Charming Thai kitchen & coffee bar where bookshelves & striped wallpaper lend a homey feel.
★★★★★ Amazing Food & Excellent Service!
I had an incredible experience at this Thai restaurant! Tan provided the best customer service—she was kind, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the fish, which was cooked to perfection. And the dessert? Simply unforgettable! The flavors were authentic, fresh, and full of delicious Thai spices.
If you’re looking for great food and top-notch service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended! Thank you, Tan, for making my visit so enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back!
I liked the vibe of this place with the bookshelves and all the other decorations. The food tasted good, nothing extraordinary. But I was quite disappointed by the portion sizes, especially for the price. I feel like there are many other Thai places in NOVA and elsewhere that have much bigger portions for that price. It's a decent enough place, and I don't want to give a lower rating, but it I would prefer to go some other place if I'm getting the same quality for less. Overall 3.5/5
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. It is located near Main Street and University Drive in Fairfax. It has cute interior decor similar to its other DMV location, and the food is good overall. However, on our last visit, we felt the taste of the dishes was stronger and saltier than usual.
We had dinner here for our friend’s birthday. Loved the romantic decor with its bookshelves filled with books, movie posters in Thai and the menu looked like a newspaper. The staff was friendly and immediately recognized it was a birthday celebration and let us know discreetly they’d bring out a treat later. We had the fishcake appetizer which was delicious and fragrant (and has no fishy taste in case you’re wondering.) We shared a papaya salad set which came with chicken and sticky rice but I didn’t love it, as the salad dressing was a bit on the bland side. The chicken was fine. We also had the duck ka pow; it was average. My drink, The Reminder, was delicious.
First time dining in and the service, food, scenery was 10/10. The servers go above and beyond to make sure you’re enjoying everything. My server was so attentive and they even assisted with sharing out my leftovers in a Togo box for me. This is what service is all about, restaurants need to take notes from the way they conduct their business here. It’s friendly and a welcoming environment. Special shout out to the chef as well, I had the drunk noodles and they were immaculate! Bartender was also amazing with the drinks, presentation 10/10 & so was the taste. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending to my peers!
TL;DR: Aesthetic: 10/10. Menu aesthetic: 10/10. Rich, delicious Thai food. Service was prompt and the waiters were attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend in terms of the food and aesthetic.
Specific Foods:
Green Curry: 9.1/10 (lunch portion size was perfect and the broth was rich)
Crispy Wontons: 8.7/10
Ka Prow: 8.6/10 (lunch portion size was a little small)
Green Curry with Roti: 8.6/10
Special Attention: Parking is difficult and I went during a less busy time. I parked at the parking lot diagonally across the intersection from Sisters Thai. A larger party of people may be better suited elsewhere since the restaurant is small as it is.
General Wait Time for 1/2 dishes: 15-20 min
Room For Improvement:
Bathroom door didn’t lock
The UberEats notifications was a little too loud, especially sitting right next to it
Save yourself the trip and go somewhere else in NoVA.
1- our waitress was incredibly rude and lacked good customer service. We were ordering with two elderly and she kept rushing us and interrupted us and said she’d be back in the middle of our order. She came back much later to ask if we wanted anything else. Definitely not after the way we were rushed.
2- the waitress forgot one dish, so our food came out at all different times despite them being the same main dish. Therefore, our food got cold while we were waiting for the rest.
3- when we told them the spicy level wasn’t the same (it was spicier than medium), the waitress didn’t care or offer to adjust it. She told us if we wanted to order another, it would take 20+ minutes and we have to wait.
4- she came around after to ask if everything is okay, and she turned around and left without waiting for a response.
I agree with other reviews that their portions are small for what you pay. Their food isn’t outstanding Thai food that you can’t get elsewhere.

Food had little spice, it Lacked favor, I was disappointed, meal for 2 and no drink $70.00 including tip.
I found out the hard way that the reviews are accurate. I didn't look at them until it was too late. The prices you pay for an entree does not match the quantity of food. This is a NO for me and it will be the last time I allow someone to rip me off. What I received was a lunch size portion instead of a $16 meal. I didn't visit this place to look at the bookshelves we came to eat dinne! This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves but will not change until everyone speaks up or goes elsewhere.
I’ve eaten takeout from here 3 times and I’m still not impressed. The pad thai was always super dry, clumped together and flavorless. No flavor. I’m not sure what the hype is about this place but I don’t see it. Or taste it. I’ll try somewhere else next time.
