visit here but not last. I love their Thai-style Haianese chicken so much. The rice isn’t your typical white rice but is cooked with seasonings to give a different taste. The chicken is so juicy and tender. The soup made from chicken bones and it’s super flavorful. Also their Thai iced tea is so good and it must get as well.
The service is also quick. I called for take out and they were ready within 10 minutes. I will be going here often.

Diner Review №40

If you haven’t tried this place, you are missing out. Authentic taste of Thai style. Chicken rice and the soup is a BOMB!!! Chilli sauce is slightly different from the ones you find in Malaysia or Singapore. Thai people have this menu for breakfast or lunch. Good for morning meal. Easy, quick and it is real Thai street food. Best Khao Man Gai in DMV. Highly Recommended!!

Diner Review №41

Loved it, so good! This tasted like the chicken rice I had in Bangkok - I was really missing it! Glad that Kindi Thai Chicken Rice is around now to satisfy my cravings.
I got a little lost on the way to the place and they were very nice and gave me directions on the phone. Thank you again! :) I will definitely come back soon.

Diner Review №42

They only serve Khao Man Gai as the main course, and it's amazing. Not many Thai places will service this dish due to the level of effort, but this place does it right. Get the signature if you want traditional (poached chicken), Fried KMG for something new (fried chicken), or the Kindi Combo for both.

Diner Review №43

Thai authentic street food right here!!!! Must try

Diner Review №44

I love khao man gai!!!!

Diner Review №45

So good!!! Soft chicken with ginger sauce! Can’t resist eat it! Try it!!!