Always a superb dining experience! Sisters never fails to delivery a most delicious Thai food experience!
My favorite place for Thai food.

One of the worst Tom Ka and papaya salad that we have ever tried the flavors were discussing and the shrimp was old —- ended up throwing it away
We don’t recommend this restaurant at all

We ordered Drunken noodles 11/16/2024 to go and no cutlery or napkins were given with order i called them to complain about it and my call was got disconnected. That was very rude of handling calls
I ordered a Pad-Thai and it came with a huge egg shell in it and the chicken and noodles were unseasoned it tasted like nothing don't go here
I have come to this location of Sisters Thai many times for to go orders, but my first experience eating in was very disappointing. During the service our waiter did not come to check and ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Other guests had their waters refilled, but we did not have our waters refilled once. Tips, especially large tips, are earned by the quality of service. While I left a small tip and some did not at my table, understandably so, another waitress came over to say “you have to leave a tip” with an attitude. Not only was she saying we had to tip, but we had to tip for bad service. Tips are not required, which is why it is not included. I have always enjoyed this restaurant but I will not be back. If the servers want large tips they need to put in more effort and provide quality service to ALL guests.

Delicious food
Unsanitary. We ordered two dishes yesterday for takeouts and I found hair in my meal. It was delicious but pretty much it ruined the whole dinner once I found out.
We went here for dinner. Nothing romantic about this place. It is not clean and filthy, it is small, loud and you are seating on your neighbor’s lap. They are not flexible about the menu items. The portions are small. They give you about 2 tablespoons of rice and they charge extra.
Nickel and dime their customers.
Next day I called the place to discuss the issue. I talked with a woman who refused to give me her name and said the manager will call me back and hung up on me.
The manager never called.
Will not go back.
This place used to be really good but has gone way downhill
Absolutely delicious! We had shrimp pad thai, pottery shrimp, crispy pork belly with chinese broccoli, and fried spring rolls. Everything was delicious!
I am a student and I couldn’t leave any tip. The waitress came out of the restaurant after I left asking why didn’t I tip her. I told her I am a student and can’t afford to pay tip. She said that if I can’t afford to pay tip i should not be eating at the restaurant. She did this in-front of my friends. Never going back again. Not recommended.
Food was pretty good, but terrible service ruined the experience for me. There were two waitresses and this one lady seemed like she hated me asking questions (two questions about the menu. Literally two, asking “what is ___?”). I am so sorry I asked about Thai dishes that I’m not familiar with but she needs to mind her attitude.
The restaurant itself is very nice, however the food is lacking, flavor isn't there, the prices are quite high.
Good food plus good sitting area! Staff is always smiling.
This place used to be very good. Such a shame

Excellent food preparation and presentation!
Excellent and courteous staff!
Excellent taste!
Clean dining area with interesting decor!
All five of our dinner orders were full of great flavor and made exactly as requested!
As the name on the front of the store says sisters Living room, that is exactly how it looks inside. It is tastefully done and comfortable..
I’m sorry I don’t live in this area because I would definitely return, but I hope others reading this review will try it!
So disappointing! My family and I stopped here for dinner after a long day of running errands. We were greeted by a man with a bun who just pointed to one side of the restaurant and told us to have a seat, there was a woman sitting by the window by herself eating and reading, I didn’t want to disturb her so we went to go sit at the table that had 6 chairs, we were a party of 4. The man with the bun very rudely said you can’t sit here this is for 6 and directed us to sit at a cramped table with 4 chairs in a corner next to the woman. We were handed menus and knew what we wanted right away since we are pretty familiar with Thai food. We all ordered the Chicken Drunken Noodle $15/ea , the food came out very fast but I was very confused when I saw the portion. It was so small I thought maybe it was a lunch portion which I asked and the guy with the man bun said no it was dinner. The portion was probably equal to 1 cup and then garnished with a large handful of shredded cabbage and carrots. The chicken drunken noodles was very dry not a lot of taste at all, they unfortunately did not use enough basil and the taste of sweet soy sauce was basically the dominant flavor. There is clearly no pride or passion at this place just a confused hipster restaurant
(trying to figure out whether they want to be a cafe or a restaurant) with cute decor mooching off the fact that they can charge a ridiculous amount for a empty plate of flavorless food in this area. Not to state the obvious but we left there $50 less and starving.
Delicious meals. Staff is knowledgeable about vegan and which meals can be made to be vegan. There's also a lovely cafe with desserts and special milk tea/smoothie drinks.
Great prices. Big portions. Dishes bursting with flavors. Excellent customer service. We ordered the appetizer green curry chicken with Indian naan bread, the famous beef boat soup, ka paw chicken, and drunken noodles chicken-- everything was finger-licking delicious.
No wonder they are rated highest in Fairfax area. I'm definitely coming back and bringing my friends.
So good! Best dinner we had on vacation!
I ordered online and it didn’t give me the option to set a time for pick up. Since I don’t live close, I called and asked for it to be ready in an hour, they explained the food had already been made and I explained my frustration since I really love sisters Thai and just didn’t want it to be cold. They were polite and agreed to make the food to be ready for my arrival time. Very much appreciate the customer centered service as well as the delicious food!
Great food! Great ambiance. Very chill. Nearby parking can be an issue. There is a covered garage and open surface parking lot across the street from the restaurant but gets full on peak times.
I have eaten here numerous times before and loved the food, but this most recent experience, the food was not good at all.
I had ordered three dishes for a family takeout. All three were flavorless. I have never disliked Thai food but this was an exception. The tofu was incredibly chewy, the noodles and rice flavorless. After a few bites, we gave up and made frozen pizza for dinner.
Best Thai in the DMV. I came here once a couple months ago for the first time and became addicted, I ate thai spicy drunken noodles every week from here for over a month because it's so good. Also the environment inside is really aesthetic with newspaper wallpaper and newspaper menus.
Ordered duck curry, they gave us the wrong order, then when we called they told us to drive back 20 minutes to pick up our order, only to find out they gave us just curry soup with no duck.. and we even paid more for the mistake she made
0 customer service and poor attitude, blande food not worth the price
Lovely little restaurant and the food is amazing. Just as good if not better from my vacation to Thailand
Food and service are always fantastic. My favorite Thai place outside of Thailand...the food is never heavy and it's always authentic. They've even advised me when the mango wasn't ripe and couldn't be used, instead of just serving. The seating can be a little awkward as the oblong tables put you closer to the stranger sitting next to you than you are to your date.
Pretty pricey for the portion sizes… ordered drunken noodles and panang curry for entre, shrimp cake and tom ka soup for appetizers.
They gave a tiny little Mickey Mouse sized bowl of white rice for a panang curry that could feed 2 people, then ask for extra money for another tiny little bowl of white rice. Also If u order medium spicy, prepare for EXTRA spicy. Only 3 shrimp cakes not 4 like other places usually, and the Tom Ka I would not recommend I’ve had a lot better elsewhere. Idk if I’d come again, maybe if I’m in the area and really hungry

Great food. The crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli is an off menu item. You can request it. It is delicious. They have a version of the pork belly in the street food section. The pad Thai is delicious and the Tom yum soup is also delicious. The mango sticky rice is delicious for dessert. Cute little place with great food in Fairfax city.
This has been the most horrible dining experience recently. We ordered Thai ice coffee and sister punch. Per waitress, the lunch is with mango and pineapple, but it was made with artificial strawberry super sweet flavor, and I can’t have a second sip. Food took 25min. Shrimp cake was ok, Yen Ta Fo was awful with wired pink soup, picked sour but tastes bad. Crispy duck curry was really fatty. I definitely would not recommend it.
I had an incredibly unpleasant experience at Sisters Thai restaurant. The server was pushy and rude when I explained that my group had already tipped on my behalf. Despite being a broke college student, the server insisted that I "have to tip" and continued to argue, suggesting I order takeout next time. The lack of understanding and the unnecessary confrontation left a sour taste in my mouth, making this a dining experience I won't be repeating.
Not the place if you're in a hurry. I was almost upset for waiting so long until I tasted the Thai Coffee. Yum!
Restaurant was COMPLETELY empty, and they seated me next to an alcove that smelled like literal TRASH?? Disgusting, it was hard to eat. Service was severely subpar. I had to wait for them to come out several times and to get the bill. Meanwhile they were staring at me like I was weird for coming in alone on my lunch break. Save yourself and just go to tiki thai or la ong thai. Don’t know what’s wrong with this location. EDIT: looks like this location has racist staff. if ur brown or black and have a bad experience with the service here, that's probably why.
Cute, quirky decor. Small inside and can get crowded. The food is good.
Quite good but not the best I've had and a bit expensive compared to other Thai restaurants in the area.
Found this gem of a place. Quaint little place. Food is amazing and authentic. Will come back again.
This is the best Sisters Thai location in the DMV area! Live the vibe, the decor, and the service. Their crispy duck curry is god-tier.
Go here for the Crispy spring rolls, Ka Prow, Thai fried rice or even the potter shrimp.
Do not go here for Pad Thai. This place is very convenient, if you need delivery and don’t want to pay double using door dash. They get 5 stars from me for fast and efficient delivery. Just don’t order the Pad Thai
First time coming to the Fairfax location. Having been to the other location in the DMV area. It was safe to say that my high expectations were met! I highly recommend you to try their Fried Wonton and their Braised Duck, Crab Fried Rice. Another thing to consider trying is their Strawberry Cake. The interior gives such a cozy and homey vibe. The only thing to note is that I recommend you book a table. We went around 7pm and it was pretty crowded! Also it was pretty cold inside last time, but as long as the food taste good it isn’t a problem! :)
Fantastic
Went for lunch and was shocked at how badly I was treated. When I walked in I asked if I could sit in the corner and the girl (Jean was her name) very rudely pointed me to the direction and didn’t give me a menu or water until I asked. Food portion was extremely small and get this… I wasn’t given any utensils or plates… I asked Jean 3 times for both plates and utensils and I wasn’t given anything and then I walked up to the front desk and asked the manager and he finally gave it to me. Because of the lack of attention and service given to me, I decided not to tip. As I was walking out the door, Jean chased me and started screaming at me while having the resturant door open. She told me the tip is mandatory, I told her if that was the case they would’ve deducted that amount automatically and I told her that her service is the reason she did not get a tip. She further continued to yell and scream and tell me that “next time if you don’t tip you don’t come back”. Which really shocked me because a tip is earned it’s not just handed out. Especially if the service was bad. I then called the manager, who was even more delusional and began to tell me it’s STATE LAW to tip. I don’t know what law this man is looking at but that’s not the case. He said “in DC it’s not the law to tip but in VA it is” 😭😂 then he began to justify her behavior by telling me they only get paid $3 an hour which is why they beg for tips. Maybe if they provided better service and were nicer people would tip them. Also, there were about 6 people including me so it was not busy at all. In fact, Jean, the server was in the back on her phone. When I went to the register to ask for a plate, she was scrolling on her phone avoiding customers. So to summarize:
1) very small food portions, and very basic
2) horrible staff and customer service
3) servers follow you outside to yell at u
4) servers practically harass u to tip them
5) managers justify servers behavior and apparently create their own state laws about “mandatory tips”
Do NOT visit. You will get scammed. There are many other Thai restaurants, don’t support scammers and thieves. That lady Jean needs to check her attitude before she can work at any restaurant job
Food(except for larb gai which was overcooked and dry)+atmosphere+service were all great minus the "service charge" of more than $16 on our check that spoiled everything. And the audacity for "TIP" at the bottom SMH!!! We ended up paying 25% service fee for our food. Double check your bills. We won't be returning anytime soon.
Have been to the Alexandria and the Fairfax locations. Both are exceptional.
Just FYI! If your using Grub Hub , grub hub charges more than the restaurant does! And this restaurant has free delivery! DON'T USE GH!!!!!!
We've been coming to Sisters Thai for over 10 years and have never been disappointed.
I'm very happy to have randomly stopped here to enjoy a bowl of wonderful Khao Soi. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and the decor of the restaurant was cozy. I'll definitely return again!
I have been long time customer to this place since 2013, even after they open another location this location was my favorite place.
But after today’s lunch my wife and I both agreed not to come back this place ever.
Overall food quality was subpar and the place smelled like a wet mop. Could only eat maybe 30% of it and left.
I enjoyed my lunch experience! Will definitely come again. I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken (spicy and one order non-spicy) with fried Thai rice combo with a fruit punch freeze and my boyfriend ordered a mango freeze (absolutely my favorite) with the Crying Tiger which was also really good! I enjoyed how well cooked but not a well-done cook the steak it was a perfect medium/medium-well.
The drunken noodles spicy are really good but definitely spicy! Has my nose running haha but the non spicy is also super delicious not bland at all!
Very good atmosphere for Thai Resturant in the area
Food was okay.
Very slow service and food was arrived cold, not a good experience at all. Food was average.
Demanding for tip, though i gave them tip, they were saying it was too little and abusing our country, saying”give low tips in your country not here”. We are too students here, we arent working professionals. Who demands tips from students?
They sat us immediately! We were a party of 5 adults and 5 kids. We'd called ahead and they were very accommodation.
They give you VERY little amounts of food. Especially if you order delivery. I usually have leftovers from anywhere else I order. This place serves you 95% broth. Yikes.
Good flavors but I won’t be coming back.
Wanted to love it -- I had the panang curry tofu. the sauce was pretty good, but just a bit salty. The tofu, well, I just wish places cooked tofu crispy rather than squishy. Finally, the rice was fine, but there was just so *little* of it -- I don't like to eat too much rice, but I felt like they were unnecessarily skimping: it wasn't enough to match the amount of curry. No matter, I thought, I'll just ask for more, that's probably free right? Nope, another tiny amount of rice cost me $2 extra - not a lot of money, perhaps, but that's how much rice should probably come with the dish in the first place. Wait staff was polite and attentive enough, at least...
Great place
I Usually come here three times a month with my husband . The food is good and tasty with nice decorations. Well the service is good and we always give them 20% gratuity. Usually, this gratuity is equal to parties of 5 or more but This time i take my family come together 4ppl of us came out with the bill included 20% gratitude . Well we could give them more than that but Gratuity is always at the discretion of the Guest. If it were mandatory it would be a service charge so that why they said in the bill that is service charged that why they said in the bill. but anyway i don’t like to back and forth with them so i will forget this place for now so be attention if you care about that
In college, this place was my introduction to Thai food. Almost 8 years later and the food is just as good. The atmosphere and service are great. This place will always be special to me.
Red curry was okay, it was more "inspired" by Thai food. Flavor was disappointing. Everyrhing else is great.
I ordered a carryout from here for the first time. Not even half off the quantity was given. It's really sad. I love this place and come here regularly. This was the first time I ordered because I really wanted to enjoy drunken noodles. The quantity was not enough for even one meal. Was very disappointed.
Literally the best restaurant I’ve been to in Virginia. I had lost hope for a bit but I’m so glad to have found a place that does amazing food! If you go definitely try the steamed dumplings they are so good!
Our server was friendly and accommodating, The ambiance of the restaurant was also lovely, with a stylish and comfortable interior that made for a delightful dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent meal.
Wonderful food. The creme brulee cheesecake and Thai tea cake were DELICIOUS 😛
Good Thai food. Great choices. Good atmosphere.
I recently visited this restaurant with some friends and was blown away by the food and service. The dishes were creative and beautifully presented, and the flavors were absolutely outstanding. Our server was friendly and accommodating, offering great recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. The ambiance of the restaurant was also lovely, with a stylish and comfortable interior that made for a delightful dining experience. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent meal.
Amazing food and cozy atmosphere.
I found hair in my dish. No reactions from staff.
Absolutely love this place! Food is delicious and the atmosphere is great!
Had a great lunch at Sister’s Thai. We were happy with the quantity vs. cost, taste of the food and service that we received.
Nice food, but you need to look closer to your check. They secretly charge a 20% service fee without mentioning it. So if you do not pay attention to these and tip, you will end up paying a 40% gratuity!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good nice simplicity all around but food was to the mark what thai food should be. Would again once more
Very good, Crispy Duck curry was exceptional
One of the best local restaurant in nova
I love this cute restaurant. We used to frequent the Mosaic location a lot and came to their Fairfax location after a graduation. My only complaint is that the Fairfax location doesn't do the cocktails that Mosaic does, but the food is still amazing and worth it
Love this place! We order from here at least twice a month! Drunken noodles and pad Thai are our go-tos!!
Have eaten at another location and food was much better. Was disappointed when I returned to my hotel to eat. Had to wait forever on 'to go' order and food (Pad Thai Chicken and garden roll) was just blaaa. I left 2/3 of food in container and threw it away if that says anything.
Good place for dining .. comfortable.. but then I have try so many Thai restaurants Tom Yan soups... it is all the same .. salty... non I know has original taste
My wife orders from here at least two to three times a month and we order the same thing. Medium drunken noodles. I placed an order and picked it up. When I got home, my wife was eating and asked me to come in the living room to taste her food. At that point, she had been so hungry she’d eaten at least a third of her meal, but she couldn’t finish it. I tried it and it was not medium. We eat here and have never had our food this spicy. I didn’t touch my order because her food was so spicy. I called and asked if they can swap for medium spice because I asked for medium and this was very spicy. When I picked up the replacement order, I noticed the boxes were light, and I should’ve checked them at the restaurant. They filled each replacement order to about half of the food they usually add. I called and asked why they made my replacement orders with half the food I was charged for, they said it was because my wife had eaten some. I explained my wife was hungry and she ate only a third of her food and couldn’t finish it. I ate nothing from my food. I only wish I took photos before I sent my food back. This is straight up dishonest. They admit they chose to be cheap on the replacement order and this was how they justified it. I asked if I can just bring the food back again and get a refund. She said her manager has to approve it and they’re not there. I continued to argue with the woman on the phone and she hung up. This experience really soured me because their food is good, but I can’t justify spending money with a restaurant that justifies cheating customers with a replacement order.
Sisters Thai is always trustworthy when it comes to taste. This branch, particularly had a great ambience, which is definitely an add on!
It was like eating at home atmosphere didnt feel we ate at a restaurant!!!
We’ve been coming here for 8 years and it’s time to find a new thai place. We will never return, sadly. Last time we were here, the food was good but the service was terrible. So we decided to give them another chance thinking it was an off night. Tonight, the service lacked again (server checked in on everyone but us….weird) but also the food (ordered 2 thai teas, 1 soup, 2 apps, 2 drunken noodles) was atrocious. The portions were tiny - our calamari had 13 tiny pieces in it and both the drunken noodles were cold and mushy (usually the noodles are still in tact). The beef was also undercooked and tasted like blood. Were not the type to complain and return food so we just dealt with it but this place has completely gone downhill. I’ve never in my life tipped less than 20% but tonight I had no choice.
Unfortunately quality has severly dropped. Wait staff is especially rude. Do not recommend coming here anymore.
Not only was the place packed to the brim, but I'd bet that this place was busy the entire day we went. Fairfax was having its Fall festival! Despite that we were served very quickly and the food was still amazing, flavorful and beautiful! Reasonable prices as a well, you absolutely get your money's worth for the quality, surprised this place isn't more highly rated.
Sisters Thai is quite possibly one of the best Thai places in the area! I usually will just order the food and get it as takeout, but when recently I decided to eat in the restaurant, I was shocked. The eating area was small (probably fit around 25 people), but it was the coziest, and nicest restaurant I’ve been to in a very long time. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the pictures others have posted! It’s a mix of a fancy living room, and a cafe. The dining area is very relaxing and will bring me back again. As for the actual food, it was DELICIOUS! The “Thai Spicy” is very spicy, so if you have a low spice tolerance, don’t order that amount of spice. The menu was very spacious, and has things from traditional dishes, curry, and delicious pastries from their bakery. I ordered some Larb Gai, Drunken Noodles, Massaman Curry, and a chocolate cake afterwards. The food was extremely fresh and the spices were used very well. I’ve gotten Thai food from many places in the area, but nothing has compared to this. If you’re looking for some good comfort food, make sure to try this place out! You really won’t regret it.
4.7/5 Stars
Friendly, prompt service and absolutely delicious food! Love meeting friends in this cozy gem of a restaurant!
Great place for Thai food. Very cool spot. I had panang curry and wonton crisps. It's a great lunch deal too.
This is a great date night spot. The atmosphere and decor is so cozy and homey! Food is excellent, Thai fried rice (vegan without eggs) was very fresh and delicious. Service was pleasant and professional - 5 stars for the whole team!
Came here on a Saturday night without reservations, it was busy but we still got seated immediately. A tiny bit noisy because the place is small but that is what happens on weekend nights out in Historic Fairfax. Highly recommend for a fresh and fun night out. Can't wait to come back!
Very rude.
We are vegan, and the drunken noodles with tofu was absolutely fabulous!
Arrived close to closing time and was welcomed by the staff and enjoyed a wonderful late night dinner and ordered extra to take home for a meal the next night. Food is delicious and staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
Roaches - Roaches - Roaches - I saw more than 7 Roaches as I face their wall full of books and bottles of alcohol. They were in the Couch. In between books. Just roaming around like it wasn’t heavy evening traffic. I was so disgusted. I have a phobia of roaches. I swear I remained calmed because I have been taught better… but oh my gosh. I would Never in my life ever come back. I’m traumatized. Seriously. I was frozen in the table and my friend didn’t understand why I was acting so weird. But honestly… place needs to get fumigated or something. Is infested with cockroaches!
Oily like a puddle on the plate and tasteless. 4.7 reviews got me there but make your own decision. I’ll pass this not going back again.
Delicious, fresh food. Great menu choices, cosy cafe with friendly, helpful staff. Street parking.
Great food.
Such a disappointment! We went there yesterday for a late bday celebration for one of my best friends and guess what? They served her fried rice with burnt tofu. Horrible taste and she left everything on the plate. When asked about our meals I told the server that my friend really didn’t like it and she didn’t eat hers. She picked up the plate and took it to the back. When she brought us the bill I was shocked to see that they charged us. I did ask her if she knew that she actually charged us for a meal that taste terrible so she said she’ll ask the manager. The manager came to our table to ask if we wanted a discount. Shocked again. I told him I wasn’t asking for a discount I was just making sure that that’s their solution to a terrible experience. So guess what? He did end up leaving the bill as it was. One thing, he said sorry and I appreciated it. But that’s customer service at its lowest. There’s probably more training involved in the future. But yes, most employees looked like they didn’t want to be at work and the food they serve was far from enjoyable. To sum it up, never again.
The picture would give a justice to the dish. I ordered fried rice with tofu. Both fried rice and tofu tasted like burnt pan. It was disgusting. The service didn’t do anything to fix the problem. They just said sorry and we still had to pay the whole price… I wouldn’t recommend spending your money there
We were running errands late and found this wonderful place. The interior design of Sister is so unique. You feeling like you are eating in someone's living room.
Service was quick and friendly. The food was prepared quick and came out nice and hot.
I had the Sister's Fried rice. I loved the sweetness of the pineapple. The cashews gave it so creaminess. My wife had the Thai Fried rice. Smokey and earthy with some nice spiciness. Definitely coming back when i have more time for tea or dessert (or both).
I was very disappointed with my lunch yesterday at this location. I had been to the ones in Mosaic and Alexandria and they were excellent. But, sorry to say that the service here was lacking, the portions are small, and the pad thai was one of the worst I've had. Too sticky and too sweet. The calamari was so so, the bikini shrimps were so tiny, not worth the price. The panang curry chicken was, however, very delicious. Their Mosaic and Alexandria are much better in all aspect.
Sisters Thai is a nice little chain. I’ve been to the one in Mosaic and this one. This one is definitely more cramped, at least where I was seated. Service was good and the food came out in a timely manner. The drunken noodles is one of my favorite dishes to order. It’s quite good and there are a lot of meat options, including vegetarian options. Old town fairfax is a good place to walk around after your meal if you choose to do so.
👌
First time there with a friend of mine. She ordered the dumplings but honestly the taste was not good at all and left the plate almost untouched. The ambiance is the only reason that invites you in.
I ordered 4 Fried Spring Rolls and after driving 20 minutes back home found they gave me 2 Garden Rolls which was not more than dry carrots and lettuce.
Amazing local family-owned restaurant to have at least once, or repeatedly. Cute restaurant and is in a great place to order to-go and eat at the tables across the street.
Had the pad thai and panang curry and both were delicious!
The place is very clean. The service is nice. Unfortunately the food isn't good. My friend and I went on a lunch break. The food took a long time to come out. When it did, it tasted old and very vinegary.
I enjoy Pad Thai once a week trying out other companies. Out of 17 this is the first time I didn't enjoy the food.
Service has drastically declined. Not returning to this location. It’s not like before.
We are local and we walk here often for lunch and dinner. Usually this place is good, their portions can be small, but the food tastes good, and the staff attentive.
But for mother's day it was all a mess, they forgot dishes we ordered, and when it took over an hour to get the 4 of 6 things we ordered, and then had to wait even longer for them to make what they forgot.
By the time we started eating, it was all cold and no longer the quality you'd expect at a restaurant. The wait staff was clearly overwhelmed and the restaurant's priorities were takeout orders and not the diner's in the restaurant.
Not once did the staff come to check on us, offer refills, or anything. And then added 20% to the bill?! At the moment, in front of my mother, I didn't want to argue about this, but we will not be coming here again.
Do yourself a favor and go nextdoor to Eerkin's.
